Heidi ble mobbet på skolen siden hun hadde en litt annerledes oppvekst. Kontrasten ble stor når moren som var hippie ble radikalt frelst. Faren var i det alternative, og ble psykisk syk før hun ble født. Heidi kjente på en stor lengsel etter et farsforbilde.
Som ung opplevde hun mye positivt i Sarons Dal, og vokste naturlig inn i det kristne miljøet. Men da hun ble 17 år, vendte hun Gud ryggen da hun så at mennesker levde et dobbeltliv og ikke var til å stole på. Hun planla derfor DEN russefeiringa, men så kjenner hun seg ledet til å dra på bibelskole. Her opplevde hun å få hjelp for spiseforstyrrelser og fikk oppleve Gud som SIN far.
