Speaker 1 (00:00):
Tonight was the finals of the John Cena Last Time
Is Now tournament that has been playing out over the
last several weeks. It all came down to Gunther on
one side, La Knight on the other. And if you
were hoping that La Knight would finally get a big win,
he would be going to wrestle John Cena in Washington,
(00:20):
d C. I really don't know why you would think that.
The think part of the problem with La Knight fans
is that they just constantly let themselves down in situations
where they should know better. La Knight was never winning
this match tonight. He never stood a chance. In fact,
it could have been anybody on the other side of
the ring. It could have been Penta, It could have
been Jravon Evans if the tournament was a little bit different.
(00:42):
They did that in the finals, It could have been anybody.
All they were doing was fighting for the right to
lose to Gunther, which is what happened tonight. John Cena
will wrestle Gunther on Saturday Night's main event. He will
be John Cena's last ever opponent December thirteenth, where now
t minus eight days away. They had a good match
(01:06):
in the main event. In fact, Gunther had all the
best matches in this tournament, four matches, all four of
them really good. You may rank them differently, but he
was the standout performer really of what was otherwise a
very underwhelming tournament that should have been a lot more
exciting than it ended up being. But thankfully we had Gunther,
(01:28):
and like I said tonight, they had a good match
in the main event, but the outcome was just preordained,
and not just because Dave Meltzer reported it several weeks ago,
but because it should have been obvious once you looked
at who was in this tournament, who was going to
be the last man standing at the end. And so
now the question turns to what happens next weekend, because
when this show was over tonight, Gunther made it very clear.
(01:48):
He looked into the camera and not only did he
say he's going to beat John Cena, he said he's
going to make John Cena do the one thing that
John Cena has never done since he turned Babyface all
those many years ago. Tap out. It goes against his
entire mantra, It goes against everything that John Cena stands for. Right,
(02:09):
never give up. He has promised to make John Cena
give up. That is the story now going into his
final match next weekend. Is John Cena going to actually
give up in his final match? Does he gets right
off into the sunset with a wind? Does Gunther repeat
his performance from July when he retired Bill Goldberg his
(02:31):
favorite wrestler of all time? By the way, on Saturday
Night's main event, Do we have a repeat here at
the end of this year? That is now the story
as we head into next weekend. The other thing also
is tying into next weekend, Cody Rhodes has a big
match on that show. But Cody Rhoades also wants Drew
McIntyre reinstated. He was very clear in that demand tonight,
(02:54):
and there was no decision made on the part of
Nick Aldos as far as how that's going to go,
although I have a sense of what's going to happen
here when we may be seeing this match. But beyond
his request for reinstatement of Drew McIntyre, Cody Rhoades also
personally made the announcement tonight that he is going to
be wrestling on Saturday Night's Main event next weekend against
(03:15):
whoever walks out of NXT deadline tomorrow night as the
NXT champion, whether it be Ricky Saints or Oba Femei,
both of whom made a cameo appearance backstage tonight on SmackDown.
One of those two men will be wrestling, obviously non
title the WWE Champion next weekend, which is a huge
(03:36):
spot for either one of them to be in. I
have a sense of which one of them I think
it's going to be in, which one I think it
should be. But at least now we're fine, I mean
we kind of have to. We're a week away finally
getting some announcements filling out the rest of that card
next week. I don't know how many matches there's going
to be. It's the Triple h eras, so probably four.
(03:57):
But we also have another match, a women's match WWE
versus NXT that is now official for next week and
I'll tell you guys what that is. We had another
United States Championship Open challenge tonight after we missed out
on one last week with Ilia Dragonoff. We had a
(04:17):
showdown between the Wyatts and the MFTs, which has been
teased for a while. And then if you watched the
end of SmackDown last week you saw Uncle Howdie layout
solo Socoa with a sister Abigail, so you knew, you
knew that we would have some sort of follow up
(04:38):
to that this week, and we did. They still have
no earthly idea what to do with Jade Cargill as
the women's division on this show continues to suffer and
limp into twenty twenty six as we head into three
hours of SmackDown, And I look back at this show,
we had two matches that are really worth going of
(05:00):
your way to watch if you were going to check
out SmackDown, the opening match and the closing match. So
the US title match was good, the main event was good.
Everything else on this show very average, very average fare
from SmackDown tonight. Only a few weeks left before we
head back to three hours on Friday nights. I sure
(05:22):
do hope they got a good plan, especially with the
women's division. They need something. This is your Friday Night
SmackDown review. It is December fifth, twenty twenty five. I
am the Solemn Monster. Thank you for rounding out your
week with me. I've been hearing from you guys all
week since you got your Spotify rapped, and I don't
(05:45):
know if what's YouTube calling. I know YouTube is doing
a similar thing. Now, you guys have sent me some stuff.
I don't think it's called wrapped, but the sound off
has been a top many a list and I appreciate that.
I love that. I love seeing that, and hopefully we
will be able to carry all that into twenty twenty six.
You will join me then as well, but for now,
hit the like button on this video. Four hundred likes
(06:07):
is the minimum to be the booker tonight. We do
have a bonus goal going on in the chat as well.
Super chats are open. I'll be reading your comments a
little bit later on here in the stream, and we
are getting close. We are inching towards ninety thousand subscribers
here on the channel, so a little push towards ninety
k at the beginning of the new year would be
(06:28):
very cool. Sheriff of Patty says, a top three podcast
for him this year, Yes, but where in the top
three do we fall? Thank you, brother. Let's start from
the top here. We open with highlights of Survivor series
and shots of various people arriving to the building as
(06:51):
we do every single week, including La Knight, who was
wearing a cowboy hat since they were in Texas tonight,
And we also had a show out of Gunther walking backstage.
Of course that was our main event tonight. Then we
cut to Drew McIntyre pulling up to the building backstage
in an suv and he gets out. He is greeted
(07:11):
by I can't even call it a welcome party, it's
the unwelcome party of Nick All this and a bunch
of security geeks and all this reminds Drew that you
are still suspended. The only reason you were allowed to
compete in wargames is because Paul Hayman found a little loophole.
But now that Wargames is over, you're gone. You don't
(07:34):
belong here. And Drew tried to deplete his case. All this
wasn't having any of it, told him to get back
in his car and leave. So Drew relented, and Drew said,
the only people you're punishing here, you're punishing me, You're
punishing the fans. So he gets back in the car.
But when he gets back in the car, Cody Rhoades
is in the I guess the passenger see or he
(07:54):
reached into the car from the passenger side and he
begins to attack Mac and tire. He starts gouging at
his eye. Cody was still very irate over McIntyre attacking
him on his bus a few weeks ago, so Drew
made his exit. After that, The camera followed a very
(08:15):
angry Cody Rhoades through the backstage area as he marched
towards the Gorilla position, through Gorilla and out to the ring,
and they played his music, but he was in no
mood to pause for the woe or celebrate or anything
like that. He made a bee line for the ring.
He wanted a microphone. He said McIntyre broke an unwritten
(08:35):
rule by invading his tour bus. That's the place where
his wife sleeps and his children play. He called McIntyre
WWE's resident cockroach and pointed out that Drew has never
beaten him, but he may have been the first to
break him. So he begged Nick all this, please Nick,
reinstate him, reinstate Drew McIntyre so that he could do
(08:59):
what everyone does to hawkroaches. He's going to stomp him out.
And the fans cheered, and that was it. It was short,
it was sweet. It was a nice fire here from
Cody selling the anger. He didn't seem that angry to
me though when he showed up at War Games and
was wrestling with dravacintyre. But it's almost like that didn't
(09:19):
even happen. And this was like the follow up to
the angle on the bus from a few weeks ago.
But he was very angry and very uh, just full
of piss and vinegar here in this segment. So they're
going to do Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre again, which
supposedly was the original plan for Survivor series until Jacob
(09:41):
faughtu got hurt. That's how Austin Theory got bounced out
of a War Games match, and they added Cody Andrew
to the War Games teams, and that made sense because
they needed people, right you're gonna have five on five,
you need people. So now they're gonna do at least
one more match with Cody Andrew and there there's literally
no reason to run this match back again unless Drew
(10:07):
McIntyre is leaving with the WWE Championship. There's no reason, like,
there's no reason to do this match unless they are
doing a title change. That's it. So the question is
when now you got Saturday Night's main event next week,
and obviously it's not happening there, nor should it. Cody's
already got a match. But even if you didn't doing
(10:29):
Cody and Drew on that show, I feel, especially if
there is going to be a title change, I feel
like that deserves its own spotlight. It would be overshadowed
by John Cena. Next weekend is about John Cena. We're
gonna get some other matches, but it's about Sena. And
that's one of the reasons why, you know, people were like,
oh man, if Seamus didn't get hurt, Seamus should have
(10:51):
won the tournament and it should have been seen it
and Seamus had seen it kept the Intercontinental title right,
and they hit in their minds they had booked this
scenario where you can do one more Scena shamous match
and Seamus finally wins the IC title, but he wins
it from John Cena. What a big moment for him.
And I'm like, no, because it's not about him. It's
(11:13):
about Sena. When Shamus finally gets that moment, I don't
want it to be on a night that's dedicated and
focused on John Cena. I want Seamus to have that
moment to himself, you know, whether it's WrestleMania or whatever
event it may be. So as much as I would
have loved to have seen them have one more match,
(11:34):
that that to me would have been the wrong you know,
venue for that to happen. But as far as the
match with Cody and Drew, you know, we know CM
punk is defending the World Championship against bron Breaker on
that first raw here in Brooklyn, that first raw of
the new year, January fifth, So to me, it would
make sense that if Raw has one big championship match
(11:56):
to open twenty twenty six, then so should SmackDown. That's
probably how they see it. So I'm guessing that the
first SmackDown of the new year will probably be where
Cody wrestlers Drew or Drew is reinstated. You know, that's
gonna be his first match back. So what is that
January second, I believe is the first WWE show of
(12:18):
the new year. I think that would be the likely
place where we get that championship match between those two.
