"כשיש משבר בחברה הישראלית - צה"ל הוא השתקפות של החברה הישראלית. המשבר הזה משתקף לתוך צה"ל בהתחלה ניסינו להיות מחוץ למחלוקת, אבל המחלוקת נכנסת פנימה. אני מוטרד. אני חושב שיש איומים ביטחוניים, ויש אתגר גדול מאוד לצה"ל וזה מערכת היחסים בין הצבא לחברה הישראלית. אני רואה את הנוער הישראלי האיכותי רוצה להגיע ולהיות בסיירות. התפקיד הגדול שלנו זה לשמר את זה".
על הדתיים לאומיים בצבא: "דתיים לאומיים הם אוכלוסייה מאוד מאוד חשובה לצה"ל. צה"ל הוא צבא של כל החברה הישראלית וחשוב לנו שיהיה מכלל חלקי החברה הישראלית ולאפשר צביון לכל אחד לממש את אורח החיים שלו ואת האמונה שלו. אני חושב שהציבור הדתי לאומי תורם הרבה מאוד לצה"ל ושואף למצוינות, והייתי שמח לראות את זה עוד שנים קדימה".
