On this episode of Stock Movers:
- UnitedHealth Group (UNH) is lower this morning after it suspended its 2025 outlook, citing higher-than-expected medical costs for new Medicare Advantage beneficiaries, and expects to return to growth in 2026. The company also named Stephen Hemsley as its new CEO, replacing Andrew Witty, effective immediately.
- Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is getting a boost with the Trump administration preparing to announce a deal that would grant Saudi Arabia more access to advanced semiconductors, allowing the country to increase its data center capacity.
- Nvidia (NVDA) is following AMD as it awaits an announcement on a chips deal. The agreement would allow Saudi Arabia to buy chips from companies like Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices, but US officials are concerned about the potential for China to access these chips.
- FedEx (FDX) is trending higher this morning after Amazon reached a multiyear agreement with FedEx to deliver large packages for the online retailer, renewing a relationship between the two companies that ended in 2019. The deal follows plans announced in January by UPS to reduce by half the number of packages it delivers for Amazon by the end of 2026.

Stock Movers podcast, your roundup of companies making moves in
the stock market, harnessing the power of Bloomberg Data.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Let's take a look at some stocks on the move today.
I'm Nathan Hager, joined by Bloomberg's Kritty Gupta and Kritty.
We're watching United Health shares on the move after a
couple of big red headlines.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Good morning, Good morning, Nathan. United Health a major Doal component,
of course, a big weight on the S and P
five hundred as well, really taking a beating this morning.
I'll start with the headlines that are moving the market.
They are naming a new CEO, Stephen Helmsley, is replacing
Andrew Whitty at the head of United Health. At the
same time, they're saying that they're suspending their twenty twenty

(00:51):
five outlooks and the expenditures will be higher than anticipated,
and that they're going to be returning to growth or
expecting to in twenty six. Now this is quite the
quite the call out of United Health again. So u
NH is your ticker this morning. And when we keep
an eye on stocks like this which tends to move
the market, it tends to come with their entire sector

(01:13):
move not today United Health standing out like a sore
thumb down about seven percent trading at just shif three
hundred and fifty two dollars a share. It is by
far your biggest volume mover, both to the upside and
the downside. So Nathan U NH is the name I
think to remember today, suspending their guidance, suspending their outlook,
and talking about a new change in leadership. Let's talk

(01:36):
about some of the positive movers as well, though, Nathan,
because this is a broadly up market when you look
at some of the individual movers, and a lot of
this might have to do with what's going on right
here in this side of the Atlantic and specifically in
the Middle East. A lot of the tech exposed names
are catching quite the bid this morning. Some expectations here
that the Saudis are going to be investing in not

(01:59):
only a but also getting some more access to the
chip technology and the chip exports coming out of the
United States. That is crucial for some of the movers
this morning, like the like Enn Video and advanced micro devices,
so quick check on these. AMD is getting one of
the biggest boosts this morning. Hired by eight tenths of
one percent, trading at one hundred and eight dollars a share.

(02:20):
But then you have Nvidia in the green as well,
not moving in terms of kind of the market change
by much, only hired by one tenth of one percent,
but it is seeing a lot of volume, which is
interesting given that the move is not that large in
the pre market. So really keep an eye on this one.
It might be some option stories that are showing up
in the background. MVDA training at one hundred and twenty
three dollars a share, Nathan, I want to switch from

(02:42):
the technology space to the shipping space if I can
and talk about FedEx. Now, this is a company that
I am a little obsessed with, I will admit, and
it's a shame I have been able to talk about
it for too long. But FedEx starting to indicate higher
this morning by to the tune about five tenths of
one percent. It looks like we're getting a new customer,
and that's from Amazon. This is a really important story

(03:04):
for the shipping in the logistics space because Amazon always
used ups. They have their own logistics division. UPS would
handle the spillover. FedEx's big client was the US Postal Service,
which has also recently dropped FedEx in terms of pulling
back on some of that volume. So this partnership is
kind of a mash made in heaven because Amazon was
missing out from that ups partnership, FedEx was losing the USPS,

(03:27):
and now they are working together here and that is
moving FedEx share to the upside.