And again I feel very strongly about Drew McIntyre needs
to win the title because if not, I don't want
to see the match. I don't want to see him
just go in there and lose again. I've already seen
(12:38):
it multiple times. I don't see what's gained from doing
it again. If he wins the title, it's like, okay,
well then what sure, He's probably not gonna have it
for very long. I don't even care at this point.
He just needs to win it. He just needs a win, right.
He was part of the winning team in War Games,
but I mean, come on for other guys on the team.
(13:01):
But again, in my mind, there's literally no reason to
do the match unless they are planning on doing a
title change, plain and simple. That's it. New WWE Champion
Drew McIntyre, and then you could get the belt back
on Cody in time for him to do whatever it
is that he's going to do at WrestleMania. I don't
even care what it is. Tamaso Champa, Johnny Gargano, and
Candice Loray were backstage just talking among themselves. Champa is
(13:25):
still gunning for Ilia Dragonov in the US title. When
Carmelo Hayes walked right past them, but he stopped in
his tracks because he overheard them talking about this, and
he said that he had next for the US title,
and just based on the look on Shampa's face, you
knew that probably was not going to end very well
(13:46):
for Carmelo Hayes. We got yet another video promo from
Damian Priest. I feel like that's all we've been getting
from him, is just a bunch of video promos. How
many of these have we seen? Back and forth with
him and Alistair Black, not a lot of action recently,
but he said that if Black got to bring his
(14:07):
family in the form of Zelena Vega, and then it's
only fair that Priest brings his family in. And so
who walks in but Ria Ripley face mask and all.
She walks in from the Shadows cuts a little promo here,
talks about the Terror Twins facing off with Black and
Vega on the show next week, and that is official.
(14:28):
It will be Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest taking on
Alistair Black and Zelena Vega in a mixed tag team
match next week on the show. How do I view this?
I view this as Damian Priest has gone so cold
since coming to SmackDown that they have resorted to bringing
in Rhea Ripley, who's always super over wherever she is,
(14:49):
to help warm him back out. When Priest initially left
the judgment day, they were doing a lot of this
Terror Twins stuff. He and Rhea worked together a lot
on TV and they were super over. Rhea continues to
be super over. Damian Priest is not Damian Priest. The
(15:10):
trail has gone cold for Damian Priest on Friday nights.
So that's how I read this. I saw Ria step in,
I said, ah, I see what we're doing here. He
needs a little help, so let's bring Ria into help
give him the rub and try to get him back
on the right track. That's what I think is going
on here. We had another open challenge with Ilya Dragonov
(15:34):
defending the United States Championship after taking last week off.
His opponent Carmelo Hayes, who I believe wrestled Sammy's Ain
earlier on in these open challenges for the US title
in a losing effort. The match got off to a
quick start on the top rope. Hayes was stunned, which
(15:54):
opened him up for a big boot from Dragonov, which
sent him crashing down to the floor outside. He was
selling that he tweaked his knee upon landing. The match
came back from commercial, with Hayes falling victim to a
pair of German soup plexes. They engaged in a striking duel.
Hayes avoided the Constantine special. He hit Draggonov with a
great springboard clothesline, and Hayes followed that up with a
(16:17):
tilted oorl facebuster that got a I thought he was
going for the La Mystica. Maybe that's what it was,
but it was a tilted oorild facebuster here got a
close near fall out of it. People were really behind
Hayes at this point. This is where they were really
engaging in the match. Mello attempted the first forty eight,
but he got caught and dropped on his back by Dragonov.
(16:38):
Hayes blocked the h bomb by getting his knees up.
Then Draggonov kicked Hayes in the side of his head.
He dropped him with a standing urinagi. The champion headed
up top. He got sent outside though by a running kick,
and as the champion got up on the apron, Hayes
dropped him with a DDT on the apron and Dragonov
just sold this like he broke his on the way
(17:01):
down and he fell to the floor. Outside. That looked great.
Hayes got him back in the ring very quick because
he knew he had to capitalize here, and he heads
up top and he's setting up for we presume nothing
but net, which is his finish, while the referee was
checking on Dragonov after that DDT spot. He's checking on
(17:23):
Dragonov in the ring. He did not see, nor did
Dragonov to Mosso Champa gets up on the apron and
he crouches Hayes on the top rope, and that led
to Dragonov connecting with the Torpedo Moscow, or, as Michael
Cole called an uncommentary before correcting himself, the Tornado Moscow.
(17:43):
Either way, I guess whichever use, whichever way you want
to call it, I'll continue to call it Torpedo Moscow.
Michael Cole can call it tornado if he wishes, and
then he followed that up with an h bomb for
the Wind to retain the championship. As Dragonov was leaving,
they were showing a replay of what happened. He reacted
in anger from the unwonted assist from Tomaso Champa, which
(18:08):
again the announcer sold that he didn't see it. He
didn't know and he wasn't very happy about it, so
you know, they telegraphed the Champa interference with that backstage
segment earlier on. But this is another really good entry
here in the Open Challenge series. A great sign though,
even though he lost again, A great sign for Carmelo
(18:30):
Hayes as far as the fans getting behind him here
as loudly as they did. Hopefully it's a sign that
the crowds are really coming around, consistently coming around on
him as a babyface, and that he may yet win
the championship one of these days. I don't know that
this Open Challenge is going to end with him winning
(18:51):
the title, but whether it's the Open Challenge and Dragonov
or at somebody else, the destination should ultimately be to
get that title on him, you know, unless they're going
to call up someone from NXT. I mean, I had
floated previously the idea of like an Obafemi getting the
call up and then having just like a dominant run
(19:11):
as the United States Champion. Failing something like that, Carmelo
Hayes really could use a solid run with that top
mid card title on that show, and hopefully, you know,
he'll be able to get something like that. But the
thing that I also realize here, I'm watching this and
I realize it's been many weeks. It feels to me
like they have just scrapped the Hayes and Miz feud.
(19:34):
We never even got a match. I just feel like
it's been weeks since we've had any sort of interaction
with them or forward movement. Hayes is sort of off
doing his own thing. Miz. We saw miss on the show.
Later in the show, he was, you know, bitching about
not being booked next weekend. No mention to Mellow, So
I mean, they could always circle back around to it,
(19:55):
but it just feels to me like that may have
been scrapped. I'm not going to cry about it. I'm
not going to tell you that I'm terribly sad about it,
but it was something that was built up over a
period of months, so it's kind of surprising that we
haven't gotten anything new from it. In the back, Charlotte
Flair and Alexa Bliss, they were interviewed about War Games.
(20:17):
They talked about how it made their bond even stronger,
but now it's time to get back to the business
of regaining their women's tag team titles. And it would
begin tonight when Alexa Bliss beats Kyrie Saine. Elsewhere, Kathy
Kelly interviewed La Knight about his match with Gunther later tonight,
coming off two matches in this tournament with mystery opponents right,
(20:40):
the first one was against Matt Cardona, then Seamus got
hurt had to be replaced, so he ended up with
a miz So he actually knows his opponent now well.
In advance tonight, he said he doesn't care about the
opponents that he's faced before. The one thing that matters
is beating John Cena to cement his legacy. Gunther was
standing in his way and go through is going to
(21:00):
get dropped on his head later tonight, like all the rest.
La Night is very good at cutting promos and letting
us know all the terrible things he's going to do
to people, and then go out there and he doesn't
really deliver. And after a while, especially when you're a babyface,
(21:21):
you're making all these promises that you can't keep. It's
not good. It's not good. You start to develop a
reputation for being that guy who can't go out there
and finish the job. And I feel like that's where
we've been. Actually, that's where we've been for a while,
but that's where we are now. With La Knight. We
(21:42):
had Alexa Bliss against Kyrie, saying outside the ring early
Kyrie tried to walk off. Charlotte was there, though she
stopped her, which allowed Oscar to trip up Bliss on
the apron. Kyrie then slammed Alexa against the barricade as
they went to a commercial break. They came back with
Bliss and saying they were fighting get out on the
top rope. It was a headbut from Kyrie that put
(22:03):
Bliss in a tough spot, but Kyrie took advantage with
a double stomp onto a prone Bliss for a near fall.
Bliss mounted a comeback followed by a modified natural selection.
Osca got up on the apron, so Charlotte tripped her
up and took her down with a big boot. Back
in the ring, Kyrie had Bliss in position for the
(22:24):
insane elbow, but when she jumped off the top rope,
Alexa got up and she caught her in position for
the Sister Abigail DDT, and she dropped her and pinned her.
So Alexa Bliss picks up the wind here after the
map big pot for the finish. By the way, after
the match, Lash Legend and Nya Jacks they show up.
(22:46):
They attack Bliss and Flare from behind. As they turned
their attention to a fallen Kyrie in the corner, Osca
tried to fight back. She got in the ring, she
starts throwing shots. She ends up getting dropped by Nya
jackx ky He got involved, she ended up being taken down.
She actually ate a boot from lash Legend and then
(23:08):
she got dragged to the corner in position for the annihilator,
but Oscar reached in and pulled her out to safety
before Naya could come down on top of her, which
would have been just curtains for poor Kyrie. Kyrie has
a history in the ring, by the way, with Naya
Jacks that has not gone well for her. That was
many years ago. That was many years ago. But had
(23:29):
she taken an annihilator, that may have been the end
of poor Kyrie sing. So she'll live to fight another day.
The match here, I thought this was fine, you know,
solid stuff from these two. Kyrie never wins. Actually, I
think the last time I could remember her winning a
match it might have been on my birthday. So that
was what two months ago, two and a half months ago,
something like that. I guess two months ago, but it
(23:51):
just felt like Alexa was gonna win right there. The challengers.
It's a way to build up the Challengers as they
prepared to challenge for the titles again soon. The way
Raw ended on Monday night, I talked about this in
my Raw review the post show, it put an emphasis
on this women's tag team division in a way that
they really have not done in a very long time.
