Tanner (00:00):
Nother realm is a real
play Dungeons and Dragons
podcast where in Bruce Tannerand we'll try to make dumb jokes
and a compelling story. Some ofthe content within will not be
for children. But if thatdoesn't bother you, then here's
what happened on the lastepisode of Nother realm
(00:25):
you assholes decided that you'regoing to take our contract
Bruce (00:32):
a douche bag, here's our
fucking contract first and
approach you he approached me.
Will (00:36):
They're trying to steal
our contract there was ours
rightfully.
Tanner (00:40):
You think back and you
pull a name? Death. As you know
it is called Tish. And all elseis what people call a segment of
the afterlife.
Will (00:54):
Archie this is what's
known as the cobbled Causeway
and Elven ghost protects thisbridge.
Tanner (01:00):
Certain parts of you are
not moving where you'd like them
to as you unsheathed it, and goto swing at the back of Archie.
Archie watch out you try andshout out and you cannot
I was down here for so long.
Bruce (01:18):
I choose to knock him out
not do lethal damage to him.
Tanner (01:21):
You see six fall and you
quickly get underneath him and
after a lot of efforts you makeit up to the top of the stairs.
Will (01:31):
If you found this I didn't
make it back and he's going to
go help the ghost
Tanner (01:39):
so you you head back
down the stairs.
Will (01:42):
Well, he goes nothing or
everything
Tanner (02:33):
Hello everyone, and
welcome to the penultimate
episode of the Nevertherethey're the partner we meet the
Neverthere there and everythingends it's Oh, so welcome to the
end of everything.
Bruce (02:43):
Yeah, sorry guys we
maintain are sick and tired of
being our DM.
Will (02:47):
Oh, look, it's Navarro
there.
Tanner (02:50):
Ah, you guys. You guys
got eight episodes that amino
done.
Bruce (02:54):
Yep. That's
Will (02:56):
great. It was fun when it
lasted. I told somebody the
other day they asked how manyepisodes we thought we'd have. I
said in the 60s but what I meantwas 869
Tanner (03:04):
Oh in the 60s just at
the end of it
Alright, so so we got the we gotthe quick recap. You guys heard
the breakdown. What we'relooking at now is Archie just
snooze in a cave. Dreaming offixing
Bruce (03:21):
Mee Mee Mee Mee Mee Mee
Mee
Tanner (03:22):
I don't know stuff. And
then me remember we can see six
walking defiantly isn't the wordI want to use. The adjective
doesn't quite fit but walkingwith purpose down the stairs.
Will (03:40):
On that note what the fuck
he's about to get into.
Tanner (03:43):
Yeah, you're you're
trudging down the stairs on the
western side of the wound. Thestorm that had picked up when
you guys started to ascend isstill going, the rain is is
pummeling you. You can hear thatchanting chanting of it going
across in the places where yourmetal is exposed. Beyond the
(04:06):
armor that bathe gave you beyondthe blacksmith apron and robes
of Roderick that you're wearingbeyond the gloves and all the
makeshift sort of trappings ofof humanity that you've placed
upon yourself. This rain isbeating down on the body that is
(04:29):
you. You've had a lot ofrevelations recently and one of
them is that you need to dosomething about this person who
is trapped in this sort of inbetween state here on the the
midpoint of the cobbledCauseway, so you make your way
(04:50):
down. What are you thinking asas you're as you're going down
this path?
Will (04:55):
Honestly, the feelings
that she gave to him when she
possessed him The feeling of themassive hurt and the massive
pain that she was feeling. Thatis what's driving him to do this
because he's never, I mean, like, he doesn't know that. And
in fact, it's taught him morethan any of his experiences have
(05:15):
like, of what true sufferingfeels like. And this is, this is
some deep shit. So he's just,he's not really thinking about
the consequences of his action.
I mean, this could very well bethe end of sixth I recognize
that because this mother thisthis person almost killed six
before and or Well, I guesstechnically Archie did but I
(05:38):
think like with her not havingsomething to attack with his
body. He's wanting to kind ofthe reason he didn't invite
Archie to come over here becausehe would just attack Archie
again if he was possessed. Sothis might give him a chance to
speak with her more and maybehelp. That's kind of the whole
thought process here. Assumingthat Archie would have let you
(05:59):
go. No aren't you probablywouldn't have actually been
like, you fucking dumb as itwould have been just like father
Dale running back into the frayto fight the robot and save the
building. Quite possible. Yeah,it would have been like, I saved
your life and then you justthrow it away again. I can't do
it, Archie.
I say Rob, I say good. I savedyour life and then you just
(06:21):
throw it away.
Bruce (06:23):
I don't do it to Bangkok.
With the
Will (06:28):
accent that I can do you
want to hear? You want to hear
Spanish Hey, bro, I saved yourlife in the
Bruce (06:35):
night. Brava. Sejal
Will (06:38):
fridge. Robert,
Tanner (06:40):
what's your American
accent sound like a bro advice?
Will (06:44):
All right, look, we got to
commit to it a bit committed a
bit
Tanner (06:48):
commitment. What you
have committed to is this
renewed sense of resolve to tryand figure this this problem
out.
Bruce (06:56):
I'm also committed to a
terrible idea. But
Will (06:59):
essentially, I agree, kind
of
Tanner (07:05):
you I mean, there's
there's a, there's a bit of self
doubt, as you reach the bottomof the stairs and you begin
coming across the cobbledcauseway. The waves at this
point of the water rushingthrough the wound, have gotten
tumultuous, they are crashingagainst the land part and the
(07:26):
wooden bridge that connectseverything here. And you can
feel a certain amount ofresponsibility as each wave
crashes against the side youfeel it's like a heartbeat of
you moving closer and closer tothis thing that you need to
figure out. And as you make ittowards the center of this
landbridge you see the glow ofthe specter in the distance, the
(07:52):
feelings that you had beforestart to kind of rush back
there's like some feeling ofconnection that you're still
getting. And it is just this, this longing to be done with
suffering. So you're edgingcloser and closer to just this
this feeling of needing to betowards the end. Which is ironic
(08:12):
because you've you've personallybeen almost to the end of
everything you were in the driftrealm, you've been to that mid
place where people go before theend of it all. And this person
longs to be there and no placewhere you want it to escape. And
eventually you you make it uptowards them. It is this once
(08:33):
again this elven woman thistheory all sorts of translucent,
being floating there in this oneposition, crying on the edge of
the cobbled causeway
Will (08:47):
try to think of exactly
what I want to say here because
I know that I got one
Tanner (08:51):
chance it matters.
Will (08:55):
I've met Dan, he's waiting
for you.
That's it. That's what I say. Idon't have much time as keep it
succinct. Those are the wordsthat I choose to say to this
Tanner (09:09):
person. Alright, she
turns and once again this this
village of this this elven womanyou can tell that at one point
like she was beautiful, but thisthis ghost has just this however
long she's been here. So manyyears of suffering, have etched
her way etched its way into herform. And she turns towards you
(09:30):
are hollow eyes fixated on you.
And for a moment you can seesome sense of humanity returning
towards them. You can you canactually see eyes where it was
just blackness before. Go aheadand roll. Persuasion for me.
Will (09:46):
Does this count is
helping? I didn't nominate I was
trying to help her.
Tanner (09:51):
It did before and it
does now.
Will (09:53):
Okay. Because I am trying
to help her. But I didn't know
if I had to say let me help you.
or something?
Tanner (10:00):
No, no, no, no. Yeah. So
just as a reminder, what why,
why does that matter?
Will (10:07):
Because I get advantage.
Oh, I'm so glad I got advantagebecause it was a one and a 1515
plus zero
Bruce (10:15):
due to his curse that is
like a boon, but
Will (10:17):
it saved my day minus one.
Sorry. Okay, you gave me anadvantage and something that I
am terrible at a terrible point, though. Yeah, no, I know, it's
it works out pretty good.
Tanner (10:29):
So she peers at you. And
you can see for a moment that
the horrifying visits return, and she begins to rise and
quickly rush towards you. Butthen something stops her you can
feel this still this lingeringconnection between you, then
there is something inside herthat is holding her back waiting
(10:52):
for something more, you haveanother chance to say something
else.
