"לא משאירים פצועים בשטח": סיפורם של עולי הגרדום לוחמי האצ"ל - י"ב באב תש"ז לפני 76 שנה. סיפור הגבורה של יעקב וייס, נער צעיר בן 18 שחי בהונגריה בתקופת השואה, התחזה לקצין נאצי ובעורמה הציל מאה יהודים ממחנות ההשמדה ע"י גניבת דרכונים ות.ז מהנאצים. סיפורו של יעקב וייס מתחבר בצורה יוצאת דופן ומפתיעה לאבשלום חביב, תושב ירושלים בתקופת המחתרות שבא ממשפחה דתית. נער צעיר בעל גאווה יהודית עם יכולת פיקוד ומנהיגות באצ"ל. יחד השתתפו בפעולות רבות כמו פיצוץ מועדון הקצינים גולדשמידט בירושלים והפריצה לכלא עכו. יחד עם חבר נוסף בשם מאיר נקר, הם נעצרו ע"י הבריטים ומקבלים גזר דין מוות, אותו הם מקבלים בפנים חתומות ובשירת התקווה.
על קברם נכתב: "עלו לגרדום בקדושה, בגבורה ובאהבה". מהם אנו לומדים מסירות הקרבה אישית וגבורה יהודית בלוחמם על ארץ ישראל וכיבושה. הסיפור הזה הוא אמנם סיפור מלפני 76 שנה, אבל זה הסיפור שלנו, של העם שלנו ותמיד תמיד נזכור שעם ישראל חי.
