近年來，社會上越來越頻繁在討論「男性困境」一詞。這集要來聊聊，男性困境到底是什麼，而我們又為什麼需要關心男性困境？
當社會對性別的想像太侷限時，任何人都會面對到不同的問題。相對於女性可能會遇到的諸多挑戰，男性會遇到的困境，主持人目前觀察到主要有三個方向：對經濟能力的期望、情緒的壓抑，以及因此而衍生出的交友的受挫感。
雖然許多困境屬於感受層面，比較難被量化，但還是有些數據可以參考：
根據台灣衛福部所發佈的統計，2023年台灣中壯年男性自殺死亡率為每十萬人21.7人，相較中壯年女性的每十萬人11.6人，男性是女性的1.87倍。
另根據內政部統計，男性大學肄業生人數逐年加速攀升，同時女性大學畢業人口數在2008年開始超越男性，並在2023年超過男性大學畢業生人口大約三十萬人。
在我們為女性的權益進步雀躍，以及為女性依然面對的挑戰而努力的同時，也可以多多關注周圍男性的生活處境。在父權結構之下，人人都是某種程度下的受害者。希望大家做為一起活在這個地球上的人，都能願意關心和自己一起活著的人正在面對的事情。
