On this episode of Stock Movers:
- Sunrun (RUN) shares drop. Investors of clean-power stocks are running for the exits after a massive tax and spending bill that would gut former President Joe Biden’s landmark climate law narrowly passed the House of Representatives.
- Hims & Hers (HIMS) slump after Cigna said its drug benefit unit will cap out-of-pocket costs for weight-loss drugs at $200 a month for patients — posing a cheaper cash-pay alternative to the telehealth’s offerings.
- Williams-Sonoma (WSM) shares slump as Wall Street questioned the home furnishing retailer’s reaffirmed full-year net revenue guidance given its significant first-quarter beat. Bloomberg Intelligence considers the outlook to be conservative, while Evercore says it suggests the quarter benefitted from pre-buys ahead of tariffs.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
Bloomberg Audio Studios, podcasts, radio news, The Stock Movers Report,
your roundup of companies making moves in the stock market.
Harnessing the power of Bloomberg Data. Let's take a look
at some of the stocks on the move today.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I'm Paul Swingey along with Alex Steel.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
We're joined by Bloomberg's Natalia Kenny Javich. What are you
looking at here? In Natalia, Let's start with the stock.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Is down by percent at one moment todays. Yes, it
was solar Energy exactly, so at one point it was
down as much as forty two percent, the most ever
analysts downgrade the stock. Of course, it all comes as
New House Republicans version of this tax and spending bill
aims to end incentives on clean electricity production. Now, clean

(00:51):
electricity tax credits for sources including wind and solar could
end start in twenty twenty two. This is earlier than planned,
and also the bill would require those projects to begin
construction within sixty days of the legislation of the legislation
becoming a law. Initially, the version offered those credit tax

(01:13):
credits to exist until twenty thirty two. To Bloomberg Intelligence,
this is basically can desensifie those solar producers, renewable energy producers,
just to invest in this in that industry because it
could drop below the threshold which could stimulate. Yeah, it's
gonna it's not great. It's definitely not good for these guys.

(01:36):
What else are you looking at? I'm watching healthcare industry
Hymns and Hearst health shares. The stock is down by
five percent. This is a telehealth company platform that sells
obesity drugs. Early it was done by as much as
eleven percent, so people used to go to telehealth companies

(01:58):
to buy cheaper compounded verse versions of this brand versus
branded drugs by City Drugs. Right, because insurance typically doesn't
cover that. Now Signa, which is an insurance company which
works with La Lilly and Novel Notics, wants to cover
how much people typically pay out of the pocket, which
could be which could be about two hundred dollars per month,

(02:21):
and that could be really attractive for some consumers. And
as a result, we do see that the stock of
Hymns and Earth is under pressure today. All Right, we
got Williams so Noma exactly. Retail sector is largest hugely
important today. Of course, we see that results scheme above expectations.
The company sees revenue somewhere between minus one point five

(02:46):
to one point five percent. Net revenue came at one
point seventy three billion, still up four point two percent
on a year of a year basis. Bloomberg Intelligence is
saying that these guidelines and outlookly some room for a
positive surprise, but at the same time, some analysts were
really disappointed that there is no absence of guidance bump

(03:09):
considering that results came above expectations. It's down by eight
percent today.
