Egalitatea de gen rămâne o valoare fundamentală a unei democrații autentice, iar drepturile femeilor, inclusiv acela de a alege pentru propria viață, trebuie respectate. Cu toate acestea, violența împotriva femeilor atinge cote alarmante, dreptul la avort este contestat în mai multe state, discriminarea de gen este prezentă în diverse forme, începând de la interviurile de angajare, iar numărul femeilor cu funcții publice sau de conducere este mai mic decât cel al bărbaților. În acest context, am încercat să aflăm ce ar trebui să facă Uniunea Europeană pentru a garanta drepturile femeilor?
