(00:02):
I am Rachel Hall, and today I'm joined by someone whose work has deeply resonated with me.
Neve Tierney.
Neve bridges the worlds of fashion and energetics, helping people understand not just how they present, but who they vibrate as She's since become an in-demand energy healer.
Leading sessions for Stella McCartney, Hollywood actors, global musicians, elite athletes, and hosting regular workshops at Soho House in London.

(00:29):
Her brand new book, the Fashion Oracle, and her Monthly Energy Tank Sessions are just a few of the ways she's making energy work accessible and impactful for everyone.
So welcome, leave.
Thank you so much for being here.
Thank you, Rachel.
That was so lovely to hear how that introduction that was so, yeah, that was so nice.

(00:51):
Thank you.
It is nice, isn't it, to have a reflection, I think, for someone else to see what you do.
yeah.
It really lands, doesn't it? Yeah.
And life is so busy, so it's so nice to take that moment and, and sort of see myself through your eyes for that little moment.
Thank you.
Yeah.
Oh, you're so welcome.
So we met two years ago in a field, in a tent.

(01:15):
In a field, we have a mutual friend, Naomi Anand, who introduced us.
Very grateful for Dear Naomi.
and you know, quite honestly when I first met you, I don't know, there was your, your beautiful, so, you know, just to see your beauty on the outside is something, but you have such a beautiful presence, and such a relaxed and calm presence and vibration.

(01:40):
And I was, I just felt, oh yes, okay, this is a gorgeous person.
I want to get to know this person.
and I will, and I will know this person.
So it's been lovely to, for us to be able to stay in touch, you know, as we do in the modern world on social media and to just to continue to witness your work.
It was so lovely in, it was in a different tent, but that same weekend that you did a beautiful energy hygiene, energy clearing, meditation, I suppose exercise.

(02:07):
Which again, really resonated.
And I think what was so wonderful was that it was so simple, so clear, and so accessible, and I feel like that's the real beauty of your work.
for people that are just getting to know you.
Could you give us a little bit of a heads up? What, how would you describe the work that you do in the world at the moment? Ah, I'm just, yeah.

(02:28):
Thank you again for those very kind, kind words received.
so I do a lot of different work within, energy healing, and, and the wellness umbrella.
my one liner when I talk about the work that I do is I'm looking to optimize your energy, whatever that looks like.
So whether I'm doing a one-to-one at the residencies I have where I'm working with my clients and reading their energy and pinpointing and targeting the energy challenges, they're moving through.

(02:59):
I will guide them on how to optimize that energy and as an energy healer, I'll support them through that.
I do a lot of talks in businesses and I teach teams how to better manage their energy in the workplace.
but I've given hundreds and hundreds of sessions and I've really been thinking about for the last four, five years how to make energy healing more accessible.

(03:25):
And so that's when you met me two years ago in a field and I was speaking on a stage about energy boundaries and I took a lot about energy investments, how we use our energy, these, energy leaks that we might not even realize we have.
And so my work is one, teaching people that we hold a frequency understanding that.

(03:53):
And then understanding how to consciously connect to this frequency and not to just think about it when we don't have it.
We only really think about our energy when we are depleted, when we don't have the energy to make that phone call to go to that meeting.
so whether I'm working one-to-one with people or doing group work, we're doing, talks and really helping people to consciously connect to this frequency that we have, understand how to look after it, how to protect it, how to reset it, and how to boost it.

(04:24):
Mm.
And I think this is why I just kind of fell in love with you and your work.
It's like, yes, you're speaking my language and I love how the language that you use is, you know, energy investments, energy leaks, energy boundaries.
It's very clear.
and it's language that we also use in other parts of our life that we perhaps understand, you know, financial investment.

(04:48):
Et cetera.
financial leaks, whatever it is, overspending.
and I, I think that's really lovely, your use of language and then how that can kind of pull in the imagery around, gosh, yes, I'm an energetic system, just like money might be and time can be and and time is, my energy is also that frequency and I can overspend and underinvest and under care.

(05:11):
So I wanted to ask you perhaps, first of all, what is the difference in your eyes between energy care and traditional self-care? So I think we have a lot of tools widely accessible to us to really help us look after our vessel.
So whether that's exercise, whether that's diets, where I come in and where my work comes in is I'm teaching you not just how to look after your vessel, but the energy your vessel holds.

(05:40):
And that's the difference This.
Frequency, this vibration that we feel as soon as we meet someone, we can feel if we are vibing with someone, we can feel if the vibe is off, that frequency, that vibration isn't something that everyone knows how to yet, look after.

(06:04):
And, and I think in terms of self-care when it comes to our energy, for me it's really helping people understand this frequency that we hold can be optimized.
It can be boosted in ways that are not, through physical exercise or dietary, sources.

(06:25):
Mm.
So it's not just, looking after your energy as in, I need to get more sleep, or I need a bit more motivation.
Perhaps I need to exercise more 'cause I'm so tired.
Or perhaps I need to take vitamin B12 or so.
It's not energy in that sense, of course, but I just, just for that real clarity, it's, it's that resonance of who you are, the essence of who you are that is different to this physical vessel, that we live in for this lifetime.

(06:51):
So when did you start to really see the difference in that? I'm kind of interested, especially with your burnout.
Hmm.
that you've spoken about.
yeah.
When did the penny drop for you? Oh gosh.
There's a difference in my energetic resonance of my essence of who I am as opposed to my body and how much I can push my body.

(07:13):
Yeah.
you know, I didn't grow up really understanding or having any idea about the energy that we hold, the energy that surrounds us, the energy into play that we're having with the people in our orbit.
and so my energy care and probably my self-care was super poor, was super low.

