Ever feel like you’re rowing the dementia care boat alone while everyone else shouts directions—or just enjoys the ride?

In Episode 259, Lizette introduces the Anchor Care Matrix™—a powerful framework to reduce family conflict by defining roles based on two questions:

How involved are you in daily care? How much authority do you actually have?

Once you answer these, you’ll see the four types of caregiving roles emerge:

🛑 Care Observer – Low authority, low involvement. Lots of opinions, little action. 📜 Care Steward – High authority, low involvement. Think distant decision-makers. 💪 Care Advocate – Low authority, high involvement. The ones doing the work but not making the calls. ⚓ Care Anchor – High authority, high involvement. Carrying the weight of care and decisions. 🎯 Misalignment—when involvement and authority don’t match—is the root of most caregiving conflict.

Biblical stories like Ruth (advocate) and the Good Samaritan (anchor) remind us: caregiving is a sanctifying stewardship journey. Clarity in roles = peace in the process.

Want to shift from frustration to alignment? Listen now and redefine your family’s path forward.
