Zeno of Citium was an ancient Greek philosopher who founded the Stoic school of philosophy. His journey began with a twist of fate: He was shipwrecked and lost his material wealth near Athens. Embracing adversity, Zeno turned to philosophy, studying under prominent philosophers before developing his ideas. His teachings, centered around virtue and reason, laid the foundation for Stoicism, a philosophy that continues to influence thought today.
