Dominik J. Cvitanovic is a Partner at Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker LLP and co-chair of the firm’s Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice. He is nationally recognized for guiding clients through high-stakes cybersecurity incidents—from targeted email compromises to ransomware attacks—and serves as breach coach on the firm’s 24/7 incident response team.
He also leads the firm’s Virtual Privacy Officer (VPO) services, helping organizations design and implement proactive cybersecurity and data privacy compliance programs, conduct audits, and manage third-party vendor risk. His work frequently involves advising businesses on regulatory obligations across U.S. and international privacy regimes.
Dominik represents clients in regulatory investigations and enforcement actions before agencies including the U.S. Departments of Health & Human Services, Defense, State, and Education, as well as state attorneys general, insurance commissioners, and the New York Department of Financial Services.
Beyond cybersecurity, Dominik has extensive experience in insurance and reinsurance coverage, handling complex matters involving commercial general liability, property, auto, pollution endorsements, excess liability, and cut-through reinsurance provisions. He also represents employers in labor and employment disputes, including wage and hour claims, discrimination cases, retaliation matters, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board.
His professional excellence has earned him recognition as a Louisiana Super Lawyers Rising Star every year from 2020 through 2025—an honor reserved for a select group of attorneys acknowledged by peers for their outstanding legal achievements.