(24:12):
And you saw all of these different teams, and that's
not even all of them that we saw, because you
could come up with one or two from SmackDown, You
can come up with a couple from NXT, because those
titles can be defended across all three brands. So all
of a sudden, you know, we're in a position where
we have all of these different teams. We actually have
a real division here. But it's kind of weird, like,
(24:35):
especially on Monday, like we have not had a focus,
especially they closed the show with it on the women's
tag team division like this in forever, so like why now?
But it just so happens to come at a time
when AEW is in the middle of a tournament to
crown their first ever women's tag team champions. So there's
a lot of emphasis lately on the women's tag team
(24:57):
championship picture in both companies. But again, there was a
spotlight shown on it here in WWE in a way
that has not been done in a while, and so
here they didn't close the show with this. But this
is just continuing on the issues between all of these teams.
I don't know if that means we're gonna get a
triple threat match. I don't know where that's going to go.
(25:18):
But a lot of teams in contention for those titles.
And look, if you're gonna have women's tag team titles,
then you should build up competition for those titles. But
I'll be honest with you, I kind of wish that
the WWE tag team titles were treated the same way
as the women's tag team titles, and that we had
one set and you could have challengers across all three
(25:38):
brands it was tribranded, and then maybe we would be
talking about, Wow, look at all the competition in the
men's division for the tag team titles instead of having
two separate sets of championships where individually the divisions are
not as strong as they would be if they were
paired together. That's my issue with the tag team titles
(26:00):
men's side right now. SmackDown had a booming division earlier
in the year, and now that's gone cold. Raw I
enjoyed the work that we've seen from aj Styles and
Dragon Lee, love that finish against the New Day in
their match on Monday Night, But I can't sit here
and tell you that there's a whole lot of competition
(26:20):
in that division either. So it's the one time you'll
ever hear me say this that I wish the men's
tag team titles were treated as the women's tag team
titles are in this company. That would be nice. We
go backstage, Cody Rhodes meets with Nick all This, and
he had calmed down from earlier. He told Nick all right,
I've calmed down all this, asked him, are you ready
(26:43):
to do this? And so they walked into all This's
office and we see that standing there in the office
is the NXT champion, Ricky Saints and his challenger, his
number one contender a deadline tomorrow night, the former champion,
the ruler, Oba Femi. So they walk in and all
(27:05):
this lets Cody break the news that in the spirit
of what John Cena wanted to see. On Saturday Night's
main event, he revealed that the winner of the match
a deadline this weekend between Ricky and Oba is going
to be wrestling him in DC next weekend. And then
they left and Ricky and Oba, they came face to face,
(27:26):
we had a little stare down and that's how that ended.
That's big, that's a big deal. That means we're getting
a champion against champion. Obviously non title, but we're getting
a champion against champion WWE versus NXT exhibition, as John
Cena called it on Saturday Night's main event. And this
is exactly what I was hoping for when Sena made
(27:49):
that initial announcement that we would get some some big
matches like that. Cody and Ricky as tight as those
two are, going back to their days in aw together,
you know, those two would love to work together, and
I'm sure that's what they're going to be doing next
weekend because I figure the match is going to be
Cody against Ricky. I don't think Oba is winning the
championship back tomorrow, so I think they're going to get
(28:11):
their shot I think that's the match. It's also a
great hook for Deadline tomorrow. Right, They had a chance
to promote that show here on SmackDown and let you
know that not only is the NXT Championship on the
line in that match, but there's another huge hook now
and there's something also very tangible on the line beyond
the belt as far as that match is concerned now,
because the winner is going on to wrestle on what
(28:33):
is going to be a pretty damn big show in
front of what should be a sold out crowd in
a big building next weekend. So I think it's a
good hook. It also, to me, has Drew McIntyre run
in written all over it. Not that there's any shame
in being pinned by the WWE champion if you're a
Ricky Saints or an Oba Femi, but if Drew gets
(28:55):
involved in this match and the match gets thrown out,
or if there's a DQ or whatever like it's it's
a way to protect whoever the NXT star is by
not having to take a direct loss. And it fits
the story right, Cody was trying to gouge that man's
eyes out of his skull tonight. He's the one demanding
that Drew by reinstated. Drew's gonna want a piece of
him after what he did tonight. It only makes sense
(29:17):
that we might see him in DC next week, so
I'm looking forward to that. I'm looking forward to seeing
what other matches they come up with. You know, Cody
against Oba would be great too. I'm a big Obafemi fan.
I think he's going to be huge on the main roster.
I mean, I sit here and tell you it would
be hard for Triple H to fuck him up, but
he's fucked up some other things, so never say never.
(29:40):
It's like challenge accepted. I think he'll do well though,
on the you know, on the main roster. I think
that you know, Shawn Michaels will go to Triple H
and say, look, you better not fuck this up. Pal.
So I love Oba Femi. Cody and Oba would be
great too. But here's the problem with that. The problem
with that is that that would mean that Obafemi is
going to win back the NXT Championship tomorrow. Obafemi should
(30:03):
not be winning the NXT Championship back because there is
no reason for Obafemi to continue to stay on NXT
and if he wins the title back, the implication there
is that he's going to be sticking around for at
least a few more months. SmackDown could really use someone
like Obafemi right now. So my hope is that he
does not win the championship back. And yes, it would
(30:25):
be two straight losses to Ricky Saints, but so what right.
We've seen this before where guys do a bunch of
jobs on their way out before they get called up
to the main roster, and I hope that's what is
planned for Obafemi here because for him to just win
the NXT belt back, to me, it's going backwards when
with him you should be going forwards, right forward. I
(30:47):
said forwards, I'm meant forward. Forwards is not a real word.
That doesn't really make sense, does it. No, it doesn't,
But that's where Obafemi should be going. So that's a
huge match though. For next weekend, we had the WWE
Women's Champion, Jade Cargill. She's moving forwards as well against
Alba Fire, who had Chelsea Green in her corner, the
(31:10):
Women's United States Champion, the TRIAA Mixed Tag Team champion,
she had her belts with her. This is just I'm sorry,
it's depressing to watch. It's just depressing to watch. That
segment on SmackDown last week, by the way, was just
a pilot garbage. I have no idea why they thought
that segment was something that had to be booked. I
(31:34):
think it was completely stupid. So now we have Jade
against Alba, non title here. Green got on the apron
at the beginning of the match that gave Alba an
opening to hit Jade with a dropkick. Outside the ring,
Keana James shows up and got Chelsea's attention. Julia was
standing behind her, the former women's United States champion. If
(31:56):
you forgot who this woman is, and so she attacked Chelsea.
Nobody cared. There was barely any reaction to any of this.
She was fighting and brawling with Chelsea up the aisleway again,
nobody really cared. Back in the ring, Jade caught the
distracted Alba with a pump kick and then hit Jaded
and won the match at about ninety seconds. These segments
(32:17):
are somehow getting worse. I don't know how that's possible.
This sucked. This is a complete and utter waste of time.
If this is the best they could come up with,
for these women that includes Chelsea by the way, Chelsea
and Julia and Jade, everybody involved here. I hated this.
(32:38):
This was a short match, more of an angle probably
than a match, but it was a short match that
does nothing productive for any of the women involved. Nothing.
No challengers for Jade have really been established. She's in
mid card hell right now. Now. They're teasing her and
(32:58):
Befab already wrestled, but she had a run in later
on with Beefab and the Meechin showed up, so they're
building to Jade and Meechin now. So they have Jade
running through the mid card on this show, none of
whom are over because none of them have really either
been given the opportunity to be established or they just
(33:19):
haven't gotten over in some cases, simple as that. But
that's what they have Jade doing right now. And the
thing is, like some of these mid card talents that
she's working with, they're heel mid card talents. Jade is
a heel, so like they're out there, and again, it's
hard for people to really get invested if it's somebody
like people I think like Chelsea to a degree because
(33:42):
she's entertaining, but she's a heel right, So you have
her working with the secret hervist these last few weeks
or we're beefing with them, and it's like, who are
the people supposed to really be invested in or caring
about her? Trying to get behind here and rally behind
It's just it just doesn't make any sense. I mean,
(34:04):
are they building to a United States Championship versus WWE
Championship match between Jade and Chelsea. I don't know what
the end goal here is of this and Julia, I mean,
what can I say? A BYuT Julia? You know that
hasn't already been said. I mean, no one cares. The
woman goes out there to crickets and it is completely depressing,
(34:27):
no reaction for her. She lost her championship and instead
of going on the warpath, she went silent, and that
silence was deafening tonight and it will continue to be
until they find something worthwhile for her to do. And
I'm not so sure the better move wouldn't be to
move her over to Raw and just lump her in
(34:49):
with the Kabookie Warriors, which is something WWE would ordinarily do.
I'm surprised I haven't done that. Already, But at this point,
I mean, what the hell else can we possibly hope
for when it comes to Julia on this show. Right,
She's not going to be in the upper mix. There's
no reason for her to be. She's not over. They
had their window to try to get her over and
they fucked it out. So she's not going to be
(35:10):
working with Jade. She's not going to be challenging for
the world title, so forget that. So who else is
there for her to work with? Right? Tiffany Stratton has
not been seen since she lost her championship. I don't
know if when we finally see her again, she's going
to go right back to Jade and they're going to
run that back, or if they're going to kind of
knock her down a couple of pegs and have her
working with someone like Julia, maybe in the mid card.
(35:33):
I don't know. Tiffany is Mia at the moment first
time I saw her. They show pictures I saw on
the line of her and Otis. They were at a
I forgot what sporting event it was. She was hanging
out with Otis. I'm like, Oh, there's Tiffany. I forgot
all about her. This Women's division, though, is just it's
like a lost vessel at sea, and I don't really
(35:56):
see there being any change until they make some move
to either get some new people or you know, we
get Bianca back. Bianca just said that she's in the
process of getting her finger fixed, which would be nice.
