En junio de 2020, Iván Chimas Medina presenció cómo los cerros de su pueblo, Oxkutzcab, en Yucatán, se desgajaban a consecuencia de una fuerte tormenta tropical llamada Cristóbal. Tras el paso de Cristóbal, Iván conectó con su potencia interior para responderse: “¿Y yo qué puedo hacer?”. Esto lo llevó a reflexionar sobre la exigencia a las autoridades, ligada a la reparación del daño, la promoción y protección de Derechos Humanos y la protección de personas defensoras.