Will (10:59):
I felt your pain. And I
felt it. It's unlike anything
that I've ever experienced. Iwould like to help you.
Tanner (11:12):
When you finish, you can
see the struggle between her
torment and her wanting to moveon to something else in her
face. It's like it's twitchingback and forth between emotions.
And eventually one of them takeshold. And it is a more
(11:33):
complacent sense of emotion asshe pauses her posture pulls
back and she slowly lowers tothe ground. And this time, her
feet connect with the wetsurface of the cobbled Causeway
and she begins walking towardsyou. She has a longing for what
(11:55):
you you were talking about, youcan tell this much. And she's
trying to reach the connectionthat you had before. And you
begin to hear some words, it'sas if her voice is resonating
with me.
My name is Serena mots. I am apriestess of one month, Dane.
(12:21):
I've been trapped here for solong. So many people have passed
him by as I stayed attached, drowning, suffering,
and it doesn't end. And I justneed
(12:43):
and you can see your face kindof switch back to that of anger.
Someone to understand. Shecontinues to approach slowly.
Will (12:55):
I'm guessing that not many
people survive encounters with
you. Because I completelyunderstand your suffering at
least. But I've got to know whyhas taste not called your name.
Tanner (13:11):
When you first when you
mentioned others suffering you
can see flicks of light allaround and there's a multitude
of them and you get the feelingof of sort of connections of
suffering throughout. Yousurmise that these might be the
souls of those who have beentaken by this ghost. And then
(13:31):
when you mentioned Tish shestops and with this foot hitting
against the ground you canactually hear the sound of a
barefoot hitting against wetstone and she stares at you.
Hey, she has not called me.
Will (13:57):
I met Tish. I escaped Tish
it seems like you want to go
where I escaped from.
Tanner (14:05):
She nods maybe I could
put in a good word. She cocked
her head to the side and sayshey, I am not free because I am
trapped. I've been trapped forso long.
Will (14:26):
I understand where where's
your body trapped.
Tanner (14:32):
She cocked her head and
then her whole body without a
single portion turning her wholebody turns and floats and points
in the water nearby
Will (14:46):
course. Fuck me. Of course
you put it in the water. Buck
Bruce (14:52):
me. I'm a robot. Man.
You're good. I'm a robot sink.
Will (15:00):
If I do I would have made
a net
Unknown (15:03):
or no let's let's be
clear here by the rules and
mechanics of d&d Five e youstill have a swim speed. So you
cannot it so you can swim.
Will (15:11):
I can swim. Okay,
Bruce (15:12):
well this time your
aspect
Will (15:14):
I also don't need to breed
so there that is a real big boon
for me that's
Tanner (15:22):
the location where she
points I mean a large wave
crashes and and rolls and youcan feel it cascading against
your feet. The storm is stillbrewing outside as she solemnly
points to a location on the sideof the land bridge she's
Will (15:40):
pointing to the side of
the land bridge like is it down
in the water though?
Tanner (15:44):
It all 100% She's
pointing down towards the water.
Will (15:48):
Okay, just in case I don't
make it back. First of all, it
was very nice to meet you. AndI'm sorry that we had to meet in
such a way as earlier. I hopeyou liked my body
but I realized that rocky Bhagatsecondly, on a scale of one to
(16:13):
10 How would you rate ourinteraction
Tanner (16:19):
she looks at you very
confused
Will (16:22):
by a jump in the water.
Tanner (16:24):
You can hear you can
hear this this resume voice as
you dive out into the water. Ifyou don't
Unknown (16:31):
succeed, you can stay
here with me forever
Tanner (16:36):
and you swim down deeper
and deeper. I need you to roll
you are diving down looking fora potential ancient body. I
think it's going to be athleticsto try and and during this
current both of the the woundrushing through rushing from
north to south as it does andthe storm that's going on. It's
(16:58):
going to be very difficult totry and find something down
here. So I need athletics and Ialso need a perception check.
Will (17:04):
Both Okay. Both of those
are good for me. Very badly.
Yes. Okay. Okay, the first one Ialready said in my head. The
first ones in that 20 Wow, Iwrote in that 20 athletics. 20
athletic my robot asked isbeaming through water like It's
(17:25):
butter.
Bruce (17:26):
You have you have not no
because that would be worse.
Tanner (17:29):
That would be that would
be worse. Oh
Will (17:30):
yeah. Like it's jello.
Wait, wait.
Tanner (17:33):
Water. Like it's like
it's like it's water?
Will (17:36):
I have to water. How about
this? I describe myself as
something better in the water.
Okay, okay.
Tanner (17:41):
Yeah. Okay, so yeah,
being as that you don't need to
breathe. You dive down into thisyou keep all your armaments
everything on which which sortof began to drag you and pull
you you know, your your apronand everything in this current
that's down here.
Will (17:58):
Should be
Tanner (18:01):
shouldn't make it more
difficult for you to travel down
here. But think about that.
Yeah, you push forward so hard.
That would have made
Will (18:09):
it worse. Yeah, I would
have just taken off my clothes
underwater if you started sayingthat. But thank God. Yeah.
Tanner (18:15):
Not yet. But regardless
of all that, you are able to
press forward and and I mean, you swim. So well, in these
conditions. The only problem isis finding so what do you get
for
Will (18:28):
that? Here's for that
second net 20 in a row. Look all
I bought the camera off if itshows because I know you believe
me, otherwise, you won't believeme or to leave
Tanner (18:36):
you want to do you're
Will (18:38):
not gonna I won't. Okay,
that's
me. It's not terrible. It's an11. It's not in that 20. There's
11 plus five plus 516. Okay, 16.
Okay.
Tanner (18:48):
All right. You look
around for her body you think,
Will (18:54):
okay, if something
Tanner (18:56):
is getting caught here,
it would most likely be on the
land bridge. Like there's noother structures down here. So
you're rapidly turning. The onlything that you're fighting it's
not it's not your breath. It isjust the current that could
quickly take you away were youto pause for a second. So you
pull yourself back and you tryand maintain your position as
(19:17):
you scan the sides.
Will (19:20):
I use my flashlight eyes
like
Tanner (19:23):
no, you you do use your
normal as regular robot eyes and
you scan the side of the KabulCauseway and you do end up
seeing shredded cloth beingtugged across the the structures
(19:44):
that are holding this bridge up
Will (19:46):
in the distance. All
right, I go to this ready cloth
for sure. For sure. For sure.
You start assuming that lookslike a I mean, does it look like
just cloth or can I tell us likea dress right now you could just
Tanner (19:59):
tell it This cloth. I'm
gonna go to just,
Will (20:02):
it's just it's just
interesting enough like that
looks like okay, maybe that'syeah,
Tanner (20:06):
I could just skip this
whole interaction be like okay
you see it and you go find itbecause that's that's what is
good. You see pinned againstthis this rock star this natural
rock structure, this skeletalbody, any flesh that remains, I
mean, a limb is missing there'sthere's been so much that is one
been washed away by time, thestrips of fabric are barely
(20:29):
hanging on at this point. And itis just this skeleton with a few
remaining bits and bobs andcloth pinned against the wall
down here you can see the chainsthat they use to keep her tied
up are still wrapped around herwrists and legs. And it's this
that's really keeping her tiedto
Will (20:49):
the stone. Okay, I put
them I take as much as I can and
put it into my satchel, which Idefinitely still have on because
I did not take it off.
Tanner (21:01):
Okay, okay. All right.
So you like the, like the thingsor the bones
Will (21:09):
of the bones, I want all
of her body every every part of
her body that I can reasonablyget.
Tanner (21:17):
Right. Okay, so as you
start to mess with the chains
and try and unhook it here, Imean, you realize that what's
attached is still going toprobably be attached if you just
try and swim up. I mean, beingas you're not breathing, you'd
have time to brace yourselfagainst the stone and pull these
things off. So instead of liketrying to take parts and stuff
in in your satchel, you justgrab on to Oh, I just grab it.
