Auf einer abgelegenen Halbinsel an der nordfriesischen Küste lebt Annett, Ende vierzig, seit vielen Jahren allein. Nach dem Tod ihres Mannes hat sie dort ihre Tochter Linn großgezogen. Linn ist inzwischen Mitte zwanzig und war nach dem Abitur voller Tatendrang in die Welt gezogen. Sie arbeitete an Umweltprojekten im In- und Ausland und engagierte sich für den Klimaschutz. Doch eines Tages erleidet Linn einen Zusammenbruch – körperlich und seelisch erschöpft. Annett holt sie in das Haus an der Nordsee. Aus einem kurzen Besuch wird ein längerer Aufenthalt.
