Speaker 1 (00:00):
You know, when I turned Dynamite on tonight, I had
one thought on my mind. You know, we have Blood
and Guts coming up next week. Full Gear is ten
days later, right, so they got these two big events
coming up. I thought to myself, there's something missing here, right,
you know what AW needs. I know exactly what they need.
They need more belts. That's what this company needs. I
(00:21):
don't think they have enough championships on the show. And
my prayers were answered because Tony kNN and Tony Shravanni
had a social media video that they posted earlier today
before Dynamite went on the air and lo and behold,
we are getting another championship here in AW. Good, good, finally, finally.
(00:45):
Hopefully we'll get a few more after this. Yeah, that's
the big takeaway from tonight. On an episode that just
wasn't very exciting, was the announcement of a brand new
championship coming soon to AW. It is the AW National Championship.
Like this is a college football season, the National Championship
(01:09):
is going to be decided in a casino gauntlet match
at Full Gear, which is another thing Tony Kahn loves
very much. He loves his casino gauntlet matches. He loves
doing them, so he's gonna decide a new champion. This
is basically the spiritual successor to the old NWA national
title that has not been seen on TBS in over
(01:30):
forty years, and so now it is coming back. This championship,
we are told, is going to be defended not only
in AW, it will be defended across multiple promotions in
multiple countries. So you're gonna see national title defenses in
AW You're gonna see national title defenses in New Japan
(01:51):
Pro Wrestling, You're gonna see it in Ring of Honor,
of course, is owned by the same person, so it's
basically the same thing, but New Japan and CMLL and
the independent scene. This was the plan back when they
introduced the All Atlantic title. Remember when Pack was the
All Atlantic Champion. They even sent him over to Rev
(02:13):
Pro many years ago to defend the championship, and I
remember talking about that at the time and saying, man,
this is actually pretty cool. Send the guy around to
defend the championship in different places. It was kind of
a novel concept for them at the time, and then
they did away with it. They changed it, they got
away from it. I want to show you a graphic here.
(02:34):
I want to show you this real quick. This is
from the AW website. This is the This does not
include Ring of Honor titles because we see Ring of
Honor champions on these shows all the time. We hear
we had the Ring of Honor Women's World Champion on
the show tonight and the Ring of Honor Men's World Champion.
But this is a list not inclusive of this brand
new belt yet. Of all of the current title holders
(02:56):
in AAW so, we have Hangman adham Page is the
AW World Champion. We have Chris stat Lander as the
AW Women's World Champion. We have Kazushika Okada who is
the Unified Champion, but they still have it listed here
individually the two titles that he unified a few months ago,
so he's listed as both the as you can see here,
(03:18):
the Continental Champion and the International Champion, as well as
the Unified Champion. He's listed three times in this. Mercedes
Monet is the TBS Champion, Bandido and Brody King are
the AW Tag Team Champions, Kyle Fletcher is the TNT Champion,
and the Ops are the AW Triovs Titles Trios title holders.
(03:43):
Rather so we have a lot of champions already in
this company. Now, let me ask you this. We just
went through the process of unifying the continental and international
titles with Kenny Omegan Kazuschka Okada months ago, just for
them to turn around and add another belt. Actually, you
(04:06):
know what I find to be the most hilarious part
of this entire thing. They had an international championship. They
had an international title which they got rid of to
create a new national title that is going to be
defended internationally. Amazing, amazing. There were at least two people
(04:32):
on the show to who mistakenly called this new belt
the international title because they have the same thing on
the brain. But think about it. They had an international title,
they got rid of it, they unified it, we have
a national title now and they're gonna defend this championship
internationally all over the world. I don't get it. And
you know what the thing is, I like the idea
(04:55):
of having a title like that in that it's defended
in other promotions and it's the ended on the indies,
right because again that's what they had previously with the
All Atlantic title of they would have just stuck with it,
but they did away with it, and they went through
this whole rigmarole with these additional championships and unifying these
and introducing those, and it's like just to add this one,
(05:16):
just to tack this one onto the list. It's just
I get that Tony Khan is a big wrestling fan,
and Tony Khan is a big fan of wrestling history.
He's always talking about, you know, the days of TBS,
you know, forty years ago, and he knows his wrestling history.
He's very He's like a wrestling savant, this guy. And
(05:36):
he wants to pay homage to look Wrestle dream right
and Enoki, same thing, right, And I respect that, and
I think it's cool that we actually have a wrestling fan,
you know, who was in a position of power who
could do stuff like that and pay tribute to people
and pay tribute to concepts and championships and anniversaries and
milestones and things of that nature. But at some point
(05:59):
you to know when to stop. You just have to
know when to stop, because you just get to a
point where you introduce so many different ones, and each
new one that you introduce, you know, to me, it
just devalues the existing ones that you already have. Because
it gets to a point where it's actually hard to
keep track of who has what and if all these
(06:22):
different people have belts. Again, each new one that you introduce,
it takes a little something away from the existing ones
that you have, and it takes your focus, frankly away
from booking the existing titles as strongly as you possibly can.
But I don't think he's gonna stop. I think this
is just going to continue. Look, we heard that rumor
a while back that he allegedly and this was never confirmed,
(06:46):
but allegedly he had created I think father and son
tag team titles. I can believe it. I can believe
that there are a pair of father and son belts
sitting in a vault or in a closet right now,
and they are just waiting for the opportunity, just waiting
for that right moment to introduce them. I mean, they
may eventually introduce intergalactic titles. We may have people from
(07:10):
other dimensions and other galaxies who are going to be
invited to come in and fight for their own championships.
That would be kind of interesting. Everything's on the table
at this point. I don't think it ends here. This
is just one in a very long line of Betty
championships that they have in this company. But again, that's
the thing that really just tickles me to death, just
(07:32):
the idea that you had at international title. It's gone.
We have a national title now, but it'll be defended
in Mexico, it'll be defended in Japan, It'll be defended
in the UK and the Indies, which is great, But like,
do you see the irony here? We had the ops
defending their titles. They have the Trios Championships. They defended
(07:52):
their Trios belts in the main event tonight against Hangman, Page,
Eddie Kingston and Hook And by the time this match
was over, by the time this show was over as
dominant as Powerhouse, Hobbes was booked to look at the
end of that main event, it felt like he should
be the one going to Full Gear and challenging Hangman
for the championship, not Samoa Joe. But what they've done
(08:14):
here is they've created, I guess, one last obstacle for
Hangman to have to overcome before he gets to the
championship match with Joe at full Gear. So next week
we're getting Hangman and Hobbs in a false count anywhere match,
and that will be the final hurdle. I guess that
the champion has to clear. So that's the story they're
(08:34):
telling there. We had also beyond this new championship they introduced.
The other theme of the show tonight had to do
with these advantage matches because Blood and Guts is next week.
They're in Greensboro next week, and we need to find
out who's going to have the man advantage and who's
going to have the women's advantage, where whoever gets into
(08:56):
the cage and starts at each of these matches the
next person and who comes out that team will have
the advantage. So that's what these matches are meant to determine,
and we had a series of them here on this show.
But we've had a change. We've had a change to
the women's match. Actually we've had multiple changes to the
women's match because originally it was going to be Megan
(09:17):
Baine and Penelope Ford who both were going to be
a part of this match, and Penelope Ford suffered an injury.
She suffered a ucl tear in her elbow. She was
on the show tonight. Her arm was in a sling,
so she's been bounced. She was bounced from the Tag
Team Title Tournament. She will not be able to participate
in Blood and Guts, and she was replaced by Marina
(09:41):
Shaffir in the tournament. So beyond that, we find out
earlier today that Queen am Nada, who has been feuding
with the Triangle of Madness and feuding with Tekla now
for what feels like months, and a pretty intense feud
with her and Tecla as well, everything has been built
to her participation in this Blood and Guts match, which
(10:02):
actually makes a lot of sense because again this has
been going on now for months. She also is now
injured and she was out of her woman advantage match tonight,
but also she is out of Blood and Guts. She
has been replaced by Mina Shirikau. I thought it was
a little strange when I saw that Tony Storm was
in Blood and Guts and not Mina, because the two
of them are like this, The two of them are
(10:24):
in the Tag Team Title tournament together. Why would Tony
be in there and no Mina. But I think a
lot of it has to do with Mercedes wanting to
be in Blood and Guts first ever women's blooding Guts.
I'm sure Mercedes wanted a piece of the action here,
and Tony Khan probably wanted her in the match. And
so if Mercedes is going to be in the match
on the heel side, you got to have Chris Statlander
(10:44):
in the match on the babyface side, because that's the
only thing that makes sense. That's your Women's Championship match
of full gear. You're gonna have one, you gotta have
the other. I think Mina was the one who basically
was the odd woman out, But now that they have
this injury to Ami Nada, she's now back in. So
Tony and Mina are now going to be part of
the Blood and Guts match next week. They didn't really
give any update beyond the fact that it sounds like
(11:05):
a neck injury that Ami not has. But whether or
not it's something more serious that's going to keep her
out for an extended period of time, we don't know.
