Dans cet épisode, Dominic et Jefferick nous entretiennent sur le Cercle des représentants pour la défense des policiers (CRDP). Ils sont accompagnés de Me David Coderre, avocat à l’Association, et de Jacques Painchaud, président de l’APPQ et fondateur du CRDP.
Mis sur pied en 2008, le CRDP permet une approche multidisciplinaire. Il réunit des professionnels tels que des avocats, des chercheurs et des intervenants en santé mentale. Ces gens se partagent de l’information dans le but de mieux soutenir les policiers qui font face à des procédures judiciaires et quasi judiciaires.
M. Painchaud raconte comment il a bâti le projet et comment le CRDP a évolué à travers les années. Tout a commencé en 2008 face au constat qu’il y avait une méconnaissance des impacts de la Loi sur la police à la suite de jugements provenant des différentes instances. Certaines stratégies de défense n’étant pas tout à fait adaptées à la réalité policière, M. Painchaud a cru en l’importance d’avoir une plateforme pour bien informer toutes les parties impliquées dans les dossiers judiciaires concernant des policiers.
