I've got a LOT to say about the WWE and AEW shows this weekend with thoughts on WRESTLEPALOOZA, including the John Cena/Brock Lesnar match, what War Games could look like at Survivor Series and the first name already announced for the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame.  Then it's a full review for AEW ALL OUT, which I believe was the stronger show of the weekend... how the AEW tag team division has finally been revived... Tony Khan's reaction to the idea of running a major show WrestleMania weekend in 2027... NXT Homecoming thoughts, a possible TNA invasion coming and what's being said about Joe Hendry's future... wrestlers who would make great movie characters... the greatest African-American female wrestler of all time... thoughts on Bret Hart's latest comments about Triple H... and who are the current 4 Pillars of AEW?

Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's business time. Baby. You are listening to Solo Monsters
Sounds Off. I love you so, mama, monster dude, I
want your soul. Woman, you got grown ass wrestlers in
the back going on Twitter. Come over here is that
Pet Patterson? You have legs? Week I was ninety nine

(00:24):
percent positive it was just chessed up. Now, congratulations. Who
hasn't beat Daniel Barcia wrestled Palooza versus All Out, WWE
versus AW Choose your fighter. Thankfully you don't have to
choose here I get to talk about them both. This

(00:45):
is episode nine to thirty of The Solemn Monster Sounds
Off for Sunday, September twenty first, twenty twenty five. You
know it took long enough, but Rajah Jackson, the son
of Quentin Rampage. Jackson, was arrested on Thursday for his
beating of Psycho stew at last month's Knox Pro event.

(01:05):
He was taken into custody on Thursday morning. He was
booked on a felony assault charge, and he was held
on a pathetically low fifty thousand dollars bond. He has
already been bailed out. His father has said that his
son should spend some time in jail for what happened,
and that community service, anger management courses and therapy would

(01:26):
be good for him. Rampage Jackson, the model father who
once said that he saved up college tuition money for
his two Japanese kids and bail money for Raja and
his brother, but a great dad. We'll see how much
time he actually ends up serving. But I don't see
how you can do what he did and not spend

(01:46):
at least a couple of years behind bars. Like there
has to be consequences for what happened here. The fact
that it even took this long to arrest him is ridiculous.
But I watched Russell Palooza and I watched All Out
last night. I went live for Wressell Palooza. I had
two thousand people with me for that, so thank you. Objectively,

(02:07):
all Out was the better of the two shows. I've
got a full review for the pay per view coming
up here. I just finished watching the main event this morning,
quite a bit longer than I was expecting it to be,
but I'm all caught up now. I've got thoughts on that.
I've got thoughts on Wressell Palooza. Boy do I have
thoughts on Wressell Palooza, the first WWE show on ESPN,

(02:29):
plus some thoughts on the NXT Homecoming show on Tuesday,
Tony Kahn's comments about possibly running a show Wrestle Mini
a weekend in twenty twenty seven with WWE being in
Saudi Arabia, and we'll take your questions at the end.
That does that sound If you'd like to make a
PayPal donation, I sure would appreciate it. You could do
so on the solomonster dot com ten dollars or more.

(02:51):
We'll get you a nickname and a shout out. Here
is part of a roll call on this show. I
want to say thank you to the Portland pop Star
now and forever, Paul Hamilton, Big b Bryant, Visa, The Diamond,
Dallas Dance Machine, Harrison Soapp, Velvet Revolver, Robert Murray, The
Chicago Slayer, Willie Iichord, The Georgia Nightmare, Timothy Tillis, The

(03:12):
Wichita Workhorse, Clayton Nettleton, Knight Stalker, nif Al Saphar Killshot,
Keith Hart, invest in the Game, Trey Porter, Thank you
very much. We got some cool additions. If you are
a channel member on the YouTube channel the Legends Tier.
I've gotten back to uploading a lot of the lost
episodes of the SoundOff that are not available anywhere else

(03:36):
and have not been available for many, many years. So
this is going back to the early days. If you
are a Legends Tier member, you have access. You already
had access to the first thirteen episodes of the SoundOff
that I ever did, going back to two thousand and seven.
So I just recently picked up with episode fourteen. Here's
a little sample of it. Don't even ask me what

(03:57):
that means. I have no idea what that means. I'd
bet you that TNA has no idea what that means.
My god, I sound so young, young solo monster. But
there's some gems in there. So that's from episode fourteen.
This week I uploaded the second ever episode of SI
Scoops Live, which was the old Monday night raw post
show that myself and Noah Mark used to do live

(04:18):
on Mondays for about thirty four episodes between two thousand
and eight and twenty twelve. So episode two that was
right before WrestleMania twenty four. So there's some WrestleMania predictions
in there and some phone calls a lot of interesting
stuff going back in that time capsule. So again, if
you are a legends to here, remember you have access
to that right now. Go check that out. If you

(04:40):
are not, please consider becoming one. There's going to be
more retro audio going up in the weeks and months
to come, so I hope you enjoy that little trip
down memory lane. A couple of other notes here, I
want to just mention that Tuesday Night Titans coming up
this week over on JDACH channel will not be airing
on Tuesday for one week only. We were bumping it

(05:02):
to Thursday, so that is the current plan. See the
TNT initials they still work. So instead of Tuesday, it'll
be same time, but on Thursday for this week only.
Because I have some family business to tend to, so
I just wanted to let everybody know. And on that note,
you know, I mentioned last week that a very close
family member was in a very bad accident last weekend.

(05:25):
It was my aunt. She had a very bad fall
at home. She is still in the hospital. We are
hopeful that she will be able to start speaking and
get the tube out and everything later in the week.
That is the hope. But yeah, I mentioned that there
was a very serious, very long, twelve hour surgery that
she underwent. She made it through the surgery, okay. It

(05:48):
was to fuse her T two through T six vertebrae
and then they did what's called the lamindectomy from T
three to T five, So it was a very involved procedure,
but it went as well as could be expected. She
still doesn't have any movement below the waist, but day
by day, bit by bit, we're just hoping for more

(06:09):
positive news as the days go on. So that's been
on my mind a lot, and so I just want
to say thank you to everybody who sent in well
wishes and very nice messages. They are very much appreciated,
and keep the positive vibes coming because she sure could
use them right now, as could my uncle who has
been a wreck and it's just terrible. I hate seeing

(06:31):
him in that state. Yeah, they've been married over sixty years.
That's a long time, and you know, to see someone
you love that much in that situation obviously is awful,
but it also puts you in a really bad headspace.
So we're all just trying to be a support system
and just hope for the best. So again, I just

(06:52):
want to say thank you. So let's start with Wrestle Palooza.
Wressel Palooza was the first WWE show on e ESPN,
the start of this new era that they are talking about.
I watched it on Netflix funny enough with my VPN
because they're still working out certain agreements with cable companies

(07:14):
and satellite providers and other providers that are not yet
worked out, YouTube TV being one of them. But I
didn't have any issues as far as doing it the
way that I did it. I did hear from other
people that were having some issues accessing the show through ESPN.
They either were going into the wrong app. I mean,
there was a lot of confusion coming into this where

(07:34):
some people thought that it was on ESPN Plus, you know,
and if they were an ESPN Plus subscriber, oh how
come I can't get it on here? And I mean
it is a lot because you have all of these
different services and all of these different apps and everything,
and it's not always made entirely clear. They also kind
of rushed this out very quickly. This was not supposed

(07:56):
to start just yet, but then plans changed. But then
there were other people who said once they were able
to get the show. They didn't have any issues, and
you know, it looked good. As far as the production
of the show, it's still being handled by WWE. ESPN
is not handling the production of the show, So I
didn't think the show was radically different in that regard.
The one thing that was noticeable is that there was

(08:17):
a lot more pyro on the show than a lot
of these pls tend to have, not only at the beginning,
although especially at the beginning, but even for some of
the wrestlers. So that was really the only significant change
that I noticed as far as any of that goes.
But there was a lot of hype surrounding this show
as being the start of a new era and again

(08:37):
the start of the ESPN era, and they were going
to potentially have new reviewers tuned in, and so what
big plans do they have for this show? And Triple
H was doing media and he was on Sports Center
and he was talking about how you're going to see
spectacle and surprises you know here on this show, and
for all to talk about this and the counter programming

(08:58):
and everything else, what we got was a very average
WWEPL I would say, maybe a step above a Saturday
night's main event, but it was a show that I
felt was carried by the ladies. You had Becky Lynch
and aj Lee, who were two parts of one of
the big attractions on the show, which was the Mixtag

(09:18):
team match, and I thought that they delivered. And then
you had the Women's World Championship match, guaranteed to have
a new champion, Eo Sky and Stephanievacaire and to the
surprise of no One, certainly now this guy, they went
out there and they had an excellent match. They had
the best match on the entire show. So yes, for
the five matches that we had, I do believe that

(09:39):
the women carried the show last night. Now we also,
I'll start with this piece of news because they did
make some news here on this show. Other than crowning
a new women's World Champion, we already have our first inductee,
speaking of women, first inductee into the WWE Hall of
Fame class of twenty twenty six. This is the earliest
they've ever announced somebody going into the Hall of Fame.

(10:01):
And I mentioned Triple H coming into this show promised
spectacle and surprises. The only real surprise that we got
on this show was the undertaker, coming out unannounced, riding
his motorcycle to the ring and riding it right up
to where Stephanie McMahon was sitting or standing. I guess

(10:22):
she was standing and clapping in the front row. And
he climbs over the barricade and he takes a seat
in the crowd next to her, just two fans hanging
out in the crowd, and it was all for him
to announce that Stephanie would be inducted into the Hall
of Fame next year, which clearly she was not aware of.
She was taken by surprise by all of this, and
she was very trying to hold it in. She wasn't

(10:43):
like crying, but you can kind of tell she probably
wanted to. And so it was a big surprise for
her and it was a nice moment. And now I
see Shane McMahon's son Declan is on Twitter lobbying for
his dad Shane to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Oh,
he'll get it. They'll all get in. Just give it time,

(11:04):
and you know what they should be in. Vince is
going to be into at some point, it just may
not happen until he's already in the dirt, but he'll
be in the Hall of Fame one day as well.
So I can't clown on Stephanie going into the Hall
of Fame because she was a central figure in the
Attitude era, into the Rootless Aggression era, really every era
since the Attitude era when she really hit the scene

(11:25):
on TV, she has been a pivotal part of the show,
whether it's as a babyface, as a heel character, a
general manager, whatever the case may be, the authority for
better or worse. So of course, you know, you could
definitely make the argument that she is a worthy candidate
to be inducted into, of all things, the WWE Hall

(11:46):
of Fame, and I get no argument there. Of course,
we can quibble about whether or not she should be
in before some other names that have yet to be
inducted into the Hall of Fame, but we know who's
making the decisions there, and none of this should be
a surprise. You know that Stephanie, of all people, is
going into the Hall of Fame now, so that was unexpected. Now,
I don't think anybody had our first Hall of Fame

(12:08):
announcement coming in September, because I feel like going into
the Hall of Fame this year. We didn't start getting
announcements until it was very late in the game, so
they got an early start this year. I don't know
who the headline inductee is going to be next year.
Better not be her, so I don't know if it's
going to be John Cena. Honestly would make sense. You know,
John Cena is retiring at the end of the year.

(12:30):
I take him at his word that he really is done.
I thought maybe they would actually put him in this
year and tie it into the retirement year. But it
would actually make a lot of sense to induct him
right after he retires, and he would certainly be a
big headline attraction that they could sell tickets for and
build that Hall of Fame class around, And him and
Stephanie going into the Hall of Fame in the same

(12:51):
year would be kind of appropriate in a way, considering
how important she was to his career. You know that
story about how he was this close from being cut
until Stephanie was on the bus on one of the
European tours I think it was, and heard him. Was
he battle rapping or whatever freestyling? He was freestyling in
the back of the bus, and She's like Hey, can

(13:12):
you do that on TV? And the rest is history
save this man's career. Where would he be today? Were
it not for Stephanie hearing him rap on the bus,
he wouldn't be peacemaker. I'll tell you that he probably
wouldn't be doing Hollywood movies. But anyway, we'll wait on
the rest of the Hall of Fame class to be announced.

(13:33):
John Cene is not in the Hall of Fame yet.
He was in the Hall of Payne. Last night a
wrestled Balooza. He was in the opening match on the
show against brock Lesner. This was really outside of the mixtag,
but really this was the headline attraction on this show.
They built this show around John Cena and brock Lesner's

(13:56):
first match in over a decade on Sena got f
five by brock Lesnar at SummerSlam when brock made a
surprise return. We had not seen him in two years,
and since then there hasn't been a whole lot done
to really hype this match up. They really were relying
on their star power and name recognition, their history together.

(14:19):
They had a couple of video packages on SmackDown chronicling
their days going all the way back to the OVW
Class of two thousand and two, and outside of a
couple of times at the F five John Cena, that
was really all we got. You know. Their great idea
to build this thing up was to have Brock show
up on SmackDown two weeks ago and beat up Our
Truth and do some comedy, and then he beat up

(14:39):
Corey Graves and the announcers on SmackDown on Friday. So
it was a whole lot of nothing leading into this show.
So I feel like it's appropriate that what we got
here on this ple was a whole lot of nothing
from brock Lesnar versus John Cena. They went out and
they had an inferior rehash of their last singles match

(14:59):
of eleven years ago. So in many ways, it was
a match worthy of the build that WWE gave it
coming into this show. The amount of effort that they
put into promoting this match was matched only by the
quality of the match itself. And it was very simple.
It was Brock Lesner coming out looking as yoked as
I have ever seen him in his entire career. I

(15:22):
think he's bigger than he has ever been, and John
Cena comes out ding ding ding, and it was not
the massacre that we got in twenty fourteen. I mean
that was just a shellacking. That was a squash, is
what that was. This was like one step down from
a total squash. Scena got a little bit of offense
in but not a whole lot. We got some supplex's,

(15:44):
we got a lot of finishers spam. I think in
the end it was six f five's that Brock gave
him and then he pinned him. That was it. Brocklesner
beat John Cena. I picked Brock to win this match.
I did not vision the match going down exactly the
way that we got it here, but Brock winning was

(16:05):
not really much of a surprise. And then they cut
to the crowd and you saw these little kids in
the crowd wearing John Cena shirts who were crying and
in tears. Oh he lost the busher. They were very upset.
He like my kid's impression. Huh, they're very upset. One
of my favorite things this week was John Alba on
the media call I think it was a media call

(16:25):
the other day, asking the executives from ESPN about brock
Lesnar being involved with this show when he is named
in an active ongoing lawsuit against Vince McMahon WWE. He
asked the question and their response was, we don't request
specific talents. That's all under WWE's purview. Now, this is

(16:46):
after John Sena previously said he doesn't lobby for opponents.
He just does what's asked of him. So for the
people who were coming up with all kinds of reasons
why Brock was brought back for this show and Triple
H talking about wanting to give John what he wanted
on his retirement toward it's all about giving John Cena
what he wants here, That's what he said. I think
it was the post SummerSlam scrum, and then you had

(17:09):
other people saying, oh, well, you know it was ESPN
that wanted him on this show. I love how they're
all throwing WWE under the bus on this one, like
it it's great. It's like, don't look at us, we
didn't make that call. You're you're pointing the finger in
the wrong direction here. So I just thought that was funny.
But yes, that's what they gave us. They gave us
a rehashed version of Summer Slam twenty fourteen, and it

(17:32):
sure looks like it's building to a rehashed version of
Extreme Rules twenty twelve for John Cena's retirement match on
Saturday Night's main event, where he takes a beating, but
he slays the Beast again as he did in twenty twelve,
so that he can win his final match. That's where
it looks like we're headed because we've been wondering who

(17:55):
is John seen his final opponent going to be in December?
Is it going to be Gunther, Is it going to
be somebody that we're not thinking of. It's gonna be
Drew Mackin'. Who's it gonna be. Well, now it looks
like we have our answer. It's gonna be brock Lesner.
Because there's no way that what we saw last night
is the end of this. It felt like the beginning
of something. And by the way, let me just say,

(18:17):
if it's the beginning of something, and they're gonna tell
a story with these two guys, that's fine. If that's
the story they want to tell. I don't have to
like it. But that's the story they want to tell. Great,
It doesn't make what they did last night any better.
You can still objectively sit there and watch the match
and then come away from it and think, man, that sucked.