They didn't give us a whole lot in the way
of information, but she will not be a part of
that match. This was a show that did the bare
minimum to try to get me interested in these Blood
and Guts matches next week, and what we have here
(11:26):
now are two Blood and Guts matches that I'm sorry
they have very little heat going into either one of
these matches. The women's matches a little bit better, because again,
you have women in this match that legitimately have been
brawling and feuding and wrestling each other now for the
last few months, and it feels like you could at
least justify doing a match like this if it's going
(11:47):
to blow off all the issues between some of these
women that have been going toe to toe, mainly on collision,
but you can at least say, okay, it all has
been building to blood and guts. On the men's side,
they put the Conglomeration together with the Death Riders. The
Conglomeration and the Death Riders didn't really have any major
beef with each other up until a few weeks ago,
and it all felt very manufactured. All of it seems
(12:10):
designed for a story purpose involving Darby Allen and John Boxley.
Hopefully I've told you what I hope happens in that match.
At least if we get that, it'll be worth it.
But on the men's side, you know, I'm not casting
any sort of prediction on whether or not the match
is going to be good or bad. I mean, you
look at the people that are in the match, it
may end up being a very good match, but as
(12:32):
I sit here now, we're a week out, it has
no heat. It just feels very slapped together. And the
women's as well. But again, the women's at least I
think they're at a better position going into that match
than they are with the men. So we had a
very basic story tonight. We have people fighting for the
advantage in the match. We had multiple advantage matches because
they're just trying to fill up television time with matches
(12:55):
tied into these two blood and gut spouts next week
to try to fill up time on the show tonight.
I didn't think it was anything terribly exciting, to be
honest with you, I certainly didn't like the show as
much as I like last week. Last week's show was
actually fun. This was not last week's show. But this
is your aw Dynamite review. It is Wednesday, November fifth,
(13:16):
twenty twenty five. I am the Solemn Monster celebrating eighteen
years of the sound off all November long. Thank you
guys for joining me here, like and subscribe, hit those buttons.
Super chats are open as well. You will see them
popping up on your screen as we go along. Here
we have a little goal bonus goal in the chat
which looks very attainable. We're already at seven out of
(13:37):
ten for a bonus round to be the booker. So
go ahead and hit that like button and drop a
super chat and I'll be reading through all of them
a little bit later on in the stream. One other thing,
and I mentioned this on the Monday Night stream, we
had a bunch of people sign up for it. Take
advantage of this. It's a pretty good offer. Bret Hart
his book that came out many years ago, one of
(13:59):
the best wrestling but books out there. The audiobook is
hitting Audible on November eighteenth. Brett himself is narrating almost
twenty five hours of audio on this book, and there
are a lot of stories in this book. He kept
copious notes on the road over the years. You can
get hit Man, that's the name of the book, Hitman
using my Audible link audibletrial dot com slash solid Monster.
(14:24):
You can get the book for free when you sign
up for a thirty day trial of the Audible service.
And even better, if you're an Amazon Prime member, you
can get two free books. You should pick up this
book and Natty's book, Natalia. She had an interest to
quite an interesting tale in that book about what happened
when Tyson Kidd got injured and how wwe treated them
(14:45):
more honest about that whole situation, frankly than I thought
she would be. But go ahead and use that link
and take advantage of it before it's too late. Audibletrial
dot Com slash solo Monster. Let's get into this show here.
We take it right from the very beginning. Tony Shavanni
Tony Shavanni or Hangman Shavanni maybe we should call him,
was one of the last things we saw in the
(15:07):
ring at the end of the show last week. The
actual Tony Shavanni was in the ring at the beginning
of the show this week, and he was in the
ring to say, hey, we have a big announcement tonight,
and this was the big announcement regarding the new national
championship that will be determined if full gear. He didn't
(15:27):
get much else out before he was interrupted. Here Samoa
Joe's music hit. He came out with the rest of
the ops. Joe said, Houston, which is where they were tonight.
In case you couldn't figure it out, said Houston, we
have a problem, and he was not very happy about
what happened at the end of the show last week.
(15:47):
He said he didn't buy into the idea that Shavanni
was not in on the gag with Hangman. He doesn't
believe that Tony had no idea what was going on
last very hard to believe. So Shavani tried to tell
Joe that he has respect for him. Joe yelled at him.
He snapped at him to shut up. Said, there's consequences
(16:08):
that we choose to engage in, and those consequences have
come for the Georgia Peach. So the ops they tried
to get into the ring. Security rushed the ring to
try to stop him, got Tony out of there. Hangman
Page's music hit the Champion sprinted to the ring. He
was held back by security, and Joe said, good now
we can take care of two problems at once. So
(16:31):
the ops go to get in the ring. Here comes
Eddie Kingston, he's got a crutch in his hand, and
here comes Hook so they keep the oppos at bay.
Hangman takes the mic. He says, if Joe wants to
handle his problem, he'll beat Joe's ass in his wranglers.
Hook then took the microphone and he said that the
Ops are the Trios champions titles they won without him,
(16:54):
and he challenges them to make the main event for
the belts or did they actually wait, maybe they did?
Did they win the belts with him? But then he
got hurt and Hobbs got slotted in there. God, I
don't even remember now, maybe that's what happened. Either way,
he was cast aside like nothing, so that's why he
was so upset with the Ops. But in any event,
(17:15):
he says, why don't you put those trios titles on
the line. Since we have a match in the main
event tonight it's non title, why don't we make it
a championship match? And Joe screamed that you know a
hook is he's never gonna speak to him like that.
You want a shot at the titles? You're on? And
it rings side Tony Shavanni, who was already back at
the desk. He's standing there. He's like, oh, I've been
(17:37):
told by Tony Kahan that it is official and the
main event tonight, the Trios match will be for the championships. Boy,
he doesn't take much to set Joe off, does it?
Simojo comes out there, He's cool, calm and collected. It's
like cool hand Luke and then one thing just hook
talking back to him, and all of a sudden, like
(18:00):
the volume gets turned up to a thousand, and this
man is having a meltdown, and we got two different
versions of Samoa Joe here in this segment. It was
a segment. What can I say, not a whole lot happened.
Here was a segment to set up the main event
being converted into a championship match, which in the end
(18:21):
ended have not really making a difference. But I have
to again, I have to get props to them one
more time for the ending of last week's show. There
was nothing on the show tonight, by the way, that
came close to the greatness of the ending of the
show last week. That was a very well done angle.
I saw there was a backstage interview for his vlog
last week that Mike Bailey did with Hangman who was
(18:44):
in his Tony Shavanny get up and as he goes
to walk away, he's doing the Shavanni walk. He had
the walk Man. I'll tell you what. The voice may
not have been exact, but the Shavanni walked the Shavanni shuffle,
I'll call it the old Man shuffle. He had that
down to a tea. He had the walk down to
a tee. So I just too bad we didn't get
(19:07):
anything like that on the show tonight. But once a
year maybe we'll have Hangman in the in the Master
of Disguise and he'll try to top himself each year,
like Kofi Kingston was doing for a while with his
Royal Rumble eliminations until he started watching them and then
he had to stop doing it. This was our first
man advantage match for the Blood and Guts match next week.
(19:27):
This was Orange Cassidy and Claudio one on one. Before
Claudio even got to the ring, Cassidy wiped him out
with multiple tope suicidas ten punches up against the barricade.
Claudio pressed him over his head though and chucked him
into the ring and he went to the outside where
a few minutes later he went to the outside where
he caught Cassidy. He tried a third topay but he
(19:50):
got caught and he got slammed ribs first on the barricade.
Then he got Cassidy up at a suplex position, and
he walked up the ring steps with him and then
and finally slammed him down to the mat. Cassidy desperately
tried to slingshot DDT, but again Claudio caught him in
mid air, which Cassidy was able to counter into a sleeperhole.
Claudio tried to do a giant swing variation. Cassidy hung
(20:14):
on for dear life. Claudio swung him around for a
proper giant swing and then gained control That took us
into a commercial break. So Cassidy kept trying to hulk
up by going into his pocket. I guess that's his
source of strength, I don't know, and he was getting
gut wrench suit plex as he was absorbing all of
this punishment. All this did was piss off Claudio because
(20:37):
no matter what he did, it seemingly wasn't having the
effect that he intended. So there was a PK here
that took off Claudio's head and he went to the outside.
Cassidy flew under the bottom rope in the corner with
a sliding tilted world DDT on the floor and then
a diving DDT back inside. Claudio countered an orange punch
into a lager bomb. He transitioned into a cross face
(21:00):
that didn't work, and later in the match, Claudio took
Cassidy up to the top. Cassidy countered into an avalanche
stun Dog Millionaire. Claudio blocked an orange punch attempt with
a pop up uppercut. He tried again. Cassidy, though, hit
an orange punch out of mid air, and then he
went for a home run shot, but Claudio again propelled
(21:22):
him up into the air, caught him with the uppercut
and put him away to win the match for the
Death Riders. This is a good match. They had a match.
These two have had matches before there it's usually a
good match. I mean, it's pretty reliable when they're in
the ring together. That win put the Death Riders up.
(21:42):
Won nothing. All they had to do was win the
next match to avoid the need for any additional matches,
because they said that if Darby Allen was to win
his match later in the show with Daniel Garcia, then
they would be forced to do a tyber breaker on
Collision this weekend between John Moxley and Roderick Strong. So
(22:04):
all Daniel Garcia had to do in his match he
had one job. All he had to do was win.
But I mean, this is Daniel Garcia, So do I
even need to tell you what happened in that match
later on? But that was the story thread here. Can
Darby pull it out? Can he pull out the win
(22:25):
and force the tiebreaker? This weekend on Collision, we go backstage.
