Episode 7 –E-Dancer - Heavenly

It’s first thing in the morning, early December, in the late 1990s. You step out of your bedroom and feel an early winter chill occupying the rest of the yet to be heated house. You’ve very recently moved into this new place, a large house on a forgotten street in a sleepy location called White Lake Township, about twenty miles outside of Detroit’s city limits. You’ve long called this town your home, life here is very quiet, people generally keep to themselves, and the silence is all-encompassing. As you make your way into the kitchen today though, something is different. The echos and chimes of an instrument, coupled with a repetitive beat, pulse at lower frequencies from your new neighbour’s house. You walk over to the window, peer outside in the direction of the source of the noise, but see nothing unusual. Nevertheless, the subtle sonic barrage is unrelenting, so you open the front door in order to investigate. Once you’re outside two things are certain, the air is chillier, and the music is louder. You ascertain that the music is clearly coming from next door. The people there moved in even more recently than you have, so recently in fact, that you haven’t even met them yet. As it will turn out, your new neighbour is the music producer and dj, Kevin Saunderson, and the song you are hearing, before the rest of the world has had a chance to, will soon be known by many as "Heavenly"...
