Survivor Series was a huge letdown last night for so many different reasons, let me count all the ways and explain why, including one terrible direction they appear to be taking for WrestleMania.  Plus, they've somehow underwhelmed even MORE with this John Cena "Last Time Is Now" tournament, and why Cena should probably beat Gunther in his final match.  Plus, Dave Meltzer claims WWE has pitched a retirement storyline to Chris Jericho... Andrade speaks out about his WWE noncompete and where things stand... Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch make headlines with a podcast interview... AEW Continental Classic thoughts so far... Ric Flair claims STREET DRUGS are what killed Hulk Hogan... the end of the Monster Factory... dream matches that both exceeded expectations and fell short of them... and the story of the Kevin Nash MTV Spring Break incident.

Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's business time, baby. You are listening to Solo Monster
Sounds off. I love you so, mama monster, dude, I
want your soul. Woman.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
You got grown ass wrestlers in the back going on Twitter.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Come over here? Is that Pet Patterson? You have legs?
I was ninety nine percent positive it was just chessed up.
Now congratulations.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Who hasn't beat Daniel Barcia. This is episode ninety of
the Solo Monster Sounds Up for Sunday, November thirtieth, twenty
twenty five.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
I am a Solo Monster.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving. Dave Meltzer is
saying that WWE has offered Chris Jericho a retirement storyline,
and those in the company have said that that is
what they would be interested in, even though he is
still under contract with AW so legally they can't offer
him anything that. This is what Dave is saying. When

(01:02):
did WWE become a retirement home? John Cena, AJ Stiles,
now Chris Jericho. I could just picture Nick Kahan giving
them and their families the Grand tour. Hey, come live
out your final days. It's shady Pines. It's like a
fucking retirement village, you know. If this report is to
be believed, and WWE is getting the word out there,

(01:25):
even if they haven't spoken to him directly, but they're
getting the word out there that all they want Jericho
for is a retirement storyline and a Hall of Fame induction.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
That may not be what Jericho wants. You know.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
I've been of the mind, as a lot of people
have been that oh, yeah, he's coming in and we'll
probably see him in the Royal Rumble next year. I
don't think he's ready to hang it up yet. Yeah,
he's posting selfies of himself with his shirt off like
he's ready for another run. Tony Kahn has made it
very clear he's Even the Young Bucks were interviewed recently
and they were lobbying for Jericho to stay. And you

(01:59):
knowep on Truckin' with AW If Tony Kahn has made
it clear though that he wants Jericho back, Jericho knows
that if he stays with AW, he'll be able to
work there for as long as he wants. It may
come down to whether Jericho is content to wind down
his career in twenty twenty six or if he wants
to keep going, and if he wants to keep going.

(02:20):
I could see him signing a one year deal, two
year deal to stay with AW If that's the case,
that's really what it's going to come down to, because
if WWE really does not have any interest in him
beyond a retirement run, and I can understand why they
would feel that way. If that doesn't jive with what
Jericho wants, it may just be better off for him

(02:40):
to stay right where he is.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
But Survivor Series was last night a very underwhelming show
on the whole, and honestly one of the worst stadium
shows that the company has ever produced. I'm going to
talk about it, plus where things stand with the John
Cena Last Time Is Now Tournament, which has been even
more underwhelming than Survivor Series, was so much so that

(03:05):
you would think they intentionally sabotaged the entire thing, unlike
the Continental Classic, which I'll talk about. Also, Becky Lynch
made headlines this week, Andrade speaks, and Rick Flair once
again puts his foot in his mouth and is forced
to address comments that he made this week about Hulk
Hogan's death. But first, if you'd like to make a PayPal.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Donation, you may do so on on thesolemn Monster dot
Com ten dollars in more will get your nickname in
a shout out. I want to say thank you to
the Portland pop Star, Paul Hamilton, MS Madness, Michelle Mills,
Oh my goodness, Michelle, thank you, Big b Bryant Bessera,
The Diamond Dallas Dance Machine, Harrison Soepp, Velvet Revolver, Robert Murray,

(03:52):
The Chicago Slayer, Willie Aichord, The Georgia Nightmare, Timothy Tillis,
the Wichita Workhorse, Clayton Edleton night Stalker, nif Al Safar
kill Shot, Keith Hart, the Brooklyn Bomber, Jamelle Walker, and
Daniel Jackson. I hope you all had a very happy Thanksgiving.
You know, you hear a lot of these names, not

(04:14):
all of them, but you hear, you know a lot
of the same ones every week. And just know I
do not take that support for granted. I appreciate each
and every single one of you. I also want to
mention you know we had Tuesday Night Titans over on
JDACH channel this past Tuesday with a fifty three minute
watch time for the episode, which is the highest retention
for the show in all one hundred and twenty two

(04:35):
episodes so far, of which I have been a part
of around seventy five of them. And you know, when
it comes to YouTube, it's all about watch time, it's
all about retention, and those are great numbers, which means
whatever it is that we're doing, whatever we're talking about,
you guys are tuning in and sticking around.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
So thank you for that.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Both of us are very grateful for the support and
the audience that we've built over there on that show.
So I just wanted to say thank you, and don't
forget that Guerrilla mons Soon book. It's called Irresistible Force,
The Life and Times of Guerrilla mon Soon by Brian
Solomon No Relation, is released an audiobook form this Tuesday,
and so you can wait until Tuesday, or you can

(05:13):
pre order it right now. Either way, if you use
my Audible link if you have not already used the link,
you can get that book for free. And so you
can just go to audibletrial dot com slash Solo Monster again.
It's called Life and Times of Guerrilla mon Soon, Irresistible Force.
That's the name of the book, and it is officially
out on Audible this Tuesday. WWE claimed forty six thousand

(05:37):
fans inside Petco Park for a new stadium record last
night for Survivor series, by far, the biggest craft for
a Survivor series in the thirty eight year history of
the show. It was also the first stadium show in
Survivor series history, and what we got was the lamest
stadium show, one of them for sure, that the company

(05:58):
has ever produced. You book only four matches on what
is supposed to be a premium live event. Four matches
in front of forty six thousand people is ridiculous enough,
but you really need all of those matches to deliver,
like there's no margin for error there. This show missed
the mark. A very underwhelming show and honestly the worst

(06:21):
Survivor series in years. We have to demand better for
these shows. There is no reason with the roster that
they have that you cannot have five matches maybe six,
on a show like this. You know, I understand that
you've got twenty wrestlers alone, you know, accounted for between
the two War Games matches, so that takes a lot
of wrestlers off the table. And you saw all the

(06:43):
star power that they had in that main event that
is where most of the big names were in that
men's Wargames match. But this was a show that would
have really benefited from adding, you know, for example, a
US title open challenge with Ilyya Draganov. Because we didn't
get one on SmackDown of Friday Night, they could added
one to this show. Maybe they'll do one on Saturday

(07:03):
Night's main event next month because they're doing the WWE
versus NXT stuff in addition to seenas match, And maybe
they do it then and they call up an nxten
aim to challenge dragging Off for the belt and win
it on that show. I don't know, but this show
would have been better off for adding something like that.
You have four matches and twenty minute breaks in between

(07:23):
matches from bell to bell. Right, it's not twenty minutes
of commercials, but it's like a solid five or six minutes,
but it's a good twenty minutes, you know, basically in
between matches before you get any kind of action, the ads,
the entrances, and then on top of that, the majority
of the time in these wargames matches, because they don't
officially start until all of the participants have entered the cage,

(07:45):
they spend much of it just wasting time and laying
around and not doing anything particularly violent.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Right.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
They play it very safe with these matches. So when
you have four matches and half of them go forty
minutes each in the first thirty there's nothing of any
real substance going on. That doesn't help. Then you add
in the lack of any real depth when it came
to the stories on the women's side, right, that didn't
even really warrant a war Games match, but we got one,

(08:15):
and the Babyfaces had the advantage, which screws up the
psychology of the entire thing because at no point did
it even feel like they were in any Great Jeopardy Right.
And then there's the sameness of it all. I feel
like I'm watching a replay of last year's Survivor series
when I see EO Sky jumping off the top of
the cage with a garbage can on her head. They
should have stuffed this show in a garbage can and

(08:37):
launched it off the top of the cage. And then
in the men's Wargames match, if it feels a little
like deja vu, you're not the only one. Roman Reign,
Cmpunk and the USO's all on the same side. That's
the exact same thing we had in last year's Wargames.
Just replace Sammy's name with Cody Rhods.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
That was the only difference.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Like, is the mid card really that better off under
Triple H than it was under Vince McMahon. Triple H
definitely has his people that he will push when he
wants to, but it's hard to break out when these
are supposed to be the events that matter, right, these
are your premium shows, and when you only have four
matches or even five frankly, that feature the same faces

(09:20):
over and over and over and over again in the
same spots, you don't leave very many open to those people, right,
who could really use that spotlight.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
We had a little bit of that last night.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
I'm not saying that they don't occasionally try to do that, right.
You had bron Breaker in the main event going over.
They put lash Legend in the women's match, so they
were trying to make an effort in a spot here
and there. But by and large, you look at these
lineups and these names and it's like there's so many
other people on the roster who just sit on the
sidelines and they're left out. Sorry, we don't have any

(09:53):
room for you we need more drama with the Samoans
or with punkin Roman or with Roman. It's like they're
playing their greatest hits from the last three or four
years over and over and over again. Eventually you get
sick and tired of seeing it. We have to demand better.

