מבצע בית וגן שנערך בשבוע שעבר בג'נין היה שיאה של ההסלמה בטרור שיצאה מהעיר ומחנה הפליטים הצמוד אליה בשנתיים האחרונות. הטרור בג'נין לא נולד בשנתיים האחרונות, למרות שאנחנו בעיקר שומעים עליו בשבועות האחרונים, אלא למעשה מלווה את ישראל כבר עשרות שנים גם בימי תקיפת הראשונה וגם בימי האינתיפאדה השנייה, כאשר הקרב בג'נין היה הקרב הקשה ביותר והחשוב ביותר, אולי במבצע חומת מגן.