Okay, yeah, and you kick as muchas you can and reach the surface
(21:39):
of the water. You are buffetedagainst the side of the cobbled
causeway a couple times as youtry and write yourself and bring
this skeleton up. But youeventually do and you lay it on
the stone as their rain cascadesaround you.
Will (21:56):
My next goal is to take
this body and bury it. So I need
to not only scale the wall, butI need to scale it with the
body. I cannot leave this behinddown here.
Tanner (22:07):
Okay. You bring yourself
back up on the causeway and you
lift this skeleton in reference,like
Will (22:16):
is there like a fucking
ramp? Did I just jump off
Tanner (22:18):
the side? You just
jumped up the side like it's not
okay. It's a few feet. Oh, I
Will (22:21):
thought it was like high
above and I was gonna scale it
all backup now. Yeah, okay.
Yeah, you're fine.
Tanner (22:27):
It's a few it's been
because yeah, I thought you were
clipped on the waves. I said thewaves are crashing over it. It's
pretty low.
Will (22:33):
So when you say I brought
it back up to the causeway I'm
basically standing in front ofthe ghost again. Yeah, you're
Tanner (22:37):
standing from the ghost
game.
Will (22:39):
Huh? Who did this to you.
Tanner (22:42):
She is standing there
when you come back up and lay
the body, the skeleton down onthe ground. And she begins
approaching you with an arm outand she pauses with her hands in
front of your face. Sort ofseeing if it's okay for her to
touch you.
Will (23:04):
I don't think six
understands. But he's just gonna
stand there and look at her.
Tanner (23:08):
Okay, without going she
does step forward and connects
her hand to your forehead. Andwhat you see is is an ancient
people, they have things thataren't as well developed as
things are now you can recognizethat easily. And it is sort of
(23:31):
an island lifestyle. You get youdo get the feeling of where this
is. This is an island to thenorth of the wound. And this is
place these thoughts andfeelings you can feel one with
Dane, which is the only the onlyisland up to the north directly
(23:51):
above the wound. And what youget from this is she was a
priestess meant for somethingimportant that her thoughts just
deal with importance a duty ajob. It doesn't seem like
sacrificial. It just seems likelife devotion. And these dark
(24:16):
figures come one night the thefaces that you see aren't.
They're disconnected. They'reunrecognizable. They're demonic
in a sense that they just looktwisted. But
Will (24:29):
they're just blobs are
just her attacker. She doesn't
necessarily know who they were.
Tanner (24:33):
Exactly. So she is you
feel fear and it is this fear
that is that is driven into us.
She is tied up in her chains andtry and pulled away and
eventually she is in the woundin rushing in the water and
struggling her way to just stayafloat and she is trying so
hard. And she manages to stayafloat until she is pinned
(24:55):
against cobbled Causeway and andjust taken under by the currents
and that is where she passes.
She pulls her hand away. And youcan see these sort of glowing
tears streaming down her faceshe is at this point without the
anger straight in your facequite beautiful.
Will (25:19):
It's I haven't met too
many people. I haven't met too
many beings. I can tell youthat. I have not met many people
with your amount of suffering.
And if we were in differentstates of being, I think I would
like you very much. I'm going tobear your body now. Will you
please tell Tish that I saidHello from the other side and
(25:44):
I'll see him again soon. Also,I'm sure and you'll notice when
I when you see it, yourpaintings are going to be very
interesting.
Tanner (25:57):
She smiles at that and
you can see her form sort of
shift and she starts todisappear. But she points a
finger down at a locket wrappedaround her neck and puts both
(26:21):
hands out and gestures towardsyou to room members some part of
this carry on.
Will (26:33):
I take the lock it off and
put it on in front of her I will
never sell that thing. It's mineforever. I love it. Okay,
I love it and I love you.
Tanner (26:43):
She She crosses her
hands over her heart and she
slowly disappears in these thesespecs as they flutter off and
all the little lights that kindof flicker on and off around you
begin to disperse as well. Thestorm lessons it is just a
dreary rain as you pick theskeleton up and make your way
(27:05):
back to the stairs and make yourway back up. You find a clearing
in the trees nearby the cavewhere Archie is a place that you
think would be a decent place torest and spend the next few
hours digging a grave andplacing her in it. You bury her.
(27:26):
Are there any last words you'dlike to say
Will (27:31):
to the most beautiful elf
I've ever met? I've never met
another elf. Not to my knowledgeat least. Oh wait Bateson elf to
the most beautiful elf I've evermet.
Tanner (27:42):
Wow. Okay, you you you
feel a smile in this this
dwindling connection thateventually severs as you you and
you're sort of midnight vigil.
You make your way back to thecamera.
Will (28:00):
I hurriedly go to erase
the note because I made it back
I want to I want to scribble itout
Tanner (28:05):
okay, as you make your
way back you do take a look down
at this locket. It is a rustedoval locket made of silver and
you spent some time trying toremove some of the rest to get
it to open and it eventuallydoes and when you look at it it
reveals pieces of parchment thatare long faded by the water so
(28:28):
you you can't tell what at onepoint was on this.
Will (28:33):
Give me an Arcana roll
please
that's a seven plus 512 Totalthis thing is magic. Oh the lock
it or the paper
Tanner (28:49):
the lock it lock it I
Will (28:50):
figured as much I just
want to make sure. Yep. Okay.
I'm running back to thecampfire. I'm running back to
the campsite to erase the note.
Okay, so the Archie doesn't knowanything.
Tanner (29:01):
All right as you as
you're coming back and you're
not trying to sell thereanything you're trudging.
Chinchin junk. Archie,
Will (29:07):
give me
Tanner (29:09):
your passive perception
is what 17 Yes. Let's say this
has taken you three hours to godown to her come back up, dig a
hole bury her. It is approachingsunrise Archie you have regained
(29:29):
everything from a long rest yourpoint of exhaustion is gone. And
you're waking up seeing verycold embers of a fire no six
nearby but a note that you findpretty quickly as you hear
clunk, clunk clunk, clunk, clunkand sea six approaching nearby.
Bruce (29:53):
Is there any like actual
heat to the embers at all or is
it completely out? Completelyout?
Will (29:58):
All right. Don't read that
note. Don't worry about it. It
was nothing. I just went for.
Wow.
Bruce (30:06):
Okay, do you actually
yell that at me?
Will (30:08):
Yes. Alright, so Artie
looks at six. You got to notice
and he goes, All right,
Bruce (30:15):
my navall gets so twisted
up about it and he crumbles it
up,
Will (30:19):
passes it over your
shoulder. Okay, it's
Tanner (30:22):
on the side of the cave
wall. Six, you
make your way back over andArchie's like
Bruce (30:27):
you lay me out cuz you
Will (30:28):
were looking at the
perimeter. Oh, yes. I just
wanted to know where are we atthat stuff on the note a bunch
of times
Bruce (30:36):

Bruce (31:09):

Bruce (31:20):
Why you brought it back
here with the fox Roma. You
might she's a fucking ghost. Shetried to
Will (31:24):
tell me her body I buried
your body so that she would not
go solid body. What's
Bruce (31:29):
wrong with you?
Will (31:30):
She's passed on. Look,
Archie. I would never
Bruce (31:33):
I will certainly not
stay in his fucking cave one
second longer in a fuckingghost, who possesses a robot
tries to kill humans packing andstuff apparently.
Will (31:41):
You know what? That's
fair. I appreciate your
understanding. Archie. What wasyour name again? Tanner. Serena
mots?
Tanner (31:49):
Now that you've
mentioned, you know, her
possessing things with souls iHey, there's some evidence that
six has a soul. Hurray.
Bruce (31:58):
Oh, yeah, that went
right. That goes right over our
cheese head. Right over artisanThere you go.
Tanner (32:03):
Okay. All right. So
um, you guys are operating on
most on full capacity. Archie isbackup after a long rest. Six. I
mean, the funny like exhaustiondoes exhaustion take time lay
more time than just a long restto wear off? I think it does.