(10:13):
The men's Wargames match last night it was better than
the women's same as last year's show. But that's not
to say that the men's match was great, right, I mean,
it won't be making any year end lists. The Heels
went in with the advantage, and the Heels went over
in the end, as I figured they would, and they
at least did the right thing.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
On the finish.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
They had bron Breaker, who they have tabbed as a
future WrestleMania main eventer. They had bron Breaker pinning Cmpunk,
which should put him square in contention for the World
Heavyweight Championship, but it seems like they're teasing that as
the WrestleMania match. WrestleMania is still a long ways away.
If it were up to me, I would do that

(10:52):
match with the Royal Rumble, but they probably want to
save Breaker's first big title win for a show like WrestleMania,
so that could be WrestleMania direction coming out of last night.
But that's assuming Seth Rollins is not back by then,
because that's what he's aiming for. And I'll talk more
about Seth a little later. He could potentially be back
in time for WrestleMania. It's cutting it close, but there's

(11:14):
at least a small chance we could be looking at
Rollins in punk instead. The way things went down, though,
with Rollin's being booted out of the Vision, it's I
think it's more likely he comes back as a babyface,
So you have Punkin Breaker the only other WrestleMania direction
that was even hinted at, and I really hope this
was just done to throw us off, but if Dave

(11:35):
Meltzer is to be believed, this is the direction for
WrestleMania forty two is Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes. They
did not share a very friendly stare down at the
end of their match. Roman made it clear this is
the last time that the two of us are ever
going to be teeming, and they leaned very heavily into

(11:56):
the idea of Roman and Cody three, which would mean
that Roman wins the Royal Rumble or the elimination Chamber
and challenges Cody for the WWE Championship.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
I hope that.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Doesn't happen because it goes to the point that I
just made about seeing the same people in the same
matches over and over again. We already saw those two
headlines back to back WrestleMania's and those matches were great.
I'm not saying they weren't. Roman and Cody had a

(12:27):
great one at thirty nine until the finish, and forty
was perfect. It was the perfect epic payoff to that program.
I have no appetite to go back to Roman Reigns
against Cody Rhods. I mean, is there really is pent
up demand for this rubber match? Triple h after the
show last night, he said Roman Reigns is bigger than

(12:48):
the Championship. He said he felt the same way about
him that he felt about the Undertaker, where the Undertaker
transcended the business in such a way that you didn't
even need to talk about him being in the title picture.
I don't need to see Roman challenging for another championship
at WrestleMania. The man is coming off a thirteen hundred
day run as champion that will not be matched again,

(13:09):
at least not for many many years. He works half
a dozen matches a year. This man does not need
to be in the title picture. I'm sorry, Why do
we keep going back to this? The Undertaker had his
streak at WrestleMania. There's other people that Roman could be
working with and giving the rub to just by working
with them. Whether he beats them, whether he does the

(13:30):
job for them, it doesn't matter. There's other people he
could be working with. There's other matches that have not
been done already, including by the way Roman reigns against
bron Breaker. But there are other matches that you could
be doing here. Why are we teasing Roman and Cody
again when Cody and Punk is right there? Why are
we teasing Cody and Roman again when Randy Orton still

(13:51):
has not challenged Cody for the championship. With all of
their history that still hasn't been tapped into. It's been
almost four years since Tody came back. We had one
match between them, a throwaway match with no story, in
the finals of The King of the Ring. That's it.
Paul Hayman was on First Take on ESPN this week.

(14:12):
He called Survivor Series their audition for WrestleMania. It was
the show that they were going to use to show people, Hey,
you need to buy tickets to come to Las Vegas
for WrestleMania next year. Are you compelled to buy tickets
to go to WrestleMania in Las Vegas next year? After
what you saw last night? This show didn't do much
to get me excited for WrestleMania if that was one

(14:33):
of the goals. I'm more interested in the stories in
the matchups that they put together. The thing is WWE
these days, they're more interested in the moments and the
spectacle and the grandeur of it all. All right, the
elaborate entrances and the big names and look, all of
that is definitely part of the package. The problem is

(14:54):
in between all of that, tucked in there at its core,
it is still a wrestling show that requires you to
have interesting stories and interesting characters and to know what
to do with those characters. And they have been coasting
for a long time now. Because business is still booming.
They had forty six thousand people in Petco Park to
see the stars and to see John Cena in person

(15:16):
one last time. A few more weeks they won't have
John Cena anymore, so, then what's the attraction. That's what
they need to figure out for WrestleMania season. But this
idea of going back to Roman and Cody, when we
already saw it twice and you have all of these
other potential matches you could be doing, it's just fucking lazy.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
You know.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
Sometimes these short cards like what we had last night,
it could be carried by one or two, like really
great wrestling matches.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
This show didn't have that.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
Instead, in between the Wargames matches, we had John Cena
and Dominic Mysterio, with dom winning the Intercontinental title back
with an assist from all the members of the Judgment,
they including the returning Live Morgan, and they didn't go
balls to the wall or anything in this match. The
match itself, honestly, really wasn't all that different from the

(16:09):
match that they had in Boston on Raw a few
weeks ago, and that was as basic a match as
you will ever see. But it worked because people just
wanted to see John Cena do his spots and they
wanted to see John Cena win the Grand Slam, which
he did. I was hoping personally, personally, I was hoping
for a little more out of the match than we
got last night, because I know Scene has got it

(16:30):
in him. We saw it with Cody at SummerSlam. We
saw it with Logan Paul and Paris. We saw it
with aj Styles at Crown Jewel. We didn't get that here.
It was the usual dirty Dom shenanigans, which was fine.
I mean I expected that to be a part of this,
including a spot outside the ring where they played off
the Penta injury from Raw last Monday, where he injured

(16:51):
himself doing Irana off the top of the barricade to
Solo Socoa. Only here the bump that Dom took looked
far more devastating than what happened to Penta on Monday.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
But here Dom wasn't actually hurt.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
It gave Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez the chance to
hit their finishers on Sena in the ring, and then
all of a sudden, Dom was okay. So we went
from Raquel and Rock saying interfering and being ejected to
a ref bump, to Finn Balor and JD McDonogh getting involved,
to Live Morgan getting involved and teasing a split with

(17:26):
Dom by slapping him, only to then kick Sena in
the Dick and then hit him with a belt shot
to help give Dom the title. One of the most
overbooked matches of the entire year, and the crowd mostly
ate it up because they liked Sena and they like
Dom since they were in San Diego, it wasn't all
booze for Dom and they just really also like seeing
Live Morgan back and it's great that they have her

(17:47):
back now. She really developed into one of the biggest
names on the show before she got hurt, and now
they can play it a few different ways. They can
return to the tension between her and Finn Balor, right
because Balor really doesn't like her clearly. They could tease
dissension her in Roxane Perez. They could put her back
in the women's world title picture, right, They could do
all three. But the key here was getting the belt

(18:09):
off of John Cena before that final match.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
They had to.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
They had to get that championship off of him, and
so it was the right outcome and it's the biggest
win of Dominic Masterio's career. He now gets to be
the man who beat John Cena and maybe the last
man to ever beat John Cena. If John Cena wins
his final match. Dom can gloat about that too, And
let's talk about that final match because they are winding
down this Last Time is Now tournament, which has been

(18:35):
a total dud so far. Gunther has had the two
best matches in the entire thing. I like the one
with Javon Evans a little bit more than his match
with Carmelo Hayes on Monday, but they were both very good.
Everything else outside of that has been completely forgettable. And
it doesn't help that they've had two names bounced out
due to injuries, shoulder injuries, that being Seamus and Penta.

(18:58):
There's some sort of shoulder place going around this company. Seamus, Penta,
seth Rawlins, liv Morgan, Chad Gable. No one is safe.
But with sham Is going down, they had the Miz
replace him against La Knight un SmackDown the Miz, who
already lost in a riveting battle with jay Uso in

(19:19):
the opening round. I mean the generations. We'll talk about
this match that these two men had a few weeks ago.
Mis played some tricks with the balls on Friday. I
don't know how nick All this allowed this, given that
Mis's name was already chosen from the Tumbler once before,
unless we're supposed to believe that everyone's name is in
there twice. But he allowed it, and so we had

(19:42):
La Knight beating Miz to advance, and Solo Socoa advanced
over Penta. Due to Penta's injury, he wanted to continue.
I guess his shoulder popped out, but they wouldn't allow
him to continue, so Solo one. I don't get the
impression Penta is going to be gone for very long.
It could be a case where he's not able to wressel.
Next month, he's supposed to reunite the Lucha Bros With

(20:04):
Ray Phoenix against Dom and El Grande Americano. I think
December twentieth at the Triple A Show. I don't know
if he'll be back in time for that. It's possible,
it's possible if he's not back in time for that, though,
I don't see him being gone for too long. So
that's the good part about that. But Solo Socoa won
this match, and that sucks because we could have had

(20:25):
Gun there against Penta in the semi finals. But Brian
Alvarez and then Sean ross Sap, they're all claiming that
Solo Socoa was always scheduled to win that match, which
my brain just cannot comprehend. It's like why because Solo
was leading his team into that elimination match on Friday,

(20:47):
so we got to keep him looking strong, Like are
you fucking kidding me? Why would anyone intentionally book a
Gunther Solo Socoa match over a Gunther Penta match in
this tour just for the heel versus heel factor alone?
But why would you do that? Why would anyone do
such a thing on purpose? It's the story of this

(21:07):
half assed tournament. I mean, that really is the whole
story right there in a nutshell. It's actually very on
brand for them.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
You know.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
I gave them the benefit of the doubt on the
Miz thing, because if they had limited time to put
together because they take two smackdowns last week to give
the wrestler's time off so they didn't have to work
on Friday, So if they only got the news that
day that Seamus wasn't going to be cleared medically and
they have two shows to tape, like, I gave them
the benefit of the doubt, Like, Okay, they went with

(21:36):
the Miz like whatever it is, what it is. They
had to put something together on short notice. But there's
really no reason for me to give them the benefit
of the doubt when almost every other decision they've made
is safe and boring. Like, why am I giving them
the benefit of the doubt? They don't deserve it. So
we're left with Gunther against Solo and jay Usso against

(21:58):
La Knight. So basically it's gun THTHERER against jay Uso
or La Knight. They're gonna give us another gun Thro
jay Uso match, aren't they aren't they?