(07:39):
I think.
yeah, I, I was lucky enough to be working in an industry that I loved and I was lucky enough to be working on these amazing, amazing projects.
but the hours were long and, and I just didn't look after myself.
I burnt out and that was my motivation.

(07:59):
That was my moment to start thinking about.
Okay.
I'm, I'm exercising, I'm doing yoga, I am meditating.
I eat healthily.
it's not cutting it.
I'm still burning out.
I'm still, pushing myself past what my body and my mind and my spirit feels comfortable with.
And so I discovered reiki after burnouts and it started to become part of my toolkit.

(08:27):
It started to become part of my self-care toolkit alongside with meditating and, exercising and looking after my diet.
This went deeper.
This was so visceral in terms of the before and after experience.
I used to get reiki with, someone that became my mentor and she was based in New York.

(08:48):
And I get reiki monthly and I would literally be opening up my laptop, like not even having the energy to like lift my laptop, for the session.
Receiving reiki from her and feeling like energy moving through me in certain parts of my body.
And she would, tell me like where she was working.
It's like I could feel exactly where she was talking about.

(09:10):
And after the session, I would be sliding across the kitchen in my socks.
Just the before and after was so tangible.
It was such an amazing, resource for me to access life force to release energy that was stagnant.

(09:30):
And that was the beginning of my education really, of understanding firsthand the impact of what energy work can have on a lifestyle and in a life that I wasn't looking to change, but I was looking to maintain.
Mm.
Thank you so much.

(09:50):
I just, I want you to do a reel of that not being able to open your laptop and then I can just see you sliding across the kitchen at the end.
I think that would be a great reel.
so yeah, doing all the things, you know, doing.
Yeah, I'm doing, you know, I'm doing my yoga, I'm having my green juices, I'm doing this, that, and the other.
but it's so interesting that, gosh, that's not cutting it.
'cause I'm not listening to the, my soul.

(10:11):
I'm not nourishing my soul and perhaps not even on track.
You know, I'm trying to do all these things to maintain a lifestyle that, like you said, you perhaps didn't wanna change in that moment, but it is almost like a deeper part of you is calling out.
There's something, there's another way of doing this.
And I think this is our deep feminine wisdom, isn't it? there's another way.
There's another way that doesn't have to be go, go, go.

(10:33):
there's so much beauty and growth and expansion in the rest and in the looking like I'm doing nothing.
And in that energetic field.
and I also loved how you spoke about, you know, the life force that it's, you, you couldn't find the energy with doing more of the things.
It was tapping into this endless, it's like finding a new sustainable way of being.

(11:00):
You know, we we're trying to find more sustainable ways to live on this planet.
at least I hope more and more of us are, you know, with, in terms of energy heating, et cetera.
and actually can we find that sustainable way within our own system of tapping into this regenerative life force that is always there, that is different to the burnout.

(11:23):
Why do you think people only really start to seek energy work when they're in burnout or crisis? You know, that could be a breakdown of anything.
what, what's your take on that? So a lot of my clients will first come to me when they are in a moment of crisis.
And, the reason is the universe will, make us uncomfortable to motivate change.

(11:52):
And so if we are not dialed in enough to hear the whispers that our body is trying to share with us, like I am sure without a doubt, there were whispers that my body was communicating to me before burnout, before, like absolute burnout.
And I wasn't dialed in enough to acknowledge them, to listen to them, to hear them.

(12:15):
So if we, aren't hearing the whispers that our body is sharing with us.
the body will scream and the body will scream in terms of sickness, burnout.
and it's in those moments that we don't really have a choice.
We have to, take action because, of health or personal reasons that are motivating us enough, making us uncomfortable enough to motivate change.

(12:44):
Because if we are kind of plateauing through life and everything's fine, we don't have the motivation to dial in to listen to those whispers, to tune into what, our body, our mind, our spirit is communicating with us.
And so, yeah, if that kind of highway of communication is closed off, then it will take a moment of crisis to get our attention.

(13:09):
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
It's the only way sometimes.
We'll look at it.
Life's so busy, isn't it? We've got bills to play, pay, we've got people to look after who's got time for all of that until you have to, there's no other option.
You're up against the wall.
I'd love to hear you talk a little bit about how, what tools people can use, way ahead of burnout.

(13:30):
So like you said, this listening to body, but also those kind of energetic energy care tools.
and I know you've got this beautiful program, energy tank, so this could be a nice time to talk about that.
but yeah, if you could share a couple of energy self-care tools that people could start to put into place before it, it gets to that place of I can't even open my laptop.

(13:51):
I'm so shattered.
Yeah.
so I talk a lot about energy hygiene.
I am.
Very passionate about helping people understand how to look after their energy from a more preventative point of view when it comes to getting ahead of burnout, getting ahead of sickness.

(14:14):
so some of the key areas I will be talking to my audiences about is, really understanding when we are moving through the world, when we're moving through life, the environments that we surround ourselves with, the people we surround ourselves with, and the thoughts that we are having.

(14:34):
All of these things that orbit our physical body, our system will impact our energy as well.
And so with that in mind, it's really being mindful and having, a knowing and an understanding of.
What in your life nourishes you? What depletes you, what energy investments you are making? And if you are choosing to invest your energy into people or places that you know deplete you, that you know, there's no energetic exchange that you are gonna be around that person and after five minutes you are gonna wanna lie down.

(15:12):
but that's an investment you want to make because maybe it's someone you work with, someone in your family, or it could be, someone that's moving through grief or you know, a very stressful moment.
And so their energy, their frequency has been lowered.
and you want to be there for that person, but you know, speaking to them will deplete you.

(15:32):
But it's an investment you choose to make.
Then there are a few, few ways to navigate that.
So with these energy investments, the first thing I would say is proximity matters.
So if you can have a phone call with that colleague, that boss, that person, your family, or that person that is going through a really hard time check in via a call rather in person, won't impact your energy field as much.