(18:39):
That's a perfectly valid opinion to have, because I sure
was underwhelmed by what I saw yesterday. And just imagine
if you're one of those people dropping god knows how
much money to sit in one of those ringside seats
and you were looking to this match, right because this
was one of the big key matches on this show,
and you paid an ungodly amount of money. You know,
you don't even have to pay on godly amount of

(19:00):
money to be at ringside these days. You could be
one level lot and pay an ungodly amount of money
for these tickets. And then that's the John Cena Brocklesner
match that you get. It's amazing, it's amazing, But that's
what it looks to be. That that's where it looks
like this is headed and there are worse ways to
go with it. If the idea is to have John

(19:22):
Cena make the heroic comeback at the end of all
this and get that big win back over brock Lesner,
it doesn't change the fact that it is disappointing that
we missed out on other potential matches in favor of
going back to the well with brock Lesner. And John Cena,
not just last night, but now it looks like for

(19:44):
multiple matches, because it sure does look that way right now.
That's what's disappointing about this. And the match itself just
wasn't It just wasn't very good. There was nothing to
really cut away from that thinking, boy, this was great,
and I've seen John see to brock Lesnar matches in
the past, or I came away from it thinking, boy,

(20:05):
that was a spectacle. You know. I can't say that
it was a technical masterpiece, but it didn't have to be,
you know, it was just it was unique, It was different,
it was special in some way, and it just felt
like it was a real fight for his life or
whatever it was. Because their Extreme Rules match was great,
and their Summer Slim match in twenty fourteen wasn't great
in the same way, but it was kind of great

(20:25):
in a different way. And now here we are eleven
years later and we're just running the same playbook. And
so excuse me if I don't sit here and worship
at the altar of John Cena versus brock Lesnar again,
because been there, done that, and when it was done
the first time, it was done better. So yeah, I
would say if people didn't come away from this match

(20:46):
liking it, or didn't come away from this match excited
about the story that they're about to or the journey
that they're about to be taken on, those people have
a pretty damn good reason to feel that way. Now.
Brock Lesnar was introduced by Paul Hayman. We saw them
have a very brief interaction on SmackDown on Friday night,

(21:06):
and Brock said to Hayman we should talk. We didn't
know what he meant by that, but I start even
on Friday night during the review, I started talking about
what does this mean for wargames potentially? Well, what it
meant was he wanted Paul to introduce him at wrestled Palooza.
But one would expect that there will be more to
the relationship between the two of them. Even though Hayman
has fucked this guy over multiple times in the past.

(21:29):
He must have you know, It's funny. I was gonna
say he must have dirty photos of Brock or something,
but I don't think bron gives a shit. I mean,
unless he's got some kind of a pe tape with
brock Lesner. But yeah, he must have something holding over
this guy's head here that Brock is so forgiving with him.
So let's assume that this relationship is renewed and it's
going to continue. What does that look like going forward?

(21:50):
I don't even know when we're going to see Brock next.
I don't know if we're going to see him on
TV this week. I don't think he's scheduled to be
a Crown Jewel. I mean that could always change, but
I'm aware of him being advertiser scheduled for Perth next month.
For all we know, we may not see Brock again
for two months. But we are heading into Survivor series

(22:10):
in San Diego in November, and we have men's and
women's wargames matches. Not much we do know. How does
this tie in potentially with wargames this year? If you
have and you assume that the Vision will be involved
in wargames on the heel side, seth Rollins, bron Breaker, Bronson, Reid, right,

(22:30):
those are Hayman's boys. If Hayman now has this relationship
renewed with brock Lesner, brock Lesner is not joining the Vision.
Could he join with the Vision as a favor to
Hayman in a War Games match, absolutely, and you would
probably still need one more person because they generally do
five on five, But you could see, you know that

(22:51):
the Wargames match is coming into focus now, especially if
the idea is for Brock to be seen as final
opponent in December. You could see them on opposite sides
of the ring or ringings, I guess I should say,
in a war Games match, and John Sen has never
been in a war Games match before. Brock Lesner has
never been in a war Games match before. It's kind

(23:14):
of terrifying the idea of being locked in a cage
with Brock Lesner. But you could see Lesner and the
Vision and you know, one other person and on the
opposite side, John Cena, Roman Reigns, who of course is
going to come back looking for revenge on the Vision,
CM Punk, who will be feuding until the day he
dies with Seth Rollins. So imagine sena Punk, and Roman

(23:35):
all on the same side together. You round that team
out probably with the USOS. That's probably what they would do.
You get your five on five match, and you could
easily see where war Games is headed this year, and
if it pans out that way, it would be the
biggest Wargames match that WWE has ever done, just in
terms of the star power in that match, it would
be the biggest one they've ever done. But I think
that's the direction that things are headed. They had the

(23:59):
ussos against bron Breaker and Bronson Reid La Knight ended
up getting worked into the match as a special guest referee,
so at least he had a role on the show.
I don't have an issue with that. It got him
on the show in some way, even though him being
the referee really did not factor directly in any meaningful
way into the finish. There was a spot where Jay Usso,

(24:20):
in delivering a chair shot to bron Breaker's back late
in the match, the chair obviously ricocheted back up at
him and he got cut and he started just bleeding
like a pig, blood everywhere. Couldn't really tell initially how
it happened, but it had to happen on the ricochet
or the recoil or whatever from that chair shot. And

(24:43):
then the Vision get the win, which they had to.
I mean, they lost at Summer Slim, you couldn't beat
them again here. But one thing I did not notice,
and I didn't mention it in the review last night.
I didn't notice it upon my first viewing, but I
did notice it when I went back to watch it
again because I I wanted to see exactly where Jay
got cut open, and I didn't notice the way that

(25:04):
the broken slim gym table because the ussos had been
speared through a table in the corner, and then ultimately
Jay got pinned after taking a tsunami splash. Jimmy was
still down in the corner in the rubble of the table,
and the top part of the table was still up
after Reid hit the tsunami, though I guess kind of
the momentum of him landing on the mac because he's

(25:26):
a big guy and then he goes to Pinja. Watching
the top part of the broken table slowly fold over
Jimmy in the corner was tremendous. I don't know how
I didn't notice that the first time, but that was like,
all right, time to go to sleep Jimmy, like the
blanket coming over him. So that was funny, but it

(25:48):
was the right outcome. I thought it was a quality
tag team match. There was some good action. It just
kind of randomly turned into a no disqualification match because
La Knight was the referee, and he wasn't really he
wasn't really following the rules of the match. He was
being very lenient, so that's how he ended up with
chairs and tables and there was no disqualifications, but he

(26:08):
counted the three reluctantly for the Vision. There was There
was no heel turn or betrayal of Jay Uso and
the USOS or anything like that, but obviously it's going
to play a role in the drama between him and Jay,
and the tension is going to continue to just get
worse and worse, and we'll see where it ends up.
Maybe if La Knight does go heal or I don't know,
maybe they eventually settle their differences. Who knows. Maybe La

(26:29):
Knight is factored into that potential Wargames match, although I
don't know that he necessarily fits in there, but you know,
he's certainly been feuding with the Vision for most of
the summer, so if the Vision is going to be
in a Wargames match, you can absolutely find a spot
for La Knight in a match like that, because every
fucking week on Raw it feels like he's wrestling some

(26:50):
version of seth Rawlins and bron Breaker and Bronson Reid
and losing in every single match. It would be kind
of nice to see him on the winning end of
a war Game match and finally getting a big win
over this crew. That would be nice. We do have
a new Women's World Champion. Her name is Stephanie Vicuierre,
and we got an excellent match between Stephanie and EO Sky,

(27:13):
Stephanie winning with a version of a spiral tap with
basically like an inverted spiral tap, just a thing of
beauty pins are clean in the middle of the ring.
No Oscar. EO made it very clear on Monday night,
I don't want you out there. I don't need you
out there. I need to do this on my own.
Oscar was not happy about that, but she said, okay, fine,
you don't want me there, you want you don't want

(27:34):
any help. I won't be there, and she wasn't. But
you have to assume that now that EO did it
on her own and failed, Oscar is not going to
be too pleased about that. So we know that Stephanie
is going on to not defend, but she's going on
to wrestle the WWE Women's Champion at Crown Jewel Because
we have confirmation that we're getting Crown Jewel title matches

(27:54):
again this year. So it's going to be the champion
on one side against the champion on the other side,
Cody against Seth Rawlin, Stephanie Vicaire against very likely Tiffany Stratton.
So that's where things are headed for Stephanie and where
that leaves EO. One would assume that we're going to
get a tag match and it's going to be Rio
Ripley and Eoski against the Kabuki Warriors, possibly in Perth

(28:16):
at Crown Jewel. They will still be in Perth for
Raw that Monday, and without the Crown Jewel nonsense, you
could have Rio Ripley challenging for the Women's World Championship
on that Raw show coming out of Crown Jewel because
Ria just last week, Rio went up to Stephanie and
told Stephanie, I got next. Whoever comes out of this

(28:37):
as the champion, I'm putting you on notice, and if
that's you, I'm putting you on notice. I'm coming for
that title. So we know she's coming for the title,
and if she's coming for the title, then one would
think it would be in Australia but if it can't
be at Crown Jewel, then it'll have to be forty
eight hours later. Stephanie. That was very emotional. At the

(28:58):
end of the match, she went over to her father,
who flew in from Chile. He was in the front row,
and it was just a very cool moment. Stephanie's awesome.
She's one of the best in the world. Eosky, in
my opinion, is the best in the world when it
comes to the women. Certainly in WWE, She's tremendous. She
continues to just shit out great matches. Stephanie. I have

(29:21):
no issue with Stephanie being the champion. I just think
it was premature. I would have waited a little bit.
I would have built up to it a little bit more.
Can't hate on the fact that Stephanie is the champion now,
and you know whether or not they're going to keep
the title on her in the long term or if
she's going to have a short run and then have
to fight to win the belt back. That's really the

(29:42):
only question. Do you put her in a position to
have an extended run or do you get the title
off of her and then build to a moment where
she wins it. Back. I mean, she woned. She had
her big emotional moment last night, So now I don't
really see the purpose in taking it off of her
anytime soon. Probably should just be the champion at least
going into WrestleMania. That's just how it feels like to me.

(30:06):
I don't really see the point in taking it off
of her that soon. So if Rhea does get the
shot in Perth, she probably falls short, and maybe you
build to a rematch next year. Maybe that still could
be the WrestleMania match. But this right here, this was
the best match on the entire show. So if you're
looking from like an in ring quality standpoint, these two

(30:27):
women went out there for roughly twenty minutes, and it
started slow, and the crowd was a little quiet, but
they slowly built and the crowd became invested, and then
they built to this great finish. So it was everything
that I was hoping the match would be. You know.
It was just a tremendous back and forth battle between
two of the best in the entire women's division. And then,

(30:49):
in what should have been the main event, hindsight being
what it is, it should have been the main event
of this show. We got the mixed tag team match
see I'm punking aj Lee back in the ring for
the first time over ten years, taking on Seth Rollins
and Becky Lynch. This match felt like it lasted five
business days. This did not need to be thirty minutes long.

(31:11):
See this right here is where having a sixth match
on this show would have been wise. And that way
you shave a few minutes off a match like this,
even if it's just five or six minutes. You know,
sometimes that's all you need. Because there were parts of
this match where it started to drag, especially before aj
Lee got the hot tag, which they wisely built to.

(31:32):
It definitely dragged in certain parts, but the crowd was
into all the key moments, especially down the stretch. Things
really picked up and they had a fun match. You know,
I had a lot of fun watching this match. Aj
looked a little rusty in spots, especially when she was
throwing strikes, which obviously is is not and never was
her strong suit. That didn't look too good, but not

(31:54):
bad for someone who hasn't wrestled the match in ten years.
I thought overall, she looked real good out there, and
it was the right finish because they had aj submitting
Becky to win the match for her team, and that
now puts her in a position to challenge for the
Intercontinental title, and that very well may happen at Crown
Julie do Becky and AJ one on one. Now, I

(32:14):
went back and I rewatched the finish and I will say,
you know, she had that octopus submission on. That was
her hold back in the day. It did not look great.
You know, Becky tapped out like you're supposed to wrench
back on the arm, and she really wasn't. She was
holding on to Becky's arm, but she really wasn't doing

(32:37):
anything with it. It's kind of like what I see
John Cena do the STF and so many times over
the years, John Cena would apply this hold, and I
know Steve Austin used to kind of rib him and
criticize him in kind of like a playful way, but
you know, you got to tighten that shit up, son,

(32:57):
And I think a lot of it stemmed from early
in his career when he was a play lying that move.
He was really like choking and hurting people with it,
and so then he just went the complete opposite direction
where he would apply the move in like eight times
out of ten, it would look like total shit, you know,
because he would cross the arms, but he wasn't really
pulling back, and the person would have to sell like

(33:20):
they were in great distress and they were in great pain,
and I'm like, this looks completely ridiculous. That's kind of
what this reminded me of a little bit. She wasn't
really wrenching back on the arm, so it didn't look great.
But again, I'll cut her some slack. I think for
her first match back, she was fine overall. And she's
got plenty of opponents to work with, you know, I
was running through some of the names on the review

(33:40):
last night. Obviously Becky is the most imminent one if
you assume she's going to get a title match. But
you got Becky, and you got liv Morgan when she's back,
you got Roxanne. Right, they're kind of the same size
you've got. I mean, I'm looking on the SmackDown side.
If there's anybody on the SmackDown side, there's more people
on the raw side. I feel like for her to
work you could throw Bailey in there as well. Right,

(34:03):
Bailey's another one, so plenty of people for her to
work with and whether it's a babyface or a heel.
Obviously she's a babyface right now, but we know AJ
makes a great heel. Right, it's way too soon to
be talking about AJ as a heel, but if she
signed a multi year, long term contract full time, it
may happen at some point. And then you turn heel

(34:23):
and all of a sudden, now you open things up
to a whole bunch of new opponents for her to
work with. I'd love to see what she could do
in the ring with someone like an EO Sky. You know,
she's not the wrestler that Eosky is, but maybe EO
can carry AJ to one of the better matches of
her career. You know, what would an aj Lee Bianca
bell air match look like. You know, I'm very curious

(34:45):
to see how she gels with some of the newer
women on the roster. I say newer, I mean Bianca
has been there at this point for years and years.
But for AJ this is all new. You know, she
hasn't had the chance to work with hardly any of
these people, so for her it's new. And then we
had Cody Rhoads in the main event, retaining the WWE
Championship over Drew McIntyre, and Drew McIntyre has a built

(35:07):
in excuse now to rage on the officiating because there
was a spot in this match where the referee had
to dive out of the ring to avoid being squashed
in the corner, and then Drew got a roll up,
but there was no referee because the referee had to
crawl back into the ring, so there was a little
bit of a delay. Of course, Cody kicked out, so

(35:28):
Drew now has a built in excuse between that and
the referee stopping him from doing the Claymore kickoutside the
ring again to Cody through the announced desk. Referee jumped
out of the ring and said no, no, no, you can't
do that. I'm like, why we see shit like this
in every match, but all of a sudden, oh, you
can't do this. So they've given him plenty of ammunition
to show up on TV this week and talk to