I mean, she's been out since April. Boy, could they
use her right about now. But again, when Charlotte and
Alexa lost the tag team titles, I was like, Okay,
(36:18):
this makes sense to me, because Jade needs credible women
to work with. You've got that in Alexa Bliss, in
Charlotte Flair. Instead Charlotte and Alexa, they're just trying to
get back their tag team titles. They're just going right
back to that. And I can't believe I'm actually saying this,
but the women's tag team division is actually strong enough
(36:42):
on its own without Charlotte and Alexa going back after
the belts. You can pull them from that and you
can have them working with Jade in the meantime until
whoever it is that is going to work with Jade
come Rumble and Mania season. I don't know why we're
not focusing on that. Jay can come out and she
(37:03):
can beat people in ninety seconds. And that's all well
and good, but I don't see who's benefiting from this.
I really don't. Jade's segments are basically they're rendered worthless
at this point. It's terrible. All of this is terrible.
Both members of Fraxium were shown backstage talking to Nick
(37:26):
all this wanting another shot at DIY when all of
a sudden, a very angry Iliya Dragonov walked up and
he was upset with the integrity of his open challenge
being ruined by Tamaso Champa. Dragonov demanded to face Champa
for the US title next week, so all this obliged.
(37:48):
So Dragonov then turned to go leave and he was
confronted by Toma Tonga and the rest of the MFTs,
who were not wearing their clown makeup, and no words
were exchange. We just had an intense stare down here.
For all the times we've seen Tomatonga confront Ilia Dragonov,
you know it's an open challenge, so he doesn't seem
to be in any great rush to accept the open challenge,
(38:10):
and it just makes it pretty obvious that Dragonov is
not losing the title to anyone else until we get
the match with him and Tomatonga. So I'm sure him
and Tomaso Champion could go out there next week and
have a really good match, but I'm sure Carmelo Hayes
will do something to ruin it for him, and then
(38:30):
after that, I presume we'll get Dragonov and Tomatanga. You
know what, would not at all be shocked if they
put the title on Tomatanga just to get some gold
in the MFTs. Not saying I want to see that,
but the way they've been teasing this out for several
weeks and all these stare downs with them, I could
see that happening. Speaking of the MFTs, Solo's Sokoa came
(38:56):
out to the ring next with the rest of the
MFTs to address what happened last week. Of course, they
had that Survivor Series elimination match against Team Sammy's Aim,
which the MFTs won, after which they were attacked by
the Wyat six. Solo got laid out by Uncle Howdy.
Solo said he told everybody that he and the MFTs
were going to handle the Sammy's Aim problem, and they
(39:17):
took his ass out. He talked about how they can
finally move forward now that Sammy was done and dusted,
which brought him to the Wyatt six. Solo said Uncle
Howdy was watching him and his family, but he was
doing the same to Howdy and the Wyatts. He introduced
himself and his family. He said that the Wyatts held
something that belonged to them, the WWE tag team titles,
(39:41):
which I had briefly forgot they even had. Don't judge
me I when he said that, I said, Oh, that's right,
that's right, the Wyatts have the tag team titles. I
forgot there for a second. Said that everything that was his.
He pointed up at the heavens, implying Bray why without
saying Bray Wyatt. They said everything that was his, which
(40:05):
was given to Uncle Howdy, it was going to soon
be Solos and he was going to show the world
that Howdy did not deserve the Wyat name. All he
needs to do is believe to the other MFTs. At
that point, exited the ring. Solo was in the ring
all by himself. The lights went out. We got a
(40:28):
Wyat video interruption, and then we saw the Wyatts on
the apron, all except Uncle Howdy, who was in the
rings standing behind Solo. So we got a face off
between the two, which erupted into fisticups. All the other
family members got in the ring and started brawling. Nicky Cross,
I think, jumped on I want to say j C.
Matteo's back, and he flung her off violently into the ropes,
(40:54):
and all the members were cleared from the ring until
only two remained, the two giants of their respective family,
Talatanga and Eric Rowan. So we got a face off
between the two of them. Rowan got the better of
the exchange. He booted Talatanga out of the ring and
then they all stared menacingly at each other, unable to
get back into the ring and continue their brawl because
(41:14):
of the invisible force field between them, and that is
how the segment came to an end. Well, look, what
can I say. It's no Wyatt family shield feud, but
as a mid card feud here between these two factions,
it's fine, it's fine, And you know what, it's fine
because it keeps them, especially the MFTs, away from the
(41:36):
main events scene. Right they are where they belong, they
are where they should be right now on the card,
and so they need another group to feud with. What
other group really is there on SmackDown for them to
work with, if not the Wyatts. So it's only natural
that you would put those two teams up against each other,
and you have Solo invoking the name of Bray Wyatt
(41:59):
trying to add a personal layer to this. I look,
none of this is interesting to me. I'm sorry. It's
fine as a mid card feud. It does nothing for
me personally. If it does for you, great, I feel
I'm happy for you. But for me, this is not
doing anything. It's not inspiring me to get excited. I
(42:19):
can't say that I'm excited to see the eventual battle
between these two groups, Solo and Uncle Howdy. It could
be a styles clash. Match wise, I don't really know
how that's going to go. We'll all find out together.
I'm not overly excited to see it, but this is
what we're getting. Backstage, the Miz was bitching to Nick
(42:41):
all This about not being booked for Saturday Nights main event,
even though, as he pointed out, I once beat John
Cena at WrestleMania and all this is yes, We're well
aware of this. You've mentioned it many times before, but
he said not just anybody can get booked on that show.
Which is when Bailey walked in of how all these
Raw talents are just randomly showing up on SmackDown, and
(43:05):
actually not only are they showing up on SmackDown, but
the way Bailey literally said, like Nick got her booked.
It was something like that, like all this was the
one who got her booked on that show, and I
was like, oh, interesting, I thought she was on Raw,
but okay, and then I think they mentioned Adam Pierce
after that. But there she is, She's on SmackDown and
(43:27):
she walks in and all this informs her that she
will have a match on Saturday Night's main event and
perfect timing. Your opponent just walked in and in walks
Soul Ruka from NXT, and Bailey greeted her very warmly,
and then she warned her that Ron SmackDown's very different
beast than NXT and that she would be watching Soul's
(43:50):
match a deadline tomorrow. Soul Ruka is one of I
believe five women in the Women's Iron Survivor Challenge tomorrow,
so Bailey will be one. Elsewhere. Kathy Kelly interviewed Gunther
about his match in the main event tonight with La Knight.
He said that he was going to beat La Knight
(44:12):
and then John Cena. At Saturday Night's main event, Gunther
talked about how this tournament was a foregone conclusion, as
he told Sena to watch and pay attention not just
to him beating Night, but how he beats La Knight
in this match, and that's when I knew when he
made that comment, that's when I knew he was not
(44:32):
pinning him In the main event. We got a video
promo earlier in the night from Damian Priest, so now
it was time for Alistair Black to respond, and he said,
something is very broken in Damian Priest. He's seen Priest
stand by people who won't stand by him. Black might
be everyone's enemy, but he's the only one who will
be honest about everything. They left Priest a perfect monster,
(44:55):
but here's Rhea to tempt him back to the false
pass that he had. Zelena is also here in the segment,
she talks about the terror twins will only lead to
Damian being lonely and sad all over again. Black says
that if Priest wants the inferno, then Black will play
Virgil to his Dante and guide him through it. Okay,
(45:20):
then main event time it was the finals. There we
go of the John Cena Last time is now tournament.
Gunther on one side, La Knight on the other. They
even got the big match introductions that they usually only
do for championship matches. Gunther facewashed Night very disrespectfully at
(45:42):
the beginning, which fired up Night. He went on the
attack early. Gunther went for his power bomb, but Night
escaped and tried for an early BFT, but Gunther slipped out.
After a break, Gunther flat and Night with a hard
clothes line. Night got Guntherer down. He went for his
jumping elbow, but he missed. After Gunther rolled out of
the way, Gunther held Night by the wrist started chopping
(46:03):
him across the chest. Knight avoided that last shop. He
caught Gunner by surprise with a jumping clothesline. Then he
hit a leaping neck breaker. Night went for another BFT,
but Gunther avoided it. After an O'Connor roll pin by Night,
Gunther turned that into a sleeperhole, which Night was able
to get out of. He hoisted Guntherer up on his shoulders.
He delivered kind of an ugly attitude adjustment, but he
(46:27):
hit john sena move followed by a burning hammer for
a close near fall. We got one last commercial break.
After that break, Gunther avoided a top rope elbow. Night
rolled through and then he ate a shotgun drop kick.
As soon as he got back to his feet, Gunher
tried for the power bomb. Night though countered out of
it into a DDT and then it was back to
(46:47):
the ropes and the big leap from the middle rope
to the top rope and then off the top comes
La Night, this time with the megastar elbow. He covered
only got a two count out of it. There was
a BFT attempt countered into a German supplex. Gunther then
dropped him with another hard clothesline and then he went
(47:09):
up top for the He went up top, did Gunther
here and Night got back to his feet. He interrupted
whatever it was that Gunther was about to try. He
interrupted him, and he climbed up with him. He tried
for a superplex. Gunther blocked it, and he shoved Knight
all the way down to the mat, and the announcers
(47:29):
really put over how Knight was selling his neck upon
landing right. This was part of the story they were
trying to tell here. And then he hit a splash,
not a very good one, and he immediately got up
and Gunther hit the opposite corner and he came off
with another splash. Look, I love Gunther. I think he's fantastic.
(47:51):
There's very little that he does that I have any
sort of issue with. If there's one thing I kind
of wish he would retire from his arsenal, it's the
top rope splash. It just never looks that good. He
kind of lands on his feet before he actually splashes
the person, and it really takes away from the impact
of the move. And he's really an impact player, you know,
(48:13):
with the chops and everything and the hard strikes and
the shotgun dropkick, and then he does the splash, which
is kind of out of character for him anyway, and
it just doesn't look good. So I kind of wish
he just would put that on the side and just
not do it. But Night kicked out. Even after two
splashes La Knight kicked out. The crowd still had hope
(48:35):
in their bones that this man might be able to
do the impossible. So gun Through immediately comes back with
a power bomb with a stack, but Night kicked out.