We have Renee Piquette. She is with Mark Briscoe, Kyle Fletcher,
and Don Kallis and I'm like, initially I'm looking at this,
going wait a bit, something doesn't compute here. I'm waiting
for the announcement of no physicality was agreed to, and
sure enough, within like three seconds, she thanks them both
(22:46):
for agreeing to no physicality so they could stand next
to each other. But she says, Mark, you requested this time.
Briscoe says he got a response from his challenge a
few weeks ago to a TNT title rematch from Don Kallas.
If you remember, callus said no but he wants to
hear it responds directly from Kyle Fletcher. Briscoe said his
thought process was that a swift kick to his family
(23:08):
jewels is what helps is what helps Fletcher win, which
can't feel good. It's like making out with your sister. Okay,
how would he know this? Briscoe wants to make Fletcher
a real man and said, let's do it again at
full gear notice qualification. So Fletcher told Callus he might
(23:30):
enjoy that. Callus said he loves to see when Kyle
is happy. But he said, if Briscoe is going to
get a shot at the TNT title, he's got to
give something in return. Right, We're not just going to
give you a shot at the TNT Championship. You've got
to give us something or put something up in exchange.
And brisco is thinking, well, what do you want? You
want my career. Let me put my career on the
(23:51):
line here in this match. Callus says, no, no, no,
When you lose to Kyle Fletcher, you will have to
join the Don Callous family and leave those morons behind
in the conglomeration. Callous at Briscoe should make it about
himself for a change, and brisco called Callous a silvertungue snake,
(24:14):
said that he's not losing. It's Callous who made a
deal with the devil and he agreed to the stipulation.
So that is the new stip They're going to have
a TNT title rematch of Full Gear in Newark, and
if he doesn't win the championship on that show, which
it kind of feels like he will, but if he doesn't,
he will have to join the Callous family. If there's
two things that this company needs more of. Number one,
(24:36):
more belts. Number two, we don't have enough members of
the Don Kallis family. I think we need some more,
which brings me to the very next segment, because after
a break, Renee was in the back, and this time
she was in the back with the Young Bucks and
Don Kallus and Josh Alexander. Can't forget about him, he
(24:57):
was there too. I like to think that off camera
in the back, they just have like leaned up against
the wall like a lineup, all the members of the
Kallus family just waiting their turn to shoot their segment
with Renee just one right after the other. We just
can't see all of them. So she said it was
official at Full Gear, the first ever million dollar trios match.
(25:18):
It's going to be Kenny Omega and Jurassic Express taking
on Josh Alexander and the Young Bucks. So Renee asked
the Bucks, have you guys officially joined the Don Kallis family.
Does that mean that you guys are officially now members
of this crew? And before they could answer, Callus cut
them off and said, I sent the nice care package
(25:38):
to make sure that the Bucks get the treatment they
deserve and they don't get treated like a couple of
jobbers when they're part of the team, their family. So
then the rest of the Kallis family suddenly walked in
and Callous introduced at the very end, the rain Maker,
Kazuchka Okada, the bucks good friend, and Okada walked in
(25:59):
and the rest of the family I mean, And now
Matt Jackson is looking at this going, this is all
so overwhelming and callous it'll take your time before making
a decision, And he and all the family members left
except Okato Kata hung back and he told the Bucks
don't take too much time in deciding, and he smiled,
(26:20):
and then he walked off. So I want to point
out here that we were not even close to an
hour yet into this show, and already in the first
hour of this show, or forty minutes of this show,
we had two different instances of Don Kallus basically extending
an invitation to somebody to potentially join the Don Kallis
(26:43):
family actually three people, Mark Briscoe, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson.
What would that bring the total to if all three
of them ended up joining the Callus family. Well, I
don't even know. I honestly, I don't even know. I
don't expect any of them to join the Kallus family.
The idea of it is just completely preposterous. I don't
(27:04):
even know what the total would be if all three
of them actually joined this family heights, it would be
a shot in the dark. Eighteen sixteen, I don't know.
We had another opening round match in the AW Women's
Tag team title tournament that kicked off last week. This
(27:26):
time it was Mercedes twelve Belts and Athena against Willow
Nightingale and Harley Cameron. So Athena took control early, Mercedes
tagged in quickly, and a Boston Sucks chant broke out
here in Houston. They're going to be in Boston. I
believe the final Dynamite before Full Gear is in Boston. Well, actually, yeah,
(27:50):
Raws in Boston, right, that's right, Yeah, Raws in Boston
on the tenth, and then Dynamite is in Boston on
the nineteenth. Look at that Boston getting a lot of
love here in the month of November. I hear it's
very cold in Boston in November. You know what it's
been here in New York here in November so far,
basically every day sixty. I wish the weather would make
(28:15):
up its mind, like it's nice to have the milder weather.
I think it's about to go away next week, but
I just wish it would make up its mind, Like legit.
I don't know how it is by you where you live,
but like one day it will be sixty three, the
next day it might be a high of like forty eight,
and we've had like twenty five mile an hour winds,
(28:36):
and then the next day it's like fifty eight and
it's back down to fifty. Like, I don't get it.
So Willow tagged in Harley and they landed a double
team splash on Athena. Mercedes broke up the pin. Willow
got sent to the floor in Athena dove out onto
her while Mercedes delivered a meteor to Harley covered her
for a two count. Willow regained control as the show
(28:58):
returned from a break and delivered a cannon ball in
the corner on Athena. She followed up with a big spinebuster.
Mercedes attempted at head scissors, but Willow reversed into a
side slam and then tagged out to Harley. She hit
soul food on Mercedes. Willow then connected on a lariat
on Athena. Mercedes managed to apply the statement maker to Harley,
(29:21):
but Willow pounced Athena into them to break up the hold.
Athena landed a combination of strikes on Nightingale got cut
down though with a lariat. Willow dropped Mercedes with a
death valley driver. She missed the follow up cannonball in
the corner on Athena. Harley blind tagged herself into the match. Athena, though,
managed to pick up Willow on her shoulders like she
(29:43):
was gonna go for an F five or an you know,
or a fucking attitude adjustment. She has her on her shoulders,
and then Harley gets into the ring and she grabs
Harley from the front and picks her up, so she's
holding both of these women now, and then she del
there was a fallaway slam and everybody goes flying. And
I said, that's pretty impressive, because Athena talented as she is,
(30:06):
is not the biggest woman that they have on that roster.
She's really not. So I thought it was impressive between
you know, Willow on her shoulders and Harley, you know,
in her hands, and then she tossed them both so
Athena her minion, Billy starks. She runs down to the ring.
She grabs Athena's Ring of Honor Women's World Championship, her
(30:29):
Infinity Belt that she's had now for over a thousand days,
and she is going to hand the title to her.
For the assist, Chris Statlander suddenly appears and she closelines
Billy down to the floor outside. Willow then lands a
power bomb on Athena and Harley follows with her finishing maneuver,
(30:52):
which I think is what she calls it, her finishing maneuver.
What it was it looked like a crossroads, and the
way Athena took this cross man, she sold the shit
out of this crossroads, you know what it reminded me of,
Still probably the best crossroads I've ever seen. Seth Rollins,
the way he took that move at Battleground in twenty thirteen,
(31:14):
when Cody and Dustin won their match, got their jobs back.
She took the move very impressively, looked devastating, and then
Harley covered her and Harley Cameron pins the ring of
honor Women's World Champion to send herself Willow into the
next round of this tournament against the sisters of Sin
(31:37):
Sky Blue and Julia Hart. I thought that this might happen.
I said last week, I don't know now that Mercedes
and Athena even make it out of the first round.
After we had what I thought was an upset. Some
people say, well, if you pay attention, it hasn't really
wasn't really an upset. It was an upset given there,
(31:57):
especially someone like Jamie who's been a world champion in before.
It was an upset seeing Jamie and Queen Amy not
to lose last week to sky Blue and Julia Hart.
Once I saw that, I said, I'm not sure these
two women here are even making it out of the
first round because I don't have them winning the tournament,
and now after this, I don't even have them in
the finals. And sure enough they got bounced here and
(32:19):
as expected, it was Athena who took the pin and
Mercedes was nowhere to be found in the rain. When
this finish went down. I thought the match itself, it
was solid. It turned more into a tornado tag match
as the match went on and the right team went
over because there was no need for Mercedes and Athena
to make it any further than they have here in
(32:41):
this tournament, which was not very far at all. Having
them in the tournament, fine, they just did the job here, great,
but there was no need for them to go any
further than they did. And that is the biggest win
of Harley Cameron's career. I don't know that it's going
to net her an ROH Women's Championship match. It should
I'm a believer when you pin the champion in a
(33:02):
non title situation like this, you should get a title shot.
Not that she's gonna win, but it was easily the
biggest win of her career. And meanwhile, you have Statlander
getting involved here. That makes sense. They had to put
more heat on her and Mercedes and their world title
match coming up at full gear. She just cost them
potentially the women's tag team titles. So you know, all
(33:24):
of that made sense. Now, After a break, Tony Schavanni
was back in the ring, the real Tony Shavanni and
he was going to pick up with the announcement that
he attempted to make at the beginning of the show.
He announced a casino gauntlet match for full gear for
the brand new aw National Championship and said the first
(33:45):
entrance into the match were coming out to the ring.
Next and out came the Hurt Syndicate, Bobby Lashley, Shelton, Benjamin, MVP.
