Laila har sunget siden hun var et barn, og utgitt 2 album. Nå er hun stadig på farten som soloartist eller sammen med et kor. Etter mange år i omsorgsyrket begynte hun å jobbe i barnehagen.
Det ble en god, men likevel litt ensom barndom for Ole. Han tok utdannelse som sivilagronom. innen jordbruk. Etter at telemarkingen ble kristen, har han vært engasjert i kristent arbeid, bl.a. et par somre med bibelsmugling.
Ludvig Karlsen hadde behov for et bestyrerpar på Østerbo Evangeliesenter, og Laila og Ole var dem som ble forespurt. Senere ble de fosterforeldre, og har også hatt flere barn til avlasting i sitt hjem. Utstrakte hender er det som kjennetegner dette flotte ekteparet …