(35:50):
Nick all this and say, look, I got screwed. I
deserve a rematch, and he will get a real and
he has to get a rematch. I don't know if
the rematch is just going to be a TV match
that they throw out there sometime between now and Crown Jewel,
because I look at it again, I mentioned Crown Jewel.
It's going to be Seth and Cody. We already know this.
We already got to stare down down the post show
last night, Cody and set they held up their respective

(36:12):
titles and they went eye to eye. We know that
match is happening on October eleventh, Right, that's already set
in stone. But I look at this and Seth Rollins
has never beaten Cody Rhodes, Right, he lost three pl
matches to him. Seth lost on this show last night.
Cody won on this show last night. I think you

(36:34):
take all of that and you combine it with the
fact that they're building to a Wargames match that probably
has the vision on one side. I think you send
the Heels into that match strong. So all signs point
to Seth Rollins finally beating Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel
next month. But for Drew, I'm looking to Survivor series,

(36:55):
and if you assume Cody is going to be defending
on that show and he's not going to be in
war he can't just put everybody in fucking war Games.
You have to have other matches on the show. If
you assume Cody is defending his championship, you can still
do a rematch with him and Drew, and I dare
say you could still have Drew win the title. You
could still have him beat Cody at Survivor Series and

(37:15):
give him a run with the belt. It's not too late.
But for Drew it just feels like he's forever stuck
in neutral. You know, he's forever stuck in this spot
where he's got his hands on the brass ring but
it's super glued to the desk and he can't pry
it off, right. That's Drew McIntyre. And they talk about

(37:37):
that run he had during COVID and there were no
fans and he was this great representative of the company,
but he didn't really get to have the run he
wanted to have. It's hard to believe that, you know,
five years ago now and he still hasn't had that run.
He may never have that run. I would not object though,
if they wanted to put the belt on him at

(37:58):
Survivor Series and let him run with it for few months.
I just don't know if they have the balls to
do it. And where Randy Orton fits into any of this,
and that was my biggest issue with that main event,
or at least that match going on last last night,
which is that for all the talk and all the
hype around the show and surprises and big spectacle and
all this stuff that Triple H loved to talk about

(38:18):
here coming into Wrestle Palooza and the fact that they
were closing with this match made you think they have
to have something big planned here, and fuck me, I
know right, I just set myself up for disappointment. They
never told you that something big was going to happen
at the end, but you have certain expectations when you
go into this show. And so I'm watching this match,

(38:41):
and the match itself was good. It wasn't a great match,
it was a good match, and they were telling a
story around not only the stuff with MacIntyre and the referee.
Cody was sort of selling the effects like maybe he
physically wasn't quite where he needed to be when he
came back from that injury. You know, Drew push him
out for five weeks. He looked a little woozy at times.

(39:04):
That didn't play into the finish at all. Like the
first opening minutes of the match, Cody is going for
a Cody cutter, but he stops and he sort of
collapses for a moment, like his like his head is
bothering him. Like remember when Sean Michaels collapsed on Raw
those years ago from post concussion syndrome. That's kind of
how Cody was acting. And I'm like, Okay, they're setting

(39:26):
something up here where this may factor into the finish.
Maybe maybe Cody really is going to lose, even though
I never really fully bought into the idea because I
just knew about the Crown Jewel stuff, right, you weren't
going to do Drew McIntyre against Seth Rollins, So I
really never did buy into the idea that Cody might lose,
but I at least expected that, you know, what he

(39:47):
was teasing here was going to play a bigger role
in the match, and then it never really did. It
really didn't. It was more about Drew's foot because when
he put his foot through the announced desk towards the end,
you know, Cody moved out of the way. Drew was
selling it like he broke his foot, got back in
the ring, he went for a claymore he collapsed before
he even could reach Cody just under his own weight

(40:10):
and that led into the finish of the match, so
that was a little strange, but he beat Drew and
then he celebrated and that was it. That was how
they went off the air. Very anti climactic. That's why
I say the mixtag match, being the longest match on
the show and one of the big attractions on the show,
really should have closed the show. But you know, they

(40:31):
wanted the WWE Championship at the end, so that's what
we ended up with. So when the show was over,
you know, there was definitely some good stuff on the show,
but you know, I just was very unimpressed. It was
very nonplused when the show was over. I'm like, okay,
it was a show all this talk about the start
of a new era and all this, Like yeah, all right,

(40:54):
this new era feels a lot like the old era.
Just the initials have changed, you know, the the app
that you have to open has changed. That's literally the
only thing that's changed. Instead of opening Peacock, you're opening
the ESPN app, unless, of course, you live overseas and
nothing has changed and you're watching on Netflix like you
always have. That was Russell Palooza. Now I caught the

(41:17):
NXT homecoming show from Full Sale the other night. That
was a nice little shot of nostalgia, right down to
that roar of the crowd intro, and that brought back
some memories, you know. In twenty fourteen, I started doing
weekly NXT reviews from Full Sale once it hit the network,
and I know I said it then. It was the
closest thing to a throwback to the days of the

(41:39):
syndicated shows for me on Saturday mornings, right less than
an hour with some squash matches to build new faces,
to get a main event each week, some promos in between,
like very straightforward stuff, but especially with the women, it
turned out to be better than a lot of what
we're getting on the main roster. And that was before
the Black and Gold ere were really kicked in. Like

(42:00):
I'm talking about those early days at Full Sale. But
I enjoyed all the cameos. William Regal coming out to
show war Games, right, We've got that. We got Tyler
Breeze getting his full entrance to his old music. Look,
look everyone, it's Tyler. Oh my god. Oh. I was
a big fan of that Gammick. Yeah, this guy, he

(42:20):
went through four or five different characters, I think, and
he was at he was at the very end. Man,
if this didn't work out, I think that would have
been it for him. And I think I've heard him
say that before. And it was Triple H who actually
had a lot to do with him coming up with
that character and the selfie stick and the entrance where
he would come out and they would shoot his boots
and then they would do that zoom in. It was

(42:41):
the Zulander character. But you know, he made it work
and then he went to the main roster and it
didn't work the way that it worked in NXT for
various reasons. But Tyler Brees was back and he challenged
Eathan Page unsuccessfully for the North American Championships. So he
put over the current talent. That's what they brought him
in for. Damian Priest was there. He was paling around

(43:02):
with Tavion Heights and he told Tavion that he spoke
with Ava and he got him a North American title
match and No Mercy just coming up on the twenty seventh,
and you know, people talk about Oba Femei and rightfully
so he could be the next big thing. They talk
about soul Ruka and all the potential that she has
to be such a big star on the main roster,
and how athletic she is. Not enough people talking about

(43:24):
Tavion Heights. From what I have seen of him, right,
this dude could be every bit as big. He has
that potential. So they had DIY against Carmelo Hayes and
Trick Williams, which was a win for Mello with the
unintended assist from the Miz who ran out and gave
Johnny Gargano a skull crushing finale on the floor. Tomaso Champa.

(43:46):
For that match, he came out to his old no
One Will Survive music. I don't know what was up
with that face paint. You know, he used to go
around talking about Goldie right, like Gollum from Lord of
the Ring of Goldie. My Goldie Right. He looked more
like gold dust. Actually, he looked more like mister Iguana.
I thought maybe he underwent some sort of radical gimmick

(44:07):
change when he first walked out. Then Johnny Gargano comes
out to Rebel Hearts, and it just makes me shake
my head that they change these songs on the main
roster when we know that they could still use them.
They just choose not to bugs the shit out of me,
had Sammy Zain there for an interview. He was given
a pep talk backstage to Javon Evans. Maybe that could

(44:30):
be a US title open challenge match on SmackDown in
the next few weeks. Finn Balor came out. He was unannounced.
He came out to his old music. He gave the
Double Stop to Lexus King, and then they gave the
women the main event, with Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vequer and
Lyra Valkyria filling in for the not medically clear Tiffany Stratton,
all former NXT Women's champions defeating Fatal Influence to the

(44:55):
surprise of absolutely no one, and then they closed it
show with a very quick backstage face off with Oba
Femi and Trick Williams. Earlier in the show, they did
a Grayson Waller effects segment with Oba and Ricky Saints
who were wrestling in No Mercy when Trick came out

(45:16):
in the middle of the segment and Grayson suggested a
title for title match with Oba's NXT Championship on the
line and Tricks TNA title on the line, with the
winner then defending against Ricky Saints and no Mercy. So
at the end of the show they made it official.
That's a pretty big match to announce in the closing

(45:36):
moments of the show on one week's notice, right, title
for title here, and not just title for title, but
one title that doesn't even belong to the company. Now,
they were cutting into the show with tweets from angry
TNA talents, including Mike Santana, and it sure feels like
they are going to be doing a TNA invasion this Tuesday,

(45:57):
and we get no winner in that main event, right,
because remember what I said coming out of Slammiversary a
few months ago, I said, they're crazy if they don't
have Santana and Masha Slamovic beating the doors down at
the Performance Center to get revenge on these NXT folks, right,
because they took all their titles. J C. Jane won
the Women's championship or the Knockouts Championship, and then you

(46:19):
had Trick Williams retaining the TNA Championship. What a deflating
finish that was. How can these people not be so
beside themselves with anger that they show up and they invade,
You know, they come to their turf and they want revenge,
they want blood, and they didn't do it because they
were embarrassed. They embarrassed Hena on their own turf on

(46:41):
that show. So they need to show up in full
force with a sense of urgency. That's what I said
back in July. It's been two months. Better late than never.
I think we're finally going to get that angle this
week and all roads then build to bound for glory
few weeks. Speaking of TNA, multiple WWE and TNA sources

(47:05):
tell The Takedown on Sports Illustrated that Joe Hendry is
in the process of being largely phased out of TNA
programming and integrated more into WWETV. The internal expectation across
people in both companies is that he will be WWE
bound on a full time basis by the beginning of
twenty twenty six. While some on social media have speculated

(47:27):
that Henri is already under WWE contract, TNA president Carlos
Silva tell's The Takedown that Henri is still currently under
a TNA deal and that NXT and TNA coordinate their
talent usage together as part of their partnership. It is
worth noting that of Henri's last eight matches, including dark
and house show matches. Only one has been under the

(47:49):
TNA umbrella, a September fourth match against Travis Williams. He
recently phased the MIZ on main roster house shows during
their tour of the United Kingdom. That is not to
say that TNA will not use Henry on TV in
the future, but the Takedown was told the fans should
expect to see him more prominently on NXT. That is
probably the least surprising news of the entire year. It

(48:11):
has been clear for a while that Joe Hendry was
NXT bound as soon as his TNA deal was up,
and I feel the same way about Mike Santana. You know,
he was on that homecoming show too. Bobby Rude even
said something to the effect of, now that you're in NXT,
you should be focusing on the NXT Championship, right, made
it sound like he's already officially in. By the way,

(48:35):
they did my man, Bobby Rude very dirty on Tuesday
when he did you see this, it's just so embarrassing.
So they shot these backstage segments and they cut the
crowd noise out. There was no crowd audio, which is fine.
I don't really have an issue with that, except in

(48:55):
situations like this. But there was a backstage segment Bobby
Rude walks in. He was Charlie Dempsey and Ren Sinclair.
They were having a conversation. He walks in, and the
problem is he stops and he does that look around
like you would expect, like if you heard a big
pot from the crowd in the arena and they kind

(49:17):
of look around to kind of acknowledge it. Right, he
does that, but it's dead silent. We can't hear a
fucking thing. He could have gotten a huge reaction in
the building at full sale for all we know, but
they cut the audio so it was totally silent. But
he's looking around like he hears voices in his fucking head.
He's pausing for the crowd reaction, but there is no

(49:38):
crowd reaction. He looked like a fucking idiot, just looking
around waiting for a reaction that never came. I had
secondhand embarrassment for this man, so I just had to
mention that. But Joe Hendry, he feels like more of
an NXT star than a TNA star right now. You know,
they've had him doing these cheesy cameos where someone says

(49:59):
his name like Beetlejuice, only with him, you don't need
to say his name three times, you just need to
say it once and he instantly appears. He came out
of a fucking refrigerator. A few weeks ago. He burst
through a wall like the kool Aid Man. So, I mean,
this news is not surprising, and you know what, good
for him, this is what he's worked for. He got

(50:19):
himself over organically. He's living the dream. He's already made history,
first TNA World Champion, men's champion to enter the Royal
Rumble and the first wrestler under a contract to another
company to have a match of WrestleMania. And on top
of all that, he's good people. You know, he was
a pleasure to work with when we had him in

(50:40):
the House of Glory. In every story that I've ever
heard about him, and his interaction with the fans at
conventions and stuff is a positive one. So I wish
him all the success in the world in WWE. I
don't see him as a World Heavyweight Champion or a
WWE champion on Raw or SmackDown. I think his ceiling
is just below that. I think NXT champion Shore and

(51:03):
on the main roster United States Champion, Intercontinental Champion. Absolutely,
but I think he could be a solid hand for
them who goes in and out of the main events scene.
This week's episode is sponsored by Green Chef. Summer is

Paramount sky Dance make a bid to acquire all of
Warner Brothers Discovery. There was a CNBC story on Friday
reporting that such a bid could be seventy to eighty
percent cash, backed in part by Larry Ellison, the father
of paramount S Guidance CEO David Ellison, with the rest

(54:16):
being paid in stock. Warner Brothers Discovery is scheduled to
split into two companies next April, but any offer, should
one be made before then and accepted, would probably preempt
any possible split, one would assume. But wait, a new
challenger has entered the arena or not. It really is

(54:40):
just chatter right now. There's no hard reporting to actually
support this, but some people think that Netflix could potentially
be interested in making an offer for a Warner Brothers Discovery.
This comes from Dylan Buyer's of Puck News. After Paramount
CEO David Ellison's presumptive all cash bid for Warner Brothers
DIC Discovery, a well placed Hollywood source called to suggest

(55:04):
that Netflix was also considering a bid for David Zaslov's assets.
He acknowledges that this scenario was once implausible, but that
Ellison's seemingly limitless cash and ambition have accelerated Hollywood's consolidation process,
and his decision to bid for all of WBD now
in an attempt to preempt potential rivals, is forcing nearly

(55:26):
everyone to dust off their models. The report further states
that unlike Paramount Skydance, which would be acquiring all of
the branches cable networks and more from the Warner Brothers
Discovery or the Warner Brothers and Discovery sides, Netflix may
be more interested in just the studio and streaming part
of the business. It's uncertain just how aggressive the streaming

(55:46):
company could be in trying to acquire all of that,
especially with Ellison looming with seemingly no worries about the
cost for the whole kit and kaboodle, and his billionaire
father worth three hundred and sixty five billion dollars as
of this writing behind him, With the expected astronomical price
of WBD, the company's debts, and talks of potentially splitting

(56:07):
off the cable networks, such a deal would take some
time to come into place, leaving the door open for
Netflix or another suitor to sway. David Zaslov again, it
sounds more like those sources are speculating about Netflix possibly
being interested in getting in the game. But you know,
the Ellison family has more money to play with than
Netflix does, and if they want it bad enough, it's

(56:29):
just hard to imagine them not getting it because money
talks at the end of the day. But it sounds
like even if Netflix were to make a bid, it
would not necessarily be for the cable assets, so that
would include TNT and TBS. I don't know why Netflix
would even want to get into the linear TV business,
you know, when streaming is their bread and butter. That
just doesn't make any sense to me. So it's hard

(56:50):
to say what effect this would potentially have on AW.
It may have no effect at all if that's the case.
But all of this instability not be making Tony Khan
feel very good, right It's that fear of the unknown,
you know. Either way, it looks like Warner is headed
for an acquisition of some kind, and until we know
with who and how much of the company they're interested

(57:13):
in acquiring, you know, if not the entire thing, there's
not much else to say about it. You know, it's
a big story to watch, though I don't see it
having any immediate impact on AAW long term though, I mean,
you know, when it comes time for a renewal, it's
all gonna come down to how AAW is performing two
years from now. You know, if they're doing well, they're

(57:34):
probably safe, and if they're not, then they won't be
You know, one thing I will say is that whoever
ends up acquiring them, I don't see this as a
good thing. It is stifling competition. It is making giant
companies even bigger, giving them an unfair advantage in the marketplace.
You know, they have antitrust laws for a reason, but

(57:56):
there is a lot of crony capitalism. So if you've
got friends in places right, those laws may not mean much.
Those laws that might apply to you might not apply
to other people. You know. Consolidation like this when it
comes to news networks especially, is very, very bad, and
it just feels like we are seeing a lot of
it these days now. I don't care which way you lean.

