As summer winds down, the transition into fall often brings both excitement and chaos. In tonight's prayer and devotional, we reflect on how parents may rejoice at the thought of children heading back to school, while kids may lament the return to routines. Summer itself may have been filled with road trips, family reunions, or unexpected challenges, leaving you exhausted.

Clarence shares how his own summer—filled with activity and unexpected job loss—taught him an important truth: God’s peace is not the absence of chaos, but His presence in the middle of it. Worry drains us, but God’s peace restores us. It changes not necessarily our circumstances, but our outlook.

This peace cannot be manufactured; it is a gift we must receive. It comes when we draw close to God and rest in His presence. As you transition seasons, know this: you can choose worry, or you can choose His peace. Only one leads to rest for your soul.

Tonight’s Scripture: Psalm 29:11

"The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace."

🙏 Your Nightly Prayer

Lord,
I am thankful that, though times change and seasons change, You remain the same. As I come to the end of one season and look to the next, please help me to keep my eyes on You. Father, You know how easily I drift toward worry when life feels chaotic. In those moments, draw me back into Your presence, where Your peace reigns. Tonight, I release my anxious thoughts and receive Your blessing of peace. Let me sleep soundly, knowing You are in control and I can fully rest in You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

🧘 Three Things to Meditate Upon

  1. Place your hope in the unchanging God, not in your shifting circumstances.

  2. In times of uncertainty, focus on what you know for sure: God’s faithfulness and presence.

  3. Peace comes not from striving but from receiving. Step into His presence to experience His gift of peace.
