What happens when generosity flows from deep conviction?
In this episode, we explore the soul givers—those whose generosity is rooted in a deep spiritual foundation. These individuals are driven by obedience, connection to the Spirit, and a profound desire to reflect God’s heart through their giving. Their posture is one of surrender, sacrifice, and steadfast faithfulness, often giving in ways that go far beyond their finances.
We focus on two distinct profiles:
Faithful Stewards – Motivated by obedience and responsibility. These givers are guided by the Word and Spirit, committed to consistent giving through every season. What often begins as simple acts of discipline can lead to radical generosity fueled by trust in God’s provision.
Compassion Givers – Motivated by love for those who suffer. Often shaped by personal pain or powerful moments of empathy, these givers are drawn toward causes that feel deeply personal. They invest their whole selves—time, talent, and treasure—into specific missions where they feel called to stand in the gap.
We also look honestly at some of the cautions that come with these motivations. But these challenges are met with wisdom and strength when other motivations are integrated over time.
If you identify as a soul giver, you’re part of the spiritual backbone of the generosity movement. Your faithfulness, empathy, and willingness to sacrifice reflect God’s character in powerful ways.

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