But it doesn't matter. So youguys,
Will (32:26):
time to get rid of the
exhaustion point is what you're
saying.
Tanner (32:28):
I mean it.
Maybe I don't remember therules. Don't Don't ask me. Don't
ask me. Don't ask me. I don'tremember the exhaustion rules
exhaustion you just it's flavor.
So you guys pack up your campand begin to make your way back

Bruce (33:01):

walking fast paced.
Will (33:05):
Meaning
Tanner (33:06):
there's this a bard at
the edge of town. Coming up
sounds exactly like Archie.
Yeah.
Will (33:12):
I was gonna say sounds
exactly like Sarah Barelas Yeah,
that's
Tanner (33:15):
it. Oh, it's like a
combination of the two. Archie
This is
Will (33:19):
honestly it I didn't know
how it felt to long to see
something but what a sight forsore eyes Am I right? I don't
really know what sore eyes areactually it looks down on his
clothes. Alright first
Bruce (33:39):

Will (33:52):
Yeah, this is actually the
dirtiest I've ever seen you RG

Bruce (37:32):
boy for fuck sake was
made out of
Tanner (37:36):
and and Baeth opens the
door and looks at you. It looks
at door and goes.
The door is reinforced. What areyou doing?
Bruce (37:45):
I'm knocking you know you
should really not have a door
that hurts people who knock
Unknown (37:49):
well you really
shouldn't have knock so hard. It
is not this kind of thing. Buthe
Bruce (37:53):
was reinforced. How are
you going to not hear me if I
don't know what card
Will (37:57):
he does have a point. I
don't think you have a point.
This
Tanner (38:00):
is just how doors work.
Bruce (38:01):
Like I mentioned my I'm a
scientist
Tanner (38:05):
What is your what is
your particular field that you
are saying
Bruce (38:08):
door knocking alright.
Tanner (38:10):
I that is very
specialized.
Will (38:12):
It is. Listen vapes. We've
been through a lot it's five
That's not nice. It's not but
Tanner (38:23):
it's I'm not going to
I'm not going to lie to my two
favorite people my two of newbusiness partners you have come
back I am so pleased to come in.
Let's get you
Unknown (38:32):
not clean there is no
bath here but come on in here
opens the door for the two ofyou.
Tanner (38:38):
The two of you enter and
he He hurriedly walks over pours
a couple of cups of hot tea andbrings it over to you and say
so. Tell me Were you
Will (38:50):
successful I really should
raise your right Mike
Tanner (38:56):
you should raise them I
paid very well for this
particular I
Bruce (39:00):
should double it I should
make you double it for what we
went through you've got nofucking idea how awful it was.
Why don't you tell me six tellhim
Will (39:09):
well, you see and he gives
an entire read. He gives an
entire synapses synopsissynopsis. He gives an entire
synopsis of the of the events doyou want me to do you want me to
do that?
Tanner (39:22):
I want you I want you to
okay, I want you to do that.
Will (39:25):
Okay, so from the
beginning. Firstly, we found the
cart that brought in the therobots into into your town. It
was hidden. It had taintedspring fire on it. And from
there we met with Anlin to SaadAnlin brought us in and showed
us the way through the caves. Atevery key point Archie just nods
(39:48):
his head. A borrower was veryquiet, but I love her. I like
her. Love. I've started torealize love is maybe Tuesday.
wrong and then from there we metSt. Sebastian underneath the
underneath the wound. He gave uspowers my mask is out. Yeah,
(40:16):
artists got a cool new tattoo.
And I and you can grow a tail.
Hi. I have a crack in my maskand it won't come off. I think
we met Rangi what he he threwbombs specifically at the black
hole collective they werescaling slowly
Bruce (40:36):
it was fantastic actually
all through the bomb it was a
perfect hit right in middle ofhis blood and that's what I
learned
Will (40:41):
to high five wait
Tanner (40:45):
the black hold
collective was involved.
Will (40:50):
They were I thought they
had the quest from you Weren't
they on our side?
Tanner (40:55):
What know the Blackboard
collective hasn't been in town
for like months.
Bruce (41:04):
Ah, excuse me.
Tanner (41:08):
Like they're they came
around saying that they might
need to put the group out hereto try and make this request and
they were part of the you know, they showed the adventuring
contract, but then they neversent anybody that was out here.
Will (41:21):
So who? For months, who
two weeks ago when we were in
town. You remember that? Right?
Yes. Who killed the robots? Whenyou did i i was ahead of egg.
Tanner (41:39):
I mean, I guess he looks
for a moment. There's this this
strange look of thinking on hisface. No, I mean, Archie, Archie
killed the bots. There was athere was confrontation and
something's happened and then wemet in that was pretty much
Bruce (41:57):
anybody. Strickland by
any chance on his company, like
I'll collective
Tanner (42:02):
none of that rings a
bell? No. Strict yes,
Bruce (42:05):
that means they're
fucking gone six.
Will (42:07):
Wait, hold on. I agree.
That should be good news. Butyou know what we were in our CI
that's not something that Ipersonally would wish on many
people. Probably zero peopleactually.
Bruce (42:24):
But I was already I was
listening. I was too fucking
excited to know that that douchebag was gone.
Will (42:29):
He he did say some very
mean stuff. Okay, well, wait, so
Oh, no. Did we leave Rangi
Bruce (42:40):
when we told him to run
after he did what he did.
Will (42:44):
I hope that he did. Okay,
so the black hole collective? Is
there still a thing right?
Tanner (42:53):
Oh, the black of
collective is a large group of
fucking corporatist adventuringacids. They like, they make
contracts, they set up teams, they go out in places, they're
all named after Black things. Soyou know, this is like, it's a
normal thing for them places butthey just throw away our yet.
All
Will (43:11):
right, hold on one second.
This.
Bruce (43:14):
So nobody ever came by
here and stole the contract from
under my nose. So what you'retelling
Will (43:19):
me you gave us the
contract?
Tanner (43:22):
Once again, you kind of
see like the like, just strained
thinking on his face. No, no,there was you came by it was
fine. I gave you the contract.
Like we agreed the night before.
And you came the next morningand you took it in you went off
(43:44):
and you you left and you've nowcome back with with the evidence
that there was some guy namedDarko Malka up there and then he
was doing experiments. I mean, that was that was the
Will (43:54):
that was it? Yes. I got
one more question for you. Yes.
Bruce (43:59):
Is the God who leads
people to the split Anlin she
knows nine by any chance.
Will (44:03):
The guy that took you to
the splinter ruins? Yeah. You
know, is the house posted upthere? Looks like I live there.
Small fella was unknown. I don'treally see him up close. There
is
Tanner (44:18):
there is no Annette
takes in the one through the
splendor lens as far as I know.
Will (44:25):
Okay, so I guess let me
continue the story after we saw
the black hole collective, whichyou don't remember. It's fine.
They weren't there. Maybe? Maybeyou have is mistaken. Oh no,
they were definitely there.
Bruce (44:37):
They'd score in the
middle of the chest with a bomb
full of Skid legs. Whatever thehell that is. Somehow poisonous
spiders millipedes that playsout.
Will (44:44):
Well, either way. We met
with Professor Argo malerkotla
He's from Castro Haven. Have youever heard of him?
Tanner (44:52):
This name is not
familiar to me. No.
Will (44:55):
Well, that's that's fair.
No, no strain thinking there. Nounless you can Belka who might
not might just not know that andthen from there we met death you
metaphysically Daesh
Bruce (45:11):
Wait hold on he's missing
out you're missing a key part
here six there's a big giantblackfog that consumed
everything came out or somefoods or something flew towards
the tower Olga Malko was in allthe lights flickered and wasn't
weird bright purple they broke afreaked out with their some
bombs at it. It consumed us wegot some weird Peyton's don't
(45:31):
worry about that part. That wasnot important.
Will (45:37):
nivara Don't forget about
Nevada,
Bruce (45:39):
right yet. Titan kid,
whatever. Anyway, wait,
Tanner (45:43):
wait, pass. Nevada. That
is not a common name that you
met. Nevada is the name of theGod of truth.
