Had a rough few days. But we're moving forward! Here's an update on the Cluster 1 project.
I am creating original work and have two weeks to do it. This is an update on what's to come: Cluster 1, due at the end of February. Stop by for more info: https://coalitionfordigitalnarratives.org/
Started the Coalition for Digital Narratives this year. This is an update on what's to come: Cluster 1.
Stay tuned for more short updates!
It pains me to do this. It pains me to let go of projects I enjoy doing so much, but oftentimes, life is a lot to accommodate and a decision had to be made. I'm cutting down on a few creative things to make sure I can deliver awesome episodes of Arts Calling and Creative Drive! I'll be sharing behind the scenes updates in another fashion, but for now, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time t...
Back on track! I've been thinking this month of not only spooky things, but how to be more actively in my local creative community. This is when the soapbox comes out, while I desperately watch the words out of my mouth slip down my chin like a river on its way to the delta of clarity.
Anyway, here's a few things to start writing about:
Just working on things. And processing. Much love.
We made a film a while back. I think it's time I celebrate my friends' performances in this project. I am forever grateful they helped bring to life a culminating piece in my Idlewind stories.
That film project is called The Tumble, featuring characters from several of my stage plays, and I'll be re-releasing it this year with some corrections and sound updates.
I talk about some no budget lessons I learned du...
Here's a few things on my mind and some links to get the creative brain jumpstarted:
9.10.21 - What The Matrix taught me about writing, links to inspire you, and Matrix Resurrections trailer
Here's a few things that jumpstarted my creativity this week:
*Quick Correction: I said William Goldman when I meant William GIBSON as the author of the massively influential Neuromancer. I am tired and I don't edit this podcast bec...
Yesterday was the one year anniversary of Mervyn McManus' death. I found out about it on the anniversary of his passing. He was a musician I found on myspace long ago. I wanted to share a few words and celebrate the work of someone I never met in person, but whose music made a difference in my life.
Here's what I could find on Merv:
Here we go!
Let's talk about the following 3 links, because they inspired me plenty.
Also, I want to talk to you about making the very difficult choice to do nothing. Also also, I would like to talk to you about a particular moment I had recently that made me reach for religion, and has me thinking about the spirituality of my work. I tho...
Hi there, here's a rant for creatives!
I talk about my love and hesitation to collaborate with technology.
I wonder if the Storybot Writing Prompt App is any good, and I also talk about making poetry with Google Translate. During this, I discussed how I use the CLOSAT system (character, location, object, situation, action, theme) to catalog all of the ideas and details I gather from life and everything else. Also had a dream ab...
Welcome to the new and improved Writing Record! I feel there is purpose in the air. Check it out!
I'd like to share a lesson about not deleting your super important files. Unless you're looking to have an existential sense of atonement for that which is gone for good.
Also, along with project updates and observations about craft, the new thing I'll be doing on this show is sharing content I have found onli...
I am pleased to announce Arts Calling is now available! A new podcast to celebrate creatives across disciplines and cultural backgrounds, but also a case for the arts as the gateway to empathy, healthy lives, and strong communities. https://cruzfolio.com/arts-calling-podcast/
I'm processing some of the changes this will cause in my podcasting output as well as the reason behind this podcast.
Okay, here’s a long overdue Writing Record about where I’ve been the last month. My sincere apologies for the delays on the current projects. I hope you’re well and much love,

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
So here we are friends, I am relieved to be done with the week:
I'm trying something new. Episode 1 of what may become a limited series in the next week or so. Today I have the pleasure of chatting with my pal Trevor Lutz about life, the cosmos, and how he approaches his craft as a writer.
I may be wrapping up the Writing Record in favor of this. We shall see in the coming days.
Lunchbreak episode where I decided to experiment with Bandlab during a podcast session, to test out a feature on my Zoom L8. And so today you get a very weird podcast about:
Current and classic episodes, featuring compelling true-crime mysteries, powerful documentaries and in-depth investigations.
This is what the news should sound like. The biggest stories of our time, told by the best journalists in the world. Hosted by Michael Barbaro. Twenty minutes a day, five days a week, ready by 6 a.m.
If you can never get enough true crime... Congratulations, you’ve found your people.
It’s a lighthearted nightmare in here, weirdos! Morbid is a true crime, creepy history and all things spooky podcast hosted by an autopsy technician and a hairstylist. Join us for a heavy dose of research with a dash of comedy thrown in for flavor.
If you've ever wanted to know about champagne, satanism, the Stonewall Uprising, chaos theory, LSD, El Nino, true crime and Rosa Parks then look no further. Josh and Chuck have you covered.
