Hey Carpool Crew! đ Whether you're buckled up and ready for the day or still munching your breakfast in the backseat, I'm Pastor Justinâand Iâm so glad youâre here.
Weâre deep into our series Proverbs for Your School Lifeâdaily wisdom from Godâs Word to help you navigate real moments at school, with friends, and in the decisions you face every day.
đ Proverbs 12:18 (CSB) âThere is one who speaks rashly, like a piercing sword; but the tongue of the wise brings healing.â
đĄ What does that mean? Solomon gives us two very different pictures:
One person speaks rashlyâwithout thinkingâand their words hurt like a sword
The other chooses their words with wisdom, and their words actually bring healing
â In this episode, kids will learn:
Why words matter more than we realize
What it means to âspeak rashlyâ (and how it happens at lunch tables, in texts, and online)
How Jesus used His words to heal and helpânot to hurt
That choosing not to say the âfunny roastâ is actually a powerful act of wisdom
đŻ Real-life example: Someone in class messes up. Youâve got the perfect comeback thatâll make everyone laugh⊠but it might really hurt that person. Instead, you choose to say: âYou're goodâdonât worry about it.â đ Thatâs a moment when your words can heal instead of cut.
đ Application for today:
Think before you speak, joke, or post. Not every joke is worth it.
Use your words to build others up, not tear them down.
Ask God to help you pauseâa quick âGod, should I say this?â goes a long way.
đšâđ©âđ§ Parent Tip: Ask your kids today: âWhen was the last time someoneâs words hurt you or healed you? What kind of words do you want to use this week?â If this episode helped your family have a meaningful moment, share it with a friend or post about it online so more parents can find Carpooling with Jesus.
