CONSIDERANDO QUE, aunque el número de títulos en braille publicados anualmente ha crecido ligeramente, es dramáticamente menor que el número de títulos de audio publicados; y
Mientras que, por una variedad de razones, es mucho más fácil que nunca producir y distribuir títulos en braille; y
Visto y considerando: que estas razones incluyen, pero no se limitan a: disponibilidad de títulos digitales, uso de lectores electrónicos NLS gratuitos y otros dispositivos braille, y sistemas confiables de traducción braille.
AHORA, POR LO TANTO, RESUÉLVASE por el Consejo Americano de Ciegos en convención reunida virtualmente este XX día de junio de 2025 que nos unimos a Library Users of America para solicitar que el Servicio Nacional de Bibliotecas acelere la expansión de los títulos en braille disponibles más allá de los números limitados ahora disponibles. y
RESUÉLVASE ADEMÁS que se solicite a NLS que informe a ACB y Lua en la Convención ACB en 2026 sobre las decisiones tomadas en respuesta a esta resolución.