Speaker 1 (22:09):
I can't. I just I can't do it. I just
can't do it.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
The way John Cena got screwed out of the title
last night, I think there's a very good chance he's
going to beat Gunther and he goes out with a
win on December thirteenth. It would go against everything that
John Cena probably believes in, Like, if it's up to him,
I'm sure he would rather go out putting the other
guy over. But I could see Triple H, you know,
making an executive decision and wanting him to, you know,

(22:35):
get the win on his way out. I likened it
the other night to Tony Connan's thing in aw where
the belief is that Sting wanted to lose and assumed
he was going to lose in his final match, but
Tony Connan maybe others insisted like no, like you're undefeated
and we're gonna send you out with a win. But

(22:55):
that's not the way that if it were up to him,
that's not the way that he would have gone out.
And I can see the same situation playing out here
with you know, John Cena, you know where they want
him to get that win on the way out, give
the fans the feel good moment, for him to lose
the way that he lost to Dom and then to
be let's say, put to sleep by Gunther. I will

(23:16):
admit like that would be very anticlimactic. I think if
I was in Paulovc's shoes, I would have seen it
go overall, so I would I might feel differently if
they went with an NXT talent or someone who could
really use that win, especially if he went into this
match with the Intercontinental title. But Gunther is not harmed

(23:36):
if he loses to John Cena. The man lost to
fucking Jay Usso at WrestleMania, Like if he tapped out
to Jay Usso, he can lose to John Cena.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
He'll live and.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
Let Dom have that glory of being the last man
to ever beat John Cena. That could be his thing.
Stephanie Vicaire, she retained her Women's World championship last night
over Nikki Bella and the most heatless thing on the
entire show. Nobody cared about anything except the Devil's kiss.
And I'm worried that Stephanie is becoming just a move

(24:10):
when she's so much more than that. Nicki never should
have been in this match to begin with. I mean,
the last time this woman won a match one on one,
I think at all, let alone one on one, was
in July over Chelsea Green, and yet here she is
in a championship match with so many other names left
off this show entirely. This felt like a one and

(24:30):
done watching it last night. That's exactly what it should be.
You got Live Morgan back, You've got Raquel and Roxanne,
both of whom have made it very clear to Adam
Pierce they want a shot at Stephanie's title. That's where
they should go next. Nicki Bella has no business being
a part of any of this. Aj Lee Rhea, Ripley, Eosky,

(24:50):
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. They won Women's war Games
over Becky Lynch Oskar Kyrie saying Naya Jackson lash Legend
the most ordinary, safest Wargames match that I have ever
seen in the history of Wargames matches. Like I have
to say, watching this match, it's hard not to compare,

(25:12):
just because we are coming off of four wargame style
matches between WWE and AW in like a two two
and a half week span.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
That's a lot. That's too much.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Like if you watch both, you're coming off four of
these things and having just watched that women's blood and
Guts match two weeks ago, that didn't help this match
at all. Like AW overdes it on the blood for sure,
it's like a competition for who can lose the most
pints of blood in a single match, But at least
it felt like a violent affair worthy of the stipulation,

(25:48):
you know. The pendulum just swings the complete opposite way
with WWE, where I'm just left wondering why this even
needed to be contested inside of a Wargames match to
begin with, if they really weren't going to even make
full use of them being locked inside a cage This
had Survivor Series elimination match written all over it. But

(26:10):
then Eo couldn't do her dive off the top that
she does every single year. We got to get the
dive in the best part of the match was Ryo
Ripley's art, the clown mask that she was wearing. In
the end, Becky tapped out to aj Lee in the
Black Widow and Becky has taken a lot of losses lately,
including to aj and back at Russell Palooza. Right Seth

(26:30):
and Becky lost. Becky just lost her Intercontinental title to
Maxine Dupree. Now she lost here in Wargames for her team,
so she's due for a big win. She's entertaining when
she's doing the whole bit where she's losing her mind.
She's already claiming I didn't really tap out, so she's
going to continue doing that. But she's due for a
big win soon. You know, lash Legend was in this match,

(26:53):
and it's kind of crazy when you think that lash
Legend just officially got called up to the main roster
and in her first official main roster match, she's in
fucking war Games. So of course she got no reaction
coming out to the ring because first of all, her
music sucks. I think Lash is good. She's got the
potential to be great. It's not a reflection on her.

(27:13):
Her music is fucking terrible. Okay, so that didn't help.
But she got no reaction coming out because she hasn't
been established yet. Right, She's very impressive when she does
some of these power spots, even just throwing a forearm
from her right. It's all in how you sell it,
like when she threw that forearm a few weeks ago
at EO Sky and EO just went flying backwards through
the air.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
I mean it was great. So she has those moments.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
It's very much like Jade, honestly, where Jade is this
very big, strong, powerful woman who is very good at
doing these power spots and these power moves. And with Jade,
there really isn't much more to it than that at
the moment, but she looks the part.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
Lash is very athletic, you know, she's super athletic.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
She's bigger than a lot of the other women you
saw in this match, right, she was dwarfing fucking aj Lee.
So there's certain things that she does well. They didn't
have her do a whole hell of a lot, and
I think that was by design because she's not ready
to be in a spot like this. She really had
no business being in this match, so they had her
do some very limited stuff, and then they had Oscar

(28:17):
accidentally missed her, which was smart because that took her
out of the equation. She didn't factor into the match
again after that. Beyond that, I can't say a whole
hell of a lot, because again she didn't do much here.
But they have to be calling women up from NXT
SmackDown is in dire need of the help, so I'm
glad she's on the main roster. But was she ready
to be in a spot like this in Wargames where

(28:38):
she and I are were just sort of tacked onto
the match. No, of course not. And it goes to
my point about how this did not need to be
inside Wargames. If they didn't have enough women to supply
for a Wargames match where it made sense for them
to be in there, then they shouldn't have done one
to begin with.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
But this is what we're stuck with.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
Because they do one for the men, they got to
do one for the women, and we need our two
obligatory Wargames matches every year, so this is what you
end up with. The other one in the men's side
had Team Vision, who had the advantage coming into men's wargames.
They won the match after bron Breaker pinned Cmpunk. There
was a Wrestle votes report earlier in the day, a

(29:17):
tweet that there were differing opinions regarding the entrance order
for this match with all of the star power that
was involved, And I'm just thinking, like, can you even
imagine these men in a traditional Survivor Series elimination match?
Like what a fucking nightmare that would be trying to
figure out who gets eliminated and when. Like if they

(29:39):
can't even decide on the entrance order, what the hell
would a match.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
Like that look like?

Speaker 3 (29:44):
Like, what a nightmare? This is why we can never
have another elimination match in the main event at Survivor
Series ever.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
Again.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
They wouldn't want to beat anybody. Half the team would
be counted out or disqualified for kicking too much ass.
Break Pinpunk after a mystery man dressed in all black
climbed into the cage, hit Punk with a super kick
and then a curb stomp. And they really wanted you
to think it was seth Rawlins, even though that would

(30:12):
make absolutely no sense whatsoever. You would have to be
brain dead to believe that that was seth Rawlins, like
even just in storyline, like, it makes no fucking sense.
And these days Seth, even Seth isn't moving quite as
fast as this guy was. That's why I was laughing
when people were like, oh, maybe it's Randy Orton, Maybe
it's there was one person in the live chat, maybe
it's Chris Jericho. Like did you see the way this

(30:35):
guy was moving, climbing in and out of the cage.
You imagine Randy Orton or Chris Jericho climbing that fast.
I don't think they would have climbed that fast twenty
years ago. So they had the announcers even mentioned Rollins
by name, right, they actually mentioned him by name. How
it can't be seth Rawlins. He just had shoulder surgery,
it's not seth Rawlins. The person was never revealed, They

(30:58):
never revealed their identity. Instead, they climbed right back out
of the cage. So that was pretty lame because it
led directly into the finish. I hated the way they
did this, but I liked that they had bron breaker
go over on CMPUNK. But everyone is speculating about the
mystery man. And I said it last night, even before
I saw Mike Johnson's report. I said, it's Austin theory.

(31:23):
Austin theory is joining the vision. It makes sense if
he was originally supposed to be He was rumored to
be in the match before Seth got hurt and everything
got blown up, because this match looks very different if
Seth Rollins doesn't get injured. Austin theory is one. In
my view, he is one last push away from his

(31:44):
career living or dying. They've spent the last two years
killing any credibility that he may have had, not that
he had much to begin with. That's a tough thing
to recover from when you're stuck in that spot. You're
stuck in neutrals, so low on the card for so long.
Right it's not impossible to recover from, but the more

(32:04):
time that goes by, it becomes more and more difficult.
Right now, this is sink or swim for him. This
either works or his career is toast. So I hope
it works out for him. But you know, it's Austin theory.
It's not Randy Orton. It's not Jericho, it's not you know,
it's any of this other nonsense that I saw people
in the chat speculating on last night. Now, if they

(32:25):
dragged this out long enough, I suppose it could be
like a Black Scorpion WCW type deal where whoever gets
revealed is not actually the same person who was under
the mask last night. But there again, there's a report
now that Theory was the man under the mask. He
was spotted in the building last night, so it's him now.

Speaker 1 (32:45):
Logan.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
Paul was with Paul Hayman, bron Breaker, and Bronson Reid
on the post show last night. Brock Lesner was not there.
Drew McIntyre was not there. I don't know if that
means Logan is officially a member of the Vision now
or not. I don't see him being on TV full time,
but he was with them after the show, so maybe
he's gonna still run.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
With them for a little bit. It was a better
match than the other Wargames match, but not by much.
I mean, we got some good action there towards the end,
in like the last ten minutes or so, and then
the postmatch stuff, where again it looked like they were
teasing a third match with Cody Rhods and Roman Reigns.
That's a hard pass for me. I am over the

(33:25):
same guys headlining WrestleMania year after year after year. I'm
sick of it. For the love of God, I mean,
get these men new people to work with, please. The
talent is there. It's time to take a break from Wargames. Also,
by the way, I know they won't, but they should
save it for when it really matters.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
Bringing back the elimination format would be a welcome change,
even if just for one year, But that presents issues
with beating people, which they don't like doing because they
don't trust their own talent.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
We can't beat them.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
I even floated last night the idea of trying out
the Iron Survivor Challenge concept from NXT right. It would
be something different, and then you could always circle back
to Wargames when you got something really good in mind
for it. But they planned these things out so far
in advance. They're going to be marketing Wargames. You gonna
see Wargames posters for Survivor series by the spring, and

(34:14):
there's no way that they're going to know by then
what their stories are going to be heading into November,
so we're stuck with it regardless. So I mean get
ready for Roman Reigns and the USOS and wargames again
next year. With Jay yeating on top of the cage
to his music, that man was doing unspeakable things to
that cage. I hope they disinfected it when the show
was over. Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch made some headlines

(34:39):
this week stemming from an interview with comedian Bert Kreischer
on his Something's Burning YouTube show, where he was cooking
food for them to eat. It's all very casual. Rollins
gave an injury update and a timeline for one we
can expect to potentially see him back in the ring.
He injured his shoulder on a coast to coast dive
back at Crown Jewel that was in October. He underwent surgery.

