Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) is the underlying cause of 85% of heart attacks and strokes, yet it’s still not widely recognised or properly understood.
In this episode, we sit down with Dr. Irene Gibson, an expert in cardiovascular health, to discuss the impact of ASCVD, the challenges in diagnosing it early, and what needs to change to improve awareness and prevention.
We’ll also explore the inequalities in cardiovascular care, especially how heart disease in women is underdiagnosed and under-researched. We’ll look at why these gaps exist and what can be done to improve diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes for women.
This conversation is part of a wider effort to raise awareness, by Croí, Global Heart Hub, and the Invisible Nation campaign, working to ensure that ASCVD and its impact—especially on women—is no longer ignored

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist
It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