Altogether they came down to the ring. Ale though it's
only Lashly and Benjamin who were in the match. Vanni said,
this brings up a very interesting situation for the Hurt
Syndicate because these two men are going to be in
(34:05):
the same match, fighting for the same opportunity, right, both
men want to become the first ever national champion. So
MVP then starts rattling off the names of some former
NWA National champions and I'm pretty sure he accidentally called
it the international title here. He is not the only one.
(34:27):
Ex Caliber made the same mistake at the end of
the segment and quickly corrected himself. And I don't blame
either one of these guys, because a they did have
an international title here in this company, and two, how
the fuck are you supposed to keep track of all
this shit. I don't blame them in the least, but
he's rattling off some names here. He mentioned Paul Orndorf
(34:48):
and Jack brisco In, Dusty Rhodes, Wahoo McDaniel, Nikita Koloff.
Trevanni asked again about Lashly and Benjamin potentially facing off
in the match at MV said, the Hurt Syndicate wins
and aw fans win. When that happens, well, we weren't
winning now because here comes Ricochet with the gates of agony.
(35:11):
They were on the stage. Ricochet said that he was
an Eagles fan, and he called Texas a trash ass
state and said that he would make this quick because
he didn't want to spend more time here than he
absolutely had to. He told Lashly and Benjamin it didn't
matter how old they are. He admired them for hobbling
down to the ring every week, and the crowd was
trying to drown him out with booze. He just kept talking.
(35:32):
He wasn't even pausing or anything. He's just talking through
the whole thing. And he explained that he would do
everything in his power to make sure the Hurt Syndicate
would never win gold again. And he did just that.
MVP said that nobody cares about them and the only
thing they've ever done is taken ass whipping from the
Hurt Syndicate. And they were yelling at each other, and
(35:53):
they were yelling over each other for like a good
ten seconds here, and so it was a little hard
to understand some of what they were saying. Although I
kind of like that because how many times some of
our wrestling tropes, how many times do we see these
promos where you'll have one guy insulting the other guy
and the other guy waits very patiently and respectfully for
(36:17):
the other guy to stop talking shit about him, and
then he speaks, right, this is what a real life
argument would look like, even though it might make for
bad television and you can't understand half of what they're
trying to say, at least it felt like an authentic,
you know, kind of back and forth. The battle on
the mic gear between these two. So Ricochet said all
they need to know is that he would become the
(36:38):
first AW National champion at full gear, and MVP said,
all he does is talk shit and they hurt people.
One more time, these are your current champions here in
AW Get ready we're getting another belt. I assume it's
(36:58):
going to be, you know, made up in the same
design as the old national title. If you want to
go look up what that belt look like. But I
mean just it's just look at this, even just the
fact that Okada is listed in this graphic three times
because they want The reason for that is they want
(37:19):
to maintain the lineage of both belts even though they're unified.
They could one day be d unifi. Can you imagine
if Tony Kahn one day de unifies the unified championship
and we end up again with the continental title and
the international title. We'll have an international title, we'll have
a national title. I fully expect it to happen at
(37:39):
some point soon the roster page is going to be nothing,
but just the whole champion section is gonna be like
half the roster page. We're getting very close to that day.
So backstage Jurassic Express, we're addressing the Young Bucks with
Jack Perry saying that there are things more important than money, friendship,
(38:01):
and he knows the Young Bucks have been having some
problems with money, so this ought to help. And he
took a one hundred dollars bill and he stabbed it
with a knife. It was like on a desk or whatever.
They were out in front of the Callis Family locker room.
Bluchasaurus was about to take the money when Perry told
him to leave it, and that was it for Jurassic
Express tonight. Then we had the other man advantage match
(38:24):
for Blood and Guts. This was Daniel Garcia against Darby Allen.
During Garcia's entrance, they show him in the back. He's
getting ready to go out. John Moxley is with him.
He's psyching him up and Moxley is telling him, you know,
finish this so we can get the man advantage here
next week and I don't have to wrestle Roderick Strog
(38:45):
on Saturday. So Garcia got off to a hot start
with some grappling. Darby took the battle out to the floor.
He dove out onto Garcia and then tossed him into
the nearby barricade. Garcia used the ring apron to trap
Darby with the ring skirt and delivered a flurry of strikes.
After a break, Garcia plays Darby on the top turn buckle.
(39:06):
He delivered a superplex. He attempted a second follow up
super plex Garcia, though, reversed into a scorpion death drop.
Both men were down, or maybe Darby did, but both
men were down. Darby climbed the ropes again. Garcia tripped
him up and he went out to the floor and
on the outside, Garcia set Darby up against the ring steps,
(39:28):
you know, his head up against the ring steps, and
he delivered a running drop kick. So he knocked the
steps into Darby's head. So he got back in the
ring and the referee began to count. Garcia argued with
the referee while Pack showed up and Pack delivered a
running lariot to Darby as he was attempting to recover.
The referee didn't see any of this, so the referee
(39:51):
starts to count over again. Darby, I will say, as
far as this type of spot goes, you know, diving
back into the ring at the last second. They did
get me there for a moment to think, okay, maybe
they were actually gonna do a count out here, right,
They just got before ask for a brief second. But
it was one of these instances where the referees at nine,
(40:12):
like nine and a half, and then Darby just springs
to life and dives into the ring at the very
last moment, so he made it back in. Now Darby
gets back in and he's bleeding from the back of
the head. I'm just watching this, I'm like, did this
fucker blade himself in the back of the head. That's
what it looked like to me. I don't know if
(40:35):
he did or not, but that would be very stupid.
So Darby crawled for the ropes. Eventually he managed to
reverse out of what was a Dragon team or he
was trying to get out of it. So he got out,
He reversed out of it and applied to scorpion deathlock
of his own. Garcia had nowhere to go, and so
(40:57):
he tapped out. And why wouldn't he Why wouldn't he
tap out? After all, this is the man who himself
once said who hasn't beaten Daniel Garcia? So you knew
exactly how this match was going to go. Don't pretend
that you didn't. You knew it the minute this match
was announced. When it was over, Pack Attack Darby Orange
(41:21):
Cassidy ran out to even the odds, and as soon
we had a full on brawl between both Blooding Guts teams.
The death Riders quickly dispatched everybody. Roderick Strong crashed the
party late. He sent Moxley and his crew fleeing from
the ring. Now, the announcers and I don't remember if
it was Danielson, but it might have been Brian Danielson,
(41:44):
but they were wondering where was Mark Briscoe? Like the
conglomeration is out there and it's this big brawl here
between these two crews, and it's like, there is no
Mark Briscoe. So ex Caliber said, well, he has his
own battles tonight, and I'm like, no, he doesn't. He
had one backstage promo where they agreed to know physicality
(42:07):
and that was earlier in the show. That's not an excuse.
What does that mean he has his own battles tonight?
Is there some other battle backstage that were not aware of?
Is he playing cribbage with some of the other wrestlers.
Did somebody tell him, hey, your car's being towed and
he had to run out to the parking lot? What
does that even mean? What the fuck was he? Is
(42:27):
he taking a shit? I mean that could be a battle.
Sometimes you don't get enough fiber. I get it, but like,
what a dumb comment, what a stupid comment to make.
I don't know where he was, but he wasn't out there.
So anyway, this was the predictable finish after Claudio's win earlier,
because you knew they were not going to allow it
(42:48):
to be a clean sweep for the Heels. They had
already announced the match for Collision. They weren't going to
rescind it. So yes, we are gonna get John Moxley
against Roderick Strong to decide. That'll be on Collision this weekend.
You know, again, it's not a very interesting story what
they're doing here. I understand why they're doing it. We've
(43:09):
had man advantage matches and women's advantage matches for war
games as well, but just in terms of what they
were doing here, I can't say that any of this,
None of this got me excited to see this match
next week. If that was the objective here, then they failed.
Like I said, they did the bare minimum of what
(43:29):
they had to do, but I didn't find any of
this to be particularly enticing. Now, FTR was out to
the ring next without Stokely Hathaway to address their upcoming
Tag Team Championship match at Full Gear. Cash Wheeler said
last week they became number one contenders for the world
(43:51):
tag team titles, and you would think that they would
be over the moon when they should have been three
time champions in London, but Brodido took that away from them.
So they have a bone to pick with Brodido, and
so what they want to do is they want to
talk to them face to face, and he calls them out,
da'x Harwood. He held the ropes open, they played the music.
(44:15):
No Brodido, They're nowhere to be found. Instead, we hear pounding.
That could be any It could be any number of things,
could be somebody getting their their cheeks clap backstage. I
don't know what they were about to cut to, but
we hear pounding is going on, and the pounding that
we were hearing was evidently Brodido was locked inside their
(44:37):
dressing room. And we see Stokely Hathaway is out there
right in front of the door, and he's smiling and
he's laughing, and he says that I've been trying to
get them out of their locker room all night, but
I can't. So Renee is there and he asked Renee, hey,
you want to watch the wire on my phone? Since
you know I have it on HBO Max. It's a
(44:58):
great show. By the way, if you've never I've seen it,
she'd definitely check it out. So Heartwood, back in the ring, said, oh, man,
darn it. I was looking forward to shaking hands like gentlemen,
but I guess we'll have to settle for the second
best thing. Bandido's family sitting in the front row, so
(45:19):
they exit the ring. They go over to Bandido's family.
His grandmother is in the front row and talking about
how heartwarming it is that she just recently attended her
grandson's first match live and he asks her how old
are you and she begins to answer, but he quickly
cuts her off and said you don't look a day
(45:39):
over one hundred and thirteen years old. Said we just
celebrated Halloween, and if they were celebrating the Day of
the Dead, she takes the cake. Harwood said that it's
heartwarming how much of a star Bandido has become and
asks how proud are you of your grandson, and again
he cuts her off and says if she promises to
be a good little girl, or a good girl not little,
(46:04):
maybe he and Cash will adopt her. As there a bueila.
