In de eerste aflevering van het tweede seizoen van De Laatste Les spreken we met Bill Banning. Begonnen als pastoraal helper maar vanaf zijn 35e zijn hart verloren aan het onderwijs. Gastlessen in het PO, lessen levensbeschouwing en godsdienst op vier/vijf scholen. Over de keren dat het niet lukt en Bill's vrouw die hem op het rechte pad bracht. Hoe ga je om met het allerergste, als een leerling sterft, hoe kun je dan ondersteunend zijn? Wat leraren beweegt om leraar te worden onderzocht Bill in zijn proefschrift. Met opvallende resultaten. En we eindigen met Bills overtuiging dat we leerlingen moeten zien als meewerkend onderwerp.
