אם מסתכלים על מוריה רימון מהצד, עלולים לטעות ולחשוב שמדובר בעוד בחורה דתייה מגוש עציון, שנמצאת בשנות השירות הלאומי שלה וחייה חיים שגרתיים למדי לבת המגזר. אבל למעשה, מדובר באלופת טקוואנדו עטורת מדליות לאחר לא מעט תחרויות ברחבי העולם, כמובן רק אחרי שהתפללה שמונה עשרה.
"התפילה לה' שנייה לפני הקרב זה רגע חזק, הכי חזק שיש", היא נזכרת בחיוך, "אני מרגישה שהתפילות האלו, שבאות מעומק הלב, העניקו לי ניסים גדולים. אני זוכרת שפעם אחת טסנו לספרד לתחרות גדולה מאוד, ולפני שיצאנו לתחרות עצמה, אני וחברה שלי התפללנו שמונה עשרה. כשהגענו לאולם, גילינו שהתחרות התחילה שעה קודם! זה היה קשוח. היינו בטוחות שפספסנו את הקרבות שלנו וסתם הגענו עד לכאן. ומתוך הייאוש אני רואה פתאום את היריבה שלי מחכה לי על המזרן. בקושי התארגנתי. ישר עליתי על המזרן, בלי חימום. ממש הרגשתי שה' שמר לי את הקרב".
היא נולדה וגדלה באלון שבות. בתו של הרב יוסף צבי רימון, רבה האזורי של גוש עציון ומהרבנים הבולטים במגזר הדתי. למרות שהתחביב שבחרה נושא עימו לא מעט שאלות הלכתיות, הוריה היו הראשונים לתמוך בה ואפילו היו אלו שפתחו לה את הדלת לעולם המזרנים והחליפות בגיל הפעוט 9.
"כשהייתי קטנה הייתי מאוד היפר-אקטיבית ואמא שלי לא רצתה לתת לי ריטלין, אז היא חיפשה פיתרון אחר", היא נזכרת, "יום אחד היא ראתה בעיתון כתבה על חוג טאקוונדו חדש בגוש עציון ורשמה אותי אליו. הגעתי ביום הראשון וישר התאהבתי בזה".