Will (45:50):
Oh, shit. Wait, say that
center again.
Tanner (45:56):
Nevada is the name of it
is the common they come in
religion. It is the name of theGod of truth.
Will (46:02):
You met the God of truth
Unknown (46:03):
like what this is this
is crazy. The things that you
were telling me this black thingcame in it took you and you went
through another place you metdead you met taste the
embodiment of death. And thenyou you met you met two gods in
one place.
Bruce (46:16):
Well, we did see the
whole River of Souls thing he
had gone on to or everybody wasbelow the surface. You couldn't
touch on a force StrikeForce orgo down. I don't know what
happened. And we took off
Will (46:27):
with a hug. Hold that
thought
Tanner (46:30):
for a moment. He walks
behind his desk and opens up a
chest and he starts rummagingthrough some things. He pulls
out a book. And he comes backand he flips through the book.
He says okay, like you. You metdeath, and you went to a place
with a bunch of waves.
Will (46:48):
So you're,
Tanner (46:48):
you're telling me that
there is a thing that took you
two? And he points to this page?
And it reads the drift is is youdid something took you to the
drift? Yeah, exactly. You youwent to the drift? And then you
you you found Tisch you foundthe gallery? That's a thing. You
mentioned paintings and hepoints it to the Pacific Pat
(47:09):
that's specific
Bruce (47:13):
to that place was fair.
And I'm saying what's in yourpast based and it's not pretty.
Tanner (47:19):
At that he lowered the
book. And he looks at that
you're very serious. There is nomore but Archie we didn't join
his face past.
Will (47:28):
He looked at six. Well, he
looks confused. This, did you
look at my paintings or not? No,I
Bruce (47:39):
didn't look at your
paintings.
Will (47:40):
We did not see your
paintings.
Unknown (47:42):
What am I say? You guys
you could not travel to the
drift and mutation in the VAR. Imean, the drift is above all
else. That is That is crazy.
Talk to everything
Bruce (47:52):
that I said. That's why
they were all below the level
then because it's aboveeverything makes sense. Makes
sense. It does.
Will (47:58):
Yeah, I understood it. We
definitely were there. But I
don't know how to explain it.
Okay, say this was
Tanner (48:07):
some sort of shared
fevered dream while you were
trying to find things pleasecontinue on with this epic
quest.
Will (48:14):
Did you not feel the
quake? splinterlands biggest one
in years. There was a tremorhere is the largest quake in a
splint and lens in the lastthree or four decades roughly.
Who told you this? Ranji thegoblin. Well, it is the biggest
one to come before he was everborn. Also, don't don't forget
(48:38):
we were there. We felt thequake. I mean,
Tanner (48:42):
it loads earthquake.
We did feel tremors here. So Iimagined that that might be
actually true. I'm just verycurious of all these. Look, you
came back. You made your wayfrom here to there. You come
back with information whatexactly was going on in Leylen?
Ruins?
Will (49:01):
Research for robots. Like
you. Wait, hold on let someone
else. Um, I don't rememberhonestly, the semantics
Tanner (49:16):
of what they were called
aside. And so there was more.
Basically the things thatattacked the Leylen were being
built, or researched or createdthere.
Bruce (49:25):
Might actually they
weren't built to attack Leylen
They were built to come retrievesomething. And apparently
somebody got no way.
Will (49:33):
I'm fairly certain that
something was me. My head. He
was specifically looking for me.
He had a very big interest inme. And now I must find a person
named Cantelli. Have you everheard of Cantelli
Tanner (49:45):
this name? I don't know
it? Well, I will say this and
his face scrunches for a momentas he closes the book that he
has. I I was good thinking thatif you came back And you were
successful in finding out theinformation and I found you
believable that maybe we couldenter into a sort of
Will (50:08):
business partnership.
Tanner (50:11):
I am on the edge at this
point, like, you know, there is
a lot that you have brought backto me that I am sort of
Bruce (50:18):
have you ever heard you
call me a liar base? I'm not
necessarily
Tanner (50:21):
calling you a liar. We
all have our own experiences.
Have you
Will (50:25):
ever heard of a ghost on
the bridge of up north? On the
crossing between over over thewound? There is another bridge
or a crossing to the north? Yes.
Hmm.
Tanner (50:42):
I mean, no, I have not
heard of a crossing or a ghost.
It's probably
Will (50:46):
because it's holding.
Well, it's hot. It was on Excuseme. It was fixed. It's no
longer. No, very.
Bruce (50:55):
Not crazy. Rob has gone
to that one.
Will (50:57):
I told her to tell Tish.
Hi. Because I met him.
You I'm a robot. I can't lie toyou. That's unfortunate. That's
a fever dream. It must have beena crazy fever dream.
Tanner (51:10):
Listen, I will give you
a bit of advice. As someone who
has been on the precipice ofmeeting death so many times, you
may be should not send them somany messages.
Bruce (51:21):
Well, to be fair, he said
he'd come for us when he was
supposed to and
Will (51:26):
when you can't really stop
there with it. Death comes for
everyone. One last question. Imentioned St. Sebastian. Uh huh.
Have you ever heard of him?
Tanner (51:38):
There are many saints in
many different religions.
Bruce (51:41):
Yep. You have heard of
religion? It sounds like
Tanner (51:44):
it sounds like you
clearing your throat now. All
right.
Will (51:48):
That's That's what he said
to us. But he said it was of a
dying god he's the lastworshipper of a dying god, do
you know of any dying gods?
Tanner (51:59):
No, there there are no
dying Gods there are the the two
year set in the name it thereare the ascendant which there
are quite a few and then fewpeople know of the antipathy
ends but they are no one reallyworships them, they will death
is actually one of them is oneof the entities. Well,
Will (52:19):
then, let's keep this
concise since part of our story
is unbelievable. And I canunderstand why just using my
logical brain caster Haven wasdoing research on forced beings,
it is no longer happening willnot be happening anymore. There
(52:40):
is so much in I was going
Tanner (52:45):
to say a short bit of
travel but it was a long
distance from here to there andthere to back.
Will (52:54):
Look,
Tanner (52:54):
I am not going to say
that what you are saying is not
true. I am just going to saythat this is all
Will (52:59):
very unlikely. However,
Tanner (53:04):
we are currently in a
position to make
Will (53:08):
a bit of money together.
Now,
Tanner (53:10):
the proposition that I
spoke of earlier. I would like
well if I was more ready to dothis earlier than now, but I
believe that you are people thatget things done what people are
used loosely. That get thingsdone, and I could go ahead and
(53:32):
pay you out. 775 either Dr.
Anlin to start did contact mesaid you helped her through.
Didn't know if he made the dataon the other side.
Will (53:42):
That means Anlin wasn't
taken Archie. It's good. I like
Anlin Well, yeah, that's like
Bruce (53:53):
a large distance away
from where that same kind
Will (53:56):
of thing moved awful fast.
Bruce (53:58):
I was kind of sort of
blocked off awful fast to it.
Did
Will (54:02):
I guess. blackhole did
stick in that general area?
Look, I'm sorry. Ignore that.
You this Yeah, no problem.
Unbelievable stuff for you.
Believable for us. Okay, look, Ibelieve you on what you found
there. That is fine. But
Tanner (54:23):
you know the fencer for
flights that you have between
there and here aren't that
Will (54:30):
don't matter to me.
Tanner (54:31):
I care about results you
have brought those. So I will
still give you this proposition.
I can give you the 775 the 750plus the 25 for helping out
Anlin or I can give you 400either and they will offer a
partnership or patronage ofsorts. Archie,
Will (54:51):
I don't need either. Maybe
for some clothes, if you can
spare some for me. But this thisdecision is yours. I'm
listening.
Tanner (55:01):
Good, all right. I like
an eye for a
shrewd, shrewd, shrewd, shrewdbusiness.
