The audio drama adaptation of the 2012 novel “Waiting in the Silence” by Rosalyn Berne. On the island of Nantucket a woman named Oriana disconnects herself from the ubiquitous, conscious AI known as “VISHNEW.” To protect her unborn child from a court-mandated in utero connection of the fetus to VISHNEW, Oriana attempts to hide. But VISHNEW’s gaze is everywhere so her flight to freedom is dubious. An eerily prescient, post-apocalyptic tale about AI in a world ravaged by climate change, where a woman’s fertility becomes a currency.
