when you think of the Proverbs 31 woman
what do you think
is she somebody you envision to be rushing around
frantically fulfilling her to do list
jam-packing her days with activities that keep her so over
scheduled she can't serve others outside of her family
sleep deprived Moody
and maybe even a little jealous
of the moms out there that send their kids to school

and have free time in their day for themselves
I literally just described myself to you guys
yep and when I Learned about the Proverbs 31 woman
and all the things that encompass her as an individual
I had some really hard convictions
I needed to allow the Lord to deal with
and I'm gonna share those little lessons with you today
in a mini series right here on

if you're new here welcome
my name is Chantelle
and I share quick bite sized words of wisdom
straight from my own walk with god to strengthen yours
cause we don't got time y'all
we are busy moms
and sometimes reading our Bible is a luxury
can I get an amen
so my goal is to ensure you get your Bible time in
because even
though we're chasing toddlers and wiping bums

we're also chasing Jesus
alright so I'm gonna quickly read Proverbs 31 to you
and then we're gonna hone in on a verse that um
that I think is gonna renew your mind
and give you this fresh perspective
you've been craving but let's pray real quick
that the Lord convicts us where we need it
and works with his ever gentle touch

(01:31):
to remove any roadblocks that keep us
from being the best moms we can be
Lord Jesus you're not just our father
you're our friend and today
I pray that the lovely ladies listening to my voice
don't just hear a mom who went through some battles
like they are but I pray they hear you in it all

(01:51):
remove any strongholds or roadblocks from us
that keep us from growing
in your word Lord
and refresh our minds
in this very short time we have together
I thank you in Jesus name amen
all right I am reading from
I'll cover much more of this chapter

over the time we spend together on this story
but just for time sake let's focus in on this part
I'm gonna read fast from the New Living Translation
the NLT a woman who fears the Lord
she will greatly be rewarded to work for her hands
a lamp
and her hands hold the distaff garments of fine linen
strong husband she brings him good
not harm all the days of her life
if you have the freedom to grab a Bible
and follow along
who can find a virtuous and capable wife

she is more precious than rubies
her husband can trust her
and she will greatly enrich his life
she brings him good not harm all the days of her life
she finds wool and flax and busily spins it
she is like a merchant ship bringing her food from afar
she gets up before dawn
to prepare breakfast for her household

(02:55):
and plan the day's work for her servant girls
she goes to inspect a field and buys it
with her earnings she plants a Vineyard
she is energetic and strong
a hard worker
she makes sure her dealings are profitable
her lamp burns late into the night
now here's the scripture we're gonna hone in on today
so listen up

her hands are busy spinning thread
her fingers twisting fiber
she extends a helping hand to the poor
and opens her arms to the needy guys
this lady sounds like she does so much
that she must be run off her feet
yet rundown isn't the woman I envision when I hear this

(03:38):
no if we rush and don't hear what's between the lines
we can miss that golden nugget right here
her hands are busy
yet she extends a helping hand to the poor
how
guys this mama is busy
but not frantic the word busy here
actually just means productive with her time

(04:00):
efficient with her hands doing something
but not abandoning everything else that's important
the beautiful thing about the Proverbs 31 woman
is that she doesn't pack her schedule with errands
she leaves margin in her day to day to do kingdom work
I don't know about you but when God showed me this
I was actually kind of annoyed because back then guys

(04:22):
I was honestly drowning in my schedule
I didn't have time to serve anybody else
except my family and even that was tough
I'm a mom of soon to be five kids
with three of them under 4 years old
like it's nuts over here sometimes
you know yet
the Holy Spirit
gently began to convict my heart about it

(04:43):
and brought my attention to my overloaded
unpredictable schedule and then
he showed me
that I had absolutely no structure in my days
and no extra time for myself
let alone anybody else
does anybody hear what I'm saying
I was running on empty
and hoping to pour into those I love
by accident

(05:04):
guys God didn't breathe life into us
so that we could run around like chickens
with our heads cut off God is a God of order
not chaos and he wants the same for us
he wants order in our day to day
he wants us to really slow down as mamas
when was the last time you paused and turned
to your baby and just watch them for a second

(05:25):
looked at their little hands
and how they clumsily grab onto their favorite toys
observe their little lips
and how they stick them out
when they're super focused on
trying to do something hard
for them
when was the last time you slowed down
enough to be hyper present for just a minute
it almost brings a lump to your throat right

(05:47):
like
we mamas are so busy serving
that we forget to enjoy this beautiful
honorable journey we have before us
what an entrustment to be a mom
it is not to be taken lightly
and it sure isn't to be wasted
by filling our time with to do's
and replacing these tender

(06:07):
beautiful moments of presence with our children
we can talk about stretching beyond our own household
in another episode I just really feel like
the Holy Spirit
wants us to focus in on our intentionality
with the ministry that he set before us
right here right now
because that is our portion in this season
doesn't matter if you have one child or 10 of them

(06:29):
they're your first and most important ministry
and that is gonna take some focus
heart and time dishes can wait
I know people say that but like it can laundry
it can wait too but this moment right here
where you watch your little one
and their sweet little expression

(06:49):
that right there is how God watches us
whoo
guys he adores us and he isn't hustling
nothing can rush him or press him for time
he has time for you
the moment you turn your face to him
and if you need anything at all
he's there the least we can do
is make ourselves more available

(07:11):
to do the same for our babies amen
whoo
alright blow your nose
clean your face up girl
that was intense but look
this is part of the healing process god took me through
and my life completely transformed after that
so smile friend
you're about to encounter transformation

(07:33):
in your motherhood journey like never before
okay here's your practical homework assignment
and don't worry it's easy and takes about 60 seconds
honestly from this moment on
I want you to pick a time in your day
where you can take just one minute
and look at that little person
or the people that god gave you

(07:55):
say nothing just put the phone down
the dishes down and the laundry
whatever you're doing
and watch them for one whole minute
and let me tell you
it makes me cry almost every single time I do it
the love just comes flooding in
and sometimes
even the guilt of not doing it more often
but that's not the assignment
I just want you to see your kid

(08:16):
kids are so beautiful
even when they're being little brats haha
there's an innocence we miss
if we don't slow down enough to see it
and I want you to see it so
so badly so that's your homework
and you're gonna do it for the rest of your life
it's an easy lifestyle change and all you need
is to set an alarm on your phone

(08:37):
or do whatever you gotta do to remember it
okay then watch how God transforms you this week
it's gonna blow your mind friend
okay friends until next time