I like an eye for shrewdbusiness. Sorry I mess up on
some words sometimes I willoffer you 400 And with my
patronage you get a permanentplace at the edge so rooms
(55:23):
board, so you will remaincomfortable here in Leylen as
you go out and set about yourquests, I will also offer and I
can't believe I'm doing this atthis point to horses and access
to my personal stock where youcan find you know, any sort of
things you need for adventures.
Will (55:44):
What do you say? I've
never ridden a horse before
Archie. That sounds dope as fuckSwinson looks at bathe. Let's
the offer hanging in the air fora little bit. Oh, yeah. Bravo.
Sounds good. All right, let's dothat. Okay, he reaches out his
(56:06):
hand shaky, shaky.
Tanner (56:09):
You guys shake on it.
And he actually, as you'retalking about the finer details
of the offer, he leads you backtowards a backroom. And as you
can see what looks like anythrowable weapons or ranged
weapons ammunition that youmight need, along with basically
refills for everything that's inyour packs. So anything that you
would typically have in yourbackpack is located in here. So
(56:31):
instead of going out, I buyrations. Between every quest you
can come and refill here. Itmakes it easy for a fucking
podcast.
Will (56:41):
Yeah, it is. It's a very
good idea.
Tanner (56:43):
Thank you, demon. I'm a
genus and species.
Will (56:47):
I get a crossbow. I take
that immediately that you
Unknown (56:51):
don't get a crossbow.
He doesn't have crossbows inhere, but he has like crossbows.
He has crossbow bolts.
Will (56:57):
He has a total crossbow.
Give me that motherfucker. You
Tanner (56:59):
have to go buy a
crossbow.
Bruce (57:01):
I take six hand axes.
Nice. Okay,
Tanner (57:04):
wait, do you have you
have you have you have hand-axes
know you had javelins?
Will (57:08):
I know but I wanted to
change about putting an extra
socket you do that? That isreasonable. You could take as
many I take crossbow bolts. Itake 20 of them.
Bruce (57:18):
All right, I leave. I
leave the javelins. Okay.
Tanner (57:21):
You said the javelins
down you get yourself set up
with some throwing axes. Sixtakes a bunch of crossbow bolts.
And as he's packing them away,he turns and notice in the
corner covered in cobwebs,
Will (57:31):
a light crossbow. Oh,
dope. I get one.
Tanner (57:38):
I feel like having a
chopping frickin crossbow. I
Will (57:41):
was about to shop for one.
Yeah. Okay.
Tanner (57:43):
All right. So you guys
have agreed to a patronage with
Baeth. So now you're basically apart of outward enterprises, you
get access to what I mentionedbefore. Baeth shows you that
sort of room setup. As long asyou're going out and doing
quests and coming back andresting your downtime can be
spent at the edge where you getcomfortable room and board
(58:04):
separate rooms. The horses areconnected to the stable of the
edge. And you can you can fillup between every mission.
Really, it's it's downtime time,at this point.
Will (58:18):
Before I leave bathe, I
would like to ask you one more
question. Bathe? Um, do you knowof a map that maybe shows
powerful beings where they are?
I don't really have
Tanner (58:34):
much access to magical
things here. But I mean, I
imagined some things like thatexist is sort of a warning
signal or something like that.
Will (58:44):
Do you know of anybody
that in Leylen that would know
about magical items. And I kindof touched my necklace that I
have. There are few
Tanner (58:54):
people in Leylen who
would be able to help you out.
We sometimes have travelingwizards that come into town that
can help identify things thatpeople find the off to the east.
But really the only person thatyou can they can really help you
in town is is probably going tobe Elias Finch doting doublets
(59:15):
and other grateful garments. Noworries. We're
Will (59:18):
headed there. Next. We
need some fresh new digs. That's
what the children say.
Bruce (59:27):
Someone may or may not
have mentioned that what I'm
wearing is a bit outdated. Ididn't really appreciate it.
Tanner (59:33):
I mean, it is a
particular style. You can be a
fan of any sort of
Will (59:38):
looks you up and down.
Yeah, I mean pins you might beout.
Bruce (59:43):
You're not helping the
situation at all.
Tanner (59:46):
I come from a different
culture. It's
not it is the culturaldifferences.
Will (59:52):
Oh, insulting is a
cultural difference. Hi. If it
makes you feel better, I thinkyou look nice. Thanks six. I
always count
Bruce (01:00:00):
on you.
Tanner (01:00:01):
I would say it is dapper
AF.
Will (01:00:03):
That's That's my words.
Bruce (01:00:05):
I don't trust you wait,
Will (01:00:06):
that's my words it says
well
Tanner (01:00:09):
okay, all right, you
guys you guys sign a couple of
agreements with bathe youquickly add
Bruce (01:00:15):
to the agreement that I
am not responsible for anything
that any negative consequencesthat come with entering a
partnership with me he initialsit.
Will (01:00:23):
Okay I when I sign I just
signed what the fuck ever but I
use my welding stuff and it justrips the paper all up when I do
it both
Tanner (01:00:36):
points to a different
spot on the page and hands you a
pen, please like an actualsignature would be much
preferred them whatever weldingutensil you're trying to use.
Just put the number six rightlike that
Will (01:00:51):
is fine. I think I do know
how to draw the number six.
Okay, I try my best I'm I pressreal hard on that paper you can
decide whether it rips or not
Tanner (01:01:02):
give me give me a
strength roll.
Will (01:01:06):
Oh, it's only five. So
it's a decent signature.
Tanner (01:01:10):
It's a little a little
hard edged but it's a six you
guys sign up this contract. Hehands you the keys that you use
at the edge and you guys headout I'm guessing over two doting
doublets and other gratefulgarments. Absolutely. All right.
You guys make your way towardsthis.
Will (01:01:29):
We go to this store taters
want to
Tanner (01:01:33):
say it for me say it for
me
Will (01:01:37):
doting doublets during the
building the tablets and other
grateful garments. Thank you somuch.
Tanner (01:01:43):
I appreciate you. I
appreciate the shit out of you.
You guys make your way up for
Will (01:01:47):
six episodes at this
point. So
Tanner (01:01:49):
your whatever it was,
it's good because it's the best
storein town. When you come up to the
storefront it is this large doorwith an arch at the top. The
sign is hanging out front isthis sort of what are the you
remember the Pokemon cards thatyou turn and they they shine?
What is that called?
Will (01:02:08):
Yeah holographic
holographic. Yep, yeah, yeah, so
Tanner (01:02:11):
it is on this it's sort
of this holographic as it moves
in the wind. They tailcoats onit in an in this very lovely
font that is carved into thewood here. doting doublets and
other grateful garments is it'sfantastic is best name you've
ever heard you go in the door, the bell up top rings. And you
(01:02:33):
walk in to find all of thesecolorful clothing. I mean, some
of them are regular adventurerslooking guard but most of the
things that seem to be placedhigher above it are these
colorful garments. These sort ofsuits with with tails at the end
of them some sort of fancifuldouble breasted coats. You see
(01:02:55):
over on the side some top hatsand canes, things that match all
these motifs of sort of thisfanciful, rich people looking
shit but but if you're a littlebit more flamboyant, is what you
get in here and you see offbehind the countertop.
Bruce (01:03:14):
And this is what's in the
style today.
Tanner (01:03:18):
At least here you see
this little hand pop up behind
the counter putting stuff up ona shelf behind the counter. And
they don't seem to have noticedyou as you've come in, they are
humming a tune off to themselvesand singing their own song as
they're filling shelves. Ipunched the door
Will (01:03:42):
Don't worry Archie I got
this one. And I opened the door
like a normal person.
Tanner (01:03:48):
You guys are already in
it. He just didn't hear the
bell. But when you guys kind ofstopped around the corner, the
stacking of shelves stops. Andyou can hear the sound of a
stool being moved across thefloor. And this halfling jump up
onto the stool and look out atboth of you. What you see on the
(01:04:10):
other side of the counter isthis halfling with short curly
blond hair and a violet doublebreasted tail coat that is
longer than he is it would drapeto the floor where he walking
and he looks out at you and sayshello and welcome to doting
doublets and other gratefulgarments. I am Elias What can I
(01:04:35):
do for you?