They were playing up how Gunther again was focusing on
Knight's neck. Gunther was stalking him in the corner. He
was waiting, he was getting ready, and Night gets back
(48:56):
to his feet. Here comes gun through. He's going to
put the sleeper on, but Night reaches back, he grabs
him and he drops him with a BFT, not a
BFD as Michael Cole I believe called it at one point,
but he dropped him with a BFT crowd popped. Gunther, though,
has those long legs and he was able to get
(49:16):
his foot on the bottom rope just in the nick
of time. You know what, maybe Michael Cole didn't mean it,
because he later on he mentioned a blunt force drama.
He referred to it as that moment. There was some
blunt force drama here in this match. Gunter got the
sleeper in again and then he let go and started
(49:37):
to rain down some anvil elbows and then back to
the sleeper again. Right in the center of the ring.
He had the body scissors applied. This is not good.
This is not good for all the La Night fans
out there. They got a lump in their throat because
they know how this is about to end. But he's
fighting and fighting, and he manages to fight his way
back up to a seated position, and the crowd is
(49:59):
really round behind him. He makes it back to his
feet and he got gun thro briefly up on his shoulders.
I guess maybe he was going to go for another
attitude adjustment, but Gunther just starts raining down elbow after
elbow after elbow. He gets him back down on the
mat and then he got a cravat applied. I thought
(50:19):
he was going for the STFU, almost like a cross face,
but he got the cravat applied. Center of the ring.
Nowhere to go. This is when I knew it was over.
It's just a matter of how long are they going
to allow him to hold on? And he held on
for a little bit. I want to say, I don't know,
maybe it was what ten seconds, ten to twelve seconds,
(50:41):
something like that. But with no place to go, l A.
Knight had no choice but to tap out. He wasn't
even pined. They had him tap out in the middle
of the and look, there's no shame in tapping out
to Gunther. Just remember gun thropped out to jay Usso
(51:02):
at WrestleMania. Not only did he tap out to jay Uso,
he tapped out. I think he tapped out to jay
Uso in his own move in like two seconds, which
makes it even worse by the way that he didn't
even try to fight. He was just like very quickly
tapping out. If Gunther could tap out to jay Usa,
there's no shame in La Night tapping out to guntherro
I'm just gonna say that. But he did tap out,
(51:25):
and Gunther wins the last time is now tournament. Gunther
will be moving on to challenge John Cena. In John
Cena's final match on Saturday Night's main event, Gunther looked
dead in the camera. After it was over, he yelled
for John. He said, I hope you're paying attention next Saturday.
(51:46):
You finally and definitely will give up. You're gonna tap out,
and that's how they went off the air. Gunther had
all of the best matches in this otherwise very underwhelming tournament. Here,
I actually might rank this the last last place out
(52:07):
of the four matches. It's all very subjective. Maybe you
like this match the most. I probably would have this
at number four out of four, But by no means
does that mean it was a bad match. It was
a good match. I enjoyed all the matches that Gunther
had in this tournament, none of them were you know,
blowaway or anything, but they range from good to very good.
(52:28):
You know, he really was the highlight. He was the
MVP of this tournament. Night never stood a chance. I know,
all the La Night fans, I feel your frustration. Share
I shared in your frustration for a good portion of
the year, you know, until I just sort of resolved
myself to the fact that Okay, this is where they
(52:48):
see him at and there's no there's really no reason
to believe that anything is going to change for him
in the short term. I wish I could tell you
that I this leading to a different direction for him,
or a turn or something. Not that I would necessarily turn.
And he's still very popular, but if turning him heel
(53:10):
meant that he would get a bigger push and be
in a better spot on the show than I would, say,
turn him heel, because Night works. Honestly, he works better
as a heel, even as good of a babyface as
he can be. Really like the La Knight character. If
you go back and watch him at NXT, He's a heel.
He's a born heel. So I wouldn't necessarily have an
issue with that. I don't get the sense that Triple
(53:30):
H is really his biggest fan. I think that's putting
it very mildly. He sees him put it this way.
He relies on him in certain spots, as he did
most of the summer. He got a lot of main
events on Raw where he was wrestling the Vision right
or wrestling alongside jay Uso. We saw so many different
(53:54):
permutations of that. So he has a certain level of
trust in him because he also has more matches I
think than almost anybody else in the entire company. In fact,
he might have the highest number of matches this year
in WWE. I think last year it might have been Domb.
This year, I'm pretty sure it's La Night. And so
(54:14):
he's been putting a lot of positions like that, but
that will only go so far if he's not really
making any sort of forward movement. He's not really moving.
He's like he got to a point and he's not
really going beyond that point. And he's been putting all
these positions and he keeps falling short. And I can
understand people thinking, man, what did Triple H, Like, what
(54:37):
did he do to this guy? What did he do
to Triple H that made Triple H hate him or not.
I don't think he hates him. I just think that
he he doesn't see him as someone who belongs in
that spot that everybody else would like to see him in,
or everybody else thinks that he could thrive in. I
don't know that they see him in that spot. I
(54:58):
don't know that things are going to be much different
for him in the first half of twenty twenty six.
You know, we can hope. He's a charismatic guy. He
can work. You know, I'm gonna say he's the flashiest
wrestler in the company. He's not. But the guy can work,
the guy can talk, he can play babyface, he can
play heel. I think he's versatile in that regard, and
he's certainly not getting any younger. But you can't say that, well,
(55:21):
his age is the reason why they can't do this
or they can't do that. You know, I could see
they say ages, but in number right, his work certainly
doesn't reflect that he's an old man who can't go
the age argument. You kind of lose that argument when
you look at the average age. I feel like of
those top stars in WWE He's really not too far
(55:42):
outside that range, so I don't really buy that as
an argument. Sometimes I'll hear people use that there's something
else going on here, and I don't know what it is.
I don't know what he did, I don't know what
he said. But you can only lose so many times
before you start to lose that momentum. Fans still pop
for him, they'll like him, but at some point you
lose so much that you start to lose some of that.
(56:05):
And I feel, you know, I fear for for him
as far as the spot he's in that we're rapidly
approaching that point. I could talk until I turned blue
in the face about all the different things they could
be doing with him, or I thought moving him to
to raw would you know, be a positive move. And
(56:27):
for all the main events he had this summer, I
mean a lot good it did him. He was in
those main events, but it wasn't to push La Night.
They had him working with Bronson Reid and bron Breaker
to help get those guys over. It wasn't about getting
La Night over. I don't know what else to say
at this point. I think I've said all that needs
to be said. It's up to w w W to
(56:48):
actually do something with this guy instead of just booking
him to lose in every situation that he's in. We've
had guys like that over the years who talk a
big talk and their promos. Bray Wyatt. Bray Wyatt was
one of those people, and I used to point it
out all the time. Bray Wyatt would cut these spooky
promos and talk about, like in riddles, about all these
(57:10):
things he was going to do to John Cena and
to Roman Reigns and to the Undertaker and Kane and
all these different people, and more often than not, what
would happen. He would go out there and he would
be a fucking loser. I'll never forget that video. Somebody
put it like a compilation video together, and I remember
sharing it on social media, and it was exactly what
(57:32):
I just said. It was clips of bray Wyatt promos
interspersed with the final moments of him losing all of
these matches and being dumped out of the Royal Rumble.
Had to be in twenty fifteen, being just casually dumped
out of the Royal Rumble, I think by Caine and
Big Show or something. Time after time after time. It's
like at some point people just kind of get boxed
(57:56):
into a certain spot and it's hard to break out
of that. It's like, oh, okay, this is his role
on the show. Talks a big talk, but talk is
cheap and he can't really, you know, follow up on it.
That's La Knight in WWE right now. I'm sorry to say,
but that's that's just where he is. But cheer up
(58:16):
La Knight fans. It'll be a new Year soon, right,
There's always hope New Year Knew Me. That's the attitude
that La Knight has to have. New Year Knew Me.
Night fits better on SmackDown, says uh Bill Nation. Dude.
He was on SmackDown and I was begging for them
(58:38):
to move him to Raw, to get him away from
the MFTs because that's all he was doing. And then
they finally did, and then it was like him and
the vision. But he was essentially in the same spot
that he was at on Fridays. I'm not sure where
to put him now. Maybe put him back in NXT
for a little bit, I don't know. I don't know,
(59:00):
but look enough about La Knight, right, La Knight is
not the one being pushed here Gunther is Gunther is
being pushed because Gunther is going to be the one
going in there. He is going to be the heel.
John Cena is going to be the heroic babyface. This
is the dynamic that they wanted for John Cena's final match,
And now we know that the story is that Gunther's
(59:22):
mission is to tap John Cena out and it would
be a shocking finish to the match if they followed
through on that and they actually had John Cena not
even pass out like in the Sleeper or in the Cravat,
but actually submit, actually tap out to Gunther, I would
be stunned. It would be huge for Gunther. I mean,
(59:45):
he could go around for the rest of his career
being I'm the man who made John Cena tap out
right for him, it would be huge. The question is
does he really need it. Is it worth upsetting all
the fans who are going to be severely disappointed at
the end of that show next week by booking that
kind of finish just so that Gunther can go around
bragging about how he's the guy that tapped out John Cena.
(01:00:08):
I don't think it is. I think that there have
been a lot of missteps on this retirement tour, and
I feel like in this case, the right thing to do,
honestly would be to book to give people the happy
ending that they would like to see, even if it
goes against all conventional wisdom when it comes to what
you do in a situation like this, where this guy's leaving,
(01:00:30):
gun Through is staying. So John Cena should put gun
Through over in his final match, and I'm sure John
Cena wants to do that. I don't know that that's
the right move in this case. I actually feel like
Sena going over in this match and making the heroic
comeback and getting the big win and giving people all
the joy at the very end that they didn't have
(01:00:51):
for so much of this run. Sometimes you know you
got a book for the fans, you know, and not
necessarily just booked for six months from now. Whatever you
might be doing with Gunther, this is a big enough
deal on its own that you know, you got a
book for the night, and for the night. I think
the right move probably would be to have John Cena
go over. But now, if Gunther wins, great, fine, I
(01:01:12):
mean that's that's wonderful, But it just feel I don't
know that you want to go out on a downer
in that way. I mean think about it like Gunther
now is in the spot that now you might be
asking why Gunther? Why does it have to be Gunther?
