This is a companion podcast for this morning's mantra.

When initial enthusiasm for a goal starts to fade, it helps to reconnect with your deepest motivation. Using the image of an inner flame, this meditation will help you clarify your “why” so you can decide when to stoke your passion—and when to let it rest.

Jennifer Cray is a life coach, meditation teacher and yoga teacher for Living Lit Up, based in Brisbane. You can deepen your meditation practices with her on Insight Timer.

My goals are meaningful. Close your eyes or lower your gaze.

Relax your eyes, relax your ears, relax your jaw, relax
your shoulders down, and bring your attention to your breath.
Allow the events of your day to run through your
mind from when you woke up to this very moment.

(01:03):
Reflect on feeling connected to your motivation. Reflect on the

(01:29):
goals that you work on. Reflect on what should keep

(01:53):
going and what should stop. What can you learn from

(02:18):
this now? Think of three things that happened today that
you can be grateful for. Say thank you, and then

(02:41):
let go, releasing the day and all thoughts that came
with it. Calling your energy back to this moment, bringing

(03:05):
your attention to your breath, breathing in and out of
your nose, Drawing your breath down into your belly where
there are no thoughts at all. See you tomorrow for
