加拿大成了全球最大受气包？ Canada: Bearing the brunt of trade wars?

加拿大执政的自由党于当地时间3月9日举行党内选举，前央行行长马克·卡尼（Mark Carney）以压倒性优势胜出，这意味着他也接任新任总理。

自特朗普当选美国总统以来，加拿大面临日益严峻的挑战。特朗普和美国政府官员多次明示，加拿大应成为美国的第五十一个州。此外，特朗普政府宣布对加拿大和墨西哥的商品加征25%的关税，加拿大民众对这一系列言行强烈反应，激起了两国间的紧张局势，也大幅改变了加拿大国内政治格局。原本支持率奄奄一息的自由党通过坚决对抗美国的姿态，成功扭转了局势，支持率显著回升。

Former central banker Mark Carney will succeed Justin Trudeau as Canada’s prime minister, after emerging victorious in the Liberal Party leadership election with more than 85% of the votes. Carney's speech boldly criticised the United States' ambitions over Canadian resources and strongly affirmed Canada's sovereignty, stating that Canada "will never, ever be part of America in any way, shape, or form". Amid these political shifts, Canada faces mounting pressure, with Trump having previously suggested Canada join the U.S. as its 51st state and signed an executive order imposing a 25% tariff on Canadian goods. The situation is further complicated by China's recent announcement of retaliatory tariffs on Canadian imports.
