Heute ist kein einfacher Tag für die Deeep Fried Frenz Crew. Konnten wir in der letzten Episode noch hier und da einen kleinen Spaß einbauen, so wird es heute deutlich ernster. Es soll um die Sexualverbrechen im Vietnamkrieg gehen, mit dem Fokus auf dem Haupttäter: Die US Army.
Dieses Thema rein statistisch abzuhandeln ist schwer bis unmöglich. Einerseits gibt es wenig verlässlichen Zahlen, da die Amerikaner alles versuchen, um ihre Taten zu verschleiern. Andererseits bringt jede statistische Erhebung die Frage nach der Methodik auf: Wo zieht man die Grenze zwischen Vergewaltigung und Zwangsprostitution? Wann endet eine Gräueltat, wann beginnt die nächste?
Wir haben deshalb das Thema episodisch aufgearbeitet - Um zu zeigen, dass Sexualverbrechen wie eine Epidemie grassierten, in jede Facette des Lebens in Viet Nam vorgedrungen waren. Das Ausmaß an Gräueltaten und Kriegsverbrechen wird klar ersichtlich, die Rolle eines jeden beleuchtet, sei es ein Soldat, Offizier, Journalist oder der Illustrator eines Magazins. Am Ende der Episode bieten wir noch einen Ausblick auf die Gegenwart und beleuchten, wie das US Militär mit dem Problem der Sexualverbrechen "umgeht".