(58:18):
If you have someone who's outspoken on one side of
the aisle or another, or donates money to one side
or the other, and that person buys up scores of
television networks and affiliates, you know, you get to set
the narrative for how they operate, and that should scare
the shit out of every single person listening to this.
That's the bigger issue here, more so than how this

(58:40):
affects a pro wrestling company or which movie studio was
being acquired. That's the real story here. On the AW
media call for All Out on Thursday, Tony Kan was
asked if he would be interested in running a big
event in twenty twenty seven while WWE was in Saudi
Arabia for WrestleMania, where independent promotions could piggyback off of

(59:03):
it much the same way they do with Mania. And
I mean, it's not like AW hasn't done events like
that before with Conrad's convention. Conrad Thompson right, starcast has
been built around AW events in the past, although obviously
this would be on a much grander scale. And Tony
said that he was very interested in that, and he
said that he will be running a big show in

(59:23):
the spring of twenty twenty seven. Now, Revolution usually takes
place late winter, just before the spring, and he talked
about Revolution right after that, so it's unclear if he
was referring to Revolution or if he was referring to
some new event in the spring, but he did say spring.
Maybe they shift Revolution back by a month or two,

(59:45):
you know, to coincide with WrestleMania in the Middle East
that year. He was actually asked if Toronto would be
getting a stadium show similar to all In and he
said he wouldn't rule it out, and he specifically cited
Revolution as a show that could get the stadium treatment.
So that's multiple times he mentioned Revolution on that media call.
Could we be looking at Revolution in a stadium that

(01:00:07):
year with other events making that destination weekend? I like
that idea. I mean, I just talked about this idea
last week. I picked this very idea. It doesn't have
to be in a stadium, but this is the idea
that I talked about on the SoundOff last week. You know,
but if he feels like he could fill a stadium
with as many people as they had, let's say in
Arlington for all In this year, then it would be

(01:00:31):
worth it to try. They didn't fill up Globe Life feel,
but they had around thirty thousand people there, which is
a very healthy crowd. And I said it last week.
WrestleMania going to Saudi opens up a huge opportunity for
AEW to step up and play host to a major
wrestling show that weekend. For fans here in the United States,
you know, who have no interest in traveling to Saudi

(01:00:53):
Arabia for WrestleMania, or maybe they can't afford it. Here's
a chance to speak to those fans and say, hey, hey,
if you're not looking to break the bank by flying
halfway across the world and paying through the nose, we've
got a show for you. It's going to be a
celebration of pro wrestling that weekend, and everybody is invited. Now.

(01:01:14):
Post Wrestling had a story this week about independent events
being very uncertain about hosting shows in Saudi Arabia. The
reality is that most aren't going to be able to
afford it even if they wanted to do it, between
flights and hotels and work visas, you know, whatever else
would be involved. But they spoke. These people spoke with
High Spots owner, these people Post Wrestling spoke with High

(01:01:36):
Spots owner Michael Bokikio, who has been operating Wrestl Kan
since twenty thirteen. Wrestl Kan was basically the spiritual successor
to Wrestle Reunion, which ran its last shows in twenty twelve.
I know this because I was at the last one,
or one of the last ones that they did. That
was in Miami. That was the first year I ever
attended WrestleMania, and Wrestle Kan started the following year. I

(01:02:00):
met Bobby Heenan at that convention. That's why it stands
out to me. But yeah, Wrestle kan started the following year.
I did interviews at Wrestle Khan for Fight TV back
in twenty seventeen. It's basically the same thing. It's just
again it's hosted by different people and it's gotten bigger
over the years. They have more, more you know, wrestlers there.

(01:02:21):
But Bolkikio says that it's still premature to say for sure,
but running Saudi Arabia is highly unlikely. He said doing
the convention overseas would meet higher costs for staff and talent.
Often seek higher fees for international appearances, and it's more
likely that they pick a city in the US and
they do something on their own. I think it would

(01:02:42):
be wise for Tony Khan to coordinate, and maybe coordinate
isn't the right word. I mean, it's not like they
get a piece of the action, but you know, coordinate
with some of these folks at least as far as
keeping an open dialogue about what their plans are, you know,
far enough in advance so that if they do play
and something that weekend, these promoters know that, you know,

(01:03:04):
they should do the same. The more events that there
are that weekend in whatever CITYAW would be hosting their
show in, the more wrestling fans there are in town
to attend their show, So it's a mutually beneficial thing,
you know. Brett Lauderdale usually oversees the Collective during WrestleMania week,
which hosts events like blood Sport and Joey Janella's Spring Break.

(01:03:26):
He told Post Wrestling that he's been approached by two
organizations that stage events in the Middle East who have
offered to host GCW, and he acknowledges that there would
be very likely restrictions on how their shows are presented
if they did hold them in Saudi Arabia. Yeah, I
would think so, I would say, so that shit ain't
gonna fly. You know. GCW has hosted Effie's Big Gay

(01:03:50):
Brunch over WrestleMania a week and he tweeted, e Fie did.
He tweeted that Effie will not be going to Saudi Arabia.
I think that's a wise move on his part, because
you just know that something ridiculous would happen on that
show and it would turn into an international incident. You know,
we had Vader held captive in Kuwait all those years ago,

(01:04:12):
we would end up with e Fie trapped in Saudi Arabia. Now.
Also on the media call, Tony was very upset with
the report about Wardlow being the original challenger for Hangman
Page at all out for the aw World title, saying
that it was not accurate. He said Kyle Fletcher was
always going to be challenging for the world title. He

(01:04:33):
was upset enough about that one specific point that I
do believe him. He was very irritated by whoever leaked that.
He said, whoever did it, they should get out of
the wrestling business. Whoever is leaking false information, he said,
should get out of the wrestling business. He did confirm
that Wardlow is injured. He did not talk about the
nature of the injury. I mean it's been reported that

(01:04:54):
it was a torn peck muscle. He said. He was
devastated by the injury. He feels terrible for Wardlow. He
said he's now planning for Wardlow's comeback to coincide with
the launch of the new American Gladiators series that Wardlow
recently filmed for. I think he filmed material for two seasons.
It's going to be streaming on Amazon Prime The miz

(01:05:14):
is hosting that show. They have not announced a premier
date yet for it, but if he's planning Wardlow's return
to coincide with the premiere, and if Wardlow has a
torn peck, right, that's a good five or six months
right there before he's back in the ring at least,
so we're probably looking at a spring return, late winter,
early spring. He was also asked about rising ticket prices

(01:05:38):
and whether AW could be a more affordable option for
fans who feel priced out. This is what he said.
Aw's ticket pricing is designed to be very family friendly,
and it's been that way since the very beginning. Everybody
who's been involved in AAW from the start will tell
you that we always wanted to maintain affordable ticket prices
for the fans, and particularly to bring families and young

(01:05:59):
fans to the show and make it accessible for fans
of all backgrounds in all ages, so they're a family
friendly company. You see as Wheeler Da tries to pry
the rusty nails out of John Moxley's flesh, or his
hangman sticks a hypodermic needle through Swerve's cheek, or some

(01:06:20):
of the shit that we saw yesterday on the pay
per view. It's a night the entire family can enjoy.
I love it. Ticket price as far as ticket prices go, yes,
it is more family friendly. Imagine a family of Ford
trying to go to Wrestle Palooza how much that would
have cost them as compared to trying to go to
all out So when it comes to ticket prices, yes,

(01:06:40):
I'm sure it is more family friendly. Content wise, that
can be disputed, but that's the same message I would
be putting out there too. That and the affordability aspect.
I'd be hammering that home as much as I could
if I were him. You know, WWE is actively turning
people off with that, not an up so that they

(01:07:01):
stopped buying tickets and they're still packing in these buildings,
or if they lose some fans because of that, they
gained some more affluent ones who kind of take their place,
so they're still sitting pretty right now. But they are
definitely you know, turning people off, you know, by some
of these pricing tactics, and they're pricing some of these
fans out from going to the shows. They might still
support the product, but they're just not going to be

(01:07:22):
going to as many shows or any of the shows.
And you heard Mark Shapiro last week, they want to
raise prices even higher. They're not done yet. This could
be an inflection point for AW if they play their
cards right. Of course, they need to be able to
retain those fans by putting on shows that they actually

(01:07:42):
want to see, which is a lot harder to do.
I mean, you could always get people to sample your
shows or to come back for a show. Keeping them though,
is the hard part. Now, Yesterday was a very busy
wrestling day. Yesterday was a day where AW all Out
scheduled for eight pm Eastern in Toronto, and it ended

(01:08:03):
up going on at three pm Eastern, unless you count
the pre show, but now I don't pay no attention
to that. So the show got bumped up by five
hours because WWE decided to schedule Wrestle Palouzda, and if
they are to be believed, it had very little, if
anything to do as a counter programming measure because of
another wrestling promotion that was running a show yesterday. Sure thing,

(01:08:27):
we know why it happened. They moved the show and
during the all out prescrum when the show is over,
Tony Kahn was asked about potentially making that a permanent move,
and the person noted that the earlier start time makes
it more convenient for fans in the UK, to which

(01:08:47):
Tony said, it's been tremendous for three straight pay per views.
I think the point that you're making is definitely something
I take into consideration, and we've had great results, great
buys from the UK, the TV ratings in the UK
through the roof, and I'm really glad you asked that
because that's absolutely one of the considerations that we have
thought about here, and whether it's Saturday or Sunday, it's

(01:09:08):
definitely giving me something to think about. That might be
the best thing to come out of this counterprogramming crap
if we start getting more afternoon shows from AW, especially
as long as their shows are, it is much more
palatable at three in the afternoon than it would be
if they were first going on at eight o'clock at night.

(01:09:30):
And I think, honestly, obviously for the UK fans, it
sounds like that's something they would prefer. I would think
most people would probably prefer that, unless you live, you know,
maybe in Australia or something you might not like that.
I'm sure there are some places in the world where
depending on what timezone you live, and you might hear
him say that and be like fuck no. But me personally,

(01:09:51):
I'm all in. I mean, no pun intended, I'm all
in on the earlier start times. If this becomes a
normal thing going forward, so that might be one of
the big positives for me coming out of his counterprogramming nonsense.
But I watched All Out, and then when Russell Polouza started,
I shifted over to Wrestle Paluza, and like I said,
I watched the main event this morning. That was the

(01:10:11):
only match I did not get to see last night.
I watched All Out. I liked all Out, and All
Out was definitely the stronger of the two shows yesterday.
Some people aren't gonna like that, tough shit. All Out
was better than Wressell Palooza. We got some great matches,
including a big title change. We had some returns, we
had a reunion. We had a debut that I wasn't expecting,

(01:10:35):
although I probably should have been, given the Daks dropped
her name in a promo on TV last week, and
they're without some big names right now right No Kenny Omega,
no Will Osprey, no Swerve Strickland, but they have no
shortage of talent on that roster to step up and
fill those voids. And one thing that struck me watching
this show is how much the tag team division has

(01:10:57):
been revived, which I'm going to talk more about later.
It felt like it was on life support for a
while there compared to how it used to be. Like
that used to be their calling card in the early
days of AW and they got away from that. But
they have really come around on that front, and I
think we could have another tag team renaissance in this
company if Tony can put all the pieces together in

(01:11:19):
the right place now. I ordered this show through HBO
Max okay, because this was the first AAW pay per
view that was available for purchase live on HBO Max.
For all to talk about Wressell Palooza being the start
of the ESPN era for WWE, you can get the
show in the ESPN app and some of the confusion
that was attached to that, this was also the beginning

(01:11:41):
of a new era. I guess in that regard for
AAW in that you can now order the shows on
Max and if you do, then you would get them
at a reduced price. Instead of fifty bucks, which a
lot of people pay for on these other platforms like
Amazon Prime or YouTube, you can get it for ten
dollars cheaper if you get it through HBO Max. So off,

(01:12:03):
I went into my HBO Max app on my iPad
because I actually watch a Dynamite on Max every week.
I don't watch it through the YouTube TV. I mean,
I do have TNT and TBS, but I have found
that for me, the viewing experience is easier and I
actually kind of feel like the picture looks better oddly enough,

(01:12:24):
watching it through the HBO Max app, which I have
a subscription to anyway. So I'm like, okay, I'm going
to go into the HBO Max app and it should
be right there and we'll buy the show and great,
it'll be thirty nine ninety nine. And so I confirm
the purchase for thirty nine ninety nine, and then ten

(01:12:45):
seconds later, I get an email receipt from my payment method,
my payment vendor that I use through HBO Max, and
I get a receipt for fifty bucks. I'm like, fuck me,
no discount for Solo Monster. I guess now whether or
not that's because Apple fucked me. I mean, the email
did not come. The confirmation did not come from HBO Max.

(01:13:08):
I don't know that it's an HBO Max thing or
a Warner thing. Maybe it is, or if it's an
Apple thing. I tried to call Apple, and obviously I'm
also trying to watch these shows yesterday and the wait
time was just horrendous. So as I sit here right now,
I still don't have a good explanation for it. But
I did not get any discount yesterday, and yes I
had people making fun of me. Ah, you should have
used that VPN of yours, and you know it's only

(01:13:30):
twenty bucks on Triller. I'll know better for next time now.
They opened with a video package for Adam Copeland and
Christian Cage against FTR, which is the match that was
kicking off the show. They show footage from earlier in
the day of Copeland and Christian walking backstage looking at
pictures of various Toronto Maple League players on the wall,

(01:13:52):
and they run into Wendell Clark. After seeing a picture
of Wendell Clark on the wall, they run into Wendell
Clark and Copeland marks out and Christian didn't even acknowledge him.
Didn't sell it at all. So then after you know,
exchanging some words. I love how Wendall Clark apparently is
just randomly standing in a hallway up against an equipment case.