(35:01):
The timeline given to him by the doctors, he says,
was six months. He said, I mean, there's nothing good
about being hurt. I'm trying to find the silver linings.
I'll get to spend more time with my daughter, which
is great, more time at home once I get this
sling off, which is in like another month then it
might be like full vacation mode for a little while
before I lock in and have to start training to

(35:22):
get ready to come back. My guess is about eight
to twelve weeks of like, Okay, now I have to
stop eating like an asshole. Probably twelve weeks plus we'll
be moving right into WrestleMania season. So I'm hoping around February,
after all the holiday stuff, I can start to be like, Okay,
lock in, no more bs, give myself a month before

(35:43):
I can come back. Ish maybe maybe I don't even know.
They say six months, so this could be April, so
the sling comes off next month, and then around February
he's saying, is when the serious training would begin for
a comeback. That might put him back in the ring
around April April of course being WrestleMania, although that would
be too late for him to be slotted into I

(36:05):
think a major match on that show. They can't well
hold a spot open for him against someone like Roman
Reigns or CM Punk or bron Breaker if they don't
have some assurance that he's going to be good to
go in time for that show. Now, what they can do.
What they can do is they could tack him on
to a CM Punk Bron Breaker match because he's got
issues with Punk and he has issues with Breaker. Given

(36:25):
the Breaker is the one who broke him and kicked
him out of the vision, they could turn it into
a triple threat match that could potentially be what we're
looking at. If Rollins is back in time. It's like, Okay,
if he's back in time, we'll just add him on
to Punk and Breaker and make it a triple threat
that I could see. But of course, all of this
is predicated on him actually telling the truth.

Speaker 1 (36:45):
Here. It's Seth Rollins we're talking about.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
I mean, they just worked everybody on the knee injury
a few months ago. Just because he said it doesn't
mean it's true. He could always be back sooner. But
if we take what he says at phase value, I
think that would align with what most people expected about
six months before we get him back in the ring.
But Seth wasn't the only one making news on Chryser's show.
Becky Lynch was on there with him, and in the

(37:09):
course of talking about how their friendship turned into romance,
Becky said that one of the reasons they kept things
platonic was because she was warned to stay away from
the boys, which surprised Chryscher that it didn't go the
other way also, where there would be a rule for
the men to stay away from the girls. Of course,
doesn't work that way, and so they had to smarten

(37:32):
him up to the wrestling culture, or at least the
way things were in the WWE locker room back then,
like around twenty fifteen, when Becky got called up to
the main roster, right, I think it was that summer
when Becky and Charlotte and Sasha they all got called up.
I think Bailey came the following year, but Becky said, no,
it's stay away from the boys.

Speaker 1 (37:52):
Like certain things.

Speaker 3 (37:52):
I'm not going to name names, but there was a
guy on the main roster who it was like, be careful,
be careful, because one I'll try to sleep with you.
If he sleeps with you, then he'll blacklist you. And
then if he tries to sleep with you and you
don't sleep with him, he'll also blacklist you. So there
was this line that you had to walk this typrope

(38:13):
And Chryscher asked if he would know the main roster
person that she's referring to, and Becky said, oh, you
know him, definitely. She said at one point this person
that this being the alleged harasser, got my number, and
I remember being like, how do you walk this line?
So there was always this thing of because if you
get into a relationship and things go south, they're not

(38:36):
going to fire the guy. They're always going to fire
the girl. So it was a very very scary thing.
And of course I wish that she would name the
sleeves bag. But this is something that she was supposedly
told by another person on the roster.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
It's not like this.

Speaker 3 (38:53):
Alleged dirt bag actually propositioned her or threatened her job.
She was only warned stay away from this person. So
it's secondhand information. Is it true? Is it not true?
We don't know. I mean, this person never blacklisted Becky Lynch.
So throwing names out there is kind of a dangerous
thing to be doing. But that hasn't stopped people from

(39:15):
speculating about who it was that she was talking about.
You bring up a story like that and you don't
name names, of course people are going to speculate.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
I'm not going to do that.

Speaker 3 (39:24):
The other thing also that came out of this interview
and They talked about a lot of different things, but
she brought up the brief feud that she had after WrestleMania. This,
I guess would have been back in twenty nineteen with
Lacey Evans. Lacey Evans spent time on social media on
Wednesday responding to Becky Lynch's comments about their storyline. Becky

(39:49):
talked about their feud, and in the course of talking
about it, she said that it was terrible to go
from main eventing WrestleMania thirty five to immediately being thrust
into a feud with Lacy Evans, who only joined the
main roster a few months before and hadn't even wrestled
up to that point. She said, I start working with

(40:09):
Lacey Evans right out of the gate, God bless her,
but she wasn't you know, For me to go from
the main event of WrestleMania to somebody who hadn't done
anything was terrible. Now you'll notice in what she said there,
she didn't knock Lacey Evans personally. It's not like she said, oh,
Lacey was terrible, or she couldn't wrestle, or I didn't

(40:30):
like her.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
She didn't really say anything bad about Lacey Evans.

Speaker 3 (40:33):
Actually, there was nothing that Becky Lynch said there that
was untrue, like for her to go from main eventing
WrestleMania and being the hottest star in the women's division
to immediately working with someone who was brand new and
had not even really wrestled on the main roster, and
she was working that gimmick and everything, and it was
kind of it was kind of cheesy, but yeah, it was.

(40:55):
It was quite the come down. It was kind of
dumb for her to immediately go into that feud. Nothing
she said was wrong there, but Evans didn't take it
that way, and so she responded. She posted nine different
times on x she posted, and then she was quote
tweeting and replying to people, but she said, don't hate
the player, hate the game. The only person who shoot

(41:17):
cried more than you was the baby that I had
on my hip while taking all the opportunities. If and
when I come back, you will still do nothing but
gently shake my hand and say how cute my little
family is backstage. I'm not even going to get into
all the other shit that she posted, It's not even
worth it. But I just thought it was kind of
funny because she seems to have taken it a little

(41:39):
more personally than I think Becky intended for it to be.
But there was nothing that Becky said in that comment
that was wrong. It was terrible. Got an update here
on Andrade. He did an interview with Deportees that was
published on Wednesday. He said that he is working with
WWE on an agreement to get out his one year

(42:00):
noncompete clause. And he also said the WWE and this
is what he's claiming. WWE only activated the clause after
he appeared on aw television. Before then, Androte believed that
he was completely free of his deal. He said, my
lawyers are already talking with WWE's lawyers and they're reaching
an agreement. I don't know the exact date, and the

(42:23):
interview was in Spanish, so this is a Google translation
here of his remarks. But he also addressed some of
the wellness policy stuff around his release. He said, I
returned to WWE a year and a half ago. I
was in AW and at that time I was happy
earning millions, but I was married. My ex wife's name
is Charlotte Flair, and the idea was to return to

(42:44):
WWE to be with her, and many things happened. We
got divorced, and I was not comfortable in some things.
I got a warning call because many medicines and supplements
that in Mexico can be consumed, but not there. We
have certain restrictions on recipes that we cannot consume as
athletes because of doping and things like that. I was

(43:04):
also a little annoyed so because that was part of
what came out is that supposedly he had various wellness
policy violations, which could mean anything. A wellness policy violation
can just be a failure to submit a sample in time,
you know, or it doesn't mean that someone's doing this
and doing that. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't, I

(43:27):
don't know. But what he's saying there is that certain
things that would have been legal and okay for him
to use in Mexico evidently were not okay with the
WWE policy.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
He said.

Speaker 3 (43:37):
I talked to WWE, we reached an agreement to leave
the company, and we ended up in the best way
in that time. Then I returned to AW. I imagine
they didn't like that. I really don't know. I'm very
grateful to WWE since the lawyer I had was also
my ex wife's lawyer. You can't use the same lawyer anymore.
The contract I signed, the lawyer did not realize a

(43:59):
clause of twelve without competition, and from there they took
that clause. Right now, we are in that phase. It
wouldn't be a year. We're negotiating. I'm going to be
three months inactive and I can't compete worldwide. So again,
not the best translation here, but it sounds like they're

(44:19):
actively talking through their lawyers. The two sides are talking.
He doesn't expect to be out forree. He's not going
to be out for a year. However, this gets resolved
ANDROTI is not going to be held out for a year.
First of all, all of this is complete nonsense, like
I'm not even a lawyer, but it's you know, you
look at the situation here and it's common fucking sense.
Especially if he's not being paid, which he didn't address that,

(44:42):
but especially if he's not being compensated. They cannot keep
him out for a year like a worldwide thing. You
can't work in your profession, you can't. Yeah, I know
all the people who you know wanted to pile on Ridge.
Holland would be like, well, he could just go find
another job. He doesn't have to wrestle, right, they'll defend
them onto they're dying breath. You cannot prevent the man

(45:02):
from doing what he does for a living for a
fucking year anywhere in the world and not pay him.
And frankly, even if they did pay him, I don't
think that they have a leg to stand on with this.
So if he really wanted to pursue it and not
be such a nice guy, he would take this to
court and this would be settled very quickly. Either way,
Androtti is not going to be out for a year.
He seems to think that he may be out for

(45:22):
ninety days, which is the standard non compete, and then
he can be free and clear to go back to
AW So that's where things stand at this point. But
the last quote here that comes from this interview, he
said they are trying to negotiate so as not to
go to court. They have reached a good arrangement and
are doing things better. I think I have a date

(45:43):
that being when he can work for other promotions. But
it remains for WWE to officially sign it, to say okay,
this is the day Androtte returns to the ring.