(16:01):
Or, put a time limit on it, give, you know, 20 minutes to that call, that conversation.
because you, the energy is depleting slowly and slowly, like energy is kind of filtering out and being given to that other person or that situation.
but as I said, if you cannot remove that person with love from your life, or it's an investment that you are choosing to make, I know this is gonna deplete me, but I wanna be there for that person.

(16:31):
Then I talk a lot about, we've spoken a little bit about energy budgets, but I talk a lot about energy plans.
Like what are you going to do to fill up your tank? What are you going to do to fill up your vessel? The energy that you hold if this situation is going to deplete you? and so it may be checking in on that friend and, and seeing them, but walking home afterwards rather than jumping on the underground or getting a cab and just allowing nature to do its thing and top you up energetically.

(17:08):
and so there are lots of different ways that we can top up our energy.
A lot of them are so simple, but it's just having those practices in your life and being mindful of the energy investments you're choosing to make the energy budgets that you are putting in place.
And then how you are going to put an energy plan in place if there is, something in life that you know is gonna energetically deplete you.

(17:34):
This is so good.
so I'm just hearing, so it's being very conscious about it.
It's, it's us developing more of an awareness around that, around our energy.
gosh, I feel more vibrant today or in this moment.
I feel, gosh, I feel energized, I feel more vibrant, or, oh, I just feel low or I feel depleted.
and I suppose that that fluctuates throughout the day, doesn't it, throughout the month, throughout the lives.

(17:57):
and then it's also that discernment of when I'm around this person, when I'm in this environment.
I remember I was teaching in New York last year, and I find New York incredibly.
Uplifting for me, it feels like it's, it's a real energetic home for me in New York, but I was teaching with a gorgeous woman from South Africa, and she was frazzled.

(18:20):
She was just, oh my gosh, I can't cope with this.
She was, she was all over the place, because she needs to be in nature.
So it, it's, yeah, so it's having that discernment and being very conscious all the time and mindful around this person, this, this place, this work, this, what is topping me up? What is neutral and what is depleting me.

(18:43):
and I, and I love that, that proximity as well and being able to have those tools and the time limit.
So that's, it's taking more ownership of it, isn't it? being in the driving seat and, you know, I, I often think what a different world it would be if.
When I'm teaching my classes, you know, live or in person classes, I think, oh my gosh, this is just the most fabulous start to the, to the day.

(19:05):
We are, we are working our bodies, we are dropping into deeper alignment.
Imagine if everybody had the awareness of how impactful this could be on our own health, but also on our relationships and therefore on our choices and on the planet.
it would just be so different, wouldn't it? If as well as exercising.
And I, there's so much more exercise out there, so many options now, which is fab.

(19:29):
And I love that you are starting to really shine this light on.
And what about your energetics? What about your essence and what you are here to bring to the world? I would, I would love to hear if you have any tips.
So for example, we have such a, a noisy world, so if you were on the tube going to.
On the underground going to work or whatever it is.

(19:50):
or in a busy supermarket or something.
If you're in a situation that doesn't vibe with you, what would be a tool out of your toolbox that you might use to, to align yourself, you know, to, to lift your vibration and to protect yourself in that situation? great question.
And I have so many energy boundary tools, and one that I share with my clients that has had really good results is using visualizations.

(20:18):
So visualizations are so powerful because the minds we're able to command changes in our body simply through our thoughts.
And, you know, if you were to visualize yourself biting into chocolate and feeling that chocolate, visualizing that chocolate melting onto your tongue.

(20:43):
I've got it.
I've got it there.
That's the easy one for me.
So good.
your mouth were, your tongue would start to salivate and your belly would start to rumble.
There is no chocolate.
And yet our thoughts have commanded changes to prepare the body for this amazing chocolate to be digested.

(21:06):
And that's the power of our mind.
And that is just the power of visualization.
And so we can use these energy protective tools and these visualizations to set a command for us not to absorb the energy of others.
And so when I was talking about, the energy investments and the energy budgets before, the reason is because of energy transferal, we absorb the energy of others.

(21:33):
All the time.
And as I was saying before, it can only take five minutes and you might want to lie down.
If you are around, vibrations that are on the lowest of end of the scale of that kind of baseline of energy, we all hold and it works the other way.
If you meet someone with a really high vibration, when they walk into the room, they literally light up the room.

(21:55):
And when you're around them, you feel motivated, you feel excited, you wanna get things done.
So we're always having this dance of energy exchanges all the time.
But a tool that I give my clients, especially if they move, there are different ones for different scenarios.
And so this one, I share for clients that are moving around areas where there's lots of people.

(22:18):
So if you can imagine one person can deplete you, moving through airports, moving through, Shopping centers.
I work with a lot of, you know, singers, who fill out stadiums and like we are surrounded by so many people.
And, and to your point before that is a lot of noise.
That is a lot of information that we are digesting.

(22:40):
That's a lot of energy that we are moving through.
and it makes it really hard sometimes when we're surrounded by so much energy that belongs to other people for us to dial in and hear our own, navigate our own thoughts, our own desires, our own wants, because we're responding to the world around us, and trying to navigate the noise.

(23:02):
And so the visualization is simply visualizing yourself in the middle of a disco ball.
And so this disco ball is all the way around you.
All the mirrors are facing outwards and everyone's energy is just bouncing off the mirrors.
Away from you, not directly back to the person because all the mirrors are an angle.

(23:26):
So everyone's energy is just pinging off you.
And you can move through the world in the middle of this amazing disco ball without absorbing the energy of others.
And it doesn't matter, if this disco ball touches other people as you're moving through crowds, simply having that visualization where the mirrors are bouncing energy away from you will set the command for your body not to store, not to absorb and not to hold the frequency and the energy that the people around you are holding.