(01:14:14):
This is like a video game cutscene where you know
you're in the backstage area and there's just various people
standing there doing absolutely nothing. That was Wendell Clark here
in this segment. Apparently in his retirement he has nothing
better to do. So after this, they run into Bubbles
of the Trailer Park Boys, who broke out his Green
Bastard Pro Wrestling character, Christian Cracks some jokes about his

(01:14:38):
mother and he left. Copeland told the Green Bastard that
Christian's an asshole, but he's my asshole, and that led
into Adam Copeland and the asshole Christian Cage taking on FTR.
So the crowd was loud for the two Canadians in Canada,
as you would imagine, Dax Harwood was wrestling with a

(01:14:59):
badly broken knows from Wednesday night, but he was not
wearing any kind of you know, protective mask or anything
like that. Copeland paid homage to John Cena at one
point for delivering a you can't see me and then
an attitude adjustment for a near fall, and the crowd
went crazy for it. That was a cool moment. They

(01:15:19):
started chanting seen his name, probably the first time we've
heard John seena his name Chanta during an aw show.
But this follows, you know, Sena using edges spear in.
Was it the Cody match or was it the match
with Logan? I think it was the match with Logan,
So that's cool. You know, they're just paying homage to
each other. It's too bad we can't see them back

(01:15:41):
in the ring one more time. Obviously that's not possible.
So just a little, a little nod to one of
his all time rivals a show of respect, so FTR
went for a heart attack. At one point, Copeland and
Christian swept out both their legs into stereo Sharpshooters Wheeler
cash wheeler not wheeler. Yuda literally had to slap his

(01:16:03):
own partner to prevent him from tapping Stokely. Hathaway pushed
the ropes in to help give them the break Cajun Copeland,
they tried a hardy Boy's homage. Harwood, though escaped a
twist of fade attempt from Christian shoved him forward and
so Christian crotched Copeland on the top rope. We got

(01:16:24):
a power plex from FTR that connected, but Wheeler was
too slow to cover only got a near fall. Copeland
avoided a shatter machine, which allowed Copeland then to hit
a kill switch and Christian hit spear at the same time.
Stokely pulled the referee out of the ring of two.
Everyone's booing and suddenly we hear music that we've never

(01:16:46):
heard before, and outwalked Beth Phoenix or Beth Copeland, right,
no longer Beth Phoenix. She sprints down the ramps. She
flattens Stokely with a spear, and just what we need
more spears. I just talked about this the other week.
Everybody does the spear now, I mean, I guess you

(01:17:07):
know her husband does it, so whatever, but like, do
we really need more spears? So she's spears Stokely and
then picks him up and carries him over her head
to the back. So now he's gone cash. Wheeler tried
to blindside Copeland with the ring bell but got low
bridge to the floor as Harwood now is begging off

(01:17:28):
and he's pleading with Copeland. He's apologizing to him. He's
on his knees, so wanting a spike pile driver, Wheeler
cut off Christian by dragging him to the floor with
a power bomb onto the announced desk, which did not
break Paul Turner, the referee. He went to go check
on him. That allowed Wheeler to blast Copeland with a
ring bell, and FTR followed that up with a spike

(01:17:50):
pile driver, only for two. Copeland again fought off a
shatter machine. This time he laid out both FTR members
with impaler ddts. Copeland charted for a spear, but he
ran right into a shatter machine and he kicked out
it too. They hit a second one. They wanted a
third one. Wheeler got leveled by a right hand though

(01:18:12):
from Christian from the floor kind of reached up and
socked him in the face and that caused him to
stumble backwards into a spear by Copeland, and Copeland collapsed
on top of him. Christian, meanwhile was holding Dax Harwood's leg.
He's trying to crawl in to save his partner, but
Christian's got a hold of him. He can't go anywhere,

(01:18:32):
and Copeland gets the pin. Fifty year old Adam Copeland
ate a ring bell shot a spike pile driver and
a shatter machine, and he kicked out of all of them,
and then he won the match with a single spear.
And I thought it was ridiculous when he beat Malachi

(01:18:53):
Black with a broken leg no less, but this takes
the cake. After the match, Beth came back to the
ring and as Copeland tried to hug Christian, Christian wasn't
really you know, he was allowing him to hug him,
but he wasn't like reciprocating. So as this was happening,
they were interrupted by Mother Wayne pushing Nick Wayne onto

(01:19:14):
the stage. He was in a wheelchair. First time we've
seen Nick Wayne in many weeks since he broke his foot.
FTR then blindsided Cope and Christian. As Kip Sabian appeared,
he handcuffed Copeland to the ropes. I think it was
the bottom rope I forgot, but he handcuffed him to
the ropes and Beth is frantically trying to get her
husband free. Meanwhile, FTR lays out Christian with a spike

(01:19:35):
pile driver and now they're stalking Beth and Beth just
she kind of sees the situation. She knows she's fucked.
She turns to her husband, she gives him a kiss,
and then she starts throwing bombs at FTR and she
got a few shots in, but FTR ended up laying
her out as well with a spike pile driver right

(01:19:56):
in front of her husband, and all Copeland could do
is just watch right because he's cuffed to the ropes,
he can't free himself. This was basically the extreme rules
angle they did with them in the Judgment day a
few years ago. But it was effective, right. It was
effective then, and I think it was effective now. It
adds more heat to a few that they obviously want
to continue the match itself. I thought it was a

(01:20:19):
good match. I thought it was a good opener. It
just got very ridiculous there at the end with Copeland
kicking out from so many big moves, like he was
really tapping into Supersena from many years ago, and then
he wins with one spear. But between FTR laying out
Beth and the matriarchy coming out to interfere there at

(01:20:39):
the end, Copeland and Christian their respective problems have overlapped
now and so they're going to need to continue working
together to fight them off. So they may hold off
longer than I thought to put the tag team titles
on them, which again it's just inevitable to me. But
we're getting at least one more match with copin Christian
and FTR, and we should finally get that singles match

(01:21:01):
with Christian and Nick Wayne that we never got once
Nick is medically cleared. I don't know how much longer
he's gonna be in that wheelchair, or maybe he doesn't
need to be in a wheelchair. Maybe they're gonna milk
it for a little bit, but we should get a
singles match between him and Christian at some point now.
Eddie Kingston has not wrestled since god what was in
May April or May of last year. That was against

(01:21:24):
Gabe Kid in a New Japan ring, and boy did
he fuck up his leg. He tore everything in his leg.
He broke his leg. It was a horrendous injury. He
couldn't even have surgery on his leg until July of
last year when the swelling went down. So he's been
out for a very long time. And he was advertised
to have his return match here on this show, even

(01:21:45):
though we have not seen him in sixteen months. He
was advertised to return on this show against Big Bill.
Let me get the nice part out of the way first.
After sixteen months. It was good to see Eddie Kingston
back on TV. He came out with his Claudio Sucks
Eggs T shirts. He got a nice welcome back from
the fans and it was all downhill after that. This

(01:22:09):
was a very sloppy match. Not a lot of heat,
a lot of sloppy spots. There was a boss man
slam that Big Bill went for at one point, and
he hit it, but man was at a struggle and
it was bad enough that he did it over again.
Bill wanted a choke slam. Kingston countered into a desperation DDT.

(01:22:29):
Eddie signaled for the spinning backfist the the organ he
connected with it. Bill kicked out at one which surprised Kingston,
who ran into a big boot. Bill missed a corner
splash and in so doing he smashed his face into
the top part of the ring post right he posted himself.
Eddie then rolled him up. Bill kicked out and Eddie

(01:22:51):
then swung for the fences with another backfist and he
completely whiffed. He would fit perfectly on the New York
Mets so he swung and he made to the point
where even the announcers acknowledged that he missed it right.
They didn't like, oh, he just barely grazed, like, no,
he missed it. Unfortunately it was the finish and they
didn't think to redo it like earlier in the match,

(01:23:14):
Bill redid the boss Man slam right or the black
Hole slam, and that wasn't even the finish. If you
were going to redo anything, it should have been this,
but they didn't do it. So Eddie covered him and
he pinned him. He caught Bill with a backfist earlier
and Bill kicked out at won. Then he missed him
with the backfist and that was enough for the pin.

(01:23:35):
Completely ruined the finish. They were parts of the match
where the crowd was actually dead silent. The sloppiness and
the terrible finish didn't help. There was no story to
this to begin with. It was just the way to
get Eddie on the show and to give him a
win in his comeback. But this was a fail, I'm
sorry to say. Now after the match, Brian Keith attacked Kingston.

(01:23:58):
Bill and Keith they can continued to beat down Eddie
as the lights went out and we see the H
symbol appear in the rafters for Hook, which got no
reaction from the crowd in Toronto, and he came out
to his new krooner music, he Lowbridge Bill. He sang
red rum in on Brian Keith, after which Kingston blasted

(01:24:20):
Keith with the backfist. At least thankfully this one connected,
and then Kingston and Hook they hugged and they left together.
Now remember Hook did say that he might have to
join a new crew after leaving the Ops, so it
looks like he found a new partner in Eddie Kingston,
so we'll see where that goes. I think there was
potential to get Eddie into the death Rider's stuff. They're

(01:24:41):
obviously going a different way. The death Riders seem to
be getting stronger, not weaker, But for the time being,
it looks like Eddie is going to be involved in
some way with the Hook. I don't know if they're
going to be a tag team. I don't know if
there's going to be a new crew that forms, as
if we don't have enough of those in this company,
but that's what Eddie will be occupied with. We had
MJF against Mark Briscoe in a tables and tax match. Now,

(01:25:08):
MJF had a very busy weekend because he was in Mexico,
I think it was Arena Mexico on Friday night at
the CMLL ninety second anniversary show. Yes, the oldest wrestling
promotion in the world and the hottest wrestling promotion in
the world. Like when I read these reports about the
tickets they're selling and the business they're doing down there

(01:25:28):
in Mexico, it is ridiculous. That is a promotion that
is on fire right now. And MJF has been the
CMLL Light Heavyweight champion hip for a few months, so
he was scheduled to defend that title against Mystico on
Friday night, which he did and he lost. Then not
only did he lose, but he tapped out, which goes
to show you the strength of the partnership between CMLL

(01:25:50):
and AW that that would even ever be allowed to happen.
But that's how it should be, you know. I Mean,
these two guys had a feud that spend months across
multiple promotions and multiple times MJF beat down Mystico and
he ripped his mask off and he embarrassed him and
he insulted him and all. So you had to build
to a decisive win for Mystico. It doesn't get any

(01:26:12):
more decisive than him tapping out. And this is a
few by the way, that not only has spanned months,
but it has spanned months across multiple promotions, not just
CMLL and AW but MLW. MJF even showed up to
attack him at a Ring of Honor taping, the only
time you'll ever see MJF show up and Ring of Honor.

(01:26:33):
So this needed to be decisive and it doesn't get
any more so than that. Now, after wrestling in Mexico
one in the morning, MJF made it to Canada to
wrestle Third from the Bottom here on this show. And
he was also wearing all white, which was very much
done on purpose. I mean he was, you know, white shirt,
white pants, so you knew that he wasn't going to

(01:26:56):
be white for much longer. Once the blood started flowing,
my god, it wasn't even his blood, but with all
the blood on his pants, he looked like he was
on his period. Now you knew that this was going
to be a bloody, violent match coming into I mean,
the fucking stipulation was tables and tas Okay, so you
can't plead ignorance and say, man, I wasn't expecting this, Like, yes,

(01:27:20):
you knew what to expect coming into it. Somehow it
was even more ridiculous than I thought it would be.
They had buckets of thumbtacks and all four corners of
the ring. Tables were set up at ringside. Bryce Remsburg
had goggles on and oven mits on his hands to
protect himself. I would be in a whole ass b
suit if you asked me to referee a match like this.

(01:27:43):
MJF immediately took a powder outside. Briscoe wasted no time
in taking every bucket and pouring out all of the
tax all over the ring. The ring was littered in
thumb tacks. There were so many tacks that both guys
were sliding around like they were ice skating, and he
bodied slammed Briscoe onto the tax. And then he also

(01:28:04):
drove him like he grabbed his head and was driving
him down headfirst into the tax. So MJF draws first blood.
He played Rambo here in this match. Briscoe's shirt off.
He delivered an Alabama slam onto the tax. Briscoe, though,
kicked out and then After dragging Briscoe through the tax,
MJF put Tax in his mouth and he fired off

(01:28:26):
a right hand shot. Then he delivered multiple backdrops onto
the tax, just one after the other after the other.
MJF called for another one. Briscoe flipped onto his feet, though,
and he got one on MJF that there was some
table spots outside where Briscoe just killed him. Back in
the ring, Briscoe delivered a power bomb onto the tax

(01:28:47):
before pulling out a tack covered chair from under the ring.
It was tables and tax, but now we have chairs
in this match. It Oh, why did you just call
it a thumb tax match? You had thumbtacks on the floor, right,
You had a thumbtack chair, You had tables. You could

(01:29:08):
have had a thumbtack ladder, you could have had What
else could you have had? You could have had a
thumbtack cookie sheet. We've seen the young bucks have sneakers
with thumbtacks in them. So Briscoe wanted a chair shot
to the head with it. MJF got a low blow
and a chair shot to the back before hitting a
tombstone onto the tacks. Brisco still kicked out MJF at

(01:29:29):
this point is just picking the tax out of his hands,
and he pulls a table into the ring and he
pours bags of tax onto them, and he wants a
power bomb, and brisco punched his way free, but he
got crouched in the corner and MJF wanted his Avalanche
tombstone that he does, but Briscoe got out of that.
He wanted an Avalanche Jade thriller, but MJF bit his
way free. Briscoe returned the favor and then he dove

(01:29:52):
off the top with a froggy bow as the table
exploded and Tax are just raining down through the air,
So then we got a proper froggy bow. Briscoe planted
MJF with a Jay driller onto the Tax and he
got the win. This match was basically, if I had
to describe it, it was a twenty minute Saw movie. Now.

(01:30:15):
I liked some of the Saw movies, but if I
wanted to watch a Saw movie, then I would watch
a Saw movie. Both guys have my respect for the
effort and the punishment they took, but this just wasn't
my thing. MJF has proven that he can hang in
whatever type of match. You put him in, whether it's hardcore,
iron man, dog collar, you know, whatever it may be.

(01:30:39):
They made the most of the stipulation. I'm just not
a fan of it. I was a little surprised that
Briscoe went over here. But MJF now appears to be
in this losing streak phase, right, That's what it feels like.
He lost a hangman. He lost his CMLL title to Mystico.
He just lost to Mark Briscoe. But he still has
that guaranteed contract that he can cash in. So him

(01:31:02):
losing here it doesn't matter because I think it's part
of a larger story that they're doing with him. And also,
all he needs to do is show up on TV
on Wednesday and just say that the only reason he
lost is because he had to stoop to Mark Briscoe's
level and play by his silly deathmatch rules and that's
it and just move on from here. So MJF is

(01:31:24):
going to be fine. Mark Briscoe gets a rare big win,
especially on a pay per view. I don't know that
it's going to lead to anything major for him. I
don't know where he goes from here in terms of
like a championship that he would challenge for But for him,
you could argue it was a much needed win to
give him a nice shot of credibility at that level.
But for MJF, you know, it's just another It's another

(01:31:48):
match for him and he'll move on and when the
time is right, he'll cash in that contract and he'll
win back the World Championship. Lexi Naiir was outside in
the parking lot and approached Anthony Bowen's Max Caster and
Jerry Lynn, all of whom were arguing. Jerry Lynn has
been trying to reunite the two of them. This has
been a collision storyline, and Jerry said that he jumped

(01:32:10):
through a lot of hoops to get to a tag
team match next week against Swirl. And I hear this
and I'm like, what the fuck is Swirl? I thought
I misheard him at first, And he said Swerve, I
got you a tag team match against Swerve And I said, boy,
he recovered awfully quick from that knee surgery and why
are they bringing him back at a handicap match? But yeah,

(01:32:33):
I don't know what the fuck a Swirl is, but
they need to go back to the drawing board on
that name. I know that. So both men refuse the
team up, and Jerry said that if they don't show up,
they'll be suspended, and Castor and Bowens they start bickering
like an old married couple. Caster Gizema shove and when
Bowens turns around to go take a shot at him,

(01:32:55):
Castor was already gone. So they're admitting that trying to
push these two is singles and breaking them up was
a failure. So they're putting them back together, and honestly
it's the right move. We had Ricochet and the Gates
of Agony, who were now going by the name the Demand.
Hopefully one day there will actually be a demand for