Speaker 1 (45:54):
So this is his side of the story here.

Speaker 2 (45:55):
And.

Speaker 3 (45:57):
To hear him tell it, he wasn't really a way
of this clause in the contract or his lawyer failed
to alert him about it. And that's kind of crazy
to me, because when you sign these contracts, when it
comes to certain things like non competes, you should probably
read it and have a pretty firm understanding without somebody else,
you know, outsourcing that to somebody else. Right, you need

(46:18):
to know what you're signing when you sign these contracts,
especially when it comes to WWE and TKO. I would
imagine the language in these contracts has changed in the
last couple of years. It might be more restrictive than
it was even before for all we know. But that's
his side of the story. All indications are that he
led AW to believe that he was not under a

(46:39):
non compete and they just took him at his word,
which of course blew up in their faces. So if
I'm hearing him correctly, he didn't think there was a
noncompete and WWE only enforced it when they saw that
he went to AW, which if that's what happened here,
that's the ultimate petty bitch move on their part. If
that is what happened, but yes, this will be resolved

(47:02):
I think in very short order. This nonsense would not
hold up in court, nor is it something that WWE
would want to be litigated in court. And as we've
seen before with brock Lesnar and with Alberto del Rio,
if it ever got to that point where he did
want to take it to court, WWE would be settling
with him very quickly. Let's switching over to aw full

(47:26):
gear is in the rear view, which means it is
Continental Classic season and if you are not a fan
of the Continental Classic, then boy, is this not going
to be a fun month for you, because these matches
are going to dominate Dynamite and Collision for the next
few weeks heading into World's End. The tournament kicked off
on Wednesday. It is already a better tournament than the
last time. Is now garbage that WWE is doing for

(47:49):
John Cena where they play everything safe. It's round robin
style with two leagues, the Gold League and the Blue League.
Everyone in each league faces each other, with the Leadleague
finals and the Championship Final all taking place at World's
End on December twenty seventh. So right there, that's three
matches that we already have for World's end and it

(48:09):
is for the Continental title only, which means if Okada
does not win, because he is in the tournament since
he is the current unified champion, if he doesn't win,
then the Continental title and the International title will no
longer be unified, and the unified title that they just
created a few months ago, it goes on a shelf

(48:30):
somewhere with the Elf heading into Christmas Elf on a shelf,
we'll we'll have the Unified Championship sitting right next to it.
Because Okada beat Kenny Omega at all in to unify
the two titles, which was a dumb thing to do
to begin with. As Tony Kan said, the titles were
never retired. Their lineage lives on. That's why if you
go to the AW roster page you would see Okada.

(48:52):
I assume it's still that way right now. You see
Okada listed three different times under champions They have his
picture in there three different times to represent all three belts.
So now they're not unified, I guess anymore, and they
may not be at the end of all this, which
means the International title would be defended again at a
time where they just introduced a new national title which

(49:16):
can be defended internationally. It's all very convoluted for no
reason at all, where there should not be any championship
at stake here, for being honest, the tournament like this,
which was obviously born out of the G One Climax,
it should work like the G One where the winner
gets a shot at the top title. You know, in
New Japan it's at the Tokyo Dome. You get your

(49:38):
shot on January fourth, although you can request it earlier.
That's what happened with Takeshta. He didn't want to wait
for the Tokyo Dome, so he had his title match.
I guess it was October and he won the championship. Typically,
though you win the G One Climax, you get a
spiffy little briefcase with a contracted side and you get
your shot on January fourth.

Speaker 1 (49:57):
Here it could be.

Speaker 3 (49:58):
At Revolution, but because Tony Khan has a belt fetish,
this is what we end up with now. In the
Gold League we have Darby, Allen Pack, Kevin Knight, Speedball,
Mike Bailey, Kyle Fletcher, and Kazuchka Okada. In the Blue
League we have Kenoski TAKESHDA, John Moxley, Claudio Cassignoli, Orange Cassidy,

(50:21):
Roderick Strong and Mascara Dorata. So the Gold League is
the stronger of the two, but Moxley and Claudia both
being in the Blue League that creates more intrigue because
each man won their match on Wednesday, Moxley beat Mascara Dorata,
Claudio beat Orange Cassidy, and this coming Wednesday, Moxley and
Claudio both members of the Death Riders, they have to

(50:42):
fight each other, which could be where they shoot the
angle finally with Moxley leaving or getting bounced out of
the Death Riders when it's over. Knowing Tony Khan, he
loves the Death Riders, so they'll have a friendly competition
and they'll just go on like nothing ever happened. But
I figured they held off on shooting the angle so
they could do it here in this tournament. Claudia, by

(51:03):
the way, he just won the CMLL World Heavyweight title
at Arena Mexico on Friday night from Grand Guerrero, ending
his three year run as champion, and that was only
Claudia's fourth match ever in a CMLL ring. So we're
going to be seeing another belt on TV this week.
But I'm liking the story potential in this year's tournament

(51:24):
more so than probably most, if not all, of the
other ones they've done so far. This one has the
greatest story potential, and not just with the death Rider stuff. Obviously,
you've got Okada in one league, You've got Takeshta in
the other, and those two are likely to meet in
the finals. You know, they've been slow cooking this for months.

(51:44):
But Okada lost to Kyle Fletcher on Dynamite. That was
the first upset of the tournament, even though Fletcher beat
him in last year's tournament also, so maybe not an
upset for some people, but I think it's smart to
have Okada fighting from behind since most everyone assumes he's
going to the finals. Any it's kind of predictable. But
Fletcher took those first three points, and then Kevin Knight

(52:05):
beat Darby Allen, which surprised me. Since Darby was coming
off a loss to Pack at Full Gear. I didn't
expect him to drop too straight. So Darby and Pack
they're in the same league, they're gonna meet again, and
that's I suspect where Darby will get his win back.
So you can't say there's no stories being told or
being furthered in the tournament. This year, they aired Collision

(52:27):
on Thanksgiving night. Pack beat Speedball to earn three points.
Knowski Takesha beat Roderick Strong to earn three of his own.
So the Gold League leaders right now are Fletcher Pack
and Kevin Knight, and the Blue League leaders right now
are max Ley, Claudio and Takeshta. You know, I just realized.
You know, Tony Kahan has these working relationships with New

(52:52):
Japan and with CMLL the top champions and these two
promotions are aw stars. Claudio has the CMLL World title
and Takeshta has the IWGP title, So aw we know
who wears the pants in this relationship. Eddie Kingston also

(53:13):
beat Kassiori Schabata on Collision. Eddie has been back a
couple of months now, and he still doesn't seem like
he's all there yet. Maybe that's why they wanted to
ease him back into things, because he really hasn't done
much of anything yet. But after his win, he cut
this tremendous promo about how he's not a character and

(53:33):
when a fan said he loved Eddie, Eddie said that
for the longest time, he believed he did not deserve
that love. But it wasn't about the fans loving him.
He said he loved the fans because they love pro wrestling.
And he said, Samoa, Joe, look at me. When I
say this, cameraman zoom in, and they zoomed in on
his face. He said, Joe, I was out for eighteen

(53:54):
months with a knee injury, and all I could think
about was being back in this ring because this ring
gives me peace. I have no peace in this life.
The only piece I have is when I'm in this
ring fighting and Joe. On December tenth, Winter is coming,
do me a favor. Don't be a pussy and defend
the title against me. Just a fantastic, just authentic babyface promo,

(54:17):
even though he called the guy a pussy, which they
did censor, but that's what he called him. But this
was just a great, authentic babyface promo. They did not
have him comment on what Hook did at Full Gear,
but they have to at some point. I mean, if
nothing else, I'm sure Hook will get involved there. That's
a bit of a loose end that needs to be
tied up. Hook basically used Eddie to throw everybody off,

(54:38):
or I think he did, because we didn't get any
explanation from Hook either about what he did to Hangman
and how all that came together at full gear. Some
other news and notes. Rick Flair has shot his mouth
off before about things that he should have just kept himself,
and sometimes he ends up having to walk things back.
He didn't so much walk back these comments as much

(54:59):
as he felt the need to clarify them on social
media after the fact, but it's probably something he should
have just kept to himself to begin with. Now, after
Hulk Hogan died in July, his death was ruled as
a result of an acute myocardial infection infarction, not this
said infection, acute myocardial infarction or basically a heart attack,

(55:22):
And it also came out that he had a history
of acute lymphocidic leukemia, which was news to a lot
of people, including his own daughter. And there was also
a lot of controversy around the next fusion surgery that
he had back in May, which is where everything went south.
That's where everything just went haywire because allegedly his frenic nerve,

(55:42):
which regulates breathing in the body. It was inadvertently severed
or compromised. I think is the word that his wife
Sky used during that procedure. It was compromised. All we
know is that Hogan went in for surgery in May
what was supposed to be a routine procedure, and he
was never seen or heard from again after that operation

(56:04):
until the day he died. To hear Rick Flair tell
it he last spoke to Hogan the day before he died.
That would be news to me if Hogan was actually
in a position to be having conversations with people right
up until the day he died, but if Flair was
close with him, so I guess, If I guess, anything's possible.
But I mention all of this because Flair was a

(56:25):
guest on the Double Coverage podcast and he said that
he believes that street drugs are what led to Hogan's death.
He said, I talked to him the day before he died.
I shouldn't say this, you know, when you have to
say that, I shouldn't say this. It's probably a good
idea not to say it. But he said, I shouldn't

(56:46):
say this, but what killed him was street drugs. When
the doctor wouldn't prescribe anymore. He was in so much pain,
and he had that next surgery and it got infected,
so back in the hospital, and then when the doctor
would not prescribe any more pain medicaid, they just couldn't
do it in all good conscience. They went and got
the drugs off the street. His body just said, you
know what, bingo, I can't do it anymore. And he

(57:09):
later added, it's all going to come out in the
media in the next thirty days.