(24:00):
And you can do that, when you're moving around, areas with lots of people, but you can do it in one-to-one situations as well.
if you find that you are.
Starting to feel energy that isn't yours, like heaviness, sadness, or you find that you're being very distracted by, the energy someone else is displaying, whether it is grief, anger, anxiety, stress.

(24:24):
These things are contagious.
and that's why laughing is contagious.
You know, the energies are, interchanged.
So if you do find that someone else's anger is starting to land on your chest or weigh you down, you can just instantly through your thoughts, put yourself in the middle of that disco ball and just ping their anger, their frustration, their stress, which they, you know, it's okay for people to be angry.

(24:52):
There's, there are reasons to be angry in the world, but you don't need to absorb it.
You don't need to carry it, you don't need to take responsibility for it.
Yeah.
That's so beautiful.
I love that.
I'm gonna definitely use that.
It also feels like it's, It is not like you're trying to push someone's energy away.
You're not having to take away from yourself to protect yourself.

(25:12):
It just feels quite light and quite fun.
That image.
I'm just imagining like the strict label, the strictly Yes.
Perfect.
I'm dancing Glit Ball.
That's it.
The Glit Ball.
and I was also just sensing, like you said, how energies are contagious and I'm sure we can all, we've all had an experience with that light laughing, you know, when you hear anyone laugh, but children laugh, you know, and equally, I remember actually when my 10-year-old was a baby, her best friend was crying and Sarah started crying too.

(25:44):
And it was, it was just, she was just looking at her and it was, she, I could just see her feeling the emotions and it was just so beautiful to see, you know, it just, we are born with these empathetic.
Powers superpowers, I suppose, unless we know how to harness them.
So it can be a very beautiful superpower, being able to sense others' energies.
But equally, if we don't have that awareness of, oh gosh, they do transfer into me, it can be very dangerous.

(26:10):
And I was also thinking, you know, I think a lot of the time, especially when we turn on the news, things can be very overwhelming.
And I, I guess they are, they're meant to be that way, to keep us small, to keep, you know, us in our places and to feel like we are powerless.
But actually it's very empowering to own your energy because it is contagious.

(26:37):
So if we can lift our energy, that is possibly one of the biggest, marks we can make on the world actually.
not just through the things that we create, but just the energetic prayer and imprint that we're putting out into everybody around us.
That feels really nice.
A hundred percent agree.

(26:57):
So in energy Tank, I would love just to get an idea of what happens in an energy tank session.
Are they an hour long and they're once a month? Yeah.
So I was very lucky when I started my residency doing one-to-ones at Soho House.
once people started to know about them, a few months in they started selling out so quickly these, these sessions.

(27:21):
and that was, I think it was 2022.
I started at Soho House, but consistently I've had like three month waiting lists.
and so I've been looking for.
Ideas and solutions to make energy work more accessible to people.
and so this is my answer to that.
This is your monthly online group energy activation for people that are curious about how to start looking after this energy that we hold, this frequency that we hold.

(27:54):
this is your maintenance.
This is your reset.
I do them on the first Sunday of every month.
And every month we will, I will clear your energy, I will reset your energy, and I will boost and optimize your energy.
But every month there are additional themes of what I can feel and sense, that container, that group of people, will need.

(28:19):
So.
This energy that we hold, this field of energy, that courses through us, also surrounds us.
We have, you know, our energy, will sit outside of us.
in science, they call it a biofield of energy.
In spiritual communities, you'll call it your ORIC field, and some people can see it and it holds colors.

(28:40):
and this outer edge, like the outer edges of our, energy can, get bruised.
It can have.
Rips and tears and leaks.
And so in last month's energy tank, I really focused on sealing these outer edges of your energy field.

(29:01):
and I can also feel and ideas with my one-to-ones.
I can also sense when emotions I've got stuck in the body.
So these are emotions that we've pushed down that have been driven down.
These are also emotions that we've absorbed from other people that don't belong to us, or these might be words of expression that we have swallowed, that we have, pushed down into our system.

(29:24):
And so I was helping to release all of these stuck emotions that we have not given attention to, made space for, whether they're ours or they belong to other people in a very safe way.
I help that energy leave your system, these sort of stuck, dense emotions that.
when they get stuck in our system, they stop the flow of energy coursing through us and, and these sort of dense areas in our body, get denser and denser.

(29:52):
The more that we swallow our words or the more that we, ignore our emotions or detach from, the waves of emotions that are causing through us, we push them down and down and further into our system.
and yeah, they're really, really beautiful.
And the feedback I've had from the people that have been joining, I've had, we've done two months so far.

(30:15):
We've got the next one on the 3rd of August.
People are just messaging me afterwards who've never done energy work.
And that's the whole reason why I'm doing this because my one-to-ones are 220 for a session with me, but these are 25 pounds.
And if 25 pounds is an amount, that's a bit of a stretch for people at that moment in time, they can message me, we can work something out, to give them a discount code to make it more affordable because I just believe everyone should know and have access to this energy stuff, this way of looking after ourselves.

(30:53):
And yeah, people that have never done any energy work will message me after to just be like me.
I dunno what that was, but I was, Burping and I don't really cry, but tears were streaming down my eyes and I was yawning and I could feel you pulling out energy from my system.
so some people have very visceral, very, physical experiences and other people will be able to feel energy moving around their womb.

(31:19):
yeah, everyone's experiences are so different and are so amazing.
And, I know with the one-to-one work that I do, like just how transformative energy work can be that I've really been looking about, uh, thinking about how to make this work much more accessible to more audiences and just demystify, this space that I work in because once you've experienced it and once you start to incorporate it in your life, you can't really deny.