(01:33:17):
this crew. They took on the Hurt syndicate. The MVP
wanted Rikoshet at the start. He got all of three
seconds before Rikoshet tagged in. Bishop Khan the heels isolated MVP.
They targeted his left knee. Lashly tagged in. He had
Ricochet beat total Leona broke up the pin. Shelton Benjamin

(01:33:37):
tagged in. He tossed Ricochet into the air. He just
let him fall to the mat. Benjamin hit a German
suplex that sent Ricochet into his own corner. Bishop tagged
in Benjamin landed to German supplexes on Ricochet and the
Good Bishop and then executed a double German on both
men at the same time. And then a little while

(01:33:58):
later Total Leona ran in. He got the better of
Benjamin until he turned into a spear from Bobby Lashley,
who followed up with a spear on his partner. Lashly
had Bishop khn pinned, Ricochet nailed a springboard four fifty
splash to break up the pin and Lashly and Total Leona.
They ended up fighting her ringside. Lashly charged in for
a spear. Leona held up a chair and then hoisted

(01:34:22):
Lashlee up on his shoulders. Benjamin, though intervened and so
Bishop took out Benjamin and Ricochet did a flip dive
over the ring post onto Lashley and Benjamin, so Rikoshet
and Bishop Khan. They whipped Total Leona into Lashley and
Benjamin and all three men go tumbling over the barricade. Meanwhile,
in the ring, Ricochet dove off the top at MVP,

(01:34:43):
who caught him and suplexed him. MVP set up for
his playmaker. Bishop though hit him with a chop block,
and Ricochet hit MVP with the spirit gun for the Wind.
This was a much needed victory for Rikoschet and his crew,
and it went exactly the way that I said it would,
with MVP being the one to do the honors here

(01:35:03):
to save Lashley and Benjamin from taking the loss. That's
why MVP was in the match, and the match was solid.
I mean, it was solid stuff. It felt more like
a TV match than one that needed to be on
this pay per view. In fact, this match did not
need to be on this pay per view. It makes
sense for the Demand I guess that's their name now,
the Demand, to challenge the Ops. Man these some of

(01:35:26):
these names. Man, what's going on here with these names?
The Ops, the Demand Swirl? Who's coming up with these names?
But it would make sense for Ricochet and the Gates
of Agony to challenge the Ops for the trios titles,

(01:35:50):
which they said they would be going after the Scrum
after the show. So they've already kind of planted that
flag in the ground that they're coming after the trios titles.
As far as the Hurt Syndicate go, there's been chatter
about the matting a new member soon. Maybe this is
the impetus for that, you know, where MVP realizes maybe
he feels responsible for what happened, and you know, he
realizes that he let his guys down. They need that

(01:36:12):
third person. It just can't be him, especially if we
end up getting a rematch that could be where the
new member debuts. I just take your pick as far
as who you think would would be the best fit
for this group. I mean, they have options. You know,
you can pluck out any number of young talents on
the roster who could get the rub you know, from
rubbing shoulders with Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. I just

(01:36:35):
I don't know that I necessarily am married to one
specific person that I feel like it has to be.
But there could be a new member coming soon if
these rumors are true. We had Mercedes Monette against ReHO
for the TVs Championship. If there was one problem coming
into this match, it's that not a single person honestly

(01:36:58):
believe that Riho had a chance of winning the TBS title.
That may have been one of the reasons why the
crowd was so dead for this match. That and Riho
just coming back and being thrown into a title match
because these people could barely be bothered to care for
most of this match. They work well enough together. Money
locked in a pendulum swing submission at one point, then

(01:37:18):
a Romero special, which Rijo was able to escape. Monet
went to the eyes. Both women were up and ReHO
hit La Mistica before locking in a statement maker of
her own. Both women fought up the ropes. Monette connected
with a superplex, hung on into the three amigos before
heading back up top for a frog splash, but ReHO

(01:37:40):
got the knees up. Money missed a charging double knee
in the corner. She got trapped that allowed Riho to
hit a double stump for two. Riho went for a
crucifix bomb, but Money grabbed the referee, which gave her
a chance to rake the eyes. She hit a lung
blower and then a Monet Maker for the very anti
climactic win. I thought the wrestling here was solid, but

(01:38:02):
there just wasn't any excitement I really in any aspect
of this was a well worked match. That's the best
thing I can really say about it. I mean, they're
just keeping that title warm for the celebration next month
when she becomes the longest reigning TBS champion of all time.
Were less than a month away from that, we had Kazuschka, Okada, Kenoski,

(01:38:23):
Takeshta and Mascaraderrada in a three way for the AEW
Unified Championship. Coming into this, I was critical of why
this needed to be a three way match. I figure
the reason they did it was to protect Takeshta from
taking the loss directly, but it just felt so unnecessary

(01:38:44):
to me. I'm happy to say that I'm glad they
turned it into a three way. They won me over here.
I'm glad they turned it into a three way because
this match was everything here on this show. Now. Don
Kalish joined on commentary. He said he likes his family's
odds of retaining the title here. I'll bet. I'll bet.
Dorado was fending for himself against the other two in

(01:39:06):
the early going, but then we got Okada and Takeshta
going at it. As quiet as the crowd was for
that last match, and even part of this one they
were quiet for. But Dorata was like a one man
show out there. He was lighting this crowd up with
every big dive. At one point, Dorada charged into a
double big boot and that left Takeshta and Okada staring

(01:39:30):
at each other. We got this great crowd shot too,
where they're standing right next to each other, and then
they kind of slowly turned to look at each other
and we could hear the crowd rises. Takesha put everything
behind a forearm shot. Both men traded tombstone attempts until
Takesha got a bastard driver into the German, but Okada

(01:39:50):
no sold it. He popped up into a dropkick and
a tombstone, and with both men down, Dorata tried to
moon salt. Okada moved, so Dorata hit a running shooting
star on Takeshta. We got a shooting star attempt on Okada,
who got his knees up. Takesha was there to hit
a huge power bomb into the power drive knee. Takeshta
loaded up for one on Okada, who blocked it and

(01:40:12):
then hit a dropkick right on the button. All three
men were down and tons of chance from the crowd.
This is awesome, you know, fight forever. I mean they
were into this now. Okata tried a rain maker on Dorata,
who ducked and Takesha hit a wild double German. Okada
went to the apron. Dorada connected on a diving DDT
and just spiked him run on the apron quickly back

(01:40:34):
up top, Dorada got crotched by Takeshta, who hit a
super plex held on into the raging fire. When Okada
slid back in he wanted a rain maker. Takeshta the
landed a forearm shot, only to run into a drop kick,
sending Takeshta out to the floor, and Okada quickly grabbed
mascera Dorata. He hit a rain maker and he won

(01:40:55):
the mat. He barely survived, is what he did, but
he retained the unified title. This was easily the match
of the night up to this point. You could even
argue it was the match of the weekend. It's certainly
in the conversation, but it was easily the match of
the night up to this point and one of the
best matches all weekend for Dorada. This was his standout
performance so far in aaw He really he brought it.

(01:41:18):
You know, he knew what his role was, but he says,
you know what, I'm still going to go in there
and I'm going to throw everything I got at these people,
and I'm going to make sure that when this match
is over, they're talking about me because you knew. He
knew that he was eating the pin at the end
of this, but you know, damn it, he was going
to make sure that he made the most of the opportunity.

(01:41:40):
And what we got out of Okada and Takesha was
just enough to, you know, peak your interest to want
to see a proper singles match between them. And I
bring up the Continental Classic because that is the perfect
place to make that happen, because we know Ocatta is
going to be in it, and it may be predictable,
but this is one of the those situations were just

(01:42:01):
because it's predictable does not mean that you don't do it.
That tournament should come down to Okata and Takeshta and
Takeshta winning the unified title. But this was excellent stuff.
Then we had John Moxley against a Darby Allen in
a coffin match. Darby cut Moxley off in the crowd

(01:42:22):
as he was making his entrance. Of course, he did
a coffin drop off the ledge by one of the
entrance tunnels onto a standing Moxley. They fought through the
crowd and down to ringside. He was biting at Moxley's
ear and I don't know what he did, but Moxley
was bleeding profusely from the ear, so Moxley stood the

(01:42:43):
coffin upright, coffin that was on the floor outside. That
gave Darby time to fly in from the ring with
one of his suicide missile dives, and the coffin fell over,
with both men landing trapped inside like the lid shut
behind them. It was actually a cool visual. There was
another Darby dive out on the other side in front
of the announcers, where Moxley caught him flying in with

(01:43:05):
a cutter on the floor. Claudio Wheeler, Yuda and Daniel Garcia.
They made their way to ringside and they helped Moxley
put the coffin in the ring as Marina Shaffir is
loosening the bottom rope with a wrench, so Moxley sends
them to the back as quickly as they came. He
sent them all except Marina. He sent the rest of
them to the back as Darby crawled back into the ring,

(01:43:28):
allowing Moxley to slam the lid of the coffin shut
on Darby's hand. Moxley mounted Darby on top of the
coffin and he is screaming. He's right in his face
and he's screaming at him that you know he works
harder than everyone, and how he loves Darby, and then
he kissed him on the mouth, Like what kind of
snuff film am I watching here? Danielson on commentary said

(01:43:50):
that Moxley told him the same thing before turning on him.
As Darby tried to fight back, but he did a
coffin splash into a rear nape could choke. Alan had
a fork that was hidden in one of the turnbuckles,
like under the pads, and he started stabbing Moxley repeatedly
in his bald head with the fork, which opened him

(01:44:12):
up even more. Now there's more blood pouring out of
his head. He followed that with a coffin drop from
the top rope to the floor. Danielson said that he
promised to be objective, but fuck that, let's go Darby
and Darby then hit a coffin drop onto the coffin
before trapping Moxley's hands inside the coffin, he stomped on it.

(01:44:33):
Scorpion death drop connects. Darby grabs a pipe from under
the ring, and that little delay allowed Moxley to grab
the fork and try to stab Darby with it, who
gouged at the eye, got the fork and he mutilated
Moxley's ear with it. Remember what I said earlier about
the tables and tax stuff with MJF and Mark Brisco, Yeah,

(01:44:56):
the same thing applies here. I don't know who this
was for, but this was not for me. So Moxley
brought Darby on top of the coffin and he hit
a death rider and he plays Darby inside the coffin
and he tried slamming the lid shut, and Darby held
the pipe out to prevent the lid from fully closing.

(01:45:16):
Darby climbed out. He began choking Moxley with the pipe
as they spilled outside, where Darby smashed him in the
head with it. Brian Danielson, who gave Darby his word
on Wednesday that he would not get involved in the match,
grabbed a duffel bag from under the announced desk and
he just moved it over within view so that Darby
could use it. He told him to do it, and

(01:45:39):
Darby pulled out a plastic bag and Danielson told him
to give Moxley what he deserves. So I guess we
know what, he whispered to Darby. On Wednesday, Darby placed
the bag over Moxley's head, which filled with blood instantly
before giving him a Code red, and the bag went
flying off Moxley's head. So he put the bag back
over Moxley's head and he delivered the Brian Danielson esque stomps.

(01:46:03):
The crowd began chanting, this is murder. We saw a
lot of that on this show. He placed Moxley in
the coffin, but before he could shut the lid, Pack
returned and I will tell you I did not realize
initially who it was because he looks very different. He
is rocking a new short hair look, this new short haircut.

(01:46:26):
He actually was wearing a shirt that was honestly more
shocking than the new haircut. I just assumed that he
just always in his gear shirtless wherever he goes. That's
how he sleeps, that's how he wakes up in the morning,
that's how he looks at the gym. He power bombed
Darby from inside the ring onto the lid of the

(01:46:46):
outside casket, which I'm sure did not feel too good.
I mean, made a nice dent, made a nice thud
on his way down, he threw Darby back inside, he
placed him in a body bag, and then he placed
him inside the coffin in the ring where my actually
then kicked the door shut and the lid was actually
not secured perfectly, but it was on I guess enough
for the referee to call for the bell and he

(01:47:08):
gave the wind to John Moxley. And let me let
me just say one more thing here, because I have
said in the past that my favorite coffin match, casket
match of all time that I've ever seen was from
Luca Underground season one. It was Milmwaretes and Ray Phoenix,
and that was also a very bloody, very violent match.

(01:47:28):
But there are just there are some spots that they
do in these in some of these aw hardcore matches
that just go beyond Like having blood is one thing,
that's that's fine, but then they do these these things,
whether it's you know, with a fork to the ear
and twisting the ear or they're ripping this, or they're

(01:47:49):
doing it's like come on, man, like do we really
need to be doing this? So that's that's the difference.
Like I loved that Grave Consequences match, this was not
Grave Content Sequences I will say that after it was over, though,
all the Death Riders reappeared and they carried the coffin
out like a funeral procession. Moxley was screaming at the

(01:48:10):
fans that he didn't want this. It wasn't his fault.
Danielson was just speechless on commentary, as ex Caliber said,
between adding Daniel Garcia and getting packed back, the Death
Riders are more dangerous than ever. See that's the worst
part of all. They are now as strong as they

(01:48:31):
have ever been. They are not going anywhere. But this
was what you would have expected. Was lots of brutality
and lots of blood, Darby taking a lot of stupid bumps,
and it was a win for the Death Riders, which
is what I called in my predictions because it always
felt to me like this was building to something bigger.
This was not the end of the issue between Moxley
and Darby. And on that note, later in the show,

(01:48:54):
skipping ahead here, Marina Shaffir is screaming at the cameraman
backstage to film this right now. The coffin is set up,
and John Moxley said he hopes Darby Allen gets the
message this time. So Shafir and Pack and Claudio and Garcia.
They all take off in a truck, right. He sends
them away, and after doing so, Darby pops out of

(01:49:15):
the coffin and he blasts Moxley with a pipe. Alan
got Moxley in the body bag and he said not
to be surprised when he pulls him into the fire.
And with that he sprayed the body bag down with
some lighter fluid and he set it on fire. He
set it ablaze and Moxley is struggling inside the bag.

(01:49:37):
Let him cook. As the kids say, Darby setting Moxley
on fire wasn't even the craziest thing to happen on
this show. So Moxley was quickly extinguished backstage by some personnel.
Darby got dragged away screaming burn burn. So what are
we thinking? Maybe an inferno match for wrestl dream. There

(01:50:00):
is also the possibility that we may get a blood
and guts match. After all, he got Moxley and the
Death Riders on one side. On the other side, you
could have a team led by Darby, so I could
definitely see something like that happening. Brian Danielson on commentary
was disappointed that nobody came out to help Darby, so
that could be playing into something as well. The conglomeration.

(01:50:24):
We're backstage talking about everybody picking up wins tonight, including
on the pre show. Willow was there and Roderick Strong
and Kyle O'Reilly, all the conglomerates were all there. And
Mark Briscoe was there and he's caked in dried blood
from his win earlier, and he said it's time to
look forward to another man who's been a thorn in
his ass, and that's Don Kallus, and he challenged Don

(01:50:47):
Callus to find three of his men and asked Kyle O'Reilly,
who was on the phone, if he's ready to come back,
and Kyle said whatever, and the live crowd popped huge
because they knew exactly who he was referring to. So
we're getting the return of Orange Cassidy on Dynamite. This Wednesday,

(01:51:11):
we had the four Way to the AEW Women's World
Championship with Timeless Tony Storm defending against Jamie Hayter, Chris
Statlander and Tecla. Statlander has new theme music that is
not terrible, but I do wonder if it may only
be temporary after what we saw at the end of
this match. If she was possibly going to go heal soon, Wheeler,

(01:51:31):
you'd have showed up right at the beginning here to
try to give her some last minute advice, and he
got told to go get lost, so he left. Statlander
dodged three corner attacks before Tecla found herself in the
Tree of Woe, only to deliver three separate spider superplexes,
and then she hit her spider pose. Tecla she didn't

(01:51:52):
see Storm appear and yell I hate bugs, which made
me laugh, and then she stomped Tekla in the in
the Yambag region, as Taz would say, see I hate
bugs too. They're just the fucking worst. You gotta stomp
those things out. So Hayter dished out some exploders before
hitting a double soup plex on Statlander and Tony Storm.

