Ron has lived his entire adult life as a black man in a white world. In 2016 he had both a crisis of his Christian faith as well as a racial identity crisis (you can guess why). Since then he’s been on a journey to reconnect with his blackness in a way he never has before. Joining him will be his Black BFFs and the “Bow & Dre” to his “Junior,” JD and Yolanda T. Cochran. Every episode they’ll discuss issues of race and religion, politics and pop culture. Shade will be thrown. Jokes will be made. And provocative conversations will be had. He’s just one nerdy Oreo tryna become a double-fudge brownie y’all. So go easy on a brutha. (Note: Season 1 originally aired via the Ebony Podcast Network when it was live.)

The title says it all, dontcha think? The Season 1 finale is everything you hoped for…and more! In this episode, you'll hear a DefCon 2 debate about friend chicken, the origins of chicken and waffles, and the answer to the age-old question—is there any other kind of mac and cheese besides baked?

Ron addresses the question he's avoided directly addressing all season. Does he answer it? Well, kind of.

A social media “Karen” doesn’t learn any lessons. Maybe we can learn from her obstinance. Also, should we change the title of this episode? Creative Commons music used in this episode:

Season 3 of Atlanta was weird AF. But I can’t stop thinking about it. (Hey, this episode isn't even about Juneteenth!)

On the heels of all the exciting Star Wars news in the world (e.g. the release of "Obi Wan Kenobi" and the Star Wars Celebration), we're pulling out of mothballs one of the early podcast episodes created by Ron, JD, and Yolanda. Part of Ron's old "Radio Film School" show, this episode is a fun discussion about the women characters in the Star Wars universe. (...

This is part 2 of a special 2-part series on Ron's faith journey. It's a journey that started in November 2016 with the election of a certain sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot as POTUS, and the evangelical church's support of said man. Ron was one of the millions of people whose faith was thrown topsy-turvy as he struggled with how to process what it means to no lon...

Ron totally forgot last week was Good Friday. There once was a time when he would've been at a Good Friday service, meditating on the stations of the cross. This Good Friday, he was writing a podcast script about how his Christian faith has been turned topsy-turvey. This is the first in a special 2-part series where we get into the faith aspect of Ron's journey. Oh, and Ron, JD,...

Let's cut to the chase. You're all tired of talking about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. But, as always, we have an angle that's quite different. Namely, what does Will Smith slapping the sh*t out of Chris Rock have anything to do with Ron's journey.?A lot, actually. This week we look at the theme of trauma and old wounds.

Ron finally watches a movie that saves his Black Card (although, some may say the jury is still out as to whether he even has one).
Other than perhaps music, no other art form plays as indelible a role and influence on Black people as the cinema. From how we are depicted to even how we watch it. So it’s no surprise then that our “hero” has some cinematic tastes that may catch hi...

Last month Showtime released a new 3-part documentary series called "Everything's Gonna Be All White." It is a creative, compassionate, and often biting look at racism and race relations in America. Ron loved it. Ben Shapiro...not so much. Well, technically, Ben hasn't seen it. Yet, his review of just the trailer got Ron so riled up, he made his own reaction video to B...

On February 25, President Joseph R. Biden nominated Judge Kentaji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court of the United States. If confirmed, Judge Jackson will be the first black woman to sit on the most powerful bench in the nation. (She's already made history being the first Black woman nominated! It only took a cupla hundred years!)