(31:53):
The experience or how much lighter you feel, or just how much more clarity you have and the aha moments that my clients have either during the session or right afterwards are just monumental.
And so I feel really proud and really excited that this container, this space, is exists.

(32:15):
And yeah, hearing the message from everyone afterwards just makes it all worthwhile.
Oh, it sounds wonderful.
something that was popping in when you were speaking, what has been coming through for me recently with regards to energy, I feel like now that is my main mode of communication is energy.
So rather than being in my head, which I still am, you know, that's a work in progress.

(32:41):
but instead of just kind of going round and round and round trying to make decisions or.
Knowing which path to take you can actually drop into your body and, and drop into your energy.
And what lights me up? What depletes me if I take a step forward towards this? Does it, does it feel like a yes in my body? Does it feel like a expansion or retraction? And I, yeah, for me, it, it does make life feel clearer.

(33:08):
and often, you know, the, the next right step for you wouldn't necessarily be the right step for somebody else.
You, you couldn't learn this from a book, or you couldn't call your best friend and ask them, because it's your knowing, isn't it? This, this energy work is your primal, ancient knowing that's beyond just even what's in front of you and the words that you've heard or the information that you've got.

(33:30):
Cerebrally, it's, it's much further reaching than that.
You know, it's, this is our connection, I suppose, to.
To the universe, to mother nature, to the infinite thread through time.
I mean, I'm okay.
I feel like I'm zooming out now, but I love it, Rachel.
I love it.
Yeah.
It's, and that's so incredible.

(33:51):
And to be able to make that accessible again, what a different world that we would, could live in.
We can live in.
And we have lived in, in the past where we, we just tune into ourselves and it's like, no, this is a yes, this is a no.
Or I don't know yet, and that's okay.
And maybe I'll know, you know, another time.
so yeah.
I love that.

(34:11):
Well, what I was gonna say is I love that you have that, and if anyone listening is like, I want that, how do I do it? Mm-hmm.
a conversation and, and, and a way that I share with a lot of my clients is understanding that we have different brain centers.
That we have our brain brain that is.
Incredible.

(34:32):
It holds so much information and data.
And when we make decisions using our brain, it will start to filter through past experiences, through data, through information.
but we also have our heart, brain.
And so when we drop from our head into our heart, the way that our heart filters is exactly what you said, it's through feeling.

(34:53):
and so our brain, brain will use logic data information, but it can take quite a long time to go through all that information.
The pros and cons are endless and they continue to, grow.
And so if we are asking our brain, brain, the fastest way to get to work, it will know, how to give you that information.

(35:18):
But if we jumped from our brain, brain into our heart, brain, and we asked our hearts.
What way should I go to work today? the answer that comes up will come from this knowing, this sense of reading information that is around us that our brain, brain just doesn't have access to.
And so using logic, our brain might tell us, go down such and such avenue, turn rights, walk straight ahead.

(35:45):
but our heart, brain might say, no.
We want you to go down a completely different route today to get to if you want to get to work on time.
And if we listen to our heart in those moments, our heart will defy logic.
And you might realize only upon getting to work that a tree had fallen down on the road, that would've normally been much faster.

(36:09):
and our heart is able to tune into that energy that surrounds us.
And so when we are learning to build that muscle of listening to our heart, of listening into that more sensory, intuitive, deeper knowing, the way that I teach that is to start asking yes no questions.
So dropping consciously from our head down into our heart and asking from that sensory place of how does this feel? a yes no question.

(36:40):
And to use, really easy everyday questions like, do I want, a second cup of tea? How does that feel? Yes or no? The mind would be like, yep, it's three o'clock time for my next tea, let's go.
Whereas when we drop into the heart, and it's more of a sense of feeling.
The heart might want to be more curious and try and matcha, even though you don't normally get matcha, and sort of break that loop of what the mind is trying to get you to do.

(37:08):
So I always say, start asking yourself yes or no questions on everything, on absolutely everything.
And see what comes up from that sense of how does this feel? Does it feel good? Yes or no? do I lean towards it, yes or no? Mm-hmm.
That's really helpful.
And then I suppose the more, then you get more data, don't you? Oh gosh, this worked out, this worked out, this worked out.

(37:29):
It's, I can follow my heart.
I'm, I'm getting much better at it.
'cause the muscles getting stronger.
I know you kindly said that you would give me a very mini energy reading.
Just so you know, I and our listeners can have a, a little bit of an idea around if they were to work with you one-on-one, what that might look like.
I mean, obviously this is a very mini speedy one.

(37:51):
but that would be lovely.
Yeah, sure.
You know, what I do is I help people with very specific energy challenges that are, are coming up.
And then I can also read the energy and see what's going on energetically, like in the frequency, how you are holding energy, how energy is being stored.

(38:12):
And you know, you are someone that is very intuitive.
You are someone that I can sense already and, and, and I already had a knowing of this, intuitively, but you're someone that not just reads the room, but you are someone that walks into the room and you feel the room.
You can feel what Steven, who seats further down is feeling as soon as you enter the room.

(38:37):
And you talked a little bit about this before, like these things are your absolute superpower, but it's really understanding and that's why I feel passionately to teach these things how to, Make them your superpower as opposed to having them be quite overwhelming, if you know.
Mm-hmm.
Steven is going through a bit of a hard time, a few seats down.
It's like sonar waves impacting your energy field.

(38:59):
Mm-hmm.
And often people that are very sensitive to energy and you sort of fit into that category will sometimes need to hermit and stay in the cave until you are fully charged and then you are just like bouncing off the energy around you.
But then there's this sort of pendulum of going out into the world, retreating, filling up your tank, going back out into the world.

(39:22):
yeah, so you absorb a lot, a lot of energy and data information very quickly.
So you are reading information that not everyone has access to.
so your, your BS radar is super fast, super high.
You can call BS if the.
And the body language, what someone was saying, doesn't match the frequency.

(39:45):
You can cut through that, you know that.
But if there's a certain challenge, energy challenge that you're moving through that you'd like guided on, I'm happy to.
Yeah, that would be great.
and yeah, you're so right.
Yeah.
Always tuning into Steven two seats down.
yeah.
And no doubt from Steven, but you just don't wanna be feeling his stuff.

(40:06):
No good stuff, isn't it? You know? And it works the other way.
You can get really charged by people as well.
You can really get charged by your environment.
so it's just really mastering this skillset, this, ability that you have.
Mm.
Which it sounds like you do.
Yeah.
I, so my challenge is, it is, I mean, you've, you've said you've set the stage for it.

(40:30):
Really, it's just this.
Empath, which I love about me.
and so it's a very practiced skill, this tuning in and seeing, you know, that's, that's how I run my classes.
That's, and even going back to my ballet days, it was what are they thinking? What are they thinking? What are, you know? And it was so loud what everybody else is thinking and what everybody else is feeling.

(40:52):
And I think that's what, you know, makes me great at what I do because I'm able to tune in and to give people what they need to feel better in the moment, so that it's fabulous.
When that's in balance and it's in check, where I feel like I need support, my challenge is I, I'm able to tune in and to hear my yeses and my nos and my deep inner wisdom when I am quiet, when I've, you know, put time to meditate, which I do every day.

(41:26):
So that's a, a really strong practice of mine.
So I'm, I'm able to feel like I'm in my thread.
However, if somebody else's reality is very strong and it is maybe opposing to my reality, I feel the leaks.
I feel the leaks.
And what my wish would be is I really want to protect my sacred knowing and be truly brave enough to act on it.

(41:52):
I wanna plug those leaks, I think, so it's, I can see, I can see your experience, I can see your experience, and I don't want it to hit me straight into my heart that I feel someone else's experience.
I wanna protect my sacred knowing and be brave enough to act on that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Thank you.
And I love that you have access to it, and it's such a beautiful thing to be able to hear.

(42:18):
The whispers of our intuition and our inner knowing, but our intuition, whilst we're developing that connection, it does whisper.
It is quiet.
And we live in a very noisy world.
And so to your point, if we are not in an environment where we have, everything in place in terms of our rituals and our quiet environments in place, when we're just navigating life and moving through the world, how to hear the whispers of that intuition? that's, that's coming up.

(42:51):
so what I would really advise is around, your energy hygiene in regards to.
You are someone that's very porous and is my sense in terms of how you absorb energy and how you receive energy.
And I think, when we are empaths, when we do feel the room, we don't just read the room.

(43:15):
We will sometimes take responsibility for the energy that is in front of us.
and we'll want to be that fixer that makes everyone around us.
Okay.
And I think something that can kind of give context and help in those moments is understanding there is an element of us as an empath that needs everyone around us to be okay.

(43:43):
So that we are okay.
And so part of it is survival.
I need you to have a neutral, calm, nervous system so that I can have a calm, nervous system.
Because if you are spiky and aggravated and stressed, then it hits my system like million tiny paper cuts and this isn't fun.

(44:06):
So sometimes as an empath we will be the fixer from a point of survival.
So it's just understanding, what are we taking responsibility for when we're trying to fix those energies around us and really understanding that actually even if we do have the solutions, even if we do have the strength and the ability to help those people, that actually it's disempowering individual.

(44:32):
and something I share a lot with my audiences is, when a baby is learning to walk.
And it falls over.
We have to let that child, that baby understand if I put my hands in front of me, how do I get up if I put my friends? So this hands to the side of me, how do I get up? What's the fastest way to lift myself back up again? If we're constantly just picking up that child and being like, okay, so look, you're back in your feet.

(44:58):
They will never learn.
And it, and it's the same with the people that we share our spaces with, that we have relationships with.
If we're constantly fixing everything for them, they're never going to one even know they can do it themselves and they're just not gonna learn how to do it themselves if you are not around.
and just understanding how disempowering it's for that person can start to ease off the, the, the desire and the trigger to help fix and, uh, help those people around us, even if we know the answers, even if we know the easy solutions.

(45:31):
so having that mindset really.
Does shift something when we are moving through the world and we are kind of facing these different energies, but the energy maintenance and hygiene piece is then not even if we have absorbed the energy of others and taken responsibility for that energy and taken it on our shoulders, clearing it.

(45:53):
So at the end of every day, my suggestion would be, whilst you're brushing your teeth, doing something that you know you're gonna do every evening, is to set the command.
I return any energy that does not belong to me, back to sender.
Mm-hmm.
And set in that command so that any energy that you have absorbed, and we will sometimes choose to absorb the energy of others.

(46:23):
'cause we think they can't handle it or it's too much for them.
And we see ourselves as strong beings.
And so we will be like, I'll take that.
I'll take that energy subconsciously, take that energy and put it on our shoulders and then just walk through the day with this extra heaviness that we have absorbed.
and so a way to kind of release that frequency is every evening before going to sleep, before going into that sort of astral deep reset.

(46:54):
dream space is to clear any energy on a daily, as a daily practice that you have absorbed that does not belong to you.
So setting that command.
Yeah, I release any energy that does not belong to me, back to sender.
And I wanna explain sometimes I've had, Clients or questions asking like, why am I sending it back to sender? Because if I've absorbed it, it's because that person's going through a hard time.

(47:21):
Why would I send that energy back to the person? Why would I not send it to the light? Why would I not send it to love? Or why would I not send it into the ground or something? And look, you can do those things.
You can choose to do those things, but we have a rhythm i, a dynamic, a template that we set with people.