We need some new digs. That'swhat the children say. The child
I
Bruce (01:04:41):
don't know where you
learn that there's little we
haven't seen a child.
Will (01:04:46):
Don't show up here.
Bruce (01:04:49):
We haven't seen a child
there's no children in this
town. In fact, I don't knowanybody got here.
Will (01:04:54):
There's I mean people here
fuck there's plenty of children.
Bruce (01:04:58):
Well, they must look at
them. They're off Walk in brick
houses. Is this guy like evenfor a halfling? Just fucking
know this
Tanner (01:05:04):
guy. Okay. Elias is not
is not ripped is a normal like
Will (01:05:11):
I, I see, you might be in
need of some new clothing
Tanner (01:05:19):
and he looks you up and
down Archie. And then he looks
over at you six. I mean, andjust a whole new thing here.
Will (01:05:28):
Just give me bigger of
whatever he gets. We're Team, we
got to match twinsies Yeah,
Bruce (01:05:36):
yeah, I'm gonna need, I
guess a modern version of what
I'm wearing if possible. Oh, Imean,
Tanner (01:05:42):
I like to slightly retro
look, but we can certainly
modernize it. How do you feel
Will (01:05:48):
about color? I hate it.
You hate black on black.
Bruce (01:05:56):
Except for Clemson I show
him the best
Will (01:05:58):
crimps. Oh, that is, you
know what,
Tanner (01:06:01):
I have a couple pieces
of fabric that I can probably
bring that out with if you'relooking for a sort of crimson
suit or we're looking for singlebreasted or double
Will (01:06:09):
breasted, single place,
got to be able to move
Unknown (01:06:14):
to shame. I think
double breasted would really
accentuate your chest very well.
But that's fine.
Tanner (01:06:20):
And he'll hop down and
move over to the side and
actually start swiping through anearby coat rack. And you lose
sight of him as he's movingthrough this stuff. Listen, I
have a couple of things herethat you might enjoy. Are you
looking for something? Well, Idon't want to say normal,
magical or non magical.
Bruce (01:06:44):
Archie looks in his
little gold bag and you guys
probably nonmagical consideringwhat I'm walking around with.
Tanner (01:06:51):
He appears around the
side of the clothes that he's
rummaging through how much hegot.
Bruce (01:06:56):
Yeah, run to 450 Mark or
so. Hmm. All right,
Tanner (01:07:02):
the irregulars, and
he'll walk over to another stack
and start pulling through theclothes there. And he actually
does pull out a crimson tailcoat. It is single breasted but
it does have longer tails at theend. For you, they probably come
down to the top of your thighs.
But he brings it around andlooks at it and looks at you.
(01:07:22):
What you notice about thisparticular coat is that it has
six arms. I I know it's It seemsstrange, but let's just try it
on
Will (01:07:33):
for me. Alright, okay. It
throws it on.
Tanner (01:07:40):
You put it on, and it
fits very well. If you want it
to be perfect, you might have toget a little bit of tailoring
but it's almost as close as youcould ask for off the rack. He
looks up at you and says nowthat put the vest, very nice. I
mean the the black lines on thesigns of it going with the tell
(01:08:03):
you this. Go ahead and bringyour arms out to the side and
snap both fingers for me. Allright, you snap and what happens
is you can feel a tug at yourribcage basically. And you can
see the other arms fill andraise and you can see these
(01:08:26):
ethereal hands poking out of theother four sleeves next to you
Will (01:08:32):
that's that's a pretty
cool trick.
Unknown (01:08:35):
I call that you're
going to love this. I call that
the coat of arms what is stupid
Will (01:08:54):
that's so good so you that
entire setup was for that
fucking stupid ass joke
Bruce (01:09:11):
How long did you have
that in your head?
Tanner (01:09:13):
Since the name of the
store
Will (01:09:18):
he's been holding that
seventh episode you're holding
that Joe
Unknown (01:09:27):
Oh in the months before
this was the creation process
Oh,
Bruce (01:09:33):
how did you how did you
keep that? No, I'm gonna fuck
Tanner (01:09:37):
my God. Okay.
Bruce (01:09:39):
The tears off further
record however, Archie's cope
cannot be pointed in his tailsas to be flat tailed, more
similar to an overcoat notnecessarily like a court coat.
Okay,
Will (01:09:49):
just to clarify, that's
fine. Um,
Tanner (01:09:52):
look, I can I can see I
can see a little bit of doubt.
The fit that you have oneverything else And the straight
lines might not suit itself somuch for tailcoat, I could have
that be a little bit more thefunction of a form if you'd
like. But, you know, I like yourcut. And I think I could part
(01:10:16):
with that particular piece for350 Unless you were looking for
something else. And as you'rekind of filling this thing out,
and moving your arms, I'll giveyou little info. So this is a
beautiful crimson top coat withblack trim, of course, as the
six sleeves that are currentlyFULL OF THESE ETHEREAL arms. On
(01:10:40):
the tag that you pull up fromthe side, it says explicitly
this once per long rest, thewearer can summon spectral arms
and the unfilled sleeves, eachsleeve acts as a mage hand with
a range of 15 feet.
Will (01:10:52):
So 350 might be something
that I'm in could be willing to
do. I actually looks down at theat the mage hands. Alright, but
how do I use them? Oh, well,
Tanner (01:11:06):
you just snap whenever
you want them to, you know, come
out to play. And then you justsort of think real hard about
what you might want them to do.
Now, a couple of notes, theycan't lift more than 10 pounds,
they can't attack for you. Theycan only interact with specific
objects. Really, if you've everheard of the spell mage hand,
it's that specifically but therange is cut in half.
Bruce (01:11:31):
Archie thinks real hard
about one of his main hands
passing him a hand axe. Yeah.
Okay.
Tanner (01:11:37):
So the bottom hand
reaches down towards your side
on the back of your pack, pullsout reaches hands, that hand
acts to the hand above it, andthat hand hands it to you.
Will (01:11:48):
Handy that. I love it. I
make a deal. Sure. 350. If you
put six loops here for me axes, and a little wolf on the chest.
A lot of this and he points out.
Oh, I thought you were actuallygoing to haggle with me. Sure.
That's fine.
Bruce (01:12:09):
How I love this thing is
perfect. All right.
Tanner (01:12:12):
Well, if you don't mind
taking it off, I'll go ahead and
get it tailored for you. I haveyour measurements in once again.
He looks you up and down. Sowe'll get you all set up. I'll
chop those tails off. We'll getit a little bit more squared. Do
you prefer shoulder padding orno?
Bruce (01:12:25):
Not in place now.
Tanner (01:12:27):
Good. I like a good
drape on the shoulders.
Wonderful. Are the buttons onthe sleeves are non functioning
to that's very important.
Otherwise getting it tailored.
It just makes it weird. No onewants functional buttons on a
Will (01:12:38):
suit jacket. It's true.
They don't know.
Tanner (01:12:41):
Is there anything else
you're looking for? I have
plenty of other things. I havelittle trinkets and items or any
other clothing you're lookingfor some some other clothes to
match this. I have some pantsthat I'll throw in there for you
if you're looking for allcrimson.
Bruce (01:12:57):
Archie takes a look at
it. His pants have fucked up or
they're
Tanner (01:13:00):
I mean, they're not too
bad. They're currently covered
in mud. There's a few tears fromyour last encounter with the
ghost. But beyond that, the onlything that you notice is that
they don't match the jacket thatyou're getting anymore. Gotcha.
Bruce (01:13:17):
Yeah, I'll take that.
Sounds like a good setup.
Tanner (01:13:19):
I'll throw them in.
You'll have a matching suit on amatching suit on a matching
vest. So
Will (01:13:25):
you masked men
Tanner (01:13:30):
in the robes of fraud
trick, a blacksmith apron and
blacksmith gloves. And he'llreach up and sort of move some
of the things out of the way.
Will (01:13:45):
armor from the west.