That means grandmother. See, I know that Harwood said that
maybe they'll seal the deal with the kiss on the cheek.
So Bendido's grandmother slaps Hardwood. FTR then pulls Gravity, Bendido's
brother over the barricade beats him up. Yeah, this is
(46:25):
not the first time that poor Gravity was sitting in
the crowd with his family and got the shit beating
out of him. Right, They did this once before with
Jericho in the learning tree. Gravity is just whenever he's around, man,
it's just he's there to take a beat down. That
was his jump here. So Stokely is in the back
(46:45):
still watching the wire on his phone outside the locker room,
when all of a sudden, Brody King's arm he busts
through the wall. This thin, just shitty wall and his
hand comes through and he's choking Stokely. He breaks free,
sprints to the ring to go war on FTR. Gravity
was about to take a spike pile driver when Bandido
(47:06):
and Brody they hit the ring and FTR bailed up
the ramp and the champs went to go check on
Gravity and the Aboila and everybody else who was in
the front row not much else to say about this.
The match itself should be really really good, but this
was just pretty straightforward stuff. Now, after this, they had
(47:28):
a quick video package for Blood and Guts and the
voice nar rating the video package one de Malnka, the Iceman.
I'm trying to think if de Malenka was ever in
a Wargames match in WCW. I don't think so, because
I'm not sure what team he would have even been on,
(47:49):
but I just I don't remember, like when they were
doing those war Games matches from like that ninety five
to ninety eight period, Like, I don't think he would
have really fit in on any of the teams, but
he works there and so he was. He's got that
very h his voice is very distinguishable when you hear it,
so clearly it was him doing the narration there. We
(48:12):
had another Blood and Guts advantage match, this one with
the ladies. It was Meghan Bain against Mina Shirakawa. She
was replacing the injured queen A Minada not only in
this match, but next week in Blood and Guts and
her tag team partner Timeless Tony Storm. She joined on
commentary Ablita No that was that was Bendido's aboila. Come on, man,
(48:42):
no chance Dean Malnko was ever in a War Games Yeah,
unless he joined the Horsemen, and I'm not aware of it. Yeah,
I don't. I don't think that ever happened back then.
You know, Wargames was reserved for the actual top stars
in the company. So you had the nWo, you had
the Horsemen, you had the Lugers and the Stings and
(49:02):
the Hogans and people like that. You didn't have people
like Chris Jericho and de Malenko and Eddie Guerrero. They
were not in War Games back then. So I found it,
as I said before, I found it very weird when
the lineup was initially announced for this Blood and Guts
(49:24):
match and Tony was in and Mina was not. But
now Mina's in due to injuries. She's now going to
be factored into that match. So Ami Nada is the
main one who has been feuding with Tecla and the
Triangle of Madness. She mentioned last month in her vlog
on her YouTube channel that she had some sort of
(49:45):
knee issue. She wasn't sure if it was anything serious,
but like she was having some swelling in her knee.
So I'm not sure if this is legitimate, and I
don't see why it wouldn't be that she's legitimately injured.
They mentioned her neck. I don't know if it was
an injury that happened in that match she had last
week and it is a neck injury, or maybe it's
a knee issue that I'm not sure, but I do
(50:09):
trust they would not have bounced her out of this
match and taken this opportunity away from her unless she
was legitimately injured. So ex Caliber asked Tony on commentary
Tony Storm if Mina replacing Queen Aminada and Blood and
Guts puts them at a disadvantage in the women's tag
team title tournament, and Storm said, of course not. She
(50:31):
invites ex Caliber to do commentary on one of her orgies,
and then she tells Brian Danielson that she didn't know
that they made Hemp cologne. So Mina tried a series
of shoulder blocks on Megan, who barely budged, and instead
she just dropped Mina with one of her own. You know,
I forgot Perk in the chat. I completely forgot about that. Well,
(50:57):
two things I forgot about. Number one, Malenka was a
horseman in ninety eight, but I completely forgot that the
shock Master, Right, that had to be ninety three, right,
the shock Master of all people was in a Wargames match.
How could I forget the great shock Master? Yeah? Yes,
(51:23):
the shock Master was the guy his Stormtrooper helmet with
all the glitter went flying off his head when he
tripped and fell during his big spectacular debut entrance. And
thus a legend was born, and a career was ruined,
but a legend was born. Man, how could I forget that?
(51:50):
So Tony was cheering Mina on to get that big bitch,
and when Danielson said that Tony was the only one
to pin Megan Baine ever in a singles match, Tony said, well,
because I'm bloody brilliant, Yeah, Tony Storm. I have to say,
Tony Storm is the only woman not only to pin
Megan Bain in aw but to pin Mercedes Monette. So
(52:13):
that's right up there with those championships that she's held.
She's got quite a few accomplishments to her name. So
Mina hit a flying crossbody off the top to a
standing Baine who was on the floor, and then she
looked over at Tony and she said, I love you.
That little delay allowed Megan that'll recover and deliver an
avalanche fall away slam heading into a commercial break. They
(52:34):
came back from the break and there was a German
supplex by Bain that sent Mina to the apron where
they traded supplex attempts. Mina hit a high kick and
a snap supplex. Mina took two long though to follow
up and gave Megan a chance to land a superplex.
Bain wanted a lagerbomb. Shira Kala, though countered into a
hurrican Rana and a rolling elbow storm. All of a sudden,
(52:57):
at Ringsie, we hear her making these weird like choking sounds.
She's being choked out by Marina Shaffir, who is behind
the barricade right behind her. She reaches over and she's
choking this woman, although she broke free and so the
two women begin brawling. But she brawled off and didn't
realize what was going on in the ring. Megan planted
Mina with a lagerbomb and she got the win. After
(53:21):
the match, Tony got sent into the steps by Marina Shaffir,
who joined Bain in the beatdown on Mina Storm got
a chair. She chased bain In Shaffir off until the
triangle of madness hit the ring and they beat up
Tony Storm. Here comes Jamie Hayter, Here comes Willow Nightingale,
Here comes Harley Cameron out to even the odds, and
all the ladies brawled until Mercedes Monet runs out and
(53:44):
she was about to join in the fray, and then
she stopped herself. She put the brakes on. She had
second thoughts, maybe I'm not going to get involved here,
and then Chris Statlander came out and from behind mowed
her down, made the save herself, and she stood tall
with the babyfaces. This was not a great match. This
was not a great mat It was a decent match,
(54:06):
it was not great. You know. It felt like to
me watching this, it felt like a match that was
not originally supposed to happen, because originally it was going
to be Megan Baine and Queen Amina, and it felt
that way. It felt like, Okay, they probably found out
fairly late in the day, like, okay, you two are
gonna be working together. And I don't know that these
two have ever worked together before, and maybe they have,
(54:28):
I don't know. And they had to put a match
together relatively last minute, on short notice. That's exactly what
this felt like. It did have the right outcome, though,
I think the right woman went over and they basically
ran the same angle with the men and the women
on this show. Right the match ends, the teams come out,
big brawl, you know what else do you expect them
(54:50):
to do? Here? But the problem is neither of these
blood and guts matches have much in the way of heat.
There's just not a lot they to truly get you
excited for either one of these matches. And we're heading
into a period, by the way, in these next few weeks,
we're basically if you watch WWE and you watch AW
(55:13):
you're gonna get four Wargames matches in like a two
and a half week time span, and we don't yet
know what the full teams are gonna look like as
far as Wargames is concerned, Like the pieces are starting
to sort of come together, so we don't yet you
know the teams. But I can sit here and tell
you that I feel the exact same way about those
(55:34):
matches that I do these two, because you can't tell
me that even on that show, even on that side
men or women, that there's that one match that really
it's like you can just you know what the teams
are gonna be, and it's like, yeah, it's all been
building to this, right, you got to blow this shit
off with wargames. And I'll tell you there's another similarity
(55:54):
as well that if I had to choose which one
at this moment in time, right which one feels like
it is the more appropriate wargames match, Meaning like if
you had a dump one, keep one, which one would
you keep? It would be the women. You could justify
it in aaw with the women. You could justify it
(56:15):
in WWE with the women. It just feels like there's
no need for men's matches when it comes to this
wargames concept in either company right now, they both feel
very forced and we're getting four of them, get ready.
(56:36):
I think on Collision, I think on Collision we get
both heel teams earning the advantage. That is what I'm
thinking here. It's going to be Moxley over Roddy. I
think it's going to be Jamie Hayter winning her match
over sky Blue, and then Tekla is ultimately going to
beat Harley Cameron. That's my prediction for a collision. The
(56:58):
main event was the OPSH with Joe, Powerhouse, Hobbs, Kotiori,
Shabbata defending their trios titles against Hangman, Adam Page, Eddie
Kingston and Hook. Joe faked like he was going to
start the match against Hangman, but instead he tagged in Shabata,
who landed some strikes, but Hangman replied with a big lariat.
He tagged out to Hook. He entered. He landed a
(57:19):
Northern Light suit plex for a two count. Shabbata made
a tag to Hobbs, Hook and Hobbs. They traded blows.