It should be pretty clear why. It was never gonna
(01:01:32):
work with La Knight. It was never gonna work. If
it was Carmelo Hayes, it was never gonna work, if
it was Javon Evans right, it was never gonna work
because the idea is that they wanted to give John
Cena an obstacle in his final match. They wanted to
give him the boogeyman to overcome, and I thought there
was a chance they were gonna go with Lesner and
Sena again after what happened to Russell Palooza. They were
(01:01:54):
going to build up to that and have him like
Slay the Beast, and thankfully they didn't do that. But
this is basically the same concept where Sena is going
into this as the underdog and Gunther is going to
be the big monster heel opponent and John Seen is
going to have to overcome him if he wants to win.
That story doesn't work with Seamus or La Knight or
(01:02:18):
Carmelo Hayes, or Pento or anybody else that was in
this tournament. So if that's the story they wanted to tell,
it had to be Gunther. It really couldn't be anybody else.
So the stage is set. Now we wait and see
what they're planning on doing. But I don't know Sina
tapping out. I think even though they're teasing that he
(01:02:40):
might do it, I would be stunned. It would definitely
be a shocking moment. It would go down in history.
But I would be stunned if they actually did that
in that match. And I think, man, I think that
would be the wrong move. Just it would feel wrong
to me in the way that it felt wrong for
the Undertaker streak to end at WrestleMania. If you had
(01:03:02):
John Cena go in there and do the one thing
that he always promised people he would never do right,
it would just feel wrong to me. What did you
think of SmackDown? Here for December fifth, sixty seven percent
thumbs up and about thirty three percent thumbs down for
(01:03:24):
tonight's show. And that is the current voting poll on
x at Solo Monster. It is where you can go
ahead and vote Yeah, Gunther has heat. He's already decorated.
That's it's all true. I mean, look, if Gunther wins,
it is a huge win for him, It's a huge
feather in his cap. And I could see where if
(01:03:45):
the idea is that guntherro is going to wrestle Brock
Lesnar and now we're just sort of fantasy booking what
the WrestleMania card might look like, if we're possibly looking
at Gunther and Brock next year, I could see them
wanting a Gunther win here just so that they could
go into it saying, okay, we both have wins against
John Cena, right, the greatest of all time. Brock beat him,
(01:04:09):
Gunther beat him, and now the two of them are
going to wrestle each other and only one man can win.
So if that's the plan, I can see why they
would want Gunther going over in this match. But again,
to me personally, I just feel like this is one
of those times where the babyface should win and everybody
should get their happy moment, and then he can cut
(01:04:29):
his retirement speech and we get a bunch of cameo
appearances from you know, all the people that have worked
with him and wrestled him over the years, and we
get that just that special ending to the show next week.
That doesn't leave people with a sour taste in their mouth.
(01:04:50):
Never give up, that's right, never give up. It's been
his motto for what fifteen years now, twenty twenty years. Oh,
we are eight out of ten on the bonus goal.
That's for a bonus round to be the booker, and
we are at three hundred and forty one likes, so
(01:05:13):
actually we might only get one round if we don't
hit four hundred likes. But I'll let you guys work
on that. Batista comes out and gives him a Batista bomb. Yeah,
that's Batista. I think Batista could very well be there,
but there will be no Batista bombs. They are going
to be in Big Dave's backyard though he is a Washington,
DC guy. That's where he I think I hope he
(01:05:34):
was born there or he just grew up there, but
they are going to be in his hometown. All right,
let's take a look at your super chats and I'll
get you guys out of here. Joseph Stewart is with us. Joseph,
(01:05:56):
tune into the podcast this weekend. I will have a
full segment on all the Netflix WBAW stuff. That'll be
on Sunday. I mentioned that Emma Stone turned down a
role in The Batman too. What are your thoughts on this?
I have no thoughts. I don't really care about her
(01:06:17):
being in that movie one way or I mean, I
have no issue with Emma Stone, but her and The Batman,
I have no real reaction to that one way or
the other. Why was there heat between Sable and Sonny?
I think Sonny has talked about it before. I just,
you know, two women that just didn't care for each other,
and more so, Sonny did not care for Sable. Yeah,
(01:06:43):
it's just two I feel like, two alpha female personalities
that just have nothing in common. There was probably jealousy involved.
There were also stories about Sable not, you know, treating
people very kindly all the time, and I think a
lot of jealous involved also probably colored some of those feelings.
(01:07:05):
Was there any heat between Sable and China? If there was,
I never heard of it. Have I seen Ernest Saves Christmas?
Never have? What is your favorite Ernest movie? Yeah, it's funny.
I don't think I have one. I've seen Ernest. I
was entertained by him, but I don't have a specific
(01:07:26):
movie that I would say is my favorite. I a
fan of the Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer movie. Yes,
which one is your favorite Christmas story of all time?
Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer or a Christmas Carol Rudolf
the Red Nose Reindeer. Of those two, what are your
(01:07:46):
top ten favorite Christmas songs of all time? I don't
have ten. I could probably give you five, though here
in the Holidays spirit, I will tell you that my
favorite Christmas song. This may not be on many of
your lists, but my favorite Christmas song is Christmas Eve
(01:08:09):
Sarajevo by Trans Siberian Orchestra. It's the one Christmas song
that I could listen to all year round, and it
gets me all pumped up. It's a it's an epic song.
I love it. So that's my number one. But of course,
you know you gotta have a holly, jolly Christmas rocking
(01:08:31):
around the Christmas tree, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, and
of course Falise Navidad. That's your top five right there,
Holiday one ninety seven. I'm posting this before the show.
It's highly likely that Gunther will win, but it'd be
nice to see a swerve and have La Knight sneak
out a win. He needs the rub more Gunther could
(01:08:55):
enact revenge after Saturday Night's made event, leading to a
short term few. Well, I got some bad news for you,
Holiday Wwe didn't see it quite the same way that
you did. Beas Beer says, No, yeats, it's just me Oops.
(01:09:16):
That should be Jimmy's catchphrase flamethrower fluff Salisbury. Everyone mentioned
Punk's Halloween three Gear It's Survivor series, but no one
mentioned that Naya was dressed up as a killer clown
from outer space that night. Yeah, I had no idea
(01:09:39):
until you just told me that. I never would have
known if that is true, I never would have known.
But I thought it was very cool. Though Punk's Gear
Halloween three Men one of the best Holiday says, I
have a feeling someone in production has it out for
La Someone in reduction has it out for La Night.
(01:10:06):
Not only is he losing matches, but they have him
giving up and tapping out even with a neck injury,
angle new nail in the coffin. Well that I mean
that wouldn't be somewhat in production, especially we gonna say,
like the cameraman like zoomed in on some giant bugger
in his nose or something that'll be next. That'll be
(01:10:28):
what they do on TV next week. Would Sid have
come back to WWE if not for the leg it?
Says Lakers Pats. Now, I think Sid is like a
full time performer. I think Sid's run was over. I
don't think there would have been any interest in Vince
(01:10:49):
bringing him back at that point. Randall, the sandal vandal
just well got from a coma that happened in late
two thousand and seven. What are you mean that gotchapping?
Is John Cena's last opponent. I really wish I could
get that reference, but I don't. But I love you, Randall,
(01:11:16):
Thank you. Uh we got double D twenty twenty five
with a pair of four ninety nine's. I hate WWE.
I hate it. When does Gunther need? When does Gunther need?
This shot? Triple H is the worst. Nobody can say
(01:11:37):
this was a good choice. Someone's been hitting the fireball tonight.
It looks like someone was very unhappy about Gunther winning
that main event, and he's been hitting the sauce here.
Make sure you drink water in between rounds. Believe me,
you'll you'll thank me for that when you wake up
tomorrow morning. Speedy, was that sweater originally a flag of estonia?
(01:12:11):
I don't think so you like it? We got UND
twelve thirty four. Triple h bad booking is jealousy. He
sabotages talents who are over with the crowd, like Drew
and la as they make him feel insecure because Triple
Ah failed as a babyface. There's some real like psychological
(01:12:36):
analysis going on here. So it's like a deep rooted
insecurity that Triple H has. Triple H always did strike
me as probably being insecure and definitely having a professional
jealousy of the Rock. So, I mean, I can't rule
it out, but I'm not gonna I'm not gonna make
(01:12:58):
a scientific diagnosis here. The sheltered kid. What wrestlers would
never get over if they were wrestling in this era
of WWE, A lot of them apparently, I mean, according
to UND, they would be getting over so well, Triple
Ah would just sabotage them because he would be jealous
of their push. But I always said, like, whether it's
(01:13:22):
this era or when Vince was still around, like so
many of those guys like Dusty, do you think Dusty
showing up at the performance center looking the way he
did would have even gotten a shot, and he was
super charismatic. But there's no way. There's just no way.
(01:13:43):
And you could probably find other guys that would fit
that criteria too, even maybe a flare the white hair
and everything like, there's no way cosmetically, cosmetically, I think
they just would have been shunned. But in fairness, I
(01:14:04):
mean Flair has looked when Flair was actually probably in
his forties, fifty ish, he looked fortyish or fifty ish
when he was thirty ish, so Arn Anderson like he
probably came out of the wold looking like that, bald head, glasses,
(01:14:25):
facial hair. Some guys have always looked old. Phil says,
SmackDown is ass. Also, how do I send a Kyrie
superchat having a hard time? It's the fifteen dollars one.
Certain amounts will trigger certain superchats, so you can find
(01:14:46):
them in the description down below. Duff's vis Drew will
be the new eater of pins for the championship if
he loses again. It feels like he's already there. Brother,
don't just don't you think we just hit ten out
of ten on the bonus goal. Dusty would have been
(01:15:11):
the Funkusaurus. You know it's sad, but tell me I'm wrong.