(01:52:15):
We got a sky high from Tony on Tecla as
Statlander flew in with a rolling cutter. Hayter was up
though for a home run lariat into the reset. All
four women rose to their feet. Tecla got mowed down
with a triple big boot, Statlander was clotheslined to the floor.
Storm and Hater. They were about to have a showdown,

(01:52:35):
but Tecla chopp blocked Hater's leg and then trapping both
women's heads between her legs. Tecla tried a head scissors
in the ropes, but Statlander caught Tecla into Saturday Night
fever on the floor. Back inside, Storm delivered sweet cheek
music and Storm zero to Statlander, but Hater dove over
to break up the pin. Storm and Hater they traded

(01:52:56):
finished her attempts until Hayter hit a hate breaker and hat,
which Tecla then broke up. After that, Tecla got pulled
to the apron by Hater and Tecla hit a wild
spear to the floor. Inside the ring, Statlander quickly hooked
a seat belt pinning combination in on Tony's Storm, and
she got the flash pin to win the title. That

(01:53:20):
came out of nowhere, and the crowd was stunned. So
is Tony. Tony Storm sold it. She had this this
almost catatonic I don't know who's catatonic or psychotic look
or smile on her face. Statlander got Pyro for her celebration.
They you know, she's got the aw World championship hoisted
up and they're firing off the the pyro for her.

(01:53:43):
Tony retreats up the ramp, still looking almost catatonic. Harley
Cameron sprinted to the ring to celebrate with Statlander, who
you know, gave a nod to Tony Storm on the ramp.
Ex Caliber said that Tony put herself in this position
by asking for this four way man. So first things first,
really good match, These four work well together. I called

(01:54:07):
this one in my predictions. It was the big upset
of the night. Sure, absolutely, but it felt like we
were getting a title change here, and if Tony wasn't winning,
then nobody else in this match made sense. But Chris Statlander,
especially with the way that she's been courted by the
Death Riders of late. You know, then you see her
win the title with the seat belt pin, which, to

(01:54:29):
be fair, and she said this in the scrum after.
I mean, Wheeler da is not the only person to
use the seatbelt right, Orange Cassidy has used it before
as well. But the question now is, you know, does
she go heal and join the Death Riders. I fucking
hope not. I really really hope not. But it is
a question that has to be asked. They've certainly been
teasing that as a possibility. Death writers are only growing

(01:54:53):
and getting stronger. Now. You could look at this and go, man,
what a waste for Tony's storm to drop that after
all these months, to drop that title in a random
four way. But the story here is that this match
was her idea. This is what she wanted, you know.
Was she biting off more than she could chew? And
then stat Lander pinned Tony. So it wasn't one of

(01:55:16):
those deals where the champion lost without getting pinned, which
is fucking lame. No, the champion lost. She wanted the match,
she got the match, she ate the pin. Tony had
beaten almost everybody else in the division already, including the
unbeatable Mercedes. It doesn't bother me that she dropped the
title here. It felt like the right time for her

(01:55:37):
to lose the championship. Now, absolutely we could have come
up with better circumstances. It could have been a more
focused singles match. All of that is true, But I
cannot hate on Chris Statlander finally getting the nod. I'm
happy for stat Lander getting that big moment. I do
think or worry that this is setting her up more

(01:55:57):
as a transitional champion than anything else. To drop the
belt from Mercedes, right the first chance they get, they're
gonna put that fucking belt on Mercedes. And then Tony
eventually wins the belt back by beating Mercedes, which he's
already done. But I do think there's a very good
chance that's where this is headed. But between the shock finish,
I guess, depending on who you are, you may have

(01:56:18):
been shocked at the finish, and this being a very
good match, this ended up being one of the highlights
of the night. We had a four way ladder match
for the AW World Tag Team titles with Brody King
and Bendido defending against the Young Bucks, Jet Speed and
Josh Alexander and Hetchesero representing the don Kallis family. This
is one of those matches where I just watch and

(01:56:39):
I hope that nobody gets seriously injured. There's just so
much happening and they just escalate each spot, right, The
danger is escalated each one, especially when you have four
teams involved, and they had even more than that in
the TLC match at SummerSlam. It was the same thing there.
The Bucks and the Callus family. They forged an alliance.

(01:56:59):
At one point they set tables up in ladder bridges
all around Ringside, with Brody king. On one of those bridges,
Nick Jackson hit a swanton off the top, even though
the ladder did not budge. Hetchisaro and Alexander. They set
up jet speed on tables, but with their attention turned,
the Bucks tried very quickly to scale the ladder, which
caused their partnership to end very abruptly. Later on, the

(01:57:21):
Bucks were stacking some tables while Alexander and Mike Bailey,
the two Canadian boys, were slugging it out until Hetchi
Sero made the save with a surfboard on the ladder bridge.
I've not seen a surfboard on a ladder bridge before.
That was one of the safer moves I saw in
this match. Bailey got out, he tried the moon Salt

(01:57:42):
double knees barely caught Hetchisaro. Bailey messed up his knees
badly and it looked like Hetchisaro's fingers got caught in
the ladder as well. Bandido and Alexander they fought up
the ladder where Bandido could have grabbed the belts, but
he opted to hit a sunset bomb on the ladder.
There was any insane spot where Brody King brought Mike

(01:58:02):
Bailey to the apron and then from the apron he
hit a gonzo bomb through a ladder bridge. Everyone took
turns knocking one another off the ladder until Alexander laid
out Brody with a torture rag bomb. Kevin Knight climbed
the ladder as the Bucks and the Callus Family grabbed
the ladder and literally lifted it and sent Knight crashing

(01:58:24):
through two tables that were set up on the floor.
Alexander went to climb the Bucks, wiped out Hetchisera with
a super kick and Alexander with a bte trigger. Brody
cut off the Bucks from climbing and handed Bandido a
ladder as he moonsalted off the post onto the Callus
Family with the ladder while Brody took out the Bucks

(01:58:46):
with the topay. Bandido then ascended the ladder in the
ring and pulled down both belts to retain This was
as wild as you would expect this to be and
a somewhat surprising finish. I really thought the Bucks were
going to take it here, but I have no problem
with giving Brody King and Bandido a longer run. They
make a great team. You know. The real story came
after the match, as the Bucks were in the ring

(01:59:08):
all alone, when Jack Perry reappeared in the ring. We
have not seen Jack Perry in months, and I don't
know how many people even noticed, but there he was,
and he flips off the Bucks. He shot a double
leg on them. Rocky Romero appeared for some reason, even
though he's been part of the Callis family, and he
ate a DDT for his troubles. But that distraction was

(01:59:31):
enough for the Bucks to attack Perry, and they were
all set up for a BTE trigger when Perry looked up,
very slowly, looked up at them with his devilish grin
on his face, at which point the lights went out,
and then we looked up at the video screen and
we got footage of Perry digging a grave or digging
up something in the desert somewhere. He pulled a coffin,

(01:59:53):
another coffin out of the ground. He hooked it to
the back of his truck and he's driving the truck
and dragging it's somewhere. Sparks are flying as he's dragging
this coffin. Then it cut to that footage that we
saw previously of Lucasaurus hooked up to tubes and ivs
and whatnot, the same video they played when he returned
last month, and that's when some people were speculating that

(02:00:16):
the person nursing him back to help was wearing the
same kind of shirt or jacket that Jack Perry wears,
even though we couldn't see the person's face. Turns out
those people were right. It was Jack Perry and Live
in the arena. The dinosaur was already in the ring.
He was standing behind the bucks. They turned around, he
gave them a double choke slam. Perry pointed to the

(02:00:39):
kill Switch belt that he was wearing. It said kill
switch on it, so Lucasaurus took it off. He chucked
it into the crowd. Kill Switch no longer engaged. Lucasaurus
is back and the two of them hugged as they
played Tarzan Boy. And I would be lying if I
said I wasn't happy to hear that song again. I
just love the song. But honestly, this it was a

(02:01:00):
cool moment. It was a cool moment, and the crowd
reacted big to it. They were all swaying their hands
back and forth to the music and singing, I am
all for the Jurassic Express reunion. They tried with Jack
Perry as a heel, and for various reasons, it did
not work out. So this now adds And here's the

(02:01:20):
real reason I'm happy they did this. It adds another
team to a division that is growing stronger of late.
They really neglected the tag team division for a very
long time after such a strong start in this company,
and I think adding Trio's titles had a lot to
do with that. It took their focus away from the
tag team division. But right off the bat Jurassic Express,

(02:01:42):
they have already made feuds with the Young Bucks and
with Nick Wayne and Kipsabian. So you look at that
tag team division, right, who do you got. You've got Brodido,
You've got the Young Bucks, FTR Cope and Christian back together,
Blastic Express reunited. It looks like they're getting the Acclaimed

(02:02:04):
back together. You've got Jet Speed, whatever combination of the
Callous Family they want to put together any given week.
I mean, they have so many members. Same with the
Death Riders. You've got the Hurt Syndicate, You've got the
Gates of Agony, You've got the Outrunners, you've got the conglomeration,
You've got Big Bill and Brian Keith top flight. It

(02:02:26):
feels like we have a real tag team division back
at full strength. That's great news. The main event was
Hangman Adam Page defending the AW World Championship against TNT
champion Kyle Fletcher in his first pay per view main event,
first of what will be many more in the future.
I'm sure if any member of the Callous Family interferes,

(02:02:48):
Fletcher would not only lose the match, but he would
be stripped of his TNT championship. So with that stipulation added,
we at least knew nobody from his crew would be
getting involved here, right, that was safe to assume. And
I have to say this about Brian Danielson. I think
he has done a really good job on commentary so
far since joining the team. That said, he was way

(02:03:11):
over the top at different points of this match, and
he even lost his voice here. He needs to tone
it down a little bit. There's being animated and then
there's trying too hard, which is what I felt like
he was doing here. But I like the insight that
he brings, like just little things like him giving Fletcher
credit for throwing a kick at one point after there

(02:03:31):
was like a short chop battle, saying that wrestlers can
get very easily caught up in a battle of egos
throwing those chops, so it was smart for him to
go for a kick. And Fletcher was dominant for the
first I would say ten to twelve minutes of this match,
really targeting the neck with a brainbuster and a Mitchiinoku driver,
and so he was also drawing attention to that. So

(02:03:54):
there's a lot of little things that Danielson does well.
It's just again he has a tendency to really noticed
it in this match, just you know, go way over
the top. And I think he was even standing up
at one point. He's really getting into it, and that's cool.
I mean that he really finds himself getting into it
in that way, but it can be distracting. So Fletcher

(02:04:15):
got Page on the barricade outside at one point and
gave him a brainbuster, threw a table set up in
the timekeeper's area. Fletcher got Page back inside, he hit
him with a brainbuster in the middle of the ring
for a near fall. Fletcher got Page on the apron
he set up for a brainbuster threw the table down below,
but Page slipped out and gave him a dead eye

(02:04:36):
through the table on the floor. Hangman got Fletcher back inside.
He went for a buckshot Larry at Fletcher, though fell
down at the exact moment that Page threw the clothesline,
so he just barely missed him and Hangman crashed and
burned and both men were down. Page got to his
feet first, he hit a v trigger and then he
hoisted Fletcher up for a one winged angel, which the

(02:04:58):
fans were very much excited to see here. And it
makes sense because again, part of the rivalry here is
that Kyle Fletcher is the one who put Kenny Omega
out of action, so it makes sense Fletcher escaped. Though
both men jockeyed for position, Page hit a dead eye
for a good near fall. Justin Roberts announced that thirty

(02:05:19):
minutes had passed in this match, meaning they had thirty
minutes left, because I'm pretty sure these matches have a
sixty minute time limit. Fletcher came back with the hidden blade,
Page avoided the tiger driver and hit a swerve Strickland
esque JML driver for a near fall. I mean, they
were just stealing moves left and right here. I mean,
at least it made sense right. It was either people

(02:05:39):
that they had feuded with or were paying homage to.
Page went for a buck shot, Fletcher caught him with
an inside cradle for a two count. Hangman went for
another one. Fletcher, though, hit a brain buster and actually
this was a great near fall. Fletcher removed the top
turn buckle pad and he placed Hangman against the exposed
buckle right propped up up against it, face first, and

(02:06:02):
he came charging in with a running kick to the
back of the head and Fletcher then set up for
a brainbuster from the middle rope. Paige fought back. He
slammed his head on the exposed buckle, then stood on
the middle rope and hit a dead eye off the
middle rope. Page followed that with a buckshot lariot for
the win. Nearly forty minutes into this match. Was it

(02:06:25):
overly long? Yes, yes it was. This did not need
to be forty minutes anymore so than the mixtag it
wrestled Palooza needed to be thirty minutes like it could
be hard like there are matches that could go thirty
five minutes, forty five minutes and you don't even feel it.
You know, it's like it builds to an epic conclusion

(02:06:46):
and it's like, you know what, it was a long match,
but it didn't feel that long, right. It could be hard,
It could be hard to find that sweet spot, and
then you have matches that I can I can enjoy
very much. I enjoyed the mix tag last night, but
I could also sit here and tell you that it
should have been five to ten minutes shorter. And that's
how I felt. Also about the Bandido Hetchiesero match that

(02:07:09):
I saw when they had that little snafoo with the
Last Ring of Honor pay per view and they put
it up on YouTube for free. So I caught the
main event and it was an incredible match. But that
match also went almost forty minutes. That was like a
thirty seven minute match. I think this was a thirty
eight minute match, and just having a long match does

(02:07:30):
not make it a great match. I think sometimes that
message can be can be lost. So yes, it was
a long match. I do still think it was an
excellent match though, and it achieved its goal, which was
to position Kyle Fletcher as a future main event player
in this company. That was the story coming into the match.
You heard the fans at one point here chanting, you're
not ready, You're not ready. Hangman told him the same

(02:07:53):
thing and promos leading up to this show, you're not ready.
He proved that he is ready. It's just now is
not his time yet. Hangman, though, gave him plenty in
this match. He lost, but he comes out of this
stronger than he was going in. I believe, you know,
I disagree with anybody who feels like, you know, he

(02:08:14):
is coming out of this match worse There are ways
this match could have gone where he would have come
out of this match worse off. I don't see how
you can honestly and objectively watch the match that these
two had and believe that you know and believe that
Kyle Fletcher came out actually weaker than he was going
into it. I don't know who they line up next

(02:08:34):
for Hangman, since I assume they want to save the
MJF contract, cash in for Full Gear or World's End
or who knows, maybe early twenty twenty six, but we
have wrestl Dream coming up next on October eighteenth. Maybe
it's another member of the Don Kallis family. Maybe it's Takeshna, right,
we don't need him in Okada doing another champion versus

(02:08:56):
champion match. One was enough, we don't need another one
back to back months. But if Takeshta gets a main
event spot, first of all, you know it's going to
be a killer match, and when he loses, I could
see Okada mocking him for it, and Takesha entering the
Continental Classic where he can kind of get his revenge
and then take that title by beating Okada. Then you

(02:09:18):
could tie all of this together in a storyline sense
and make it all make sense. And like I said,
we'll get a killer match out of it between Hangman
and Takeshta, and then that will get us to Full
Gear and then whatever they're going to do with Full
Gear in November. So that's my best guess, because honestly,
there is absolutely nobody else right now, nobody else who
is set up to be the obvious next challenger for

(02:09:40):
Hangman page. But that was your all out twenty twenty
five card. Again, I thought it was definitely the stronger
of the two shows. It's a little weird to even compare.
I mean, people wanted to know my opinion on it
even last night so I didn't watch the main event yet,
so I didn't feel comfortable commenting the full show. But yeah,

(02:10:01):
if I'm going to compare the two shows, this was
the stronger of the two shows. And by the way,
this was also the larger of the two shows. So
it's kind of hard to compare because one show had
five matches and how many matches at this point I
didn't even count double digits. This had a lot more
matches than five, so it's not exactly apples to apples,

(02:10:24):
But just having watched both shows, you know, objectively, I
look at them and go, yeah, All Out was the
stronger card. It had, you know, the better matches, and
if you don't like it, it's great. That's why it's
my opinion and not yours. Now, while they were promoting
Dynamite this Wednesday in Pittsburgh, it was revealed that Tony

(02:10:45):
Kahan is going to be making an important announcement. Yes,
it's been a while since we've gotten one of those,
and some of the previous announcements that he's made included
things like tickets for All In at Wembley Stadium going
on sale and the announcement of the first ever Forbidden
Door many years ago between AW and New Japan. My guests,

(02:11:07):
I think we're finally getting women's tag team titles. We
know the belts have been made. Tony has talked about
it openly. The beltser may we're going to get them
at some point. He just wanted to hold off because
there were so many injuries and some of the people
who were hurt were people like Harley Cameron and Riho
and Mina Shirakawa. Well, he's gotten a lot of those
ladies back, so it just feels like that's probably what

(02:11:30):
we're going to get. If I had a venture, a
guess is the announcement of new women's tag team titles.
All right, let's take some mail bed questions and then
we'll get on out of here. If you want to
email your questions over, you may do so the Solemn
Monster at gmail dot com. Please include your name of
where you are from when you write in. Let's start
with an audio question that was sent in from Cinema Stephen.