Hobbs quickly put him down with a backbreaker. Hook was
able to fire back with an overhead suit plex. He
crawled towards his corner, so Joe, when they came back
from the break, was in control of the match. Eddie
Kingston was in the ring with him at AAEW Medical.
(57:40):
They were checking on Hook on the floor. He was
holding his back. Eddie avoided and attempted a running sent
on by Joe. Hangman tagged in. He sent all three
members of the OPS out to the floor. He sent
Hobbs into the ring post and then he landed a
Moon salt onto Hobbs in the ring for a near fall.
Kingston made a blind tag, Joe took him out with
a lariat, Hook attempted a sue plex, hiss Back gave out.
(58:02):
Hobbs drove Hangman into the ring apron repeatedly, and then
he tossed him up near the stage. It was a
very small venue, so they did not have very far
to travel here. But now they're like on the stage
and Hobbs picks him up and he drops him. He
drove him through a table on the floor down below.
(58:22):
It's a very short fall. I mean they were elevated,
but it was a very short fall from the stage
to the floor. But he basically gave him a world's
Strongest slam through a table and that was the end
of Hangman as far as this match goes. Eddie Kingston
was the last man standing right now in the ring
for his team. He was able to send Joe and
(58:43):
Shabbata to the floor. Hook tagged in. Hobbs, though, was
the legal man, and so Hobbs snatched him up. He
put him up in a torture rack and Hook taps out.
So the Ops retained their trios titles. We are told
then that next week it will be the Hangman page
one on one with Powerhouse Hobbs in a falls count
(59:04):
anywhere match, and they quickly rushed off the air. I
mean they literally they announced the match and then they
went dark within five seconds because I guess they were
desperately out of time, and that was the end of
Dynamite this week. So that is why they gave Hobbs
the big dominant spot there, the monster spot at the
end of the match, because they were setting up this
(59:24):
false count anywhere about next week between him and Hangman.
By the time this show is over, I was more
interested in watching Hobbs challenge Hangman for the championship than Joe. Instead,
Hobbs is going to be the stepping stone next week
for Hangman to then get to Samoa Joe at the
pay per view. So this is the second week in
(59:46):
a row. I should also point out that hook has
submitted has tapped out to a member of the Ops,
so I don't know if there's going to be any
relevance to that. Maybe Eddie Kingston needs to give him
a little smack across the face to wake him up
a little bit, right, They have to be paired up
for some reason. We'll see if that leads to anything.
They did the bare minimum that they had to do
(01:00:08):
this week, and the bare minimum just it wasn't enough
to get me really overly excited about next week's show.
I'm hoping we get some really good matches. You know,
they've got three announced for next week, the two blood
and Guts matches in the Hangman match, and I would
imagine that next week we would have a well maybe not.
(01:00:29):
I was gonna say, if we had another match and
the women's tournament, would that be on Dynamite Because a
lot of those women that are in that tournament are
also in blooding guts, So I don't know if we're
going to get another tournament match on the Wednesday show.
We're not next week, but I'll tell you what injuries
have wreaked Haffic though with that women's match, they're lucky
that none of the major stars have gone down to injury.
(01:00:51):
You know, Mercedes is in their Statlander Tony, but they
lost Penelope Ford, they lost Queen Ami Nada, so they've
had to make some change jeez, you know, minor changes,
but still changes nonetheless, in the women's match and the
women's match again next week it's six on six. The
men's match is five on five. Those are your lineups
(01:01:12):
for next week. That was dynamite. Definitely not as much
fun as I had with last week's show. This week's
episode is sponsored by Express VPN. I use ExpressVPN every week, Okay,
damn near every day. But imagine for a minute. Let's
say I was on the train. Okay, I'm on the subway.
I'm on the D train to Coney Island, and I'm
(01:01:33):
on an important call with my doctor's office. I'm getting
some test results, but I've got the call on speaker phone.
Why would I want to share my medical results with
a bunch of strangers, or better yet, why would a
bunch of strangers care about my test results? I wouldn't
want to share that with the world. Well, that's what
it's like using the Internet with that Express VPN because
(01:01:54):
all of your traffic flows through their servers Internet service
providers and that includes mobile providers. By the way, they
know every single website you visit, and in the US,
ISPs are legally allowed to sell that information to advertisers.
This is why everyone needs a VPN. ExpressVPN re routes
one hundred percent of your traffic through secure encrypted servers,
(01:02:16):
so your ISP can't see your browsing history, nor should they,
because it really isn't any of their business. ExpressVPN is
the best VPN because it's super secure. It hides your
IP address, making it very tough, very very tough for
third parties to track your online activity. It's also easy
to use. With the tap of a button, you're fully protected.
(01:02:37):
It also works across all of your devices, including your phone, laptop, tablet,
and more, so you can stay private on the go.
There's a reason that ExpressVPN is ranked number one by
top tech reviewers like c Net and The Verge. You know,
when I'm on the road traveling to shows for House
of Glory, like I will in a few weeks, when
I'm on Long Island and in Chicago after that, I
(01:02:59):
always have at least my tablet, if not my laptop
with me, and I make sure I've got the ExpressVPN
app installed and active. That way, I've got the peace
of mind that I need to know that I've got
the same level of protection away from home that I
do when I'm in my home. My privacy is too important.

s vpn dot com slash solo monster to find out
how you can get up to four extra months Express
vpn dot com slash solo monster. Take a look at
the Twitter poll what did you think of Dynamite from Houston?
(01:03:41):
Roughly thirty nine percent thumbs up for tonight's show, sixty
one zero point two percent thumbs down. And that is
your Dynamite poll so far. You know where to go
to vote if you want to great, If not, I
don't give a shit. We all know what the pole
result is going to be. Anyway, you can see where
(01:04:03):
it's trending. The die has been cast. Let's take a
look at your superchats here. Not really a fan of
Dynamite this week. Now, I will point out to you
we hit the bonus goal in the chat, but we
are lagging on the likes, so that will not be bonus.
(01:04:27):
Be the booker. That will be the one round to
be the booker that you get tonight. I can't do
a bonus unless we hit the main goal. So because
we may not hit the main goal, at least you're
going to get the one round. But we'll see we're
two ninety five right now. That is just that is unacceptable.
You got to work on that while I go through these.
(01:04:47):
Let's start with death Sithe Here, death Sithe with a
pair of superchat says a Hey, solemn monster. I wanted
to apologize for my embarrassing Jeff Hardy booking. On Monday.
I drank a full bottle of White and McKay scotch
whiskey that night. I was celebrating eighteen years of the
soundboat White and McKay Scotch whiskey. I don't believe I've
(01:05:11):
ever had that brand before. You gotta watch it with
the whiskey man. The whiskey will get you. For me,
it's vodka. That's why I just stay away from it.
I say all the time, vodka is the devil. But
I was thinking. He says that wwe could do Sena
dom Ray for the Intercontinental title at Survivor Series and
(01:05:34):
they could have dom retain. That way he can say
he beat the greatest of all time and the greatest
lutrador of all time. Yeah. I get what you're saying,
but I don't see that happening. I don't see Seena
in a triple threat match that honestly, he has no
business being a part of what I floated on X Today,
(01:05:55):
and I think there's a good possibility that we end
up seeing it. I would be stunned if Sina does
not wrestle on at least one of these two upcoming
raw shows, if not both. I would think certainly in
Madison Square Garden on the seventeenth, he'll end up in
a match, and I could see it being a tag
team match, and you do Sena and Ray Or. You
(01:06:19):
could even do Sena and Penta, right, that would be
great to get Penta that kind of rub. But Sena
and Ray against Dom and Balor in a tag team match,
which then leads into Ray against Dom in San Diego
at Survivor Series. The other thing I flowed and I
said this on TNT last night with JD. I mentioned
(01:06:40):
that I could see them doing an angle. We don't
even know who all the members are going to be
out on the baby face side of the Men's War Games,
but one of the members on that babyface side gets
taken out a week or two before Survivor Series by
the Vision. So now they're down and then Cempunk let's
(01:07:03):
say he's sort of the captain, right. Let's just say
they make this big dramatic announcement, who's gonna step up
to the plate and fill that last spot? John Cena
and John Cena gets to wrestle in his one and
only Wargames match. And it would actually make more sense
if they add Brock Lesnar to the heel side, because otherwise,
what the fuck was the point of that match of
(01:07:24):
Russell palooza? And then you get Brock on one side
Seene on the other. That is more along the lines
of what I could see them doing. But I think
him doing a tag match is a distinct possibility, and
if so, I think that's the one to do. We
got dried chicken with us here chicken and turkey after
(01:07:45):
wrestleman he of forty two, says Bruce Pritchard, Michael Hayes
and road Dog need their gift baskets and be relieved
from their duties. Paul of Veck won't get fired. I
would give him a six month paid vacation, so you
would get rid of Levec, Prichard, Hayes and road Dog.
(01:08:07):
So for those six months that Triple Asha is in there,
who's handling creative You've basically just gotten rid of the
entire creative team. I'm not even saying that they don't
deserve that, but you better have a damn good backup
plan unless your plan is to just go to chat
GPT to book your storylines. And that's how you end
(01:08:27):
up with Bobby Lashley having an infatuation with Japanese culture.
