Evening Reflection
Spiritual growth, like a plant’s, begins beneath the surface—rooted, unseen, but crucial. In tonight’s devotion, Britt Mooney explores the foundational truth of being rooted and grounded in God’s love, based on Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3.
“…being rooted and established in love…” (Ephesians 3:17)
Paul writes that understanding the full measure of Christ’s love—the width, length, height, and depth—requires something first: that we’re rooted in it. Just as healthy roots anchor a plant and enable it to thrive and bear fruit, our spiritual root system must be anchored in the secure soil of God’s love and the community of faith.
We grow not in isolation, but in fellowship with “all the Lord’s holy people.” Love isn’t just an abstract idea; it’s a practice lived out daily with others. Britt reminds us that as we interact with fellow believers—especially in difficult or grace-filled moments—we begin to comprehend and reflect the boundless love of Christ.

π Your Nightly Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for sharing Your love with me. Establish me with the seed and the root of Your great love. Let the seed of Christ take root in my heart and grow strong through Your Spirit. Help me engage with Your family, where grace and truth can be expressed in real, practical ways. Teach me the width, length, height, and depth of Your love. Let my life bear the fruit of compassion to see You in my life.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