Speaker 1 (57:13):
You'll read about it anyway. I just don't feel free to.

Speaker 3 (57:17):
Talk about it, even though that's exactly what he just did.
So what he's claiming is that Hogan was in so
much pain on a daily basis and he was all
tapped out on pain meds with his doctors, that he
saw more pain medication off the streets, not that he
was snorting cocaine or shooting up heroin or anything like that.
So this made headlines, as you figure it would, and

(57:40):
Flair felt the need to address his comments on X
doing so the only way that Rick Flair knows how,
with the first letter of every word capitalized. I don't
know what app he uses to write these tweets, but
he needs to uninstall.

Speaker 1 (57:54):
It, he said.

Speaker 3 (57:56):
There seems to be some controversy over my remarks that
street drugs killed Hulko. I was only repeating what I
know to be a fact through family members. After eleven
back surgeries, hip replacement's, knee replacements, shoulder replacement, and two
neck surgeries. I am sure the pain was unbearable. A doctor,
as I know, can only prescribe so much pain medication
under medical guidelines. I've been told that all they did

(58:19):
was to help him, not to hurt him, to help
him get through the night and the pain. Eventually that
catches up with you, as we know with everybody. He
was my friend, a man I respected, and I'm only
reporting what I had been told, nothing more, nothing less.
This was not an attempted to mean Hulk Hogan or
his legacy. I have always referred to him as being

(58:40):
one of the two biggest stars in the industry, himself
and Steve Austin. I apologize if people misunderstood my statement
Hulkamania forever. I don't think anyone misunderstood him. I think
we all understood what he was saying very clearly. But
if you consider yourself to be a friend of his,
or you know, the family is getting ready supposedly to
announce something in the next thirty days. I don't know

(59:03):
why he feels the need to be the one to
blurt it out on a random podcast like that, Like
there's a reason why his own daughter wouldn't tell him
anything about her return earlier this year because she was
worried that he would spoil it. Because he's old and
he doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut. And
the world famous Monster Factory School out of New Jersey

(59:24):
has shut down after more than four decades in operation,
and last weekend they held their final show at the
twenty three hundred Arena in Philadelphia. The Monster Factory opened
in nineteen eighty three, was run by nature Boy Buddy Rogers,
the first ever WWE champion, and Pretty Boy Larry Sharp,
and it was the first publicly accessible pro wrestling school

(59:47):
in a business that was very much closed off back then,
Like you had to know somebody or know somebody who
knew somebody to even get your foot in the door,
and then they would do everything in their power to
try to run you out. But Larry took the whole
thing over long after, and he ran it until twenty
eleven when Danny Cage, who was a Monster Factory alumni,
he bought the school from Larry Sharp because Larry's health

(01:00:09):
was on the decline and he passed away in twenty
seventeen and Danny ran the school and the promotion from
that point on, but announced a few months ago that
he had to step back as he had been diagnosed
with some serious health issues, and right after that, the
school lost its longtime home in Paulsboro, New Jersey, as

(01:00:29):
the building owner wanted to focus solely on amateur wrestling,
so without a place to train, pro Star Wrestling Academy
welcomed the Monster Factory students to continue training under Monster
Factory trainers Missy Sampson, David Goldie, and Travis Jacobs. The
final show ended with all of the championship belts being
laid down in a large Monster Factory flag being laid

(01:00:52):
over the belts and there was then a ten bell
salute with the roster surrounding the ring, and after this
another announcement was made. Monster Factory graduate David Goldie decided
to step up and announced that he would be starting
Lineage Pro Wrestling in the role of owner and head coach.
So the Monster Factory name has been retired, but it

(01:01:14):
is effectively continuing under a different name. But there have
been a ton of names to come out of the
Monster Factory over the years, from start to finish. I
mean guys like Tony Atlas, King Kong Bundy, Bam Bam Bigelow,
who really was their first famous student, I would say,
even though he only trained there for like three months.
I mean Bam BAM's rise was very quick. The Godfather

(01:01:37):
trained their Raven, Big Show, Seamus, Damian Priest, and Matt Riddle,
among others. So there's a lot of history there and
some big names have come out of that school. So
the Monster Factory itself may not be a thing anymore,
but at least it's continuing on in some form under
a different name. Let's get to your mailbag questions of

(01:02:00):
light week. In terms of news, I think we hit
all the key points, so let's dive into your questions here.
You can email me the Solo Monster at gmail dot com.
Please include your name of where you are from when
you write in. Let's start here with Alex from Milwaukee.
With all of the names revealed for the last time,
is now tournament. It's all but confirmed that Gunther is
going to be John Cena's final opponent, given that he

(01:02:22):
beat Javon Evans via TapouT on Monday. What do you
think of Gunther going through the entire tournament beating everyone
by TapouT and declaring his match would see it to
be an I quit match so that he can destroy
Seena's legacy of never giving up. This would make the
match harder to call, as Scene is undefeated in.

Speaker 1 (01:02:40):
I quit matches. I guess he's been in five.

Speaker 3 (01:02:43):
Of them, and it wouldn't really hurt Gunther to lose
since he is one of the most protected guys on
the main roster. At the same time, most retirement matches
generally end with the veteran putting over the other guy,
and given his track record of never saying no to business,
having John Cena say I quit in his last match
to being one of the most shocking finishes of all
time to ending the streak. Personally, I think this would

(01:03:06):
make for a much better match than a straightforward singles
match because there's more drama to be had with the
I quit stipulation than if it was a regular match
that ends in pinfall or passing out.

Speaker 1 (01:03:17):
But what say you? I disagree.

Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
I actually think if you take away the pinfall stipulation,
you're taking away a lot of dramatic near falls. So
I actually think it works against the drama of the match.
I would certainly not have John seen.

Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:03:32):
You're saying that John Sena should say I quit. That's
not gonna happen. John Sena is not going to submit.
He is not going to quit. It goes against everything
that character is about. And I think the idea that
he just lost its Survivor series and two and a
half weeks later he's going to go in and quit.
He's going to surrender to anybody, is just a ridiculous thought. Now,

(01:03:56):
you can make it an I quit match if you
want to, but Gunther is gonna have to say I quit.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
So I would just rather be a regular match. You
can have the drama of the near falls.

Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
Yes, we're going to get the attitude adjustment spam and so, but.

Speaker 1 (01:04:09):
You'll get those dramatic near falls.

Speaker 3 (01:04:11):
Gun there, you know, hits the power bomb and stacks
him and people think it's over, but Sena kicks out.
And then if you want to go the submission route,
you can still do that, but I would not limit
my options in a match like that. But I really
believe that Sena probably should go over in this match,
and it's not going to hurt gun Through at all
to go in there and have a competitive match with

(01:04:31):
him his last match ever, and you give John Sena
the big win. He gets to ride off into the
sunset as a winner and cap off what has been
I think it's safe to say has been a very
mixed bag as far as this retirement tour is concerned.
AJ from Greensboro, North Carolina rewatching Triple H's run leading

(01:04:52):
the Authority. I've noticed that people don't really look back
on that era fondly. The group definitely worked for Seth
Rollins and it helped highlight the rise of Daniel Bryan,
who of course mainly got over because of the fans,
and it works somewhat for John Cena around Survivor series,
but it never really succeeded in getting Roman Reigns over
the way the WWE hoped, nor did it do much
for Stings run. So did fans genuinely dislike the Authority era?

(01:05:17):
And was it really as bad as people claim? Was
the backlash more about the storytelling, the overused heel authority
figure trope, or the way certain wrestlers were booked, And
in hindsight, has that period aged any better or is
it still seen as one of WWE's weaker stretches. I
think that there's I mean there's a lot to it. Yeah,

(01:05:39):
I mean there's the trope of the heel authority figures.
But you also had fucking Kine and Big Show. I'll
never forget that Royal Rumble in twenty fifteen. What a
fucking atrocity that was. And just the sight of Cain
and Big Show dumping all of these people out of
the match that I think the fans actually liked and
wanted to buy into, whether it was Wyatt or Dolf Ziggler,

(01:06:02):
like just out and over And at that point you
knew Roman Reigns was going to win. But Roman Reigns
was not ready to be accepted by the large majority
of fans. You know, they weren't buying it. What killed
Roman for so many years is that he never got
a proper singles run as a heel. I think to
be a great babyface you first have to be a
great heel. I mean that may not be true for everybody,

(01:06:24):
but I think that's true for most people. But Vince
McMahon shows Roman right. He even put those little contact
lenses of his eyes with the big blue eyes, right.
So he had this vision for what he wanted Roman
Reigns to be, and the fans just were sick of it,
and they said, no, we don't want this. There's other
people on this roster, including Daniel Bryan, who you know,
we want to cheer for these guys. We want to

(01:06:45):
see these guys with the championship. We want to see
these guys or this guy in that position. That's really
what killed Roman Reigns for so many years until he
finally found himself as the tribal chief and he was
allowed to go heal and do this character that you
know he wants to portray, and that's where he just
took off, and the whole bloodline thing took off. So

(01:07:06):
as far as why the authority was, and I do
think a lot of people look back on the authority
not in the fondest of ways. It was a combination
of all of those things, you know, just sick of
the whole heel authority, figure Trope and some of the
people they had in that group. And look, Daniel Bryan
was never supposed to win the championship at WrestleMania thirty.