VQ Howdy there Solo buy Rent Sell Pawn wrestlemanni A
triple threat addition Triple eight Shawn Michaels, Benoit, Ria Eo Bianca,
(01:15:32):
Gunther Drew and Seamus and Mysterio Orton an angle. Well,
I'm going to sell on Mysterio Orton in angle. That
match was not nearly long enough. I mean it kind
of went at a breakneck pace. I think it was
like eight minutes, so there is something to it being
a quick pace match. But it's just for WrestleMania Championship match.
(01:15:56):
They had so much time cut. It could have been
it could have been a classic, and it just ended
up not, you know, being that it fell short of that.
So it wasn't a bad match, But I gotta sell
that one. I have to. I have to sell that one.
I'm going to pawn. Oh man, people are gonna think
(01:16:20):
I'm crazy. I'm gonna pawn Triple h Shawn Michaels and
Ben Wall. It's a good match, but I never loved
that match the way other people loved it. I'm going
to rent Ria Eo and Bianca. I'm gonna buy Gunther,
(01:16:45):
Drew and Seamus. That sounds about right Arabian Night. Remember
we thought Triple H would do well by Alistair Black.
It's the waiting on them to break out. We keep
getting videos. We did have the one match with Cody
at least Holiday one ninety seven. I predict Bianca will
(01:17:07):
win the Women's Royal Rumble, being the catalyst to her
feud with Jade. Also predicting and hoping that Sammy Zain
wins the Men's Rumble and faces Drew for the championship
at WrestleMania. If Drew beats Cody, let's say, on that
first smack that of the New Year, to win the title,
then he would be the champion. Conceivably that could happen.
(01:17:32):
But then Cody goes into WrestleMania without a title, which
I think is fine, nothing wrong with that. You can
still do a big Cody match even if the belt
isn't on the line, But you know, it deprives us
of either Cody and Punk or Cody and Orton, which
(01:17:53):
they've stalled for so long on that to not have
a championship involved there would feel very flat when most
of the teases for it had orton eyeballing Cody's belt,
and now he doesn't have one. Not that the feud
can't work without the championship, but I feel like the
championship is the entire reason for it. I don't know.
(01:18:14):
I mean, the stuff with Sammy has just gone stone cold.
So a few months ago I would have said, sure,
he would be one of my favorites to win the
Rumble in Saudi, and now I just it's hard to
imagine that. Hard to imagine him winning the Royal Rumble
right now. Mercedes lost tonight in a fantastic match. Yes,
(01:18:36):
the downfall. As I've been telling you people for a
couple months. Now, the downfall has begun. She lost her
first of those thirteen belts. More to come. I'll have
to check out that match. Apparently the match with Red
Velvet tonight at Final Battle was a banger. Thank you more,
Chris Hogan. How screwed is aw in Netflix acquiring w
(01:19:01):
I'll talk all about it on Sunday. They're not as
screwed as some people would have you believe, but we'll
talk about that on the podcast on Sunday. Ossie of
Steele at Saturday Night's Made event. Could we maybe see
the judgment Day Ladies against Fatal Influence. Sure they should
(01:19:22):
have well, I mean they should have a couple more
matches left. I mean we know of three, right, we
have seen his match, we have the Cody match, and
we have Bailey against Soul is going to be at
least four or maybe five. So we still have I'm
gonna say we have a couple of matches left for
them to announce. You could do that, scum dog, Thank
you for the ten and then another ten, says hope
we get be the booker. Well, guess what, scum dog.
(01:19:45):
Thanks to you, we are getting be the booker. Thanks
to you and all these other fine folks, you made
it happen. Prince Vegeta with a nine to ninety nine.
Just to remind you to everyone that Keith Lee got
a dominant pinfall win in less than seven minutes over
Randy Orton on pay per view, a result that meant nothing,
(01:20:05):
just a random fact lol. The COVID era Happy Friday. Yeah,
an era that I tried to not think about, but
it's true. Bearkat Lee has a win over Randy Orton
and he had that great rumble moment with brock lesnar
In twenty twenty, he had a fist bump with Roman
Reigns at Survivor Series. Right, what was that twenty nineteen,
(01:20:32):
She's defending her TBS title on Saturday on Collision. Who's
she defending it against? I've been waiting to see who
is she going to drop this TBS championship to after
all these what feels like years Misfit Wrestling Podcast gunh
being the first person to make Johnson to tap out
for the first time since December of two thousand and
(01:20:53):
three is a perfect send out. Eh, it's still it
still stunned me if they actually did that. Uh GMB
funnier segments Angle Austin or Sammy Bloodline. Angle Austin Sammy
(01:21:16):
Bloodline was great, It was a very entertaining but Angle
Austin just I can't vote against that little cowboy hat
or remember that backstage meeting. Vince was meeting with Team
WWF heading into the Invasion pay per view, and Angle
(01:21:38):
Angle was part of it was it was more so
Undertaker in Austin. Undertaker kept like repeating everything Vince was saying.
Undertaker was giving him the side eye. But I think
Kurt was there, Jericho was there, Kine was there. There
were so many great moments. It's like the only good
thing to come out of that whole invasion storyline. Boots
(01:22:04):
twenty twenty five YouTube recab All that matters is number one, Baby,
look at that solo. Monster sounds off there it is.
Look at this. It's a hell of a top five.
But look who's in the number one spot. I love it.
Thank you, Boots plus Ultra Adrian ten dollars super Chede solo.
(01:22:30):
Just so you know my YouTube recab you were number
one from my top channels. Love the content here. Hope
you're doing well. I love hearing that. I am doing
very well. I'm gonna get very festive around here soon. Right,
we're gonna have some snow on the street, maybe some lights.
Tis the season. Thank you, brother, Boots with another ten
(01:22:56):
putting Boots to asses tonight. Look at this guy only
what eighteen more likes for a double be the booker
Alexander says. Senas said, and I'm paraphrasing that he doesn't
pitch anything. He just goes with the flow. Yeah, I've
been telling you this for months. Someone needs to tell
him it's okay to complain. You know. I did hear
(01:23:20):
some of the comments that he made. I did not
see any of the Joe Rogan interview that he did today,
but I did see the stuff from the Bill Simmons podcast,
and I'll talk about some of the stuff that he
said on Sunday. He made one comment that I just
find to be completely asinine, and we'll talk about that
(01:23:40):
on the pot I'll have something to say about that.
Devin from New Jersey says, buy or sell Aaron Paul
or logan Paul Aaron Paul. I bumped into Aaron Paul,
got a picture with him at a Halloween party many
years ago. Still have the photo too. JDFVA says, nice shirt,
(01:24:02):
Thank you brother. I appreciate that it's cold today in
New York, bone chilling cold today got down to like
twenty two. Devin, thank you again. He says. Also, just
when you think food can't make phone calls, boom onion rings.
(01:24:27):
I'm out, Wow, look at Devin, Devin with the jokes.
Prince Begeta. I know Sena is trying to be nice
for the future of the company, but Saturday Night's made
event should be a scene a tribute show. What do
you think of the rejected two hundred and twenty dates,
and we'll talk about that on Sunday as well. I
(01:24:48):
don't even think the company had two hundred and twenty
main roster shows this year, so you know, Triple H
wanted this to be a John Cena tribute show, was
the original plan. The whole show is going to be
a scene a tribute show capped off by the match
with Gunther, and it was legitimately seen as request that
(01:25:09):
they do it this way, which honestly, and I can
understand people wanting it to be more of a tribute show.
I'm sure they'll have their bumpers coming in and out
of the commercial breaks with highlights of his you know,
greatest matches and all that. But I like the idea
of also featuring some of the up and coming talent
against main roster stars. I liked the concept. I like
(01:25:30):
the idea. It's kind of fitting for the way Scena
came in for him to be going out that way.
Misfit Wrestling Podcast never thought I would hear a Trans
Siberian Orchestra reference from Solomon's you never know what You're
going to expect here on this show. You never know
what you're gonna hear on these podcasts. Randal, the Sandal Vandal?
(01:25:52):
Why are we skipping over Jingle all the way? It's
a better movie than this. Of course you can go
jingle Bells. Batman Smells. That's a classic. I knew that
when I was a kid. Misfit says, we'll get Half
Life three before La Knight wins a world title in WWE. Dude,
(01:26:16):
We're gonna get GTA six before La Night wins a
world title in WWA. Forget Half Life Duff's VIDs? Did
you see the John sena did the Joe Rogan podcast?
I did. I have not had time and may not
have time to check it out before Sunday. There's far
(01:26:37):
too much else to get into, but I will try
to check out at least part of it. Scum Dog,
thank you for the ten man. Scum Dog's been all
over the place tonight, Misfit. I know people keep going
back to Sting winning his retirement match, but failed to
mention Sting wanted to lose to the Bucks. Well except
all the times that I just mentioned it over the
last couple of weeks. But that's okay. I don't know
(01:26:59):
who these other people are that you're referring to. But
I've made mention of that multiple times, and I've also
said that John Cena, I'm sure is also going to
want to lose in his retirement match. But sometimes you
gotta make a you gotta make a judgment call and
say no, this is the way we're doing it, this
is the right way to go about doing things. Randall says,
(01:27:26):
with Saturday night's main event being in DC, I'm half
expecting the American Males coming out and doing the YMCA
to close the show. I'm fairly confident that will not
have it. I spoke a lot of weed. Gumphor beats Sina,
wins the Rumble and beats Cody at WrestleMania. No gum
(01:27:52):
Thor beats Sena very possible, the rest, No Jamie Dorsh.
Which of the three Steve Boston WWF title wins on
raw was the best one? That's right. He did have
three of them on raw, didn't he He had the
one in ninety eight after King of the Ring, he
had the one in ninety nine after King of the Ring,
(01:28:13):
and he had the one in two thousand and one
from Kurt Angle in October. Right, to me, the best
one is the first one. That one, to me was
the most fun. I mean, I was sad that Cain
only had twenty four hours with the belt. But man,
I will never forget the way that building erupted when
Austin got that three count. That whole summer of ninety eight.
