Mai 2025 gestalteten Elīna Garanča und Malcolm Martineau einen poetischen Liederabend im Großen Musikvereinssaal – von Respighi und Berlioz über lettische Komponisten bis zu Alban Berg, bei dem Garančas persönliche Hommage an ihre lettische Heimat einen emotionalen Höhepunkt bildete. Im anschließenden Artist Talk mit Moderatorin Haide Tenner zum Thema „Wie wollen wir zusammenleben?“ sprach die Mezzosopranistin unter anderem über die Rolle von Musik im gesellschaftlichen Leben, das Gemeinschaftsgefühl durch Chorsingen, ihre Schirmherrschaft für das Projekt „Power of Music“ sowie über mögliche Ursachen für eine zunehmende Gereiztheit in der Gesellschaft.
