This week we review the 1969 American road drama film Easy Rider written by Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper, and Terry Southern, produced by Fonda, and directed by Hopper.
Fonda and Hopper play two bikers who travel through the American Southwest and South, carrying the proceeds from a cocaine deal with a young Jack Nicholson in tow.
The success of Easy Rider helped spark the New Hollywood era of filmmaking during the early 1970s.
With an iconic soundtrack and the French New Wave influence this is an iconic movie and another one the Aussie had not seen.
We discuss some personal stories about growing up in a culture where drugs were frowned upon. We talk about the Aussies lack of confidence in the adrenalin arena when he says "life equals effort".
We tackle the themes of intolerance and we go off track quite a bit talking about our history. The Scotsman tells us about the time he took acid.....allegedly. The Aussie tells us about this time as a repo man.
We talk Harleys, peace, love and freedom.
Enjoy this one man....
