סמל רועי פרי ז"ל, בן 19 משוהם, היה לוחם בגדוד 13 שבחטיבת גולני, ונפל בשבת השחורה במוצב פגה. אביו עופר מספר: "רועי היה ילד שכולו חיוך אחד גדול, גם במצבים הכי קשים במסעות ובאימונים. המוטו שלו היה 'לחייך את הקושי'. כל דבר שהוא נגע בו הפך זהב, הוא ניגן, היה בכושר קרבי, שיחק טניס תחרותי וגם קצת אימן. רועי רצה להיות בקרבי וכל כך שמח להיות בגולני. חברתו נויאל התחילה עכשיו קורס מש"קיות ת"ש והבטיחו לנו שהיא תשרת בבא"ח גולני. רועי חלם שהוא יהיה מ"כ טירונים בבא"ח ושהיא תשרת בו כמש"קית ת"ש וכך הם יפגשו. עכשיו היא מנסה להגשים חצי חלום שלהם, והיא מקווה שהוא רואה ומחייך מלמעלה".
הוא נזכר: "ב-6 וחצי הם קיבלו התרעה לחזור לבסיס בגלל הרקטות ונכנסו למיגונית. ב-06:50 חוסלו מחבלים בסריקות ראשונות. המפקד של רועי, סרן דקל סוויסה ז"ל, אמר שזו מלחמה. החל קרב מאוד גדול. באיזשהו שלב דקל ביקש שרועי יתגבר בש"ג ומאז הם נלחמו יחד במשך כמה שעות. ב-07:30 רועי אמר לי להגיד לכולם שהוא אוהב אותם, רק בשבעה קלטתי את המשפט הזה. לאשתי הוא אמר שהכל בסדר, כי לא רצה להדאיג אותה. בהמשך הוחלט שכל מי שבבסיס ייכנס למיגונית, דקל ביקש שמישהו יהיה איתו וייחפה קדימה כדי שהאחרים ייכנסו פנימה, רועי נעמד ישר לידו והם נלחמו, עד שנהרגו אחד ליד השני" | האזינו לשיחה המלאה בתוכניתם של הילה קורח ויאיר שרקי במסגרת מיזם "נזכור את כולם" שמביא את סיפוריהם של נופלי 7 באוקטובר:
