This guided meditation emphasises mindfulness and body awareness, specifically focusing on the bladder. It encourages you to take deep breaths, bring full attention to your body's present state, and appreciate the body's intelligence in self-regulation. The meditation promotes gratitude towards the bladder, recognising its continuous work and addressing any undue pressures it might be under.

(00:01):
Take a comfortable seat and place one hand over your heart and one hand right down on your very lower belly, just hovering in front of your bladder, and take a couple of slow, deep breaths, slowly bringing your focus, your attention into your incredibly intelligent body.

(00:28):
And really fully dropping into this present moment.
How are you really, how are you really, how are you truly feeling in this moment? And just allow yourself.

(00:55):
Some space to consider or to receive that information.
And the magic about presence and connection is that it allows us this opportunity to actually self-regulate.

(01:24):
Drop into the technology of that your body knows how to regulate.
Observe any unnecessary or extra holding that might be going on in your body, your brain, your jaw, your shoulders.

(01:50):
Your diaphragm, your belly, your bladder, your hips, your feet.
And remember, we struggle to let go when we don't receive, when we forget how to receive.
So receive the support of your skeleton of the floor, the chair underneath you.

(02:14):
Remember that you are supported.
You can let go.
You don't have to hold it all together and scan your body for any sense of urgency or rush or tension or panic.

(02:42):
And again, that comes back to this.
Forgetting how to trust, forgetting how to receive the support from your body, how to breathe, how to drop into the present moment where actually time has this funny way of stretching out.

(03:07):
Like my dear friend Sarah Tacy says, can opt out of urgency.
Opt into presence and now bringing awareness down to your bladder, this muscular organ shapeshifter reservoir, this adaptive organ that like any part of our body.

(03:40):
It can overwork at times, can feel under pressure.
So taking your focus to your bladder and just feeling it, being aware of it.
Bladder, I see you, I see everything that you do all day and all night for me.

(04:06):
And in this moment, really have gratitude for your bladder, which I know can be difficult if you feel like something is wrong with it.
But just see all the jobs that it does and begin to lean into the reasons why it might be struggling.

(04:30):
Does it feel under too much pressure? Does it have this sense of urgency and panic that may not even have started here that might belong to another part of your body or even a dynamic outside of your body? And can we start to reframe? How we see this incredibly intelligent organ when our bodies quote unquote go wrong.

(05:06):
I believe they're asking for more support.
It's a clue.
It's not broken.
It's a clue.
So in this moment, let's send some gratitude and love and appreciation.
To our bladders, so you could say in your head or out loud.

(05:31):
My bladder is strong.
My bladder is flexible.
My bladder is capable.
My bladder is relaxed.

(05:52):
My bladder is strong, my bladder is capable.
My bladder is flexible, my bladder is relaxed, and you can add any phrases that feel resonant for you.

(06:17):
And really know the power of this feedforward loop, what you not just think into reality, but believe into reality.
It's new information coming from brain into cells via nervous system.

(06:42):
To spend a couple more moments in love and appreciation of your clever bladder, and perhaps with the promise that for the time being, you won't berate it.

(07:07):
Or even perhaps feel overly frustrated with it, but you can start to listen to it.
What is the deeper message? What is it asking for? Why is it not coping? This is your body's wisdom.
Your body isn't broken.

(07:40):
Allowing your breath to become a little deeper and a little more global as if you could breathe into every single cell of your body, imagining your body as this interconnected web ecosystem.

(08:01):
And an ecosystem that we need to tune into that we can't just neglect.
It deserves the very, very best care.
Begin to wriggle your fingers and wriggle your toes, and wriggle your face.
You can bring your hands down onto your legs and slowly open your eyes.

(08:25):
And go about the rest of your day knowing that you are strong, you are capable, you are flexible, you are reliable, and you've got your own back.