That might not be the best idea. Groovy Goose was
watching Brian Christopher's twenty eleven return and the non reaction
that it got. Can you think of other moments in
(01:08:48):
wrestling history with non reactions? Oh? Yeah, I could think
of one in particular. Yeah, oh yeah, I could think
of one. Ever hear of a little thing called August
one warning in TNA. Remember on Impact when Tito Ortez
walked out and the Aces and Eights, the shots of
(01:09:11):
all the members, especially Ken Anderson, with these dumbfounded looks
on their faces and no pop, no reaction at all
from the audience. Nobody knew what was going on. It
was hilarious and sad all at the same time. That's
probably number one on the list. Honestly, that has to
be like on the mount rushmore of non reactions right there,
(01:09:36):
like face number one on the Mountain. There was another
one on SmackDown. Sometime in the mid to late two thousands,
Jack Swagger made his return and nobody gave a shit.
I don't remember what he did or who he interrupted,
but I know nobody cared. And the one that actually
(01:09:57):
bothered me, they did an old school raw at episode
many years ago, like a decade ago, and there was
an angle at the very end of the show where
Jake the Snake Roberts made his return, walked out there
with the snake bag over his shoulder. He ended up
putting the snake on Dean Ambrose, remember, and he was
smiling as the snake was like crawling all over. But
when Jake came out, no reaction like how like how
(01:10:23):
shitty is that? Like the people there just, I don't
want to say they didn't care. They just didn't know
who he was. That's that's how it felt to me.
They didn't even know who this man was. Like, that's
the reaction that you give to Jake the Snake Roberts
when he comes out. That's the other one that stands
out to me. Dried Chicken ten dollars. Super Chat says,
(01:10:50):
despite the money that TKO was making, WWE Creatives Team,
the Creative Team under Paul Evec are the true definition
of sanity. The John Cena tournament plan is already terrible.
I feel sorry for both Jay Usso and Cody Rhodes
(01:11:12):
when it comes to fan criticism. It's the unfortunate curse
of overexposure. I mean, Jay's getting your worse than Cody.
Cody still doesn't get a lot of a lot of criticism.
Jay gets it a lot more than Cody does. He
(01:11:35):
also says I can't wait for the women's Blood and
Guts match. Well, of the two, that would be the one.
I wouldn't really say that about the men's match. Dry
Chicken says worst opinion landing on light tubes or chairs.
(01:11:57):
Landing on light tubes is just fucking stupid. So I'm
gonna go landing on light tubes. It's pretty dumb. Slow
King says one cage, two rings, three words, Uh huh yeats.
(01:12:18):
Dry Chicken says another title belt in aw More is more, Yes,
more is more? Griga with a five? What's going on, Griga?
I haven't heard from Griga in a while. Thank you
Solo for the content, and we'll keep me companied for
a while. My dad had a stroke slash brain aneurysm.
(01:12:39):
Now that's terrible. Please love your parents and family everyone.
I'm very sorry to hear that. I don't know what
condition he's in at the moment. Hopefully it's I mean,
that's bad, but hopefully it's not a bad outcome. And
uh yeah, just you never know when these things happen.
(01:13:00):
They come out of nowhere. And you know, when you
talk to your parents or your grandparents and people you
love and hang up the phone with them or whatever
it may be, don't take anything for granted. That's the key.
Don't take anything for granted. I'm very sorry to hear that,
but keep me posted on how things turn out. We
(01:13:25):
got GMB, good old GMB. Tiffany needs to be a
full blown heel next time she wins a world title.
Pending a big character transformation, she will remain an awful babyface. Yeah,
Tiffany is just Tiffany is a fucking atrocious babyface. She's awful,
(01:13:47):
very talented, but as a babyface, not good. We got
Sidrow with us there. He is here about the guy
who threw a sandwich at ice agent. He's charged with
assault with a deli weapon. Didn't you have a similar
(01:14:10):
one last night? The deli lama? Was that you? Or
is that DUFs and scientists cross? A cheetah and a
crab went sideways real fast? And then he follows up
(01:14:30):
with this, what is the difference between a cop who
says thank you and Socrates? One is a grateful officer,
the other is a great philosopher. Well, you're getting deep
with these now, Huh. Look at Cidro. There's Duffs, Solo's
(01:14:53):
favorite Siko. Hey Solo. Did you know that Sean Young
was originally going to play Vicky Vail Batman eighty nine
but she was injured in a horse riding accident. Wasn't
she like a nut job or something in real life?
Am I thinking of the same person? Sidro? Here Pumpkin
(01:15:16):
got a dui? They say he was smashed, slow King.
Did you watch the best of Mister Perfect on the vaults?
I did not check the vault today. I'm behind on
my vault content. I have a playlist I'm keeping. I
think they had like a four hour Mister Perfect mixtape
(01:15:39):
a while back. I went through that whole thing. So
you're telling me they added more mister perfect content on
the vault. I will have to check that out if so.
I'm also in the middle of finishing the Demolition Colisseum
video that they added last week. I'm enjoying that one Sidrow.
(01:16:06):
I heard on the news that some guy was stealing
wheels off police cars. The police are working tirelessly to
catch him, so they have no tires. Ace of mast
with a ten dollars super check. Got my tickets today
for my first hog show in Los Angeles. Been starving
(01:16:28):
for some good wrestling in LA since PWG went on hiatus. Well,
this is going to fill your appetite very nicely. It's
a lot of people that I've talked to. The general
sentiment is excitement to get wrestling back in that venue.
We've never been to that venue before. The Globe Theater
(01:16:48):
is like an iconic venue. It's been renovated over the years,
but it's been there for over a century and only
recently reopened. So I think we're going to be the
first show, or first wrestling show back in that venue.
And it's a beautiful venue, so I know we're all
very excited to run our first show there. The talent's
very excited, so it's gonna be a good time. Duff's
(01:17:11):
vid says, me and Sidrow need to be careful telling
corny jokes. Someone might call the crops on us. Oh
my god, the crops, not the crops Bender mc simpson,
please tell Tony Kahn he did not need any more belts.
I did, man, I keep slipping them notes and he
(01:17:32):
just keeps ignoring me. I don't know. It's like an addiction.
He's an addict. Man, He's got a sickness. It can't
be helped ed. K What will the next new title
in AWB? I told you already, man, I expect that
at some point they will in fact have some sort
of like father and son title. They're gonna come up
(01:17:54):
with something. He's gonna come up with some kind of
new championship. A little bit of time we'll go by,
he'll start Jones in for a new one, and then
we'll get a new belt after a while. Man, you
start Jones and you start twitching. You know, can't help himself.
We got Oh brother, I need you to include the
(01:18:20):
pronunciation one more time in your super Chick. I really
I don't want to. I want to make sure I
don't butcher your name. I think it's Joe Keem, But
again I could be wrong, but I appreciate the four
ninety nine drop. Great show, but no need for another
title when half of them are not being defined. Only
(01:18:43):
title that actually or has any value is the US title.
Are you talking and wrestling in general right now? Because
I would agree on that that US Title Open challenge
on SmackDown is the only redeeming thing about that show
on Friday nights. No Milli. By the way, on Halloween,
(01:19:04):
I know they had some competition, but still they have
competition every year of some kind. SmackDown, No Milli, No
Milli for SmackDown on Friday. You believe it? No Milli.
What happened? I can tell you what happened. The show
fucking sucks, That's what happened. Retro Koh. The idea of
(01:19:30):
the national title wasn't at the point of the international title.
But it's national as in one nation. It's nonsense and
defeats the purpose of unifying the other two belts. Of
course it's nonsense. I said it. Just the idea that
you have a championship called an international title, that you
(01:19:52):
have unified into one singular belt. You got rid of
it only to debut a national title that will be
defended in internationally. Is high comedy. It is high comedy,
oz and glorious, not gonna lie. I find it hilarious
(01:20:12):
that Tony Kahan introduced another title just to make content
creators complain. I got news for you, brother. I went
to the AW reddit. Okay, I don't venture over there
very often, and they're always very very glowing and positive
over there, and what I saw before wasn't actually so positive.
I think there's a lot of people who look at
this and go, yeah, this is too much. This is
(01:20:35):
a bit much. It'll be good for the independent promotions
to get an AW championship defended on those shows. But
you already had something like that. Why was it changed
in the first place. That's what's stupid about it. You
already had that three years ago. Is what do you
(01:21:00):
call a man filling a jug up with water? Philip
very good? Not enough to get me, but bred hart.
Tony Khan has no style, He has no grace. This
(01:21:22):
Khan has a funny face. He can make a new
belt when he needs to and book a trios match
just for you inflates the pay per view card just
like a balloon. Tony k TK Tony Khan TK Tony
Khan is here. I have no idea what song that's
in reference to? That went right over my head? Oh no, no, no,
never mind, Tom Jones, what the fuck is wrong with me?
(01:21:44):
What the fuck is wrong with me? How do I
not realize that that's a great song too. I'm like,
I'm reading it like a normal message, and I'm like,
I have no idea what song is that's in reference
to it? I'm like, fuck, Tom Jones. The motherfucker dry
(01:22:09):
chicken in Turkey, says Tony Kahn, will mail you hundreds
of belts. Hey, it's another belt replica they could sell
on shop. Aw, there's still no monet puppet though on
there better Finale, Better Call Saul, or Breaking Bad again?
(01:22:30):
Two great shows and two great finales. But Breaking Bad
to me is like the high water mark. You gotta
go breaking Bad. You can't beat that, You can't beat
the original. Mac Tuff says, am I too cynical in
thinking that Triple H sabotaging La slash Drew is due
(01:22:53):
to him hating built and charismatic guys. Russo echoed a
similar thought recently. Well that's where you you lost me
right there, Russo echoed, You'll lost the argument right there.
