On the 2nd of September 1998, over 1,000 police and child protection officers in 13 countries conducted numerous raids on suspected Wonderland Club members. The Wonderland Club was a child pornography ring and had an estimated 180 members and together they accumulated 1,236 victims.

11 year old Rui was last seen riding his bike on the 4th of March 1998 in Northern Portugal. People were suspicious his 22 year old friend could be involved however, an image of Rui would later be found circulating a pedophile ring called The Wonderland Club.
