The Staircase

In the HBOMax original series, The Staircase, starring Colin Firth and Toni Collette, the most important aspect is that it is based on real events. The fact that this is a true story, combined with good acting, a substantial supporting cast - including Juliette Binoche - and very compelling direction (by Antonio Campos), makes The Staircase a must see. Two spoilers in this Chick Flick Chat, I do chat about the whole story, and FYI: when you watch the series you won't be feeling happy afterward. For all the reasons I mention here, and talk about in this television review, it is worth watching, just don't expect an uplifting tale. In this CFC, I reveal the three main theories of what might have happened on that fated night on the back hallway staircase, and delve into the complex relationships that drive the plot.