(01:07:26):
Like we've talked about this before, he said it in
his own book. Had things gone the way the WWE
wanted them to, and if the fans just shut up
and swallowed what WWE was spoon feeding them, he would
have been sixth from the top against Seamus in a
random match on that show. The only reason he ended
up in the situation he was in is because the

(01:07:47):
fans rebelled, and because the fans made their voices heard
and said no more, we don't want this, we want
this guy, and he forced their hand that and see
I'm punk leaving. Those are the two things that really
forced their hand. And in the end we got that
great WrestleMania in that great WrestleMania moment there at the end.
So the Authority had its pros and cons. I mean,
look the Survivor Series elimination match in late twenty fifteen

(01:08:11):
Team Sena against Team Authority, it really was one of
the better Survivor Series elimination matches that they've had in many,
many years. Has so much potential there with that finish
with Dolph and everything and just squandered. But so there
was some good stuff that came out of it, including
the Daniel Bryan stuff. Right, because you have a great
babyface story arc, you need a great villain, you need

(01:08:34):
an obstacle to overcome. In this case, it was the authority.
So it wasn't all bad. But do I you know,
am I compelled to go back and rewatch a lot
of stuff from that era?

Speaker 1 (01:08:44):
No? I'm really not.

Speaker 3 (01:08:46):
I don't really I don't sit here going man, you
know what I need to go back and watch over again?
The Authority? No, I don't know anybody who's saying that.
Marcellus from Maryland. Would you make the case for brock
Lesner as mister SummerSlam considering the matches that he has
had with Punk, Undertaker, Rock Cody, among others. Sure, I

(01:09:10):
mean a case can be made for it for me,
Brett Hard is mister SummerSlam, but cases can also be
made for John Cena and for brock Lesner. I mean
the matches that Lesner had with Rock, Kurt Angles, CM, Punk,
John Cena, Undertaker, the Last Man's Standing match with Roman

(01:09:30):
Reigns probably the best of all the matches they had,
the four way in twenty seventeen with Roman and Samoa
Joe and Braun Stroman. I mean, he's got one hell
of a SummerSlam resume, but so does John Cena. It's
got some competition there. Joseph from Liverpool, UK, what is

(01:09:50):
your favorite Survivor Series match? And when do you see
Drew McIntyre getting a world title run. I'm hoping he
dethrones Cody soon and faces Sammy's Ain at WrestleMania. Well,
I got some bad news for you coming out of
that show last night. A favorite Survivor Series match, if

(01:10:11):
we're talking all matches, I mean maybe Brett Hard against
Steve Austin nineteen ninety six. As far as Drew, I mean,
no idea when they're actually going to give him his run.
He should have had another one by now, But it
just doesn't feel like we're heading towards Drew and Sammy
at WrestleMania, at least not for the title. There was
a period of time many months ago where that felt possible,

(01:10:34):
and with Drew now, I mean, I've just I've given
up on trying to guess when they're going to run
with him in that spot, and Sammy's Ain is just
like Ice Cold. Right now, Sammy's ain is not going
to be in the mix at all at the top.

Speaker 1 (01:10:47):
When it comes to WrestleMania next.

Speaker 3 (01:10:48):
Year, WrestleMania in Saudi, he may be in a better spot,
but WrestleMania in Vegas, yeah, he's not going to be
in that mix. Dallas from Minnesota, I remember hearing from
Jim Cornett Rick Flair was very close to jumping ship
to I guess WWE in nineteen ninety eight, imagine that
it happened. How could you see Rick Flair in the
Attitude era? And who if anyone from that roster could

(01:11:11):
you see in a new Four Horsemen in the Attitude era? See,
I don't even like the idea of like a new
four Horsemen. I think you really you're really making a
mistake by trying to reform something that frankly can never
be topped. As far as if they I mean, if
they did have some version of the Horseman, I'm sure
Triple H would have been in there.

Speaker 1 (01:11:34):
I know.

Speaker 3 (01:11:35):
As far as other guys on the roster at that time,
I mean, I guess rock like Rock worked in the corporation,
so like that version of Rock could have worked in
like the Flair spot in a New Age horseman. But
I just wouldn't have had a new horseman. I think
that's a terrible idea. As far as Flair, if he
had gone in ninety eight, there were rumors about that.

(01:11:56):
There were rumors about Hogan too possibly jumping. That would
have been fucking disaster. As far as Steve Austin in
the Rock and their growth, what a what a fucking
terrible thing that would have been Flair going over there. Honestly,
I think, you know, with Vince Russo writing the show
and the stuff they were doing back then in the
Attitude era, Flair was never going to be pushed as

(01:12:16):
like the top guy champion. Like it would have been
dirty old man Rick Flair. It would have been like
go back and look at some of the stuff they
did with him in WCW, like in two thousand, like
when he was in the mental hospital and they made
him president for a while he lost his mind, you know,
him and the gown, remember that, Like that's probably some

(01:12:38):
version of Rick Flair he would have had in the
Attitude era, especially if Russo was writing Jerome from Sin City, USA.
Do you think SummerSlam ninety two had the potential to
have been the first triple threat match in WWE with
the Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage.

Speaker 1 (01:12:56):
And Rick Flair. Sure, yeah, I mean that would have
made sense.

Speaker 3 (01:13:01):
It would have made more sense than having a massive
card like that and not having Rick Flair in an
actual match.

Speaker 1 (01:13:07):
That was fucking weird.

Speaker 3 (01:13:09):
Plus they ended up changing the title back to Flair anyway,
like a week or two later at a TV taping.
They could have had him win it back at SummerSlam,
but then I don't think they closed the show with
Breton Davey Boy. If they have a triple threat match
for the championship and they do a title change on
that show, there's no way that Breton.

Speaker 1 (01:13:25):
Davey Boy headlined that show.

Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
Alex from Plymouth, I wanted to ask if you have
any memories of the Rolling Stones One More Shot pay
per view that WWE produced in twenty twelve. It was
promoted heavily on WWE programming and at the end of
the pay per view that had a WWE logo? Did
you seek it out by any chance? Is there a
band that you would order a pay per view from
if WWE was involved somehow?

Speaker 1 (01:13:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:13:52):
Not Deaf Rebel. Well today I learned that WWE produced
a Rolling Stones pay per view in twenty twelve, because
first of hearing of this, I mean you mentioned that
it was advertised heavily on their TV shows. I have
no memory of this. I didn't know that was a
thing that happened. I know they produced The Girls Gone
Wild pay per view many years ago. I've talked about that,

(01:14:13):
but no, I didn't see it. And even if I
knew about it, I'm not really that big of a
Rolling Stones fan that I'm gonna go seeking out a
pay per view of them. But if there was a
band that I would order a pay per view from,
if WWE produced it, and it's got to be a
Hall and Oates baby, come on a Hall and Oates
produced pay per view, how could I not buy that?

(01:14:36):
Temsin from New York City. Has there been any dream
matches that have met or exceeded your expectations and are
there any that left you feeling underwhelmed or disappointed? Yes,
and yes, Sean Michaels and Kurt Angle at WrestleMania twenty
one that met and exceeded my expectations. That is one

(01:14:59):
of the greatest matches I've ever seen. Rock Hogan, the
first one to WrestleMania eighteen that exceeded my expectations. Brock
Lesner and Daniel Brian at Survivor Series. I never thought
it would happen, you know, with Brian's health and he
had been out for so long. I just thought that
ship had sailed a long time ago. And they went

(01:15:20):
out there and they had as great of a match
as I always knew they would. Brian Danielson against Kenny
Omega at the first aw Grand Slam. That was great,
even though it went to a time let me draw.
On the other hand, the first Brian Danielson Kazuchka Okata
match at Forbidden Door, it was still a really good match.

(01:15:41):
I still felt underwhelmed when it was over because the
expectations for it were just so sky high. And then
they went and they gave us the match that I
was expecting at the Tokyo Dome six months later. But
that first match, I would be lying if I said
I wasn't at least a little underwhelmed by what we
got there.

Speaker 1 (01:15:59):
And play to Danielson. He broke his arm in that match.

Speaker 3 (01:16:03):
Wrestled like the last ten minutes with a broken arm.

Speaker 1 (01:16:08):
What else? Oh, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:16:09):
But the the Tokyo domb match though, that they had
that didn't even go thirty minutes. That was probably the
most shocking part about it. An Okata match in the
Tokyo Dome that didn't even go half an hour. But
it didn't have to. I mean, they packed a classic
into twenty minutes and it was great.

Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
Hogan.

Speaker 3 (01:16:28):
I mean, how can I not mention Hogan in sting
at Stark ninety seven. I mean, that's right there at
the top of the list of massive disappointments. They built
that up for so long, two big stars, they built
it up for eighteen months, and they fucked it up.
Aj Styles against Shinsky Nakamoor WrestleMania thirty four. That's another

(01:16:48):
why I was there for that one. You watched their
Wrestle Kingdom match from just a few years earlier, and
then you watched their WrestleMania match and it's like two
different people out there. Brock Lesner against Bobby la Actually,
that was a mesh that I was clamoring for for
years and years, and then we got it two times, right,
three times? I forget how many times. I think three times.

(01:17:09):
But they all sucked. I'm sorry, but they all sucked.
The last one brought out disqualified, and then they just
moved on from it, which honestly was probably for the
best tall from Israel. Have you ever heard the story
of Kevin Nash and the boulder thrown at him during
spring break at Panama City? If so, do you know

(01:17:29):
anything about it or what happened afterward? Yes, So it
was not a boulder. He would be dead.

Speaker 1 (01:17:36):
If somebody threw a boulder at him. It was a rock.

Speaker 3 (01:17:39):
So they had some of the nWo guys on MTV
spring Break from Panama City. It wasn't an episode of
Nitro or anything like that, because they did those spring
break episodes, but this was an MTV thing. Haul and Nash,
they're up on stage. It's like they're on the beach.
There's a bunch of college kids and the audience and
they're up on stage and Nash gets hit with a rock.

(01:18:02):
And first of all, why you would throw a rock
at a seven foot Kevin Nash in probably his prime?

Speaker 1 (01:18:09):
I have no idea.