It's always a struggle on the dynamite streams Arabian Night,
(01:23:14):
and then we'll do duffs here. Arabian Night says, less
than four thousand in a twenty thousand venue next week? Awful? Optically?
Oh was that in Greensboro? I didn't even check to
see what the attendance was next week in Greensboro? Yeah,
I mean running a twenty thousand seat venue and putting
not even five thousand people in there is pretty fucking bad.
(01:23:38):
Duff says, why do bulls wear bells because their horns
don't work? I like that one. The Matt Burning Kid
Christopher Bennett solo, WHI is another belt coming to this company?
When will Tony Kahn realize quality over a quantity? He
(01:24:01):
loves his belts. You imagine what his closet must look
like at home, Like just in terms of the belts
that he has for his pants, the way that women
have shoes, where some guys have sneakers in their closet,
you imagine the number of belts that he has. He's
a belt collector of a different type. Also, Shaffir looks
(01:24:24):
so out of place during the brawl after the match
between Mina and Meghan Baine. Yeah, I don't know what
to tell you. Duves Vin says, if you witness a
crime in the Apple store, are you considered an eye witness?
(01:24:51):
Isaac who has had a better run post WWE? Swerve
or Tony? I would say, But I mean they both
have had great runs in aw They've both reached the
top of the mountain in the company they work for.
They're both very important pieces of that company, of that roster.
(01:25:12):
I would say, what Tony has done in the women's
division as compared to Swerve in the men's division, I
give the edge to Tony, but they've both they are
too true success stories of people who were in WWE
left WWE and went on to become much bigger stars
than they were in WWE. Now, Tony never really got
(01:25:33):
out of the gate. She opted to just walk out.
She didn't like it there. There were various issues. Swerve
had his run in NXT, but had no run on
the main roster because they didn't see anything in him. Yeah,
that had that work out for you? We could use
(01:25:54):
someone like Swerve on the WWE roster right now, Alex
brother Solo, did you see wwez trolling when they put
the history of Edge and Sina rivalry on the vault?
I did notice that. I'm like, oh, that's evil, that's evil.
(01:26:17):
I logged into the vault just to take a quick peek.
Maybe it was first thing this morning. I didn't look
at what they uploaded throughout the day, but like first
thing in the morning, I looked at it was there,
and it's like two hours or whatever, like the best
of Edge in John Seedam'm like those guys running the vault,
they know what they're doing, how to get people talking.
(01:26:38):
They definitely know what they're doing. Stuff's VIDs. There's three
moles going down a tunnel. First mole says I smell sugar.
Second mole says I smell syrup. Third mole says I
smell molasses. Molasses. Two of them in fact and Jeremy
(01:27:03):
Rose ratings down, attendance down. When does TKO get rid
of Triple H Who would you imagine replaces him an
ex wrestler like HBK or rock and Goertz or someone
like Prichard. Prichard would on a temporary like on an
interim basis, until they found a more permanent replacement. Sewn
Michaels would make sense. It comes down to whether or
(01:27:25):
not he wants the job. He might be perfectly content
to just stick with NXT. He's like, these are his kids, right,
He's mister NXT if he didn't want the gig, because
I think he would probably be the likeliest person I'm
I'm telling you, maybe not right now because he's busy
in everything. But Rock and Goarts are going to work
their way in there eventually, or try to. If the
(01:27:48):
acts were to ever fall on Triple H, like in
the next couple of years, they're going to make their move.
But you know, you mentioned ratings are down, attendance is down.
It's not down enough. Triple H is not going anywhere.
He's very mighty, and that's why you're seeing him by
the way. I think part of why making all these
appearances on these shows and conferences and podcasts right some
of his official work because he is the chief content officer,
(01:28:10):
but he is trying to get his face out there
as much as possible to make himself inseparable from the
WWE brand, right Like Dana and UFC. It's hard to
imagine UFC without Dana White, and that's how he wants
people to see himself with WWE. People said that for
years about Vince. They can't imagine that WWE ever exists
(01:28:31):
without Vince McMahon. Right. That's what Triple Ash is trying
to do. But the numbers would have to really suffer
a lot more, I think for him to truly be
on the hot sea like, we're still far off from
that happening. So he's not going nowhere, not for now.
May's the great fifty two weeks of membership. The last
(01:28:54):
day of the two thousand and seven MLB season showed
that Tom Glavin had about as much business being on
the mound for the Mets as the Joker did near
a hospital. I will just always remember the Tom Glavin quote.
They maybe he was asked by somebody, you know, are
you devastated way He's like, no, I'm not devastating. I'm
(01:29:17):
not devastating. Goodbye, don't bring me back to those days.
We had it. We had it until Duano Sanchez had
his taxi cab accident. Actually Tom Glavin had one too.
He got all of his teeth knocked out something about
(01:29:37):
the Mets and cabs back then. I don't know why
the Mets couldn't call a car for these people, personal
car like a limousine. All right, well, we hit the
bonus goal we hit long ago. We did not hit
the regular goal three hundred and fifty two likes. So
we're going to do one round to be the booker,
and we are going to try to make it a
(01:29:58):
good one. So let's give it a give it a spin.
We'll give it a twirl. The wheel the wheel of doom,
and we'll see what we land on here. Can we
book a better car than Dynamite tonight? I think we can.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is now time to be the booker.
I think we can. If not, I should be relieved
(01:30:20):
of my duties. And then the question is who replaces
solo Monster? Is the head booker here and be the booker? Okay,
let's see what we got. We got the bar. We
got the bar. Guys, what I could have used after
the show tonight? I could have used the bar Seamus
(01:30:42):
and Cesorrow. So you already know this is gonna be
a really good wrestling match. We know that, and we
also know that we're giving this the buzz because this
is not going to be a great wrestling match. I
(01:31:03):
like d Lo, but what the fuck is this? I mean,
really the other guy. I could do without d Lo.
I like d Lo. I don't know what this is here.
I don't know what they were going for. I don't
know who's actually I do I know exactly whose idea
this was? This? Whatever this is, this is awful. D
(01:31:25):
low Brown and Mosh Chaz or the head the head Bangers,
whatever the fuck he was going by at that time, right, Chaz?
Is that Chad? That's his real name? Lowdown? Is that
the name of the team? Yeah, I forgot fucking Lowdown?
You know how low down on the list they would
(01:31:46):
be of a great tag teams, they'd be pretty much
rock bottom, right above Techno Team two thousand, fucking low
Down kind of random ass team? Is that? Man? No
sweep tonight? H again, we just we just had her
the other night. Michelle McCool with the Butterfly Belt graced
(01:32:11):
us yet again with her presence. I have to admit something.
It is no coincidence that she has popped up multiple
times here and be the booker this week. I must confess.
I can't. I can't lie to you people. The Undertaker,
he politicked, he got in touch with certain people, and
the Undertaker lobbied for her to be a part of
(01:32:32):
Be the Booker multiple times. Here today, I'm sorry, he
just he has he has the poll that I don't.
He used his stroke and that is why you saw
Michelle mccoole. I'm sorry. She will be wrestling Beth Phoenix.
Angry Beth Phoenix. I stand corrected. We might actually end
(01:33:03):
up with a sweep tonight, just not the sweep that
we want. Ah. Yes, save us gun Thhar please, the
world heavyweight champion. Here in this photo, Gunther in the
main event back where he will be very soon when
he's back on TV. Gunther will save us with this
(01:33:25):
main event. Oh no, talk about belts. Gunther against Triple H.
He's everywhere. He's even in Be the Booker. I just
talked about. He's putting his fucking face everywhere. Now he's
in Be the Booker as well, and he's got two belts.
(01:33:46):
No less in this image. Look at this, we already
know who's going over in this main event. I forgot
to mention the toxic Turtles. No, I didn't. The Toxic
Turtles are actually higher up on the list than Lowdown.
I always loved it when they were on their shelves
and they couldn't move and the other member would have
to come in the ring and roll them over. That
(01:34:08):
was more entertaining than Lowdown. Anyway, Thank you guys. Probably
had more fun with you and hopefully you had more
fun with me than we did watching this show tonight.
This was not the best episode of Dynamite. But next
week is blooding Guts, so we have that to look
forward to. You have a SmackDown stream on Friday night
(01:34:29):
to look forward to. Hopefully we have another United States
Championship Open Challenge with Iliya Dragonov to look forward to.
Last week it was against Nathan Fraser. Who will it
be this week? As long as it's not the MFTs,
will be okay. Because Tomatonga has been eyeballing the US title.
Toma Tonga is coming for that championship. It's just a
matter of which week do they do the match. But
(01:34:52):
that is the next time I will be live with
you here on the Channel. We'll try to end the
week in a strong way. Joseph Stewart has one more
question here do you have a favorite Batman animated series episode,
a particular episode. I do not. No. No Mask of
the Phantasm is my preferred animated movie when it comes
(01:35:15):
to Batman, but as far as episodes, I do not.
All right, go back and check out the other content
here on the channel, including the raw review from Monday night,
the Wrestling Tropes video did really well from a last
week's show, as well as my segment on jay Usso,
which last I checked had something like thirty two or
thirty three thousand views. A lot of stuff there you
(01:35:38):
can go check out, and I will see you back
here on for Friday night for the SmackDown review. Be
you well, stay safe, have yourselves a good night, and
we'll do it all over again, because even if SmackDown
is terrible, we can at least have fun here on
the stream. That's the goal. I'll see you Friday night.