(01:28:39):
You had to be there, you had to live through it.
It was electric. Went to my first raw in person
that year, went to another one in October. That was
the night the Big boss Man came back. That was
the night that he had corvette poured into mister McMahon's Porsche,
(01:29:00):
whereas Jim Ross said, he's pouring seamen into that Porsche.
I was in the building that night for that. That
was a Nasau coliseum. So yeah, the third one, the
third one I would put last, the second one in
the middle. But the first one was the best. And
(01:29:22):
Duff's VIDs. What do you call a wreath made out
of one hundred dollars bills? Aretha Franklins. That's a good
I like that one. That's a good one. That's a
good one. That's the best one all night. It's Aretha Franklins.
Of course it is. It only makes sense. Furious Nation
(01:29:48):
is with us with a four ninety nine. It's going on,
Furious Nation. What's up? Solo can't believe it's December. Gunther
versus La Night was really good tonight after tonight zero
Gunther slander. Yes, Gunther slander will not be tolerated. Even
(01:30:09):
if I do think that there should be very serious
consideration given to John Cena winning his final match, you
will never hear Gunther slander around here. Also, twenty twenty
five hasn't been Triple H's year, but in twenty twenty
two he saved Gunther and La Knight from getting released,
no doubt about it. Duty he got La Knight's name back,
(01:30:33):
he'd still be fucking Max Dupree. Actually he wouldn't even
have a job anymore, but he would have been Max
Dupree until the day they released him scumdog with seven
months of membership. Have you ever watched Blazing Saddles? Yes,
I have great movie, Zachary. Thank you for that comment.
I appreciate that. And I just noticed that we have unlocked.
(01:30:58):
If you can believe it, we have unlocked. The key
has opened the door to double be the booker you get,
not one. You get two. You guys did it. You
achieved the impossible Duff's VIDs. Why can't blind people eat
anything from the ocean because it's seafood? Oh boy? On
(01:31:24):
that note, now, time to be seafood. Bistle Zone says.
Sometimes I go back and watch Solid Monster's reaction to l. A.
Knight regaining his name. It's sort of sad how optimistic
(01:31:45):
he is for L. A. Knight's future is or was
was that the night that I played the the Godly Chimes?
I think it was. Well, there was a lot of
reason to be optimistic at that time. I was a
(01:32:06):
lot more innocent and pure before they corrupted me, and
near is with us. Hey solo, long time. Hope you're well.
I'm doing well. I hope you're doing well. I had
to do a double take because again everyone's got the
at handles. Now YouTube has made this stupid change where
(01:32:26):
people lost their names, and I just see the ad handles.
All right, here we go, two rounds. We're going to
start with round number one. Triple H promised an epic
raw last Monday, which was not epic, But maybe we
could do an epic card tonight. How about that? How
about we end the week with an epic card. How
about we don't. We'll try in the next round because
(01:32:48):
we begin with the best Friends Trent Burretta and Chuck Taylor.
Fine wrestlers, but epic is not a word I would
use here. Best Friends against m x M R Mensis
(01:33:11):
and Marseille. That's a fine pre show match. That's a
fine pre show match. On the leg, Well, that died fast.
I died quickly. At least it was a quick death
(01:33:32):
super buzz. I don't I don't you know I have
to come up with maybe a sound effect for a
super buzz. We have Kyrie saying, we have Kyrie who
is on SmackDown tonight, so she's pulling double duty. Kyrie
(01:33:54):
is going to take on Michelle McCool, everyone's favorite podcast
co host, Michelle McCool, and this is going horribly tonight.
(01:34:17):
And in the main events we have Yoko Zuna, two
time WWF champion. I never thought I would say this,
but save us Yoko live. Morgan gives you her room key.
(01:34:38):
Now pick a stipulation. Well, before we pick an opponent,
I guess we have to pick a stipulation. We haven't
even gotten to the bonus round yet. We're already picking STIPs.
All right, Well, we know Yoko Zuna is in this match,
but what kind of a match will it be? Oh great,
(01:34:58):
it's gonna be a mountain dew pitch which black match.
All Ula Night fans, you know all about that mountain
dew pitch black. Yoko Zuna will be in a mountain
dew pitch black match in the dark with all the
glowing all the glowing lights. This this is uh, this
(01:35:18):
is this is certainly something. This is not going the
way that I wanted it to. But he is wrestling
Ricky the Dragon's Steamboat, and I don't care what kind
of match it is. That match, that match could bang.
(01:35:39):
We got saved. We got saved right at the buzzer,
right there at the end. Yes, that was the six hundred.
That was the Yoko Zuna in that image. Was Yoko
at his heaviest in the ring. So the thing about Yoko,
even at that point, I mean, he's still you know,
his instincts were still there, but man it was it
(01:36:00):
was tough. It's tough to be mobile in that state
when you're that heavy. But I see Steamboat, I see Yoko.
I think they can make that work. Now we go
to round number two, where we have stipulations for all
(01:36:22):
of the matches which could go horribly wrong. Here, all right,
we have a well case in point. We have a
Molotov cocktail match. This is getting very dangerous. You thought
blooding gots a few weeks ago with something. We have
a Molotov cocktail match. Molotov cocktail tag team match. I
(01:36:47):
wouldn't want to be sitting in those first five rows
with the Molotov cocktails flying around. Randy Orton forces Adam
Piers to add a stipulation to your match. Oh, we
have to reset the step. We have to pick a
new stipulation. We lost the Molotov cocktail. You believe this.
(01:37:09):
The fans lives have been spared. All right. Now it's
a fight pit match. Has there ever been a tag
team fight pit match? I don't believe so. Well, we're
about to get one tag team fight pit Here we go.
We have Jungle Boy and Lucasaurus Jurassic Express. Of all
(01:37:35):
the people to have in a fight pit match, jungle
Jack Perry is not the one that I would really
expect to see in there. Jurassic Express against the USOS
in a fight pit match, well, how about that for
(01:37:56):
a tag team match, though, the USO's against Jurassic Express.
For our women's match, it's going to be first Blood.
Nick Kahn says, I don't think so. Tony Kahan says,
(01:38:16):
oh yeah, I think so. First Blood. So we know
the match will be happening in aw. This will not
be a WWE match. But let's see who's in it.
The women will bleed sensational Sherri Martel, who I don't
think would have any issue bleeding in the match. I
(01:38:37):
think Sherry would welcome it. Sherry was a tough cookie.
I think Sherry would have done well in that women's
blood and guts match. Holy shit, sensational Sherry and Bull
Nakano in a first blood match. That's the best match
(01:38:57):
we booked so far. Sherry and Bull first Blood. It's
fucking great. That's right, Scary Sherry and our main events, Uh,
it's going to be Mimosa Mayhem, a Mimosa Mayhem match.
(01:39:24):
Somebody is going into the pool full of mimosa. This
is our main event. Has to be all Japan Bowl Nicano,
Absolutely all Japan Bowl Nicano. That women's match is gonna
(01:39:46):
end up being the best match. That I booked between
these two rounds. Oh I take that back. The first
entrance into Mimosa Mayhem, Ladies and gentlemen, he scored four
touchdowns in one game for Poke High Al Boom Boom Bundy.
(01:40:09):
It's been a while since we've seen Al Bundy and
be the booker, but he's back. The man, the myth,
the legend, Al Bundy, Mimosa Mayhem. Oh my god, I
want a fucking match against Kurt Angle. Kurt Angle man
(01:40:35):
that Mimosa is going to turn red with blood, Kurd Angle, dude.
I mean, of all the matches I've ever booked, this
has to be a top ten match right here, even
with the dumb stipulation Al Bundy against Kurt Angle, Like,
are you fucking kidding me? And that's a sweep. That
(01:40:58):
is a clean sweep. We went from a very shitty
first round to a clean sweep and round never see,
this is why you got to do double be the booker.
You screw one up, you can make up for it
in the next round. Bundy going over, I don't know,
you know, Al's OL's god. What is it that he
(01:41:19):
is uh trained in? Is it Brazilian? It's Brazilian jiu jitsu.
I think he's got his I don't know what color
belt he has. I don't know. He might be able
to uh put up a fight in there against Kirk
kurk Kurt's gonna win, but al Bundy's not going to
go down with that fight. Al Bundy won't be tapping
out because if he taps out, that means that the
(01:41:41):
match is over and he has to go home and
have sex with Peg, and we all know he doesn't
want to do that. There you go, a very interesting
double round of be the booker. We started with a
Molotov cocktail match, yes, but the stipulation got wiped clean,
so we actually never booked it. Death Jitsu Curt Hankle
(01:42:05):
did not score four touchdowns. It's the battle between the
man who scored four touchdowns in one game and the
man who won a gold medal with a broken freaking neck.
I mean, pick your poison, which one do you like more?
He's a Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt. Wow Misfit Wrestling podcast.
(01:42:26):
Fun fact. Stone Cold has never won the WWF Championship
on pay per view outside of WrestleMania, Well, I mean
WrestleMania is all the matters he wanted it. WrestleMania fifteen,
That's what counts and gold Matthew Solo looking like the
(01:42:47):
fourth member of the Mean Street Posse. I wish I
could play the music. Also, I know you're constantly busy,
but can you please watch The Batman? I need your thoughts.
I think Joseph's head would explode if he knew that
I watched The Batman. He would have all kinds of
questions for me. Yeah, I'm gonna get around to it
at some point. It's just it's it's three hours long,
(01:43:07):
and it's it's hard for me to focus my attention
on that in one sitting, so I know I have
to get to it, though, I'll definitely get to it
before The Batman two comes out. Katie Sigal wasn't she
on Sons of Anarchy? Never watched that show, but I'm
(01:43:29):
pretty sure she was on there a fun times, Fun Times.
