Dr. John Gray is a psychiatrist and synaptic biologist and an Associate Professor of Neurology at University of California Davis. Dr. Gray is also Associate Director for UC Davis Institute for Psychedelics and Neurotherapeutics and Principal Investigator for the eponymous Gray Lab at UC Davis Center for Neuroscience. In this in depth conversation, Dr. Gray talks about his research in synaptic plasticity in the brain and the key role it plays in neuroplasticity, or how the brain can "rewire" itself. Dr. Gray also talks about his research on how psychedelics can induce neuroplasticity and understanding the biological mechanisms holds promise for treatment of brain disorders affecting mental health.
