About Bart Millard:
Bart Millard is an American singer and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the contemporary Christian music band MercyMe. Born on December 1, 1972, in Greenville, Texas, Millard initially aspired to be a football player, but an injury in high school led him to pursue music instead.
Millard gained widespread recognition for writing "I Can Only Imagine," one of the most successful Christian songs of all time, inspired by the loss of his father. The song later became the subject of the 2018 biographical film I Can Only Imagine, in which Millard was portrayed by J. Michael Finley.
In addition to his work with MercyMe, Millard has released solo music, including the 2008 hymn-based album Hymned No. 1 and its 2008 follow-up, Hymned Again. His music blends Christian rock, worship, and traditional hymns, making him a beloved figure in the Christian music scene.
