“I have one life. It is precious.”
That truth became a guiding force for Julie Porter when she was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. In this episode, Kevin and Jamie sit down with Julie, Jamie’s best friend since third grade, to talk about her journey from diagnosis to double mastectomy, the outpouring of support from her community, and why she believes advocacy and openness are essential.
What you’ll learn in this episode: → Why listening to your intuition and advocating for your health matters → How community, friendship, and small acts of kindness make the hardest days easier → The lessons Julie has carried into motherhood, marriage, and life after surgery
Julie’s story isn’t just about cancer—it’s about resilience, choosing courage in the face of fear, and discovering the simple power of connection. From fundraising with “Team Tits and Giggles” to finding strength in her family and friends, Julie shares with honesty, humor, and hope.
