(00:08):
Wayne LowrySo, Jordan, some of the stigma that's around DPC is you talked to some families and they say, yeah, I've already paid for insurance. I've got insurance. Why do I want to add this to my budget as well. How would you respond to that?
Jordan SalmonI like thinking about auto insurance, right? So auto insurance is a perfect example. I don't use my auto insurance to get an oil change, to get my tires rotated, to do just minor repairs and minor things on my cars.
(00:40):
Jordan SalmonI just take care of that myself because if I try and have my insurance company do it, it's going to get real expensive. So what we've been able to do in the direct primary care movement is provide a lot of healthcare outside of that insurance based model that allows it to be way more affordable.
Jordan SalmonSo for example, I actually calculated the cost for a family in this area to use a gold insurance plan versus a high deductible plan paired with a DPC model. The savings for one year for this one family was $10,000.
(01:18):
Wayne LowryWow.
Jordan SalmonThat's a lot of money.
Wayne LowrySo what you're saying is they'd still have the high deductible plan in case they have some kind of catastrophic event but all the day-to-day stuff. They come here, yeah.
Jordan SalmonYeah, absolutely, yeah.
Jordan SalmonThat's what we do exactly. We take care of their primary care. We take care of their chronic care. We take care of a lot of urgent care things, right? And we try and keep people out of the emergency room, right?
Jordan SalmonSo we're saving them money there, too, right? Because you're getting really quick care. I've had a number of patients where we've been able to keep them from going to the emergency room because we are able to take care of them so quickly.
(01:49):
Wayne LowryAnd even with the most premium insurance plan your deductible and your co-pay for an emergency room visit probably pretty close to three or four months worth of DPC coverage.
Jordan SalmonYeah, absolutely.
Wayne LowrySo I mean, even just considering the amount of out of pocket expense even on those gold plans, those platinum plans, they're still going to have quite a bit of out of pocket expense.
(02:10):
Jordan SalmonAbsolutely.
Wayne Lowry
And so that's amazing to hear what you're able to provide. So tell us a little bit about what you're doing for marketing.
Wayne LowryAs far as around the community, I know you mentioned to me you spoke at the Chamber of Commerce recently. How did that go?
Jordan SalmonYeah, yeah, I did.
Jordan SalmonIt was great. We had a good number of people come out. It's a partnership Lake Houston and, you know, Local Chamber of Commerce.
Jordan SalmonI'm so grateful that they let me do that right. Had a little lunch and learn, and we just talked about the direct primary care movement and talked about ways that people can save money with this as a, you know, a model to help meet those needs.
(02:40):
Jordan SalmonSo that's one of the ways I try and get out and, you know, get to know people, do a lot of networking events and talking to people, talking to businesses. That's you just have to let people know you're here. So that's one of the ways in getting on social media.
Jordan SalmonAnd working on our SEO is also an important aspect. It's been valuable to get more people hearing about us. I mean, people live in the technology world now, so if you're not in that technology world, then they don't know you exist.
Wayne LowryHey! So you heard that? SEO is very important so.
(03:10):
Wayne LowryHey, I use Google Maps to get here so that I could let the algorithm see me. Put it in, drive to the location, walk up the stairs before I turned it off.
Jordan SalmonI appreciate that. I need that. Love that.
Wayne LowrySo got to help the algorithm.