(47:45):
And so if they subconsciously know that they can energetically dump their heaviness on you, that is the template.
That is the dynamic that you're signing up for if you do not send it back to sender.
and so we want to break any template where that is embedded.

(48:10):
By returning it to the person it came from.
because we know that, you know, emotionally people might dump on us.
the same things happens with energy and it's like there might be people in our life that just need to talk to you, need to be around you and then feel like everything's okay.
They leave, they're absolutely fine and you are left feeling like so heavy, so drained.

(48:36):
'cause energetically they have dumped so much.
So at the end of every single day, I return any energy that does not belong to me, back to sender.
Do it whilst you're brushing your teeth.
and then go to sleep lighter before that dream-Like reset that you get when you go to sleep.
This is amazing.
I do, you know what, now you're saying that return to sender, I remember after your, was it the press? The press, what did I come to your, it wasn't the, the, it was a press launch for my book.

(49:06):
Press launch.
I was gonna say press release, but No, it was press launch.
and you said that there, I'm sure you must have said it there 'cause I'm just hearing it again for the second time.
And I used that for a while.
Just return to sender.
Return to sender.
So it's so nice that you are reminding me.
Yeah, just for That's so easy, isn't it? Doesn't to me, doesn't belong to me.
Doesn't belong to me.

(49:26):
That's yours.
You know, you can take that back and do whatever you will with it.
Thank you very much.
yeah.
That's so brilliant.
you know, I'm aware we've only got a few minutes.
I've got a couple more questions to ask you if that's okay.
thank you for that.
can I ask about, you know, you said about being porous.
Is there an image that you would use or would share with somebody to become less porous? so in exercise we do every month in energy tank is breathing in golden light.

(50:02):
So again, another visualization.
We're breathing in this golden light.
We are filling up every single cell.
We're activating and resetting and waking up any dormant cells and flooding them with this light so that it's flooding every single cell, every single atom in your physical being.
And with every visual, every inhale, we then push that golden light right to the outer edges of our energy fields that surrounds us.

(50:30):
And with the inhales towards the end, we are directing that golden light to seal any tears, any rips, any uh, paper cuts.
Any bruising to those outer edges, and we're sealing it so that your physical body, your emotional body, and this energy that surrounds you is completely sealed in this golden light and it's being nourished.

(50:58):
And that is part of, the energy care that you can do when it comes to sealing these little leaks that energy can go in and out of.
So that's an amazing meditation, that's an amazing visualization that, I've developed into energy tank.
But what I would say and what I have seen after giving hundreds, if not honestly, thousands of energy healing sessions, Rachel, is I have seen there is a correlation with my clients who have poor energy boundaries, will have poor boundaries.

(51:36):
Also in life.
And what I mean by that is no is not part of their, lexicon.
Like that is not, a word that they feel comfortable using.
Often people with poor, energy boundaries will be people pleasers and, there's no judgment.
It's just an acknowledgement and an understanding that the more you compromise yourself to put other people first, the more that you are, sacrificing your needs for the needs of others.

(52:11):
Every single time you do that, it's another little paper cut.
and so a really fast way to start strengthening your energy field, this biofield of energy that, scientists have recognized surrounds every single cell in our body.
Is to improve our boundaries in life, to say no when we need to rest, to not be a people pleaser, to speak into our desires in real time or to at least course correct.

(52:44):
If we recognize, you know what I said, I would do X, Y, ZI do not have enough energy in the tank.
I've recognized that.
I'm not burnt out, but I am running on empty.
And take that moment to course Correct the, actions or, the things that you've signed up for.
yeah.

(53:04):
If we are pushing and compromising our health, our mental health, our emotional health, all of these sacrifices, all of these compromises to solve our reflected in that outer, Energy field, that boundary that holds our, frequency.
And then when we have all of these tiny paper cuts, whether there's tiny, tiny, and there's loads of them or there's like big gases, they leak energy.

(53:31):
So if you have a lot of leaks in your energy field, you are someone that might be able to restore your energy very quickly, but also get tired very quickly.
Mm-hmm.
And so if you recognize that that's you, if you're listening to this and you're like, I get tired all the time, a solution can be as simple as addressing any people placing tendencies or poor boundaries that you have in certain.

(53:59):
Areas of work or, or relationships that you have.
Yeah, I mean, this is just so fabulous.
I feel I, everyone I know, I think Will, will resonate with this.
yeah.
Thank you so much.
I know we're running out of time.
I just wanted to touch on your book, your, your recent beautiful, beautiful book, the Fashion Oracle.

(54:20):
what do I wanna ask about it? Oh, just have a think if there's anything you want to share about it.
I mean, we could have done a whole episode on this.
and maybe we will another time because what, what I love about your book is the archetypes.
So talking about, it's, again, it's imagery, isn't it? It's imagery, but it's also the energy of each archetype.
and do you have 70 archetypes in the book? Is it, is that correct? Is it as many as that? Yeah.

(54:44):
Yeah.
So the fashion oracle is, This coffee table, beautifully illustrated book with 70 different archetypes illustrated by the most amazing fashion illustrator, Joanna Layla.
Yeah, she's, and we work really closely, oh, she's a dream book to, to, to work and collaborate with.
And, I'm someone that has a lot of ritual in my life.

(55:06):
I'm someone that has really learned how to pause and to tune into the energy that I hold.
And really the purpose of the book was to give the reader a moment to pause and to think about the energy that they want to move through in life.
But it's all through the lens of the clothes that we wear, and how we can consciously and intentionally change our frequency through, the clothes that we wear.

(55:34):
And so I describe it as, tarot, but for fashion.
So you ask the oracle, the book, your fashion dilemma, your fashion question, what should I wear, to this wedding where I know, uh, someone that I dated a long time ago is gonna be there? Like, what, what should I wear? What kind of energy should I have? You can ask that question to the book.