Speaker 3 (01:18:10):
You would have to be drunk off your ass to
do that, or Scott Hally even, I mean, those are
some big dudes. I don't know why you would do
something like that. Now, Nash didn't see who did it,
but everybody around the kid is eyeballing him. So he
figures out who it is pretty quick and he makes
a beeline for this kid. He jumps off the stage

(01:18:31):
and he didn't tear his quad too. I know there's
a quad joke in there somewhere. He jumps off the stage.
He's probably running on sand, and he tackles him to
the ground and you can see him because he's all
on video, and you could see him in the video
rear back with I think his right hand like he's
going to open hand this kid, but he never does.
He just restrains him, and cops or security or whoever

(01:18:53):
they come over and they take him away, and he
ended up pressing charges on the kid. He claims the
kid went to jail for nine months because I guess
they got him on some other charges disorderly conduct or whatever.
So he claims the kid did nine months basically for
being an asshole. So then at some point the kid's
father sues Nash, and Nash doesn't even get his own

(01:19:18):
lawyer involved. He just calls up the guy's lawyer directly,
and he says, you do realize, like this kid was arrested, right,
you do realize that, like he went to jail and
everything for this, And evidently the father never clued the
lawyer in on this, and so Nash offers to settle
for one dollar, which the lawyer accepts because Nash said,

(01:19:41):
like he goes, is that it? He goes, Yeah, one dollar,
that's it. You don't want to do it, that's fine,
I have the money. I will I will take you
to court. I will sue you. I will take everything
that you own if that's how you want to play this.
But I'm willing to settle for one dollar. So he
settled for one dollar, and I think he had to
send the kid a letter or something.

Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
I don't know what for.

Speaker 3 (01:20:02):
He's got nothing to apologize for, but he sent him
a letter, I think, written in like red crayon. So
that was the spring Break incident with Kevin Nash. Like,
imagine having the audacity to sue the guy that you
threw a rock at, who could have literally pounded you
into the sand, and showed great restraint in not doing so.

(01:20:23):
I would have been tempted to smack him around a
little bit myself, but I'm also not the size of
Kevin Nash. Kevin Nash smacking someone around is a lot
worse says a lot about that kid's parents by the
way that they did that. Dion from Birmingham. I was
watching some old Jay Lethal in TNA from around twenty
ten and it got me thinking, why do you think

(01:20:44):
WWE has never shown interest in signing him? Well, I mean,
according to Jay Lethal, there was interest at one time.
There were a few times where they may have had interest,
but because I guess of his contract status, he wasn't available,
so it wasn't possible what years that would have been.
But I agree, I mean, he would have been a
good fit for them, even if they just used him
for more of the comedy aspects of what he was

(01:21:07):
doing in TNA, like the Blackbacheese most stuff. They were
never going to let him do that, but he could
have been a solid mid card guy for them, because
there's no way Vince McMahon would have ever seen him
as anything more than that. But I've also heard him
say that he became world champion and Ring of Honor
and he became the face of Ring of Honor, and
you know he works so hard to get that spot.

(01:21:29):
Why give that up? To try to go see what
might happen in this other place where they may not
treat him the same way. You know, some guys are
driven by those three initials. It's their dream to make
it to WWA. WWE does a very good job of
selling this idea of they're the biggest and best and
everyone aspires to get there. So it's the dream, like

(01:21:51):
you want to be a part of WWA, like it's
some sort of magical kingdom. And other guys are just
content to reach the pinnacle somewhere else and become the
face and become the world champion elsewhere and make good
enough money that they don't have to go work for
WWE if they don't want to. And that's what Jay
Lethal was able to attain now. He was also or

(01:22:13):
He also in the email asked me about Chris Masters.
Masters is still wrestling. He is someone who got too
much too soon, and he wasn't ready for the spot
they put him in. But because Vince loved his body,
oh he had this great physique, he put him on
TV right away. He put him on TV way too soon,
and when that didn't work out, that was it. He

(01:22:35):
was like damage Goods, which was very unfair to Chris Masters.
They did bring him back a few years later, and
he was actually a better wrestler at that point, but
he was also physically smaller. He was not whatever he
was doing the first time, he was no longer doing it,
but they never seriously pushed him again.

Speaker 1 (01:22:52):
That's what's so sad about it.

Speaker 3 (01:22:53):
He came back and he was a better performer, but
he was never booked in any kind of serious position,
and then they got rid of him. Matt from Saint
John's Newfoundland, Canada by rent Or sell On. Which of
these men's hatred towards another person is or was bigger?
Iron Sheik's hatred of Hulk Hogan, Jim Cornet's hatred of

(01:23:16):
Vince Russo, Brett Hard's hatred of Bill Goldberg. I mean
there's only one to buy here. This is just the
obvious one, which is Coronet's hatred of Vince Russo. I
mean he has literally threatened to murder this man. He
has threatened to and dreamt about killing Vince Russo. I
don't think it gets any more, you know, you talk

(01:23:38):
about hatred. I don't think it gets any hotter than that.
So I'm going to buy on Cornet's hatred of Russo
I'll rent on Brett's hatred if that's even the right
word for it towards Goldberg Brett. Look, here's the thing
with Brett. Brett clearly leans into it like he knows
it's become like a running gag, it's become a I'm

(01:24:00):
not saying he doesn't believe what he says, but he
definitely has fun with it, which is why he never
misses an opportunity if he's talking about something to just
slip a Bill Goldberg mentioned in there, because he knows
it's gonna pop people. So I'll rent on that, and
I'll sell on the Sheikh's hatred for Hogan. We got

(01:24:21):
Dolphin v tuber is Rick Flair and Shawn Michaels the
best WrestleMania moment ever with I'm Sorry, I Love You,
Absolutely not. The greatest WrestleMania moment of all time is
still Hogan slamming Andre at WrestleMania three. Like there has
not been a bigger WrestleMania moment since then. That that

(01:24:44):
is the WrestleMania moment, And even if it wasn't, that
can't be the greatest WrestleMania moment. In a world where
Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth reuniting exists at WrestleMania seven.
So to answer your question.

Speaker 1 (01:24:57):
No, it is not.

Speaker 3 (01:24:59):
Mister ro from Alexander City, Alabama. Buy or sell on
which world title has less value in today's wrestling, the
NWA World Title or the Ring of Honor World Title. Well,
considering I don't even know who the current NWA World
Champion is, I'll buy on that one is having the
least value. At least I know Bandido is the Ring

(01:25:20):
of Honor World Champion. I have no idea who has
the NWA title right now. I don't have a clue.
Carlos from San Juan, Puerto Rico. I have a non
wrestling question. I know you're a fan of John Carpenter's
The Thing and the Cloverfield franchise. Both started out as
great movies but had lackluster sequels. My question is do

(01:25:42):
you think these two of This question is making my
blood boil here? Do you think these two franchises deserve
a movie or a TV show to wrap up or
expand the universe, or do you think it's best to
leave them alone? Okay, so first I have to correct
you because you're wrong. Neither one of those movies ever
had a sequel. I don't know where you got that from.
There have been other movies made, they were not sequels. Okay,

(01:26:06):
so let's put that to bed first. The thing, Okay,
Carpenter's version had a prequel made, but never a sequel,
Although he just said a few weeks together, they're working
on a script for one. It's been forty three years.
I don't know if it's ever gonna get made, but
that's what he's claiming. Cloverfield never had a proper sequel.

Speaker 1 (01:26:25):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:26:26):
What they did was they slapped the Cloverfield name on
a bunch of movies that had no direct connection to
the original whatsoever. Nor are they ever going to be
able to explain how they all tied together, because they don't.
We got to see the monster at least in the
last five seconds of the Cloverfield paradox. Okay, but don't
mistake those for sequels. They are not sequels. And it

(01:26:48):
angers me greatly because we should have gotten a sequel
a long time ago, sequel, prequel something. We should have
had something many many years ago. Now supposedly there is
a sequel, a proper sequel in development right now. Okay,
it's been almost twenty years since the first one came out,
and I feel like anything they do now is just
going to be a disappointment. They've just been stringing us

(01:27:10):
along for so long. I'll believe it when I see
that it even gets made. I feel like it's been
in production for fucking five years now. But the thing
I don't think needs a sequel. I think the vague
ending to the first one is perfect. It's the perfect
ending where you don't know for sure if MacCready or
Childs is the thing, right, just leave it alone. Not

(01:27:31):
that I wouldn't watch it if they made a sequel,
I probably would, but I would leave well enough alone
on that Cloverfield absolutely deserves a proper sequel or a prequel. Anyway,
Keep emailing me the Solemn Monster at gmail dot com
if you missed it again. A full Survivor series review

(01:27:52):

last few days, but I am thankful for all of
you and all of your continued support. Now in eighteen

The Solemn Monster sounds off.

Speaker 3 (01:29:18):
So you got Moxley on one side, you got Darby
on the other. Moxley said, look, I did what I
could for Danielson, but this is a war for the
future of the sport and for their crazy you know
they're running what is it with these Shield guys. You
know here on this show you've got John Moxley forming
his own faction, coming out every week and talking about
the future of the industry, the future of the company, the.

Speaker 1 (01:29:39):
Future of the sport.

Speaker 3 (01:29:40):
You got Seth Rollins on the other show, forming his
own faction and coming out and basically doing the same thing.
I'm fighting for the future, right, everything is so epic,
Like this match that you and I are about to have, Cody,
it's a fight for the future of this company.

Speaker 1 (01:29:52):
Like, fuck off, what is this nonsense?

Speaker 3 (01:29:54):
I don't recall like Stone Cold or The Rock or
The Undertaker coming out of television every week for John,
Cito or rand And even if you want to use
a different era as an exam coming out on television
and cutting these fucking boring promos on television every single week,
over and over and over again about the same fucking shit.

Speaker 1 (01:30:09):
We gotta save the future of the company. How about
you worry about yourself?

Speaker 3 (01:30:12):
How about worrying about the here and now and not
fucking five or ten years from now?

Speaker 1 (01:30:15):
What is it with these Shield guys?

Speaker 3 (01:30:16):
At least Roman Reigns doesn't give a fuck about the
future he comes out, he just cares about himself. I
respect that, fuck everybody else.

Speaker 2 (01:30:22):
