בשנת 1969 היה עקיבא נוף כתב קול ישראל ונשלח למשימה יוצאת מהכלל: לראיין את ג'ון לנון במהלך "שביתת השכב" (bed-in) שערך במלון הילטון באמסטרדם. עקיבא ערך עם לנון ועם יוקו אונו ספק ראיון ספק שיחה ארוכה על מגוון רחב של נושאים כולל על ישראל והמזרח התיכון. בראיון הנדיר הזה סיפק ג'ון הצצה נדירה על דעתו על הסכסוך הישראלי-ערבי ועל מגוון נושאים שהעסיקו אותו, בעיקר השלום העולמי. כמו כן, סיפק ג'ון רגעים מוזיקליים נדירים כאשר שר קטעים של שני שירים בעברית, הבה נגילה והשבועה לירושלים מאת עקיבא נוף, וכן שיר של הביטלס שאז עוד לא ראה אור, I Want You. בפרק המרתק הזה, משולבים קטעים מהריאיון עצמו שכמוהם טרם נשמעו, וזאת הודות לאישור מיוחד שנתן עקיבא נוף לביטלמניה – הפודקאסט.