(55:58):
You flick through the book, you open it around and you'll land on one of these 70 different archetypes.
And the archetype will give you what colors to wear, what silhouettes to wear, to embody the energy of the archetype that you have landed on.
And every archetype will also give you, the wisdom of what energy is gonna support you as you step into.

(56:23):
Your day, like what energy is needed? so you, you might land on the lioness and the lioness is all about boundaries.
so the lioness really understands when it's a time to simply show her teeth and growl and when it is a time to raw her expressions and her desires into the world and communicate those with the people around her.

(56:47):
and so the lioness will invite you to wear, colors of gold and camel to consciously and intentionally step into that fierce feminine, whether you identify as a woman or not, we all have these aspects within us.
And so when we tap into the fierce feminine within us, it's very unapologetic.

(57:11):
It's it's very assertive and it knows how to not.
Choose to dial down our femininity in order to still be assertive, to still give direction around what is acceptable and what's not.
and so every archetype there will be guidance on either an affirmation or a meditation to tune in deeper with each of these archetypes.

(57:37):
but it's amazing and the results that people are getting and the ways that people's energies are shifting intentionally, through changing their outer layers and then seeing how that dials into their inner worlds and then how the outer worlds corresponds with this new frequency they stepped into has been so beautiful.

(57:58):
and I get excited 'cause it adds in that moment to pause that moment to have a ritual when we are getting dressed anyway.
And consciously playing with our energy when it's not a moment of crisis, when it's not a moment of, despair.
It's just what energy is gonna support me and how can I consciously, and intentionally create that energy, surround myself in that energy.

(58:27):
Mm, that's beautiful.
You know, it's another layer of imagery, isn't it? It's rather than just me, Rachel, I need to do this on my own.
No.
I'm gonna step into my lioness archetype.
I'm gonna step into my lover, my mother.
My queen.
it's just that extra layer of imagery and energy behind you, which I think is so gorgeous.
And I, and I love that it, you've tied this in so beautifully with fashion, that you know, you can adorn yourself.

(58:52):
We said this word before, didn't we? Adorn yourself with the jewelry that you want to wear, with the colors, with the clothes, with the textures, because of course, all of these things are a vibration.
They're a message back to your own body.
And then there are a message out to everybody that receives it.
So rather than, I'm gonna wear this 'cause this is the most fashionable thing, but oh, I feel so uncomfortable, you know, my belly is popping over the top of this, and all day, you know, you might look kind of okay, but you feel horrible.

(59:18):
It's like, no, how can I, how can this be an extension of the vibration that I want to be resonating with? And, and what I, what I want is, it's like a prayer again, out into the universe, isn't it? and bringing, you know, we might have our sage, we might have our affirmations.
And, and now actually I can adore myself and be reminded.
All day long.
And I'm setting that affirmation for everybody else to see, this is me, this is my wild woman.

(59:43):
I could or not, she's here.
Yeah.
And it's that permission slip to step into these aspects that we all hold.
The wild woman, the lioness, the mother, the ucs, we all hold these different aspects, but we don't always necessarily know how to connect with them.
And so that's what the book will guide you on, is how to step into that energy, and how to connect to that aspect of yourself.

(01:00:07):
And there's a reason you've landed on that archetype.
That archetype wants to be known, that architect wants to take up space.
and so you can step into it unapologetically, but it's also that little personal woowoo stylist that's gonna give you, a really quick edit of what to wear in your wardrobe that will not only have you.

(01:00:31):
You know, feeling great, but we'll also be playing with the energy and the frequencies that we all hold.
I just, I find it really fun and playful.
Oh, I know.
I just, it's so fabulous.
It's so fabulous.
So I just want to talk for three more days with you, but we should wrap up.
but can you tell us where people can find you online? Oh, or in person.

(01:00:52):
Yeah.
I suppose the easiest place is Instagram, Neve Tierney.
and then my website is neve tierney.com.
I have a residency at the Soho House in Sho Ditch.
I've put a new residency coming up at Saran in Knightsbridge.
But really the way people work with me is virtually online sessions.

(01:01:14):
I've got lots of international clients in Australia, Dubai, New York, Paris, Los Angeles, and a lot of clients that travel a lot.
So online has been.
So great that they can dial in, get that energy check-in with me, and then not have to travel through the city when their energy's like been reset and they can do it in the comfort of their own home.

(01:01:37):
Or I do these online energy check-ins that are designed for people that are in their offices or in their spaces.
but for those that would like to incorporate energy care as part of their self-care toolkit, energy tank is what I've designed to really, help give people that regular energy support, that regular energy check-in.

(01:01:59):
Mm-hmm.
And I think you've been kind enough to share a discount code with our aligned listeners, so we'll, we'll pop that.
Yes.
thank you so much.
Oh, thank you.
Thank you so much for everything you do.
Thank you for, you know, sharing your time with us today for, I feel like all of these messages are gonna keep, Just keep expanding and keep resonating and they'll drop in and make more and more and more and more sense.

(01:02:22):
and you have got such a beautiful way of just, it's simplifying it and bringing it into the everyday and making it accessible.
And I know that's your mission, but you're doing it.
And I just, yeah, I think you're wonderful.
So yeah.
Thank you so much.
That's very kind.
Thank you, Rachel.
And thank you for having me.
It's such an honor to be having this conversation with you because I know that you also hold such, a beautiful, delicate, thoughtful way of navigating this world.

(01:02:52):
And you, the work that you do has been so interesting to learn more about as we've got to know each other.
so thank you so much.
It's been, um, such a compliment to be invited and to speak to you today.
Aw, thank you so much my darling.
And I hope to see you soon.
