Dnes již známý výraz německého kancléře Olafa Scholze "Zeitenwende" neboli "historický zlom" je jistě výstižný, neboť vypuknutí války na evropském území donutilo všechny země EU přehodnotit svou obrannou strategii a investice.
Evropští představitelé i občané vyjádřili silnou podporu zlepšení obranyschopnosti Unie, což se jasně a viditelně projevilo ve volbách do Evropského parlamentu.
Četné příspěvky našich rozhlasových stanic k tomuto dílu potvrzují obrovský zájem o tuto problematiku a její složitost, totiž jakou roli by EU měla či neměla hrát v oblasti obrany, která se po desetiletích na vedlejší koleji opět dostala do centra pozornosti.
