Known for its unforgettable tagline, “Tired of the everyday grind? Want to get away?”, Escape delivered high-stakes adventure, psychological horror, and hair-raising suspense that kept listeners clutching their blankets in the glow of their radios.
Produced by CBS and voiced by some of the eeriest vocal talents of the time, Escape was the sister show to the more polished Suspense, but make no mistake — this one played dirty. It brought jungle curses, post-apocalyptic nightmares, and things that slither just beyond the firelight.
So turn the lights down low, light a candle (or maybe a clove), and let the shadows settle in... because Escape is about to begin—and in this morgue, you never know what’s waiting just beyond the static.