Speaker 2 (02:11:54):
Hey, Soli Monster Cinema Stephen here. Being an avid film buff,
I've always gravitated towards pro wrestling due to its cinema
presence in terms of character action, choreography, costumes, and storylines.
But these concepts in place. Which wrestler, male or female
would you say would make for a great film character,
and vice versa. Which film character would you say would
be a great pro wrestler?

Speaker 1 (02:12:14):
Great question. I will take the last part first, Bane
from Batman. They even had a wrestler playing him in
the movie Jeep Swinston Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. I
could absolutely see him as a great heel pro wrestler.
And I'll throw a random one at you, but a

(02:12:35):
good one and a great movie if you never saw.
But that's where the ABC always be. Closing line comes
from Alec Baldwin's character in Glengarry Glenn Ross. I think
that character would have made one hell of a heel
general manager or a manager, but I picture him more
as a heel GM. I don't remember the name of
the character, but absolutely I feel like that would have

(02:12:58):
been entertaining to watch. In as far as wrestler is
making great film characters. Look, look, I'm a horror buff,
so Undertaker is definitely one. Bray Wyatt would be another,
especially the fiend Rick Flair. I mean, he's like a walking,
fucking cartoon character. And he would make for an entertaining

(02:13:18):
movie character. His whole life is like a movie. Most
people would never believe it's a real person. Andre the
Giant Randy Savage for sure. Between the voice and the
colorful outfits, I mean, he's a tailor made movie character.
Timeless Tony Storm is a definite one and chrow Sting

(02:13:41):
call me crazy, but I think they can make a
movie out of that character. Brian and Reno low Key
and Austin Ares neither put on a bed match, at
least that I ever saw what happened with both? Was
it just that both were quote marks for themselves. Of
the two, who do you think sabotaged their career more?

(02:14:05):
Probably low Key And Look, there were a lot of
stories about him going back to the beginning of his career.
I mean the time where he got physically carried out
of a CZW show by security and thrown out of
the building. After his match, he threw some sort of
tantrum after someone in the match got hurt, and I
think they went home early and he didn't get to

(02:14:26):
do all of his stuff. I mean, there have been
other stories about him being difficult to work with. You know,
we had him in House of Glory many times. I
never saw any of that. You know, he was a
total pro. It was also much later in his career,
but there are enough stories throughout the years to you
know where he should have been a bigger star than

(02:14:48):
he was and he wasn't, and there was probably a
reason for that. I can't speak personally to any of it.
Same thing with Austin Ares. I mean you hear stories
he was his own worst enemy. He couldn't get out
of his own way. Could he have been bigger than
he was? Sure, But the same can be said for
low Key. And when low Key debuted there was a
uniqueness to him. I think a lot of people thought

(02:15:10):
that this guy could be something special and it didn't
really work out that way. I mean, he's certainly not
in WWE when he was caval right, although we could
get into WWE's responsibility in that as well. Same with
Austin Aires. You know, he had a shot in WWE
and that didn't work out either. And then we saw
what happened when he lost the Impact World title to
Johnny Impact John Morrison right, no soul the finish, he

(02:15:33):
flipped everybody off, He walked out, never to be seen again.
I do wonder, and this goes for both. I do
wonder because one thing they have in common is they're
both very small compared to other wrestlers that they would
often work with. How much of their attitude or their

(02:15:53):
opinion of themselves was rooted in their size, right, and
maybe seeing it as all right, I'm small than these
other guys, and maybe people gave them shit for it,
so I have to work that much harder and I
have to have a chip on my shoulder, right, I
don't know. I don't know, because it is something that
both of them had in common. And I'm sure they
had people telling them their entire career, right, you're too short,

(02:16:15):
you're too small, you'll never be a big star. So
how much of it was like fuck you, I'll show them,
you know. I'm sure there was some of that going
on too. Luke from Maricopa, Arizona, you once made the
case a few years ago that the four young pillars
of AW who would carry the company in the future

(02:16:36):
were Darby Allen, Jack Perry, MJF and Sammy Gavar. Well,
I mean, I think those were the four pillars. I
think most people looked at them and refer to them
as the four pillars. However, while MJF has become a
true top star and Darby Allen is prominently featured, it's
safe to say that both Jack Perry and Sammy Gavar
have fallen off in terms of importance to AW. I

(02:16:59):
should point out, by the way, if it even matters,
that this question came in before Jack Perry returned it
all out last night, just FYI. So he says, My
question is this, why have Jack Perry and Sammy Gavara
failed to live up to their potential as pillars for
their company? Also, who would you say are the current
four pillars that are carrying AW? Well? I mean, Sammy

(02:17:22):
got himself into trouble a few times and that didn't
help his cause. Jack Perry mouthing off the way he
did at all in led to Cmpung's final meltdown, which
then led to Tony Kahan firing him and fearing for
his life. So, I mean, that's his biggest attraction, That
was his biggest attraction, and Punk bears a lot of

(02:17:43):
responsibility for his reaction. But I mean, who the hell
is Jack Perry to even be instigating something like that, right?
I mean I'm sure his role in that hurt his
standing to some degree. But if I had to designate
four people as the pillars of AW and five, see
I kind of have two different definitions of the pillars.

(02:18:05):
If you go by the traditional definition of young talents
that are the present and the future of the company,
I think mjf is still in there. Of course Darby
is still in there, but Kyle Fletcher has replaced Jack
Perry and Kenoski Takeshta has replaced Sammy Gabbar. Now, if
you look at the pillars as being the most important

(02:18:26):
to the company right now and in the future, I
think Tony Storm is absolutely a pillar of AW. Hangman, Page, Swerve, Strickland,
and will Ospry. So it really comes down to how
you want to define what those four pillars are or
their importance to the company. But to me, those are

(02:18:47):
the four pillars, depending on how you define them. King
Razor from Jackson, Mississippi, Between Bianca bel Air and Sasha Banks,
which woman makes the argument for the greatest African American
women's wrestler of all time? If not them, then who?
There have been a lot of great Black women's wrestlers,

(02:19:10):
many of which are active right now. You got Bianca,
you got Mercedes, You've got Athena Willow Nightingale. Just I'm
thinking of like current ones right now that are doing well.
Naomi was doing the best character work of her career
before she got pregnant. I remember Rikishi was asked this
question on his podcast a while back, like who he

(02:19:33):
thought the greatest female black wrestler was, Take one guess who?
He said, Of course he picked his daughter in law
because if they're not part of the family, I don't
think he even considers you. I think that there's two
names you left out though, that deserve to be mentioned here. Okay,
one of them is Awesome Kong. Now it hurts her

(02:19:54):
stats and all of that stuff that she never had
a proper run in WWE, right they brought her in
as Karma and then it didn't w work out. But
that run is the knockouts champion in TNA, and the
matches that she had with Gail Kim, that really is
what put that division on the map. So she may
not be the greatest of all time, but I don't
think that you can have this conversation without mentioning her,

(02:20:15):
And you also cannot have this conversation and not mention
Aja Kong because if we're being honest here, the correct
answer is Aja Kon. Aja Kang is half black. She
was born to a black father and a Japanese mother,
and she is one of the and some might say
the greatest female wrestler of all time, like period, regardless

(02:20:39):
of her race or ethnicity or anything else. Some would
say one of the greatest. Some would say the greatest.
Forty years in the business, countless championships in classic matches
and different promotions and all japan women. Like there's so
much on her resume. Would you not count her because
she's only half African American? Like that? Now you're getting

(02:21:00):
into the rock thing where you know he's half black,
half Samoen and some people don't consider him to be
the first black WWE champion even though he is. I'm
not getting into this argument again with people. They can
think what they want to think, but in that company,
he's the first. Aja Kong should be considered number one.
But if you want to choose between Sasha and Bianca,

(02:21:23):
I'm split because Bianca is a far superior athlete and
she has had some great matches, but I don't think
she's put together the body of work that Mercedes has yet. Yeah,
Bianca is a product of the WWE system. She's a
product of the WWE Performance Center. She has not worked
anywhere else outside of that system right and found success.

(02:21:48):
Although I don't doubt that if she ever did leave
that she would not find success. I'm sure she would.
She just hasn't. Mercedes has. And I'm not even talking
about the Nine Belts stuff. Like she wanted to work Japan,
she got to do that, and she had some great
matches there. She's had great matches in other promotions around
the world. She found success not only in WWE, but

(02:22:08):
in AW She's been, you know, dominant. So if if
I look at this and I've narrowed down to these two,
I'm split. You could say Bianca is the goat when
it comes to African American female wrestlers, and you would
not be I don't think you would be wrong, nor
would you be wrong if you said Mercedes. But I
don't know how you cannot have you know, Acha Kong

(02:22:30):
front and center on that list. If you forced me
to choose though, between Mercedes and Bianca, I'm probably going Mercedes.
But again I'm split. I'm split. It's tough because I
think very highly of both of them, and I don't
think there's a wrong answer either way. Isaiah from Philly.
I saw a post about Brett Hart and his opinions

(02:22:52):
on Triple H as a wrestler. Now, of course he's
entitled to his opinion, why does he seem to hold
so much hatred In my opinion, it's almost as if
he hates wrestling, or at the very least has a
love hate relationship with it. I think he should step
away from the wrestling world for a bit. Same with Cornett.

(02:23:12):
He should step away from the business. Why because people
don't like his opinions. He spent over two decades in
the ring. He's one of the greatest of all time.
He can say whatever he wants. Same with Cornett, Like
you don't have to like it. But I'm not sure
where anyone gets off telling them that they should step

(02:23:33):
away from the business. So Brett should just not make
money doing signings and making convention appearances for the people
who want to meet him. He should just stop doing
podcasts because people don't like what he has to say. Like,
I don't understand that because he said mean things about
Triple H. He hates his fucking guts. He's always been

(02:23:54):
consistent about that. Him saying Triple H never had a
good match is ridiculous, because of course he has. But
that's his opinion, and he can voice that however he
wants to. And again, some people also don't understand that.
I think in certain situations, Brett knows what he's doing
when he makes these comments and knows that he's embellishing
and it'll get headlines. And he's not a stupid person.

(02:24:17):
But he never thought much of Triple Ah. I mean
it goes back to him hanging around Sewn Michaels and
his role in the Montreal screwjob. He's a snake. That
doesn't mean that he's a miserable human being or that
he hates all pro wrestling. It's those opinions that get
amplified the most, you know, like when he heals on

(02:24:38):
Bill Goldberg wheor he talks about how much he hates chops.
Those are his opinions. There are a lot of other
people who share those opinions. Should they step away from
wrestling too. I mean, some of his opinions I agree with,
some I disagree with. You say it sounds like Brett
Hart has a love hate relationship with the wrestling business. Yeah,
you know what you would too if most of your

(02:24:59):
friends and family members were dead. And David from Sacramento
the latest be the Booker Solomonster Supercard. David is the
one who takes the time to go through all of
the matches that I have booked in. Those be the
Booker segments on YouTube and I'll get the poll up.

(02:25:22):
Sometimes people will vote on matches while we have the
results here. And so he wants to know which night
are you buying a ticket to. I'll tell you right now. Well,
i'll tell you at the end Night One with I
won't even give the percentages here, but this is the
way the cards ended up panning out. Night one main

(02:25:43):
event for the Championship, Jay Lethal against Seth Rollins in
an I Quit match. We have the tag team titles
on the line, The Outsiders against the Young Bucks. The
APA Invitational Sting Versus is Bruno Sam Martino, featuring background

(02:26:04):
brawls from Willow Nightingale, Natalia, Bo Dallas and Mister Perfect.
We have a steel cage match Coda Ibushi against Ricky
the Dragon's Steamboat. We have the Heart Foundation against the
Ultimate Maniacs, which was the team of the Ultimate Warrior
and the Macho Man Randy Savage. We have hardcore Country
Mickey James against OSCA, and we have Cmpunk as the

(02:26:28):
special referee for Triple H against Kevin Owens. Okay, so
that's Night one. Night two main event for the Championship,
Orange Cassidy against aj Styles and a barbed wires steel
cage match. God, I do remember booking some of these
matches here. We have the proto Star Kyle Fletcher against
Surfer Sting that sounds like a hell of a match.

(02:26:53):
We have the tag team titles the Golden Lovers against
Edgen Christian. We have Randy Orton against Cactus Jack. We
have the Kings of Wrestling Chris Hero and Claudio Castignoli
against the Heart Foundation of Brett and Owen. We have
Sonata against the American Badass Undertaker. What a fucking match

(02:27:15):
that sounds like a terrible match. And buried Alive Milmaretase
with Katrina against Ray Phoenix. I gotta tell you, I'm
going with Night one if I'm buying a ticket and
I can only afford one night, which if these are
TKO prices, I'm lucky if I want to buy a
ticket to either night, But if I could only afford

(02:27:36):
one night, I'm going to night one. I think that
would be a hell of a card. But David, thank
you for all of your hard work, very much appreciated,
and thank you for tuning in this week. A long show,
but a good one. We talk Wressell Palooza, we got

not win the aw World Championship tonight, which is no surprise,
but they actually destroyed his leg. And right after they
stomped on the fucking share you think you know me?
And here comes Adam Copeland and FTR who were standing

(02:29:04):
there at the go position just waiting for their cue,
watching I'm sure on a monitor as this man was
maimed by the death Riders and go out there without
my music. I leave my music right now, come on,
as soon as they hit the music out, they can't
see now if I'm Powerhouse Hobbs. When I come back
from this injury, I'm going after Cope and Bald and
Hair for not coming out and saving me here in
this spot, for being a couple of selfish, spineless asshole

(02:29:26):
where's the fucking music. You can't go anywhere until the
music hits, So let's let this poor fucker get his
leg destroyed first and then we'll run out. Please, for
the love of fucking God put the music on. That's
who Hobbs ought to go after. Very very stupid. The

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