Interesting. What can I get you?
armor from the west. He's He'stalking about the armor that I
have on me that Baeth
Tanner (01:14:01):
gave you Yeah, that
you've been a great Oh,
Will (01:14:02):
yeah. Well, if I can be
completely honest, I'm pretty
partial to everything I'mwearing. It was given to me by
Father Dell. And I like him.
He's very nice.
Tanner (01:14:15):
He is a dear man. But
his sense of style is
Will (01:14:19):
it leads rather Edgefield.
That is true. He's okay atchess. Sure. Okay. Do you want
clothes? Do you have anythingthat would fit me?
Unknown (01:14:32):
Certainly I am.
Probably the best tailor you'llmeet in at least Leylen so I can
get you set up for whateveryou'd like. If you don't mind
six,
Will (01:14:45):
shallow cut in for your
hair. You know, Archie, I trust
you more than I've ever trustanyone in my 40 years of
remembering living
Bruce (01:15:00):
He kind of gives a wide I
looked
Will (01:15:03):
alliances and that's it.
What was it? What I mean? Ally,Spanish French allies face Okay,
thank you. Alright, so for mybrother he likes to get
Bruce (01:15:16):
rough and tumble so to
speak. So you would need more
something more form or morefunction over form if you follow
my drift in.
Tanner (01:15:25):
Are you? Are we also
looking for a suit on that end?
Or are we looking for?
Will (01:15:30):
I would like to, if I'm
going to change clothes, I would
like to look like we're a team.
Tanner (01:15:39):
All right, well, I don't
have another one of those. And
they'll point
Will (01:15:42):
out okay, I can't afford
it. Oh, all right. So yes, sure.
Tanner (01:15:49):
They'll go back and
rummage through and pull out
this sort of nice button uplinen shirt. And a a crimson
vest that isn't the same sort ofthe detail and design as
Archie's vest. But oh, pull thatout and set it down and look
through a lot of his blazers andcoats and things like that, and
(01:16:12):
keep shaking his heads at him.
Instead, we'll pull out a pairof black pants that are the same
black as the sort of trim on thevest that he's laid out. And
then he'll pull out one morevest. So the two that he has
laid out one is a plain crimsonwith black trim. And the other
is this sort of Paisley design.
(01:16:35):
In crimson, the Paisley piecessort of shine on the floral sort
of patterns and things likethat. But once again, with black
trim as well. The first one hasblack buttons, the second one
has horn buttons. So he laysthis stuff out and says okay,
look, same basic outfit anddesign. Still dapper still.
Ready to go if you get my gist.
One is a little bit moreflamboyant, the other is a
(01:17:00):
little bit dialed back. Do youhave a preference between
Will (01:17:05):
the two? Your choice,
Archie.
Bruce (01:17:11):
Let's go with the more
flamboyant version as this
gentleman here likes to talk alot radical fit in perfectly.
Alright.
Tanner (01:17:18):
So he'll, he'll put the
other vest back, leave the
Paisley one up and scratch hischin for a moment look at you
and look over. And he goes tofind this, this cloak that he'll
pull off as well. And set itover to the side. I think this
might be helpful as well. Andit's a very simple black cloak
(01:17:41):
that he'll lay out with it.
Very, very functional. It is theprobably the most simple thing
in here. But he'll lay all thesethings out together. These of
course aren't magical. So theprices is far less. Are you
looking for anything inparticular, I have a few things
that I think might be might benice for you. If you have any
(01:18:04):
money leftover, let me beforeyou decide, pull these things
out. And he'll pull out a
Will (01:18:13):
simple black ring and a
Tanner (01:18:20):
little jar. That is the
shape of a small bird said these
two things are are probably theyou know, the budget versions of
the nice things I have in here.
This particular ring will makeyou better It spells at least
damaging ones. And this littlejar will allow you to imitate
(01:18:41):
bird sounds and call them toyou. It's
Will (01:18:45):
very pleasant to do either
of these interests. You were
just the clothes. I do likebirds, huh? How much of all of
it? How much for all of it?
Well, the close 25
Tanner (01:19:06):
either. I'd say if we
tack on the other bits
100 was the jar. The ring is abit hard to part with. It's
actually worth more than thejacket. So I don't know why I
brought it out. I just kind ofthought it would be sort of a
fitting thing. So maybe we don'ttack that on to the price.
Bruce (01:19:28):
tenors baiting me. Are
you going to steal? Oh, fuck
yeah, absolutely. All right.
Let's see what happens. Mybrother is no problem. We're
gonna leave the ring off forsure.
Will (01:19:39):
Let's look at all this
stuff here. All right, and he
goes and he's looking holding upall different clothing. Okay,
I'm sorry, six. You got whatyour choices here? I'm good with
your choices, Archie. Alright, then we'll take everything about
the ring.
Tanner (01:19:59):
All right. So that would
be
Unknown (01:20:02):
100 either. He gives
him the other 100 either, okay.
All right.
Bruce (01:20:07):
So the entire time Archie
is looking for an opportunity.
Okay, I'm gonna go swipe thisring. I don't know what you want
that to be. So is
Tanner (01:20:15):
it is is six catching on
to this is the question.
Bruce (01:20:19):
Fuck no, probably not.
Tanner (01:20:20):
Okay. All right, so then
by yourself damn chance as
you're flipping through this andlifting up the clothing, your
your you play setting the ringto the side and intended sort of
flipping underneath go ahead androll sleight of hand.
Will (01:20:35):
non-natural 20 Wow. Okay,
all right,
Tanner (01:20:41):
you slip this thing
under, and flick it up your
sleeve and then angle yoursleeve up enough to where it
doesn't fall to the floor. Itdoesn't seem as if Elias has
noticed, and he'll come aroundthe counter and begin to package
everything up. He very quicklysort of does a few cuts and
(01:21:04):
stitching to get your jacket newjacket fitted to you. And will
hand you back everything inthese nice boxes and will take
your gold. And he nods to you asyou pay him. Thank you so much
for your patronage. If you'dlike to come back anytime,
please do we get new things inall the time and the styles that
(01:21:27):
you've picked, I think are justgoing to be lovely, very
cohesive for the two of you tobe walking around. I don't think
it's going to be too much in theway of twinsies. So you should
be fine there. But people willknow that you're
Will (01:21:38):
a unit. Understood.
Bruce (01:21:42):
Thank you for all your
work your allies.
Tanner (01:21:44):
No problem.
Will (01:21:45):
Maybe we'll come back for
that ring. I hope you do.
Tanner (01:21:50):
And he kind of starts
looking around as the two of you
begin making your way out. Youopen the door and the bell rings
tingling and you're back out onthe street.
Bruce (01:22:03):
Well keep going. Just
keep walking. I don't say
anything.
Will (01:22:06):
That guy was very nice. I
like him. Yeah, is it a good guy
knows his way around clothes? Hedoes.
Bruce (01:22:14):
I'm sure we'll go back
there.
Will (01:22:15):
I'm super excited to try
on my new suit underneath my
apron.
Bruce (01:22:22):
You're not supposed to
you know what?
Will (01:22:24):
I sorry. You do not wear
my apron. Now you really should
rather delegate it to me. He'sgot a chair.
Bruce (01:22:31):
I know you hold on to it.
Don't get rid of it. But it'snot meant doesn't go with it
doesn't go with what he gaveyou.
Will (01:22:38):
Oh, I don't know.
Bruce (01:22:40):
All right. Don't worry.
I'll help you. I'll help you getready before we leave next. Next
time.
Will (01:22:45):
Understood. Well, thank
you very much, Archie. After
your lovely shopping trip, the
Tanner (01:22:51):
two of you make your way
over to the edge since bathe has
gotten you some rooms there. Yougo inside and pansy doesn't seem
to be working this evening. Butyou're able to get your two keys
to your two separate rooms fromthe young man who's working
behind the counter. He points inthe right direction and you head
(01:23:11):
back. You settle down for thenight and enjoy a fairly
dreamless and uninterruptedsleep until the early hours of
the morning. When you hearsomeone yelling downstairs. I
demand to speak with ArchibaldTheodore Cromwell right this
(01:23:33):
instant you get him down herenow or else there will be hell
to pay
